  I want to create simple application using Java Jena and SPARQL ,that insert, delete , update and query the OWL/RDF data I worked on protege to create the ontology and noticed SPARQL in it but I want to use SPARQL using java and jena ... 1) I saw this thread and I knew how to use SPARQL with jena (after http)stackoverflow.com/questions/2267333/using-jena-to-create-a-sparql-query-on-dbpedia it did work with me .. but I want my own ontology to work .. I mean to upload it to server or to work on localhost or whatever ... 2) SPARQL doesn't support operations like update or insert .. but querying is there any other languages/methods that support these operations ? or I should created it manually in java in each application ... 3) how can I upload my ontology and I prefer something related to protege ? because I tried this which got bug : (after http )semweb.krasu.ru/protege2joseki/ and this (which gave me lot of issues) (after http and wwwdot)joseki.org/ nothing work .. 4) RDF-store ... is for just RDF ? because I am working on OWL files .. If you want to invoke the js function on some adf ui component then you will have to include a client listener tag with js function name and the event type.If you want it to happen on a non adf html based compoent then you can have an anchor tag  specified with the javascript tag , event type and js function name (with parameters - if any) and as soon as the specifed action happens on that component then the js function would be invoked.2.if you want it in adf page fragment (jsff)  - jsff supports java script wrapped under <trh:script> </trh:script> tag. Rest of the things follow the same way as that of jspx.

  Hi I'm trying to unittest several MVP implementations and can't quite figure out the best way to mock the view. I'll try to boil it down. The view IView consists e.g. of a property of type IControl. interface IView { IControl Control1 { get; } IControl Control2 { get; } } interface IControl { bool Enabled { get; set; } object Value { get; set; } } My question is whether there's a simple way to setup the property behavior for Enabled and Value on the IControl interface members on the IView interface - like recursive mocking a guess. I would rather not setup expectations for all my properties on the view (quite a few on each view). Thanks in advance

• Why does keyboard-slide crash my app?

  If I physically slide out the keyboard on my Moto Droid A855, it crashes my test app with the stack trace pasted below. I don't understand why? Also, if I start my app with the keyboard out, my app crashes immediately on startup. The app consists of an activity, which contains a viewflipper as the main view layout. • In Seam what's the difference between injected EntityManager and getEntityManager from EntityHome

  I am testing a Seam application using the needle test API. In my code I am using the getEntityManager() method from EntityHome. When I run the unit tests against an in memory database I get the following exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No application context active at org.jboss.seam.Component.forName(Component.java:1945) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:2005) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:1983) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:1977) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:1972) at org.jboss.seam.framework.Controller.getComponentInstance(Controller.java:272) at org.jboss.seam.framework.PersistenceController.getPersistenceContext(PersistenceController.java:20) at org.jboss.seam.framework.EntityHome.getEntityManager(EntityHome.java:177) etc .. I can resolve some of these errors by injecting the EntityManager with @In EntityManager entityManager; Unfortunately the persist method of EntityHome also calls the getEntityManager. This means a lot of mocks or rewriting the code somehow. Is there any workaround and why is this exception thrown anyway? I am using Seam 2.2.0 GA by the way. There is nothing special about the components. They are generated by seam-gen. The test is performed with in memory database - I followed the examples in http://jbosscc-needle.sourceforge.net/jbosscc-needle/1.0/db-util.html.

• Is it possible in any Java IDE to collapse the type definitions in the source code?

  Lately I often have to read Java code like this: LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> totals = new LinkedHashMap<String, Integer>(listOfRows.get(0)) for (LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> row : (ArrayList<LinkedHashMap<String,Integer>>) table.getValue()) { for(Entry<String, Integer> elem : row.entrySet()) { String colName=elem.getKey(); int Value=elem.getValue(); int oldValue=totals.get(colName); int sum = Value + oldValue; totals.put(colName, sum); } } Due to the long and nested type definitions the simple algorithm becomes quite obscured. So I wished I could remove or collapse the type definitions with my IDE to see the Java code without types like: totals = new (listOfRows.get(0)) for (row : table.getValue()) { for(elem : row.entrySet()) { colName=elem.getKey(); Value=elem.getValue(); oldValue=totals.get(colName); sum = Value + oldValue; totals.put(colName, sum); } } The best way of course would be to collapse the type definitions, but when moving the mouse over a variable show the type as a tooltip. Is there a Java IDE or a plugin for an IDE that can do this?

• Should maven generate jaxb java code or just use java code from source control?

  We're trying to plan how to mash together a build server for our shiny new java backend. We use a lot of jaxb XSD code generation and I was getting into a heated argument with whoever cared that the build server should delete jaxb created structures that were checked in generate the code from XSD's use code generated from those XSD's Everyone else thought that it made more sense to just use the code they checked in (we check in the code generated from the XSD because Eclipse pretty much forces you to do this as far as I can tell). My only stale argument is in my reading of the Joel test is that making the build in one step means generating from the source code and the source code is not the java source, but the XSD's because if you're messing around with the generated code you're gonna get pinched eventually. So, given that we all agree (you may not agree) we should probably be checking in our generate java files, should we use them to generate our code or should we generate it using the XSD's?

• Connect from java mobile application to webservice to read messages.

  Hello, I have a website where users can send personal messages between them, now I want them to recieve the messages also on their mobile phone but without having to send them a SMS. I am thinking about providing them with a mobile phone with internet access over GPRS or 3G, then develop a Java application that will connect to the website and retrieve the messages. On the website I am thinking to make a webservice where the phone will login, get new messages, and also be able to answer back to messages. Does anyone know any mobile application tutorial that will do that? Or do you recommend me where to start? I never done a java mobile application before, I only work with websites and PHP. I also tried to use ICQ, the client is already done for java and for iphone, and I've also found a script that will send ICQ messages from PHP, but ICQ server bans you for 20 minutes when you do many reconnections, so I have to develop some kind of ICQ bot always online that will check for new messages to send from the mySQL database and then send them, one per 2-3 seconds, so the server won't ban me for flooding. Well any advice or recommendation is welcome about how to have users connected to the website messaging system from their phones. Thank you!

• Call to C++ COM interface from C# being blocked

  I have a C++ DLL that exposes a COM interface. A C# application uses the COM interface. I've recently run into a problem where some calls to the COM interface are taking 500-5000 ms to return, though they should return almost instantly (no longer than 10 ms). Profiling the application shows that all of the delay is being caused by the 'thread being blocked;' no other information is available. There are no locks, etc. in my code, so the blocking has to be occurring internally in the COM/interop code. Only one thread interfaces with the COM DLL. Any ideas what could be causing this, and how I would fix it? EDIT: Further investigation shows that the block is occuring when the C++ returns to the C#.

• What's the best way to read a UDT from a database with Java?

  I thought I knew everything about UDTs and JDBC until someone on SO pointed out some details of the Javadoc of java.sql.SQLInput and java.sql.SQLData JavaDoc to me. The essence of that hint was (from SQLInput): An input stream that contains a stream of values representing an instance of an SQL structured type or an SQL distinct type. This interface, used only for custom mapping, is used by the driver behind the scenes, and a programmer never directly invokes SQLInput methods. This is quite the opposite of what I am used to do (which is also used and stable in productive systems, when used with the Oracle JDBC driver): Implement SQLData and provide this implementation in a custom mapping to ResultSet.getObject(int index, Map mapping) The JDBC driver will then call-back on my custom type using the SQLData.readSQL(SQLInput stream, String typeName) method. I implement this method and read each field from the SQLInput stream. In the end, getObject() will return a correctly initialised instance of my SQLData implementation holding all data from the UDT. To me, this seems like the perfect way to implement such a custom mapping. Good reasons for going this way: I can use the standard API, instead of using vendor-specific classes such as oracle.sql.STRUCT, etc. I can generate source code from my UDTs, with appropriate getters/setters and other properties My questions: What do you think about my approach, implementing SQLData? Is it viable, even if the Javadoc states otherwise? What other ways of reading UDT's in Java do you know of? E.g. what does Spring do? what does Hibernate do? What does JPA do? What do you do? Addendum: UDT support and integration with stored procedures is one of the major features of jOOQ. jOOQ aims at hiding the more complex "JDBC facts" from client code, without hiding the underlying database architecture. If you have similar questions like the above, jOOQ might provide an answer to you.

There is also a Logger interface that defines the function __call, the latter logs what's needed and then relays the call to the target method. The only difficulty is to make each class, declared in the XML file, implement this interface with __call. • vconfig created virtual interface and trunking - is the the interface untagged or tagged for that VLAN ID?

  I am trying to setup an additional VLAN on our Debian-based router/firewall (which exists as a virtual machine on Hyper-V), our core switch (an HP Procurve 5406) and a remote HP ProCurve 2610 that is connected via a WAN Transparent Lan Service (TLS) link. Let's work backwards from the network edge: The Debian server has an external connection attached to eth0. The internal interface is eth1, which is connected directly from our Hyper-V host to the 5406. The port that eth1 is attached to is setup as Trk12. The 2610 is attached to Trk9 (which trunks a whole slew of VLANs - Trk9 is our TLS head). I can successfully ping the management IP addresses for my VLAN from both switches but I cannot ping, from either switch, the virtual interface for my new VLAN on the Debian-base router and firewall. The existing VLAN works fine. What gives? The port eth1 is attached to is a trunk, the existing VLAN (ID 98) is untagged on the trunk, the new VLAN (ID 198) is tagged. VLAN 198 is tagged on Trk9 on the 5406 and on the 2610. I can ping the other switch's management IP (10.100.198.2 and 10.100.198.3) from the other respective switch. That leg of the VLAN works - however I cannot communicate with eth1.198's 10.100.198.1. I feel like I'm missing something elementary but what it is remains illusive to me. I suspect the issue is with the vconfig created eth1.198. It should pass the tagged VLAN 198 packets correct? But they cannot seem to get any further than the 5406. Communication on the existing VLAN 98 works fine. • How to read/write high-resolution (24-bit, 8 channel) .wav files in Java?

  I'm trying to write a Java application that manipulates high resolution .wav files. I'm having trouble importing the audio data, i.e. converting the .wav file into an array of doubles. When I use a standard approach an exception is thrown. AudioFileFormat as = AudioSystem.getAudioFileFormat(new File("orig.wav")); --> javax.sound.sampled.UnsupportedAudioFileException: file is not a supported file type Here's the file format info according to soxi: dB$ soxi orig.wav soxi WARN wav: wave header missing FmtExt chunk Input File : 'orig.wav' Channels : 8 Sample Rate : 96000 Precision : 24-bit Duration : 00:00:03.16 = 303526 samples ~ 237.13 CDDA sectors File Size : 9.71M Bit Rate : 24.6M Sample Encoding: 32-bit Floating Point PCM Can anyone suggest the simplest method for getting this audio into Java? I've tried using a few techniques. As stated above, I've experimented with the Java AudioSystem (on both Mac and Windows). I've also tried using Andrew Greensted's WavFile class, but this also fails (WavFileException: Compression Code 3 not supported). One workaround is to convert the audio to 16 bits using sox (with the -b 16 flag), but this is suboptimal since it increases the noise floor. Incidentally, I've noticed that the file CAN be read by libsndfile. Is my best bet to write a jni wrapper around libsndfile, or can you suggest something quicker? Note that I don't need to play the audio, I just need to analyze it, manipulate it, and then write it out to a new .wav file. * UPDATE * I solved this problem by modifying Andrew Greensted's WavFile class. His original version only read files encoded as integer values ("format code 1"); my files were encoded as floats ("format code 3"), and that's what was causing the problem. I'll post the modified version of Greensted's code when I get a chance. In the meantime, if anyone wants it, send me a message.

• why won't Eclipse use the compiler I specify for my project?

  I'm using Eclipse 3.3. In my project, I've set the compiler compliance level to 5.0 In the build path for the project. I've added the Java 1.5 JDK in the Installed JREs section and am referencing that System Library in my project build path. However, I'm getting compile errors for a class that implements PreparedStatement for not implementing abstract methods that only exist in Java 1.6 PreparedStatement. Specifically, the methods setAsciiStream(int, InputStream, long) and setAsciiStream(int, InputStream) Strangely enough, it worked when we were compiling it against Java 1.4, which it was originally written for. We added the JREs for Java 1.4 and referenced that system library in the project, and set the project's compiler level to 1.4, and it works fine. But when I do the same changes to try to point to Java 5.0, it instead uses Java 6. Any ideas why? I wrote a similar question earlier, here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2540548/how-do-i-get-eclipse-to-use-a-different-compiler-version-for-java I know how you're supposed to choose a different compiler but it seems Eclipse isn't taking it. It seems to be defaulting to Java 6, even though I have deleted all Java 6 JDKs and JREs that I could find. I've also updated the -vm option in my eclipse.ini to point to the Java5 JDK.

• are there java based auto-updating tools other than WebStart & Eclipse P2?

  Hi, I am working on a java based application and we are looking to ease our deployment of updates. Up until now, we've always simply sent out new install packs & had the sysadmin's on our customer sites roll out the upgrades - painful for a large number of users. what I'd like to do is something similar to java webstart (or eclipse p2) - when the application starts, it checks for updates in a specified location and then downloads the updates prior to starting. But here's my problem - I want more control over what's done outside of the scope of plugins & jar files. For example: I'd like to be able to upate my JVM (we ship a modified version with additional security features). I need to install DLL's - possibly local to the jar files, sometimes to windows Occasiontally run MSI's to install windows components (e.g. printer drivers). I need to modify config files & the registry. I have found a few applications that support this (such as AppLifeUpdate at http://www.kineticjump.com/) but they tend to be .NET focused and it seems a bit perverse to introduce a .NET dependancy on a java application ;) I know I could write my own here, but if there is already a 3rd party library out there that supports this kind of facility, then it would make my life a lot easier. So, has anyone else had a similar problem & knows of some products I could look at? Thanks, Brian.
