• AutoRestart Custom Shell App

  We have a .Net application that runs as a shell for certain users. We'd like the application to automatically restart when it crashes. The application is set as the shell here: HKEY_USERS*User*\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\WinLogon\Shell I've tried adding an "AutoRestartShell" key with a value of "1", like what exists in: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\WinLogon. When I kill the application's process for the user (via RDP) the application exits, but never restarts. Ideas?

• SSAS dimension source table changed - how to propagate changes to analysis server?

  Hi, Sorry if the question isn't phrased very well but I'm new to SSAS and don't know the correct terms. I have changed the name of a table and its columns. I am using said table as a dimension for my cube, so now the cube won't process. Presumably I need to make updates in the analysis server to reflect changes to the source database? • C# multiple asynchronous HttpRequest with one callback

  I want to make 10 asynchronous http requests at once and only process the results when all have completed and in a single callback function. I also do not want to block any threads using WaitAll (it is my understanding that WaitAll blocks until all are complete). I think I want to make a custom IAsyncResult which will handle multiple calls. Am I on the right track? Are there any good resources or examples out there that describe handling this?

  I asked this question a few days ago but it seems to have gone cold fairly quickly. What I want to do is pretty simple and I can't believe someone hasn't figured it out. Solution needs to be JScript classic ASP. I am reading a file from a remote server and I want to process that (binary) file on my server and spit the results back to the client as XML. Here's a simplified version of what I am trying to do. This code runs, or will if the URL is filled in for your site. This test file is readbin.asp. It reads a file called test.bin, and writes the result to a stream. I used a stream because that makes it easier to read the file and parse the contents.   I am writing an app using PhoneGap for Android in Eclipse. Since the project is an Android project, it's in a Java perspective. For whatever reason, Eclipse won't highlight HTML and JavaScript for me while in an Android/Java project/perspective and switching to the JavaScript perspective doesn't highlight the code either. Without highlighting or debugging tools, the debug process is very slow. How do I tell Eclipse to highlight HTML and JavaScript for me while working in a Java Environment?

• Abort call to unmanaged DLL

  I have an unmanaged DLL with a function that can run for a long time if the input parameter is a large value, sometimes that is desirable but not always. How can I in c# call this function so that I can abort it when needed? So far I have tried to put the call in a separate thread, but neither interrupt nor abort seem to stop the process, which runs at 100% CPU until the dll is done. Is it possible to terminate the running dll code?

• Sequential (comb) GUIDs for Oracle

  We are in the process of switching from the C# Guid.NewGuid() random-ish guid generator to the sequential guid algorithm suggested in this post. While this seems to work well for MS SQL Server, I am unsure about the implications for Oracle databases, in which we store guids in a raw(16) field. Does anyone have any insight as to whether this algorithm would be good for creating sequential guids for Oracle as well as for MS SQL Server, or if a different variant should be used. Thanks!

• Heroku + Yii "Application runtime path is not valid"

  I'm trying to deploy a Yii webapp into Heroku but, it keep throwing at me a weird error: Application runtime path "/app/www/protected/runtime" is not valid. Please make sure it is a directory writable by the Web server process. Makes no sense and I know is something to do with Heroku because in my local machine it works fine.   When a user uploads an image to my site, the image goes through this process; user uploads pic store pic metadata in db, giving the image a unique id async image processing (thumbnail creation, cropping, etc) all images are stored in the same uploads folder So far the site is pretty small, and there are only ~200,000 images in the uploads directory. I realise I'm nowhere near the physical limit of files within a directory, but this approach clearly won't scale, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on upload / storage strategies for handling large volumes of image uploads.

  Hi, I'm new to XPATH and I'd like to know if there is a nice way to do this using XPATH queries. I want to match consecutive sibling nodes in a XML tree to certain predefined rules for example if there are three sibling nodes occurring immediately one after the other and they have the attributes value="A", value="B" and value="C", I want the XPATH query to match the first node/last node in such a sequence and I want to extract all such consecutive sequence of nodes from the XML tree so that I can process them later on.
