    I need to read depth buffer from GPU and write it to texture. How this can be done?   • What Design Pattern is separating transform converters

    For converting a Java object model into XML I am using the following design: For different types of objects (e.g. primitive types, collections, null, etc.) I define each its own converter, which acts appropriate with respect to the given type. This way it can easily extended without adding code to a huge if-else-then construct. The converters are chosen by a method which tests whether the object is convertable at all and by using a priority ordering. The priority ordering is important so let's say a List is not converted by the POJO converter, even though it is convertable as such it would be more appropriate to use the collection converter. What design pattern is that? I can only think of a similarity to the command pattern.

  • Is there a data structure for this type of list/map?

    Perhaps there's a name for what I want, but I'm not aware of it. I need something similar to a LinkedHashMap in Java, but where it returns the 'previous' value if there's no value at the specified key. That is, I have a list of objects stored by an integer key (which is in units of time in my case): ; key->value 10->A 15->B 20->C So, if I were to query for a value for key 0-9, it would return null. The special part is if I queried for something 10 <= i <= 14 it would return A. Or, for i = 20, it would return C. Is there a data structure for this?

    I wonder if there are benign use-cases for simulating mouse clicks using event.initMouseEvent. I found that it is used for creating pop-under ads in the following way: var e = document.createEvent('MouseEvents'); e.initMouseEvent('click', true, true, window, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, true, false, false, true, 0, null); a.dispatchEvent(e); This code simulates a click on the opening browser window, to force the newly opened window beneath it. Evil. I'm thinking of simply preventing all simulated clicks in my own browser via a browser extension, but I wonder if I might break useful websites and behavior in the process. Therefore I wonder what situations justify simulating mouse clicks, and if there are big sites that use it in non-evil ways.

  • Cannot get grub menu to timeout (or go away)

    I am running Ubuntu 12.04. I cannot for the life of me get the grub menu (with options) to go away. I would like it to auto-boot into the first option. I've edited /etc/default/grub so that it looks like the following: GRUB_DEFAULT=0 GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0 GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true GRUB_TIMEOUT=10 GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian` GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" After this, I ran sudo update-grub. Then I realized that I had grub 2, so I ran sudo update-grub2 (both make it look like they create the grub.cfg file successfully. I restart my computer and it goes back to the grub menu and just sits there until I make a choice. This is not desirable if the power goes out... :-) I also tried reinstalling grub using sudo grub-install /dev/sda - also unsuccessful

  • Why can't I get 100% code coverage on a method that calls a constructor of a generic type?

    Today I came across a wierd issue in a Visual Studio 2008 Code Coverage Analysis. Consider the following method:  private IController GetController<T>(IContext context) where T : IController, new() {     IController controller = new T();     controller.ListeningContext = context;     controller.Plugin = this;     return controller; } This method is called in a unit test as follows (MenuController has an empty constructor): controller = plugin.GetController<MenuController>(null);  After calling this method from a Unit Test, the following code coverage report is generated: As you can see, Code Coverage is only 85%. Looking up the code results in the following: Apparently, the call to the constructor of the generic type is considered only partly covered. WHY? Google didn't help. And MSDN didn't help at all, of course. Anybody who does know?

  • How to remove items from an arraylist without shrinking the list [migrated]

    I have a case where I am using the ArrayList to keep a list of items that are keyed by their position in the list. Other objects reference the ArrayList items by their position. If I delete one of the items from the list, I don't want the list to shrink because that would invalidate all other references to items in the list (e.g. item 2 is now in position 1). My solution to the shrinking array list problem is to null the position in the arraylist so that the list will not shrink. I am curious whether this will free the memory formerly held by the item at that position. If there is a better way to accomplish this requirement, I would like to know about it.

  • What is auto-mounting my media volume?

    Something is repeatedly mounting my "media" share, doing something with it, then quietly un-mounting it with no notifications at the user level. from the little I can gleaned from the console messages below, I thought I'd managed to stop it, if not understand it last night when I followed instructions for deleting all traces of the Google Update Daemon. I've not been using any Google apps whatsoever, so I was surprised to see that in Console. What's more surprising, and perhaps a little distressing, is that the same thing occurred this evening, when the Google Daemon is long gone. I don't have that log because I can't recall precisely what time it occurred. I'll do a search and provide it if you wish, though. In the meantime, any help with this would be extremely appreciated. I've asked over at Apple Discussions but I think it might be a little deeper than those manning the boards this weekend are comfortable with. It's certainly beyond my meager skills.     I have a view model that looks like this: namespace AutoForm.Models { public class ProductViewModel { [UIHint("DropDownList")] public String Category { get; set; } [ScaffoldColumn(false)] public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> CategoryList { get; set; } ... } } It has Category and CategoryList properties. The CategoryList is the source data for the Category dropdown UI element. I have an EditorTemplate that looks like this: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<ProductViewModel>" %> <%@ Import Namespace="AutoForm.Models"%> <%=Html.DropDownListFor(m => m.Category , Model.CategoryList ) %> NOTE: this EditorTemplate is strongly typed to ProductViewModel My Controller is populating CategoryList property with data from a database. I cannot get the DropDownListFor template to render a drop down list with data from CategoryList. I know CategoryList is getting populated with data in the controller because I see the data when I debug and step through the controller. Here's my error message in the browser: Server Error in '/' Application. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. I'm perplexed as to why ViewData.Model is null even though it's getting populated in the controller before getting passed to the view.

    I'm using the Kendo UI ComboBoxes in cascade mode to build up a filter that I wish to apply. How do I clear/reset the value of a Kendo UI ComboBox? I've tried: $("#comboBox").data("kendoComboBox").val(''); $("#comboBox").data("kendoComboBox").select(''); $("#comboBox").data("kendoComboBox").select(null); all to no avail. The project is an MVC4 app using the Razor engine and the code is basically the same as the Kendo UI example.

    Hi I have a template partial view, which used to render a model named VerificationCode, this model has a element 'CaptchaGeneratedText' which is hidden in the view and set value by Html.HiddenFor(m=m.CaptchaGeneratedText, captchaText), the problem is when view post, in the model validation the value of element 'CaptchaGeneratedText' is null, but it should not be as varant 'captchaText' has some value. meanwhile, the other element 'CaptchaUserInput' of this model does have value. Anybody have experienced similiar problem? Sorry I was unable to submit script file.

    My understanding of WithConstructorArgument is probably erroneous, because the following is not working: I have a service, lets call it MyService, whose constructor is taking multiple objects, and a string parameter called testEmail. For this string parameter, I added the following Ninject binding: string testEmail = "[email protected]"; kernel.Bind<IMyService>().To<MyService>().WithConstructorArgument("testEmail", testEmail); However, when executing the following line of code, I get an exception: var myService = kernel.Get<MyService>(); Here is the exception I get: Error activating string No matching bindings are available, and the type is not self-bindable. Activation path: 2) Injection of dependency string into parameter testEmail of constructor of type MyService 1) Request for MyService Suggestions: 1) Ensure that you have defined a binding for string. 2) If the binding was defined in a module, ensure that the module has been loaded into the kernel. 3) Ensure you have not accidentally created more than one kernel. 4) If you are using constructor arguments, ensure that the parameter name matches the constructors parameter name. 5) If you are using automatic module loading, ensure the search path and filters are correct.     Hi, I'm trying to render a radio button list in MVC 2 RC 2 (C#) using the following line: <%= Html.RadioButtonFor(model => Enum.GetNames(typeof(DataCarry.ProtocolEnum)), null) %> but it's just giving me the following exception at runtime: Templates can be used only with field access, property access, single-dimension array index, or single-parameter custom indexer expressions.
