• How to set up a SPF record?

  The clients on my VPS are all getting spammed. The spam seemingly comes from their own email addresses - it is clear that somehow something got into my VPS and was able to capture all the email addresses that existed and is now using them to send spam. I was advised to set up a SPF record, but I am unsure what this is or how to go about it. After reading, I have figured out how to create one in CPanel, but I cannot find what to do with it now. Do I copy it into somewhere in my DNS records in Zone Management? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Gamification: designing cooperation in an RPG like game based on Scrum methodology

  I have implemented with 3 friends a gamified system at my work (development company) which builds an fantasy rpg game over scrum project methodology. Generally, the tasks are the missions, each player is represented by a character. They earn XPs for completing tasks and they advance to the next levels which gives them badges, titles and (this is in planning phase) new privileges (e.g. priority in choosing tasks). Since the very beginning we try to do everything to avoid rivalisation between players because it would ruin the project if the players started to compete. There are no explicit leaderboards, we also plan to give bonuses for helping other players. I have a feeling that this is still not enough to really encourage cooperation. I would like to ask You for any ideas that come to Your mind that would help.

• jungledisk fails with libnotify error

  Has anyone had success getting the jungledisk application to work under Ubuntu? I installed it from the .deb file provided by jungledisk. The install goes fine, but I can't get the "jungle disk desktop" app to launch. It appears in the dash search bar, but doesn't launch or do anything upon selecting it. When I try the command line, I get the following... $ jungledisk -V -f Verbose mode enabled Shutting down... $ I get something more interesting with the following command ... something about libnotify.so $ junglediskdesktop -V -f junglediskdesktop: error while loading shared libraries: libnotify.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Does anyone have suggestions for what to try?

  I'm an absolute beginner in cocos2 , actually i started dealing with it yesterday. What i'm trying to do is moving an image along Bezier curve. In the beginning it's moving slowly and then it accelerates gradually and at the end it's moving really fast. What should i do to get rid of this acceleration?

I currently have a single-GPU machine (it is an Nvidia adapter) with dual monitor outputs. I would like to add the DisplayLink adapter to drive a third external monitor.   Since HLSL/Cg do not allow texture fetching inside conditional blocks, I am first checking a variable and performing some computations, afterwards setting a float flag to 0.0 or 1.0, depending on the computations. I'd like to trigger a texture fetch only if the flag is 1.0 or not null, for that matter of fact. I kind of hoped this would do the trick: float4 TU0_atlas_colour = pseudoBool * tex2Dlod(TU0_texture, float4(tileCoord, 0, mipLevel)); That is, if pseudoBool is 0, will the texture fetch function still be called and produce overhead? I was hoping to prevent it from getting executed via this trick that usually works in plain C/C++.

  Hi all, I've been annoyed by this fingers ache for quite a long time, my fingers ache because of too much mouse clicking during office hour plus play games after work. I forget game for a while and my fingers are getting better, but still my right pointing finger would feel pressure when I click the mouse. I haven't go to a doctor because I afraid the fee would be high and he would just suggest me too get rest for the fingers, also, I don't know what kind of doctor should I go and see. My fingers get less pressure if I use my expensive deathadder ( what a shame, I bought this for gaming, but now I use it for rest ) at home because its buttons are softer, however I cannot have such expensive mouse at my office because I am afraid people would steal it. I use some trick when I am using the mouse such as single-click open a file, adding more shortcuts at desktop for common jobs, do you guys have some other tips for me? Thank you.

Question: What is a good way to block a small set of blacklisted IP addresses from accessing my site? I was thinking it should be possible using .htaccess to respond with status code 403 (Forbidden) for all HTTP requests from the blacklisted IP addresses, ... but I am not sure exactly how to do that. • File system maintenance error, press ctrl+d to continue

  In my office I've Ubuntu 8.10 desktop installed and it's running for a long time. When ever the system is started, I'll get a file system maintenance error and something it's prompted for the root password or (press ctrl+d to continue). After pressing Ctrl+D the system normally boots up. I could not resolve this issue for a long time and I think something should be done in the fstab file. I'm not sure to do anything and expecting the experts here to help to perfectly fix this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  I've just started learning DirectX with the book "3D Game Programming with DirectX". I just finished setting up all the paths and adding the code to the project which I think I did correctly, but I get this massive error which I don't really understand and is hard to google.   Many lives ago, I created a GPG key to sign the Ubuntu Code of Conduct on Launchpad. I haven't really used it since. Some time later, I backed up my home and started fresh. That was all back in 2009. I still have the backup but now I'm starting to play around with Quickly and upload things to Launchpad, I could really do with having my PGP key back.   I know this is not really the right place for this type of question, but I figure it will get me started and hopefully won't be closed right off the bat. I love the programming industry a lot, but I don't have many colleagues that aren't introverted and/or anti-social, or self-centered. What are some good places online to find programming friends that I could share my adventures with? I love stack overflow but it is more technical and doesn't really allow you to put up a personal project just for people to see and critique. Any suggestions? A good forum would be great! The only ones I can find are usually full of inexperienced people who just "want" to be a programmer. I'm looking more for a place who's members are already programmers discussing programming topics.

I always end up with a very tight coupling between my UI logic and the actual controls I use to represent them. I have background in both WPF MVVM and ASP.net MVC so I'm familiar with those patterns. After some digging, I found Android Binding. It seems nice and fits nicely with my WPF background. However, it bugs me that its not built in. I'm pretty sure that the android makers have thought of this when designing the android programming interface. So my question is, what is the best practice pattern to use when developing in android, if any. I have looked and looked at their site but didn't find anything...

  I have just started with XNA development on Windows. But as I'm a fan of iOS I had to try porting my test code over to Monotouch on the Mac. And it really doesn't answer open topics like: why would I copy all the XNB files and in addition all the resources, like PNGs? • when will google revert back page rank after i cleared network unrechable error

  For the past one month i was getting network unreachable error. I contacted my web hosting and they said that google bots were blocked if it were causing more traffic. And then they witelisted google bots. Now the errors did not appear but my ranking and search results went down to more than 6 pages or they did not appear at all. Now google is able to read my robots and sitemap. Just yesterday. when will search results and page rank gets to its previous positions? like it were before a month? Most links did not appear in google search result.

• cPanel email doesn't seem to work - error 550?

  I am fairly new to the web hosting game, so bear with me :) Recently set up a VPS with cPanel and WHM. Everything is going well so far, I've created a user domain and transferred my website there, managed a couple of databases with phpmyadmin, everything was going great until I started messing around with email. I made an email account [email protected] through cPanel, although when I try and email this address I get the following error: Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Unknown user (state 13) Quite unsure of what to do next, in all honesty.

  So I was talking to one of my friends, Cathy Dew, and I’m wondering how to start out this post.  What kind of title should I put?  Somehow we’re just randomly throwing things out and this title pops into my head the one you see above. I woke up today to the buzz of a text message.  I spent New Years laying around until 3 am watching Warehouse 13 Episodes and drinking champagne.  It was one of the best New Year’s I spent with my boyfriend and my cat.  I figured I would sleep in until Noon, but ended up waking up around 11:15 to that text message buzz.  I guess my DE, Rachel Appel, had texted me “Happy New Years”, because Rachel is that kind of person.  I immediately proceeded to check my email.  I noticed my live account had a hit.  The account I rarely ever use had an email.  I sort of had that sinking suspicion I was going to get Silverlight MVP right?  So I open the email and something out of the blue happens it says “blah blah blah SharePoint Server MVP blah blah…”.  I’m sitting here a little confused what?  Really?  Just about when you give up on something the unexplained happens.  I am grateful for what I have every day. So let me tell you a story.  I was a senior in high school and it was December 31st, 1999.  A couple days prior my grandmother was complaining she had a cold and her assisted living facility was not going to let her see a doctor.  She claimed to be very sick.  New Year’s Eve Day 1999 my grandmother was rushed to the hospital sometime very early in the morning.  My uncle, my little brother, and myself were sitting in the waiting room eagerly awaiting news.  The Sydney Opera House was playing in the background as New Years 2000 for Australia was ringing in.  They come out and they tell us my grandmother has pneumonia.  She is in the ICU in critical condition.  Eventually time passes in the day and my parents take my brother and I home.  So in the car we had a huge fight that ended in the worst new years of my life.  The next 30 days were the worst 30 days of my life.  I went to the hospital every single day to do my homework and watch my grandmother.  Each day was a challenge mentally and physically as my grandmother berated me in her demented state.  On the 30th day my grandmother ended up in critical condition in the ICU maxed out on painkillers.  At approximately 3 am I hear my parents telling me they don’t want to wake me up and that my grandmother had passed away.  I must have cried more collectively that day than any other day in my life.  Every New Years Even since I have cried thinking about who she was and what she represented.  She was human looking back she wasn’t anything great, but she was one of the positive lights in my life.  Her and my dad and my other grandmother constantly tried to make me feel great when my mother was telling me the opposite.  I’d like to think since 2000 the past 11 years have been the best 11 years of my life.  I got out of a bad situation by using the tools that I had in front of me.  Good grades and getting into a college so I could aspire to be the person that I wanted to be.  I had some great people along the way to help me out. So getting to the point I like to help people further there lives somehow in the best way I can possibly help out.  This New Years was one of the great years that helped me forget the past and focus on the present.  It makes me realize how far I’ve come since high school and even since college.  The one thing I’ve been grappling with over the years is how do you feel good about making money while helping others out.  I’d to think I try really hard to give back to my community.  I could not have done what I did without other people’s help.  I sent out an email prior to even announcing I got the award today.  I can’t say I did everything on my own.  It’s not possible.  I had the help of others every step of the way.  I’m not sure if this makes sense but the award can’t just be mine.  This award is really owned by each and everyone who helped me get here.  From my dad to my grandmother to Rachel Appel to Bob Hunt to Jason Gallicchio to Cathy Dew to Mark Rackley to Johnny Ennion to Lee Brandt to Jeff Julian to John Alexander to Lori Gowin and to many others.  Thank you guys for all the help and support.
