  • how to pass vector objects from one class to another

    I am trying to make a program that generates bids automatically, then pack them into a vector and send them to the auctioneer.The simulator class, the simulator can then pass the bids to the auctioneer.How do I implement this communication.I thinking of sending the all vector conatiner of bids to the simulator.Can anyone demostrate a better way of sening vector objects from one class to another.

  • "Slice" out one element from a python dictionary

    I have a dictionary: D = { "foo" : "bar", "baz" : "bip" } and I want to create new dictionary that has a copy of one of it's elements k. So if k = "baz": R = { "baz" : "bip" } what I'v got now is: R = { k : D[k] } But in my case k is a complex expression and I've got a whole stack of these. Caching k in a temporary looks about as ugly as the original option. What I'm looking for is a better (cleaner) way to do this.

  • "Ambiguous column name" error on one particular server

    This simple query throws the "Ambiguous column name TaskID" error on one db-server only. This is ridiculous. We tested this with the same database structure on different servers and different versions of ms sql (2005/2008), and it's only THIS particular client's server that throws the error. I'm actually frustrated. SELECT Tasks.TaskID FROM Tasks INNER JOIN TaskHelpers ON TaskHelpers.TaskID = Tasks.TaskID order by TaskID Yes, I know I can put "Tasks.TaskID" into the order by clause, but for some reasons I can't.

    Hello Everybody, I've got a question regarding a SQL-select-query: The table contains several columns, one of which is an Integer-column called "size" - the task I'm trying to perform is query the table for the sum of all rows (their values), or to be more exact get a artifical column in my ResultSet called "overallSize" which contains the sum of all "size"-values in the table. Preferable it would be possible to use a WHERE-clause to add only certain values ("WHERE bla = 5" or something similar). The DB-engine is HSQLDB (HyperSQL), which is compliant to SQL2008.     One of my utility jar files is used by different nix scripts, located in different categories. Problem: unable to initialize log4j framework (unable to find log4j.xml). Solution, that allows to configure logger correctly while launching jar classes by different scripts - usage of env vars and force configuring using DOMConfigurtor.configure(pathToConfXml) method. is it possible to avoid path hardcoding and configure logger inside of a script?     What is the "computer science" term for the practice of assigning a special meaning to one of a type's values. For example a numeric variable called "amount_to_transfer" where the special value "0" means "entire account balance" or a date value "spouse_date_of_birth" where "1/1/1800" means "unmarried".   • Problem running Apache-Tomcat on every web browser installed in Windows 7

    Hello everyone, I'm working on a web application in JSP and my web container is Apache Tomcat 7.0.2 (Its portable cross-platform version). As I've made extensive use of HTML5-CSS3 and my target browser is Google Chrome, I'm able to run the the Apache server only in Opera web browser, neither of the remaining installed browser run it. Here's the steps I have followed to start the server in my Windows 7 machine. -Placing the 'apache-tomcat-7.0.2' directory on my root partition (i.e. C: Drive) -Execute 'startup.bat' from 'bin' directory in it. (startup.sh if on Linux/Unix). -Then, a Console window opens that shows log during the setup of server (separately from Command Prompt), and I need to keep that console running in order to keep the Apache server running, so I minimize it. -Then, I open 'http://localhost:8080/' in various web browsers, and I could see Apache Server Homepage with same address only in Opera Web Browser (11.01), neither of other browsers installed can open it (Chrome 9, Firefox 4 Beta 10 or IE8). -I also tried other port numbers, but none of them worked. What can I do to make Apache run in every browser installed in my computer? I have my computer dual boot with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10, and in Ubuntu, every web browser installed can run Apache once I start it, but same is not working in Windows.
