• How do I verify the ownership of a domain from Namecheap to use Google Apps?

  I registered a domain with Namecheap.com, and started the Google Apps registration process. After the initial data filling, google apps wishes me to prove the ownership of a domain, and has given me 4 choices: Add a DNS record to your domain's configuration Link to your Google Analytics account Upload an HTML file to your server Add a meta tag to your site's home page What is the differences between these, and how do I (if someone knows perhaps how to do it on Namecheap, it would be even better) complete this step in the process? I would appreciate any advice you might have.

• SOA 11g Technology Adapters – ECID Propagation

  Overview Many SOA Suite 11g deployments include the use of the technology adapters for various activities including integration with FTP, database, and files to name a few. Although the integrations with these adapters are easy and feature rich, there can be some challenges from the operations perspective. One of these challenges is how to correlate a logical business transaction across SOA component instances. This correlation is typically accomplished via the execution context ID (ECID), but we lose the ECID correlation when the business transaction spans technologies like FTP, database, and files. A new feature has been introduced in the Oracle adapter JCA framework to allow the propagation of the ECID. This feature is available in the forthcoming SOA Suite 11.1.1.7 (PS6). The basic concept of propagating the ECID is to identify somewhere in the payload of the message where the ECID can be stored. Then two Binding Properties, relating to the location of the ECID in the message, are added to either the Exposed Service (left-hand side of composite) or External Reference (right-hand side of composite). This will give the JCA framework enough information to either extract the ECID from or add the ECID to the message. In the scenario of extracting the ECID from the message, the ECID will be used for the new component instance. Where to Put the ECID When trying to determine where to store the ECID in the message, you basically have two options: Add a new optional element to your message schema. Leverage an existing element that is not used in your schema. The best scenario is that you are able to add the optional element to your message since trying to find an unused element will prove difficult in most situations. The schema will be holding the ECID value which looks something like the following: 11d1def534ea1be0:7ae4cac3:13b4455735c:-8000-00000000000002dc Configuring Composite Services/References Now that you have identified where you want the ECID to be stored in the message, the JCA framework needs to have this information as well. The two pieces of information that the framework needs relates to the message schema: The namespace for the element in the message. The XPath to the element in the message. To better understand this, let's look at an example for the following database table: When an Exposed Service is created via the Database Adapter Wizard in the composite, the following schema is created: For this example, the two Binding Properties we add to the ReadRow service in the composite are: <!-- Properties for the binding to propagate the ECID from the database table --> <property name="jca.ecid.nslist" type="xs:string" many="false">  xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/db/top/ReadRow"</property> <property name="jca.ecid.xpath" type="xs:string" many="false">  /ns1:EcidPropagationCollection/ns1:EcidPropagation/ns1:ecid</property> Notice that the property called jca.ecid.nslist contains the targetNamespace defined in the schema and the property called jca.ecid.xpath contains the XPath statement to the element. The XPath statement also contains the appropriate namespace prefix (ns1) which is defined in the jca.ecid.nslist property. When the Database Adapter service reads a row from the database, it will retrieve the ECID value from the payload and remove the element from the payload. When the component instance is created, it will be associated with the retrieved ECID and the payload contains everything except the ECID element/value. The only time the ECID is visible is when it is stored safely in the resource technology like the database, a file, or a queue. Simple Database/File/JMS Example This section contains a simplified example of how the ECID can propagate through a database table, a file, and JMS queue. The composite for the example looks like the following: The flow of this example is as follows: Invoke database insert using the insertwithecidbpelprocess_client_ep Service. The InsertWithECIDBPELProcess adds a row to the database via the Database Adapter. The JCA Framework adds the ECID to the message prior to inserting. The ReadRow Service retrieves the record and the JCA Framework extracts the ECID from the message. The ECID element is removed from the message. An instance of ReadRowBPELProcess is created and it is associated with the retried ECID. The ReadRowBPELProcess now writes the record to the file system via the File Adapter. The JCA Framework adds the ECID to the message prior to writing the message to file. The ReadFile Service retrieves the record from the file system and the JCA Framework extracts the ECID from the message. The ECID element is removed from the message. An instance of ReadFileBPELProcess is created and it is associated with the retried ECID. The ReadFileBPELProcess now enqueues the message via the JMS Adapter. The JCA Framework adds the ECID to the message prior to enqueuing the message. The DequeueMessage Service retrieves the record and the JCA Framework extracts the ECID from the message. The ECID element is removed from the message. An instance of DequeueMessageBPELProcess is created and it is associated with the retried ECID. The logical flow ends. When viewing the Flow Trace in the Enterprise Manger, you will now see all the instances correlated via ECID: Please check back here when SOA Suite 11.1.1.7 is released for this example.   I've been building web apps that add and remove lots of dynamic content and even structure within the page, and I'm not impressed by the method I'm using to do it. There must be a better way. I thought of building a function to convert a JSON structure to html, but it seems like overkill. • Wine: How to open a whole folder, not a single file?

  I am using foobar2000 under my Ubuntu with Wine since… I don't know. Now, with the new Ubuntu 12.10 release foobar2000 was not starting anymore correctly so I reinstalled it (foobar2000 1.1.15, wine 1.4). Naturally I have to set up my foobar2000 configuration from scratch but thats not a problem at all. Everything works fine except adding whole folders to the music library using the Add-button under "File-Preferences-Media Library". Problem is one can only open files with the Add-dialog but not a whole folder. Under Windows everything works fine. Editing the foobar2000 configuration file ([foobar2000-folder]/configuration/Core.cfg) by hand does not work… I also tried it with a hex editor. :( So… what can I do? Thanks. :)

  Have you ever wanted to dump all the SSIS packages stored in msdb out to files? Of course you have, who wouldn’t? Right? Well, at least one person does because this was the subject of a thread (save all ssis packages to file) on the SSIS forum earlier today. Some of you may have already figured out a way of doing this but for those that haven’t here is a nifty little script that will do it for you and it uses our favourite jack-of-all tools … Powershell!!   Imagine I have the following package folder structure on my Integration Services server (i.e. in [msdb]): There are two packages in there called “20110111 Chaining Expression components” & “Package”, I want to export those two packages into a folder structure that mirrors that in [msdb]. • Building a plug-in for Windows Live Writer

  This tutorial will show you how to build a plug-in for Windows Live Writer. Windows Live Writer is a blogging tool that Microsoft provides for free. It includes an open API for .NET developers to create custom plug-ins. In this tutorial, I will show you how easy it is to build one. Open VS2008 or VS2010 and create a new project. Set the target framework to 2.0, Application Type to Class Library and give it a name. In this tutorial, we are going to create a plug-in that generates a twitter message with your blog post name and a TinyUrl link to the blog post.  It will do all of this automatically after you publish your post. Once, we have a new projected created. We need to setup the references. Add a reference to the WindowsLive.Writer.Api.dll located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Writer\ folder, if you are using X64 version of Windows. You will also need to add a reference to System.Windows.Forms System.Web from the .NET tab as well. Once that is complete, add your “using” statements so that it looks like whats shown below: Live Writer Plug-In "Using" using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; using WindowsLive.Writer.Api; using System.Web; Now, we are going to setup some build events to make it easier to test our custom class. Go into the Properties of your project and select Build Events, click edit the Post-build and copy/paste the following line: XCOPY /D /Y /R "$(TargetPath)" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Writer\Plugins\" Your screen should look like the one pictured below: Next, we are going to launch an external program on debug. We start with adding the attributes for the Live Writer Plugin. Before we get started creating the Attributes, we need to create a GUID. This GUID will uniquely identity our plug-in. So, to create a GUID follow the steps in VS2008/2010. Click Tools from the VS Menu ->Create GUID It will generate a GUID like the one listed below: GUID <Guid("56ED8A2C-F216-420D-91A1-F7541495DBDA")> We only want what’s inside the quotes, so your final product should be: "56ED8A2C-F216-420D-91A1-F7541495DBDA". Go ahead and paste this snipped into your class just above the public class.   My idea was that (using loopback devices) it works like this Create the raid array sudo mkfs.btrfs -m raid1 -d raid1 /dev/loop1 /dev/loop2 You mount them sudo mount /dev/loop1 /mnt and mark them touch goodcondition You unmount and simulate disk failure (remove disk or delete loopback device loop2 in my case) You mount degraded -o degraded and mark again touch degraded You add the bad disk again sudo btrfs dev add /dev/loop2 You rebalance sudo btrfs fi ba /mnt And Raid 1 should work again. But that's not the case. sudo btrfs fi show: Total devices 3 FS bytes used 28.00KB devid 3 size 4.00GB used 264.00MB path /dev/loop1 devid 2 size 4.00GB used 272.00MB path /dev/loop2 *** Some devices missing The file degraded lives on loop1 but not on loop2 when loop2 is mounted in degraded mode. Why is that?

  Background This note is a supplement to the blog entry, SOA 11g & SAP – Single Channel/Program ID for Multiple IDOCs by Greg Mally. Greg has shown how a single SOA Suite composite can be used with iWay Adapters to receive multiple IDOC types via a single channel in the adapter, corresponding to a single programID on the SAP system. We will try to address the same requirements within the OSB framework here. Project Built - Design Time The basic build of an OSB project with iWay SAP Adapter, as seen in another entry in this blog, consists of working in OSB Design console and Application Explorer. OSB Design Time - Part 1 We will create a placeholder project first in OSB with a proper directory structure, so that we can export the WSDL, XSD and the JCA binding information from Application Explorer directly into this project. Application Explorer - iWay Design Time Tool Receiving IDOCs is classified as an inbound event within Application Explorer. For setting up events, a channel is first defined (e.g. iDoc_Channel) using the same PROGRAMID (RFC destination), as defined within SAP for the OSB server. Next, the same channel is used to export the JCA Inbound Event artifacts for the candidate IDOC, e.g. DEBMAS06 directly to the pre-created OSB project. Note that the validation for schema has been turned off. As a result, this will allow the adapter, at runtime, to use a single channel to receive multiple IDOC types from SAP and pass them on to the OSB runtime engine without any validation. In other words, we do not have to repeat the above step for each IDOC type. OSB Design Time - Part 2 Create 2 simple XML based Business Services to write to a file, e.g.  SAP_DEBMAS_File and SAP_MATMAS_File. Next, generate a Proxy Service using the JCA binding file exported from Application Explorer in the previous section. In the generated proxy service, edit the message flow and add a route node. Add a routing table in the route node with the following routing function. fn:local-name-from-QName(fn:node-name($body/*[1])) This function takes advantage of the fact that the XML payload at runtime, after translation by adapter, has the IDOC type as the top element. With the routing function in place, build the routing table to add 2 branches to route the IDOCs to the appropriate Business Service for writing the XML payload to files in separate directories. This completes the build of the OSB project. Testing - Run-Time After deployment and activation, the SAP adapter will wait to receive multiple types of IDOCs sent from the SAP system using a single channel. Upon receipt of the IDOCs, the OSB project will route them appropriately to save the corresponding XML payloads for different IDOC types in different directories.

I do: Obj obj; obj.add(new Position()); obj.add(new Physics()); How could I then have another object not only move the ball but have those physics applied. I'm not looking for implementation details but rather abstractly how objects communicate. In an entity based design, you might just have: obj1.emitForceOn(obj2,5.0,0.0,0.0); Any article or explanation to get a better grasp on a component driven design and how to do basic things would be really helpful.

  My day job involves a bit of programming, but I've recently been attempting some web development for personal reasons. I've got Drupal up and running and done basic things like add new content (i.e. heading and text) and add modules and themes, but I'm not sure how to approach actually designing pages. When I mucked around with webpages 15 years ago, it was just a mixture of HTML, CSS and Javascript, generally written with a text editor. Have things changed, or is this the way I'd make a Drupal page today? If it makes a difference, in my case the page's I want to design simply have static content, but I'd like them to be easily updatable.

In this case, I don’t care about the actual implementation of the module (it’s simple enough that I’m just avoiding some AJAX calls). EDIT: make sure you look at the bottom example after the edit before using the config.map approach. I found that there is an easier way. I did not want to change the constructor of the consumer as I had a chain of changes that would have to be made and that would have been to invasive for this task. I found a question on StackOverflow with a short, but helpful answer from “Artem Oboturov”. We can use the config.map from RequireJs to achieve this.   We have a client that needs an e-commerce site set up pretty quickly. As I have no experience with e-commerce, I am looking for some guidance. Basically, the two big features we need are: Ability for customer to add info about order (example: the name the customer wants to be put on the customizable product they ordered) Ability for customer to upload photo of product to be customized I hope this makes sense. Right now I am really looking into Shopify, but I can't tell if it does everything we need. I know you can add order notes when checking out, but not sure about image upload (maybe it can be added as an app through the API?).

  Another Friday has arrived and it’s time to screw off on company time. Today we take a look at a unique game Add-on for Firefox called Destroy the Web. Destroy the Web Once you install the Add-on and restart Firefox, you’ll see the Destroy the Web icon on the toolbar. Click on it to destroy whatever webpage you’re on.   The game starts up and gives you a 3 second countdown… Now move the target over different elements of the page to destroy them. You have 30 seconds to destroy the site contents. If you are angry at a particular company or the one you work for, this can give you some fun stress relief by destroying it’s website. After you’ve destroyed as much of the page as possible, you’re given a score. You get different amounts of points for destroying certain elements on the page. Basically destroy as much as possible to get the most points. You can submit your score and check out some of the scoreboard leaders as well.  There are some cool sound effects and arcade sounding background music, so make sure to turn the volume down while playing. Or you can go into the Add-on options and disable it. If you want a unique way to let off some steam before the weekend starts, this is a fun way of doing it.
