• Error while loading shared libraries - libwebsock

  Im trying to setup libwebsock, simple C websocket library. I followed the installation procedure from INSTALL file, everything went fine. Im able to compile test program given in the examples. But when I want to run my executable, wild error appears: ./echo: error while loading shared libraries: libwebsock.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I checked /usr/local/lib twice, libwebsock.so.1 exists and is doing very well. I also tried copying the lib to the echo folder (so its placed next to binary), still same error. It's quite funny for me: shadowz@Ubu:~/WebSocket$ ls echo echo.c echo.cpp libwebsock.so.1 shadowz@Ubu:~/WebSocket$ ./echo ./echo: error while loading shared libraries: libwebsock.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Any suggestions? • Visual Studio 2008 crashes whenever I try to add a file to TFS

  Wondering if anyone else has seen this or knows of a way to fix it. I have Visual Studio 2008 Pro with Team Explorer 2008 installed. Starting a couple of weeks ago any time I try to add a file to TFS (using the "Add Items to Folder" button in the Source Control Explorer window) VS crashes. I briefly see an "unhandled exception" dialog appear, but VS quits right after the dialog opens. I was able to see the exception at one point, and it looked like an index out of bounds exception trying to access some UI component list at -1 (can't remember the specifics, and it closes before I can bring it up now). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling VS a couple of times already, along with resetting all of my settings. Neither helped.

• Script/tool to import series of snapshots, each being a new edition, into GIT, populating source tree?

  I've developed code locally and taken a fairly regular snapshot whenever I reach a significant point in development, e.g. a working build. So I have a long-ish list of about 40 folders, each folder being a snapshot e.g. in ascending date YYYYMMDD order, e.g.:- 20100523 20100614 20100721 20100722 20100809 20100901 20101001 20101003 20101104 20101119 20101203 20101218 20110102 I'm looking for a script to import each of these snapshots into GIT. The end result being that the latest code is the same as the last snapshot, and other editions are accessible and are as numbered. Some other requirements: that the latest edition is not cumulative of the previous snapshots, i.e., files that appeared in older snapshots but which don't appear in later ones (e.g. due to refactoring etc.) should not appear in the latest edition of the code. meanwhile, there should be continuity between files that do persist between snapshots. I would like GIT to know that there are previous editions of these files and not treat them as brand new files within each edition. Some background about my aim: I need to formally revision control this work rather than keep local private snapshot copies. I plan to release this work as open source, so version controlling would be highly recommended I am evaluating some of the current popular version control systems (Subversion and GIT) BUT I definitely need a working solution in GIT as well as subversion. I'm not looking to be persuaded to use one particular tool, I need a solution for each tool I am considering. (I haved posted an answer separately for each tool so separate camps of folks who have expertise in GIT and Subversion will be able to give focused answers on one or the other). • nfs server on cygwin slow

  The setup: We run an instance of cygwin nfsd on a Windows 2008 Server (Xeon 3,2 GHz). There are several Sun Solaris and SunOS machines accessing the shares. This is the exports file: /disk3 (rw,all_squash) /disk2 (rw,all_squash) Those paths are soft linked to the relevant cygdrive/d/path/to/dir paths. Some of the folders contain up to 10k files. The Problem: ls -la on the mounted folder on the sun boxes takes 2 - 3 minutes and the general read performance is really bad. cat filename displays the file in slow bursts and this hurts performance on tasks that access those shared files heavily. Processor load is not the issue, the nfs server idles most of the time, the cygwin tasks never get over 1% load.

  What is a good tool to keep track of IT inventory? Systems that are installed and running, parts being ordered, that sort of thing. I'd love a central, web based system (preferably something we can customize) but my searching so far has resulted in a lot of dead open source projects that havn't been updated in a few years and poorly created commercial websites that don't do a very good job describing their product. The software doesn't have to be free or open source - a good commercial alternative is fine. It doesn't even need to be a web-based tool, that's just what I thought would be simplist to find and easiest to deploy. The number of assets that it will be tracking will be in the dozens, so it doesn't have to be a super high-end enterprise solution but it does need to do a better job than an excel sheet in a shared folder (which is our current "solution")

• No boot or grub file after using ls command

  I had xubuntu installed, i believe version 12.04 and then tried to dual boot with backbox. It worked from the flash drive but upon installing it onto the hard drive, I could no longer boot backbox. I decided I would just clear my OS and put just backbox on the hard drive and only have a single boot. To do this, I erased my boot file completely which led to my current position. I am put into the grub rescue prompt. I can't do a system restore, I can't boot with anything I might try including puppy linux and a boot rescue, and I've looked up the commands and I've tried to fix this. I can do ls, I find the correct hd but then I'm stuck as I don't have a boot or grub folder. The command is typed as: ls (hd1,msdos1)/ and listed is ./ ../ lost+found/ etc/ media/ bin/ dev/ home/ lib/ mnt/ opt/ proc/ root/ run/ sbin/ selinux/ srv/ sys/ tmp/ usr/ var/ initrd.img vmlinuz cdrom/ apfolder initrd.img.old vmlinuz.old (not sure if it's initrd or init rd.img. as it wraps around the screen there.) I've seen commands regarding boot or grub if they are seen but as listed, they aren't there. Any ideas?

• Allow WRITE access to local folders machine in 2003SBS AD

  Have a SBS2003 client with a mess of a domain that is in process of being cleaned. But, for the life of me I cannot find a setting that will allow write access to the local hard disk for domain users with redirected profiles(to the server). This is needed only for one program that will not follow a symbolic link to the network path, instead it seems to be hard coded to the %appdata% folder but only on the c: drive.... So question is how can I allow "Domain users" write access to the local %appdata% directory? I have tried setting it manually on a machine but it kept resetting to RO no matter how many times I tried. Every time I would un-check the RO property it would reset sometime right after i hit OK. • Why do all my browsers default to the "Impact" font?

  I've been struggling with a font issue which I hope you can help resolve. A few weeks ago I started seeing "Impact" as the default font on lots of webpages, rendering much of the content illegible. I think this issue began after I installed other fonts, but I'm not sure. The issue occurs on Chrome, IE and Firefox which suggests it is a Windows issue. By the time I tried to revert the changes via System Restore, it was too late. I tried to reset the default font but Windows does not seem to respond to that. When I click "Restore to default font settings" the button greys out but nothing else happens. No dialog box and no change in the issue. I've tried deleting the fonts in my font folder and re-installing them (from backup) but that did not work either.   I've created two simple, yet very useful, script to extract some useful data to quickly monitor SSIS packages execution in SQL Server 2012 and after.get-ssis-execution-status  get-ssis-data-pumped-rows  I've started to use gist since it comes very handy, for this "quick'n'dirty" scripts and snippets, and you can find the above scripts and others (hopefully the number will increase over time...I plan to use gist to store all the code snippet I used to store in a dedicated folder on my machine) there.Now, back to the aforementioned scripts. The first one ("get-ssis-execution-status") returns a list of all executed and executing packages along with latest successful and running executions (so that on can have an idea of the expected run time)error messageswarning messages related to duplicate rows found in lookupsthe second one ("get-ssis-data-pumped-rows") returns information on DataFlows status. Here there's something interesting, IMHO. Nothing exceptional, let it be clear, but nonetheless useful: the script extract information on destinations and row sent to destinations right from the messages produced by the DataFlow component. This helps to quickly understand how many rows as been sent and where...without having to increase the logging level.Enjoy! PSI haven't tested it with SQL Server 2014, but AFAIK they should work without problems. Of course any feedback on this is welcome.

• Open a screen session inside a certain user on boot Ubuntu Server Linux

  I currently have a private server which I test my web apps on which runs Ubuntu Server 10.04 I also host a few game servers (rather than having wasted CPU time :-D) for some of my friends. These game servers I run in the game user account and each one has it's own screen session (so friends can ssh in and reboot the game server etc...). For example screen -R l4d2 runs ./start in the L4D2 folder. However if I reboot the server (which I have to do occasionally) all these sessions close and I have to manually create all the screen sessions and run the required games within them. Is there a way to set these screen sessions as Daemons or services or just boot on server start so they restart themselves on server reboot? • "Directory index forbidden by Options directive" when deleting or renaming folders through webdav

  I am trying to delete folders through webdav but all I get is 403 on the client and "Directory index forbidden by Options directive" in the Apache error log. I enabled "options indexes" for the folder and I stopped getting the errors in either the client or the log, but I still can't rename or delete folders through webdav. Any ideas why I'm unable to edit folders through webdav? I am running WAMP, default installation with Apache 2.2.17. I can connect, create files, delete files, rename them, etc. I can create folders but not delete them or rename them, once they're created. On the access log, whenever I try to delete, I get this: "DELETE /uploads/shahs HTTP/1.1" 301 243 On the error log, I get: Directory index forbidden by Options directive: The Webdav client gives a 403 when trying to delete or rename folders. Once, I added "options indexes," I stopped getting the error message in the Apache error log and the 403 on the webdav client, but now, deleting or renaming does nothing. No error messages, but nothing happens, at all.

Right-click it to run the module into a new instance of NetBeans IDE. In the Options window's Miscellaneous tab, there's a Gradle subtab for setting the Gradle location. In the New File dialog, in the Other category, you'll find a template named "Empty Gradle file". Make sure to name it "build" and to put it in the root directory of the application (by leaving the Folder field empty, you're specifying it should be created in the root directory). You'll then be able to expand the build.gradle file: Double-click a task to run it. When you open the file, it opens in the Groovy editor, if the Groovy editor is installed. When you make changes in the file, the list of tasks, shown above, is automatically recreated. It's at a really early stage of development and it would be great if developers out there would be interested in adding more features to it.

• Recommended storage scheme for home server? (LVM/JBOD/RAID 5...)

  Are there any guidelines for which storage scheme(s) makes most sense for a multiple-disk home server? I am assuming a separate boot/OS disk (so bootability is not a concern, this is for data storage only) and 4-6 storage disks of 1-2 TB each, for a total storage capacity in the range 4-12 TB. The file system is ext4, I expect there will be only one big partition spanning all disks. As far as I can tell, the alternatives are individual disks pros: works with any combination of disk sizes; losing a disk loses only the data on that disk; no need for volume management. cons: data management is clumsy when logical units (like a "movies" folder) are larger than the capacity of any single drive. JBOD span pros: can merge disks of any size. cons: losing a disk loses all data on all disks LVM pros: can merge disks of any size; relatively simple to add and remove disks. cons: losing a disk loses all data on all disks RAID 0 pros: speed cons: losing one drive loses all data; disks must be same size RAID 5 pros: data survives losing one disk cons: gives up one disk worth of capacity; disks must be same size RAID 6 pros: data survives losing two disks cons: gives up two disks worth of capacity; disks must be same size I'm primarily considering either LVM or JBOD span simply because it will let me reuse older, smaller-capacity disks when I upgrade the system. The runner-up is RAID 0 for speed. I'm planning on having full backups to a separate system, so I expect the extra redundancy from RAID levels 5 or 6 won't be important. Is this a fair representation of the alternatives? Are there other considerations or alternatives I have missed? And what would you recommend?

  Hi, I am trying to setup the vacation.pl script on a mail servers which has local users only (since they are only 10 users). I have installed the SquirrelMail plugin and the Auto respond option is available for the users, but when an email is sent to the addresses no auto reply email is sent to the sender. There are also no logs on the /var/log/vacation folder which i created as well as the normal log files.   We have some workstations that will not import hardware inventory into the SCCM 2007 database. What I've done: Client - verified workstation object is discovered in SCCM - installed ccm client on workstation - manually ran hardware inventory action - verifed Inventory report was sent successfully "Successfully sent report Destination:mp:MP_HinvEndpoint, ID ..... - watched file on client enter and exit temp folder on client. - successfully ran MP Spy to verify client communicates with server - uninstalled client, deleted ccm and ccmsetup folders and reinstalled. Server - no entries in MP_Hinv.log file that coorespond with time stamp of workstation - no entries in dataldr.log file that coorespond with time stamp of workstation Where are these files going? All T/S blogs expect entries in these logs. This is driving me crazy.

• The best way to learn how to extend Orchard

  We do have tutorials on the Orchard site, but we can't cover all topics, and recently I've found myself more and more responding to forum questions by pointing people to an existing module that was solving a similar problem to the one the question was about. I really like this way of learning by example and from the expertise of others. This is one of the reasons why we decided that modules would by default come in source code form that we compile dynamically. it makes them easy to understand and easier to modify for your own purposes. Hackability FTW! But how do you crack open a module and look at what's inside? You can do it in two different ways. First, you can just install the module from the gallery, directly from your Orchard instance's admin panel. Once you've done that, you can just look into your Modules directory under the web site. There is now a subfolder with the name of the new module that contains a csproj that you can open in Visual Studio or add to your Orchard solution. Second, you can simply download the package (it's NuGet) and rename it to a .zip extension. NuGet being based on Zip, this will open just fine in Windows Explorer: What you want to dig into is the Content/Modules/[NameOfTheModule] folder, which is where the actual code is. • Not allowed to upload .HTML files to my own DNN Site: Is it normal?

  My Question: Our webhost provider wont make it so we can upload .html files to our DNN site trhough the DNN File Manager page. Is that normal, should I push them to allow me to do this? We have recently transferred our website to a Dot Net Nuke run website. We originally had our website on a Linux server with Python scripts handling the backend. Obviously we now have a Windows server running .NET with ASP .NET code on the backend. Our webhost is a local Australian company. And they are saying we cant upload any .html files to the main part of the server, ie, www.ourdomain.com/Portals/0/. They are saying that the only place I can upload .html files is via FTP to this folder *www.ourdomain.com/Portals/0/html_content* This is a major problem for me because I am trying to upload my own skin which means I need to upload a main.html file to www.ourdomain.com/Portals/0/skins/myskin/ but they wont let me?! I guess what I am asking is, is this normal practice, why would they not allow this? As an experienced web admin for Linux servers and as someone who is used to being able to do whatever I want on my OWN server this is someing that really pis$%s me off!

• OpenVPN Setup - Service Won't Start

  I'm in the process of setting up OpenVPN on a VPS running Debian 6. I've walked step-by-step through this guide twice now, and I can't get the service to start. When I start the service, the error reported in the log file is: Cannot ioctl TUNSETIFF tun: Inappropriate ioctl for device (errno=25) I've searched the web a few times and I'm not finding anything helpful. I've tried: Changing file permissions: no change Deleting the file: get an error stating no file found (errno=2) Making a folder named "tun": get an error stating no file found (errno=2) I've wiped my installation and completed the steps verbatim twice now. I get no errors along the way, just the error above within my log file. The contents of my server.conf file are listed below, minus all the comments for brevity. • Web Applications under Apache Tomcat with multiple directory contexts

  I have two webapps, prod-1.2.1.war and test-2.0.0.war. If I put these straight into the "tomcat/webapps"-folder, they'll get deployed as; hXXp://localhost/prod-1.2.1/ hXXp://localhost/test-2.0.0/ This works but really I would like them to show up as; hXXp://localhost/vegshop/prod/ hXXp://localhost/vegshop/test/ As you see I somehow would like the "vegshop" to be included in the context path. I also would like the version-numbering to disappear without having to rename the WAR-files. Thank you. This is Apache Tomcat v6.0 under Linux 2.6, running SUN JDK 1.6.
