• Jquery Uploader not saving to a folder in the site root

  im trying to integrate the Jquery Uploader into my website http://blueimp.github.com/jQuery-File-Upload/ The problem I am having is that I cant seem to get it save the folder I want to to save to. In the UploadHander.php I have the following settings 'script_url' => $this->get_full_url().'/', 'upload_dir' => dirname($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']).'./images/machinery/', 'upload_url' => $this->get_full_url().'./images/machinery/', This results in an image uploaded url that looks like this http://domain.com/rcsetch/up/server/php/machinery/image.jpg Other than putting my php files in the root of the website, im not sure how to get it to work, as what I want it to do is upload the files to http://domain.com/images/machinery and not to the create a folder in the directory where all the php files for the uploader are located.

But for a new requirement i need to query a external oracle database( used by other component) and compile a list of items and display in a page in the website. How is it possible to connect to a external database just for rendering a single page. And is it possible to cache the queried result for say 1 month before invalidating the cache and get the updated list of items. i dont want query the external oracle db for each request.

• Connect to https:// webservice in asp.net app

  Hi All, I have an ASP.NET website that is contacting a webservice. Everything works fine connecting via http but when I try https:// it can't connect. I don't seem to get any error from the website and the webservice logs show nothing, meaning nothing has connected to it. I can connect to my https:// webservice from a site like soapclient.com and request information, so the webservice and ports are working. Is there anything special I should be doing in order to connect to a https:// webservice over a normal http:// one in .NET? All I am doing at the moment is changing the URL it is connecting to to my secure one instead. I am using ASP.NET 2, IIS7 Thanks in advance.

  Hello, This question has been asked multiple times I know. From what I understand, broadly speaking, if I include a GPL module in my app, I have to also release my app's source code for free. Now if the module is a java app (which I have modified) and included in my own java app, and say I use it as an applet on my website, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users visiting the website? Can I distribute the code only to people who ask for it? If I sell my applet, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users or ONLY to the users who purchase my applet?   Hi there, My powershell script takes the following parameter: Param($BackedUpFilePath) The value that is getting passed into my script is: "\123.123.123.123\Backups\Website.7z" I have another variable which is the location I want to extract the file: $WebsiteDeploymentFolder = "C:\example" I am trying to extract the archive with the following command: `7z x $BackedUpFilePath -o$WebsiteDeploymentFolder -aoa I keep getting the following error: Error: cannot find archive The following works but I need $BackedUpFilePath to be dynamic: `7z x '\123.123.123.123\Backups\Website.7z' -o$WebsiteDeploymentFolder -aoa I think I need to pass $BackedUpFilePath to 7z with quotes but they seem to get stripped out no matter what I try. I am in quote hell. Thanks.

  Hey all! So, we're looking to develop a mobile website. On this mobile website, we'd like to automatically populate a user's location (with proper fallback) based on their IP address. I'm aware of geocoding a location based on IP address (mapping to latitude, longitude and then getting the location with that information). However, I'm curious how accurate this information is? Are mobile devices assigned IP's when they utilize 3G, EDGE, and GPRS connections? I think so. If that is so, does it map to a relatively accurate location? It doesn't have to be spot on, but relatively accurate would be nice. Thanks! -Steve

I have a website in Joomla, and I have some .css (layout.css, position.css, .... ) and I have at home of the website, 3 buttons, I tested in localhost, and when I see the home well, I upload everything to production, to my server. Now, I just edited some styles of these buttons, for example, the width, in order to see them better...but I'm having a problem with the cache, because sometimes I see them with new changes, but other times I see with the old styles.....I realized that this happens especially with chrome Could you help me, please? • Key word extraction in Python

  I'm building a website in django that needs to extract key words from short (twitter-like) messages. I've looked at packages like topia.textextract and nltk - but both seem to be overkill for what I need to do. All I need to do is filter words like "and", "or", "not" while keeping nouns and verbs that aren't conjunctives or other parts of speech. Are there any "simpler" packages out there that can do this? EDIT: This needs to be done in near real-time on a production website, so using a keyword extraction service seems out of the question, based on their response times and request throttling.

• How would you implement database updates via email?

  I'm building a public website which has its own domain name with pop/smtp mail services. I'm considering giving users the option to update their data via email - something similar to the functionality found in Flickr or Blogger where you email posts to a special email address. The email data is then processed and stored in the underlying database for the website. I'm using ASP.NET and SQL Server and using a shared hosting service. Any ideas how one would implement this, or if it's even possible using shared hosting? Thanks

  Our web app offers a service that allows a "Publisher" to create a website (we give them a CMS system) that is ready to provide this service to "Members" (think Shopify). We have some possible clients that wish to become "Publishers" but they already have existing websites (vbulletin, word press blog, etc) with their own user base. We wish to develop an API that would allow these "Publishers" to keep using their own websites, and embed our services into them. Our main business requirement is that once "Members" are logged into the "Publishers" existing system, they should be able to also access our website without having to log-in again OR have to create another account there. The process should be seamless to the "Member" and "Publishers" should not have to sync their user base with our system. We also want to use an existing API authentication/authorization system instead of creating our own (OAuth, OpenID, etc) What would be the best way to use OAuth to achieve this sigle-sign on design? If OAuth is not the best tool, is there any other one out there that fits our requirements?

• How can I use SiteMap more efficiently?

  So, in our website we are using SiteMap. For each request we render some menu and to do that we do SiteMap.RootNode in the helper function. Now, when I have done the profiling of my website using dotTrace, I saw the get_RootNode() is taking lot's of time(around 70-75 millisecond). But we know that the SiteMap is static. So, I am thinking in somehow I will get the SiteMap.RootNode only once in Application_Start and will access that through out each request. So, my questions are, Is my approach correct? How should I do that? Or is there any efficient way that I can use SiteMap.RootNode Thanks.

  hi, this is a question about drupal installation on server. I usually upload my drupal into a subfolder "drupal" and I ask my customers to check the website in such subfolders until when it is ready. Then I asl to change the default folder in Apache to the "drupal" one. Sometimes my customer cannot change Apache configuration, so I was wondering if I can use a php script to forward users from root folder to the drupal one, or I should move the website to the root folder (which I would prefer to avoid, because is time consuming). thanks

  Has anyone successfully been able to deploy ASP.NET website to GoDaddy's free hosting? I am talking about free hosting that comes with a domain package from GoDaddy. The catch of the free hosting is having an annoying Google Ads banner in a frame on top of the page. I've searched Google, stackoverflow and GoDaddy forums but I can't find anywhere the solution to my problem. When I upload a ASP.NET website to GoDaddy, it gives me an error - something about TrustLevel. Someone told me that by default asp.net websites have Full Trust Level which GoDaddy doesn't allow. I've even tried changing Trust Level to Medium manually, but with no luck. What may be the problem?

  I am trying to run this code: ItemTaxonomy iTaxonomy = from itemTaxonomy in connection.ItemTaxonomy where itemTaxonomy.Item.ID == itemView.ID orderby itemTaxonomy.Taxonomy.Name select itemTaxonomy; When I compiled it I get the error: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Linq.IOrderedQueryable<Website.Models.ItemTaxonomy>' to 'Website.Models.ItemTaxonomy'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) I believe the issue is with orderby itemTaxonomy.Taxonomy.Name but I am just trying to order by the name of Taxonomy items instead of their IDs. Is there a way to do that?

  I'm currently testing an OpenID implementation, and I'm noticing that Google sends a different identifier for different consuming host name / domain name, even for the same user. For example, Google sends a different identifier when the requesting site is localhost, compared to the identifier they send when the requesting site is 127.0.0.1 for the same user. Note: I haven't actually tested this using public domain names, but I can't see why the behavior would be any different. My concern with Google's behavior is that if we ever choose to change our website domain name in the future, then users will no longer be able to log in to the website using Google's OpenId as the identity provider. This seems to be a big problem. Am I missing something, or are all OpenID consuming sites faced with this potential problem? I've also tested this with MyOpenId, but the identifier that MyOpenId creates is fixed, so this wouldn't be a problem with them. Thanks.

  HI I have to implement login over SSL in my website. for example cloginForm - this is the form https://www.myweb.com/loginProcess - this is the action which process the form -authenticates user. I am able to do this with usual web form but the problem is the overlay dialog box for login for example if I am on my website home page http://www.myweb.com - notice http and I click a login link there , it shows a small html div with login form (like a litebox).now ,as I am on a non SSL page (http) the data which I post does not get encrypted,and posted to the process action. (Basically it allows me to use Amazon S3 and gives me feedback on when people stop watching the video.)   Hi, ever since I added this htaccess to my website, I noticed a HUGE slowdown, and my error logs are filled with errors such as PHP Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in page.php on line 79. I've got up to four of these per second. Most of the time it works though. The htaccess consisted of two similar rules: one with two GET vars, another one with only one. RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)\/(.*)$ index.php?var1=$1&var2=$2 [L] Anyway, I just rewrote a PHP script that handles of all the strings and redirects where it should, and my website is now fast again.
