    Hello, I am using prototype to load external js file (actually it is php file) dynamically. Like this: function UpdateJS(file) { var url = 'main_js.php?file='+file; var myAjax = new Ajax.Request( url, {method: 'get', onComplete: showResponseHeader} ); } function showResponseHeader (originalRequest) { $('jscode').innerHTML = originalRequest.responseText; } Container "jscode" is defined like this: <script type="text/javascript" id="jscode"></script> And it works! But if some different file is called, all the functions from previous one are preserved. And I don't want that. Anybody knows how to "unload" first js file when second one is called? (I also tried using Ajax.Updater function but the result is the same.) Update: It turns out that there is bigger problem: it only loads if function "UpdateJS" is in window.onload that is why it doesn't load anything else after that. So prototypes update it's maybe not such a good way for this...

    hi, i have a form with 2 fields username: password: and a submit button. the user will enter his username and password for a remote website(not my website or my domain. eg. Gmail.com). i want once he click the submit button.a jQuery script check these login info on gmail.com and return back the result.they are wrong or working logins. and notify the user if it is wrong logins but if it is good working login info the form will submit. i don't know much jQuery but i am good with php. my search find that in order to do that i need to make cross-domain scripting by using php proxy between my jQuery script and the remote domain. i found also the simple php proxy. which looks great.but i dont know how to make the jQuery thing that connects all this together.

    I'm trying to get HTML5's audio tag to work in Chrome. The following code works flawlessly in Firefox, any ideas why it isn't working in Webkit? <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function init(){ audio = new Audio("chat.ogg"); audio.play(); } </script> </head> <body onload="init()"> </body> I should also note that I tried this with an mp3 as well. Regardless of what format, whenever .play() is called on audio, Chrome responds with "undefined".

  • How to use cbreak mode in Ruby terminal application?

    In a small Ruby application, I'd like user input to be accepted without having to wait for a carriage return. My understanding is that cbreak mode needs to be enabled in order for the terminal to feed user input directly into the script. I tried simply running x%[cbreak()] at the top of my script but that didn't work. I've also seen that it's possible to use (n)curses to achieve the same results, although that seems like overkill. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to implement this? Thanks

  • Making Swedish characters show properly in Windows Command Prompt using Python in Notepad++

I have set up Notepad++ to open the Python script in the command prompt when I press F8 but all Swedish characters looks messed up when opening in CMD but perfectly fine in e.g IDLE. This simple example code: #!/usr/bin/env python #-*- coding: UTF-8 -*- print "åäö" Looks like this. As you can see the output of the batch file I use to open Python in cmd below shows the characters correctly but not the Python script above it. How do I fix this?   • Supersized image captions - render outside of JavaScript

    I am using the jQuery supersized script for a full screen slideshow (not the WordPress plugin as this didn't give me enough control). However, one issue that I am trying to tackle is how to render the image caption text outside of the javascript slides[ ] call - and instead, render them within the page div - to improve SEO on the page. My code works fine right now, images and the caption text are correctly displaying, but looking at the source code, there is very little text outside of the javascript (which is bad for SEO), so I would just like to improve it, if possible.   • Having difficulty catching postgresql exception in sequel/ruby

    I have postgresql table that has somekind of unique constraint. I have ruby script that will update this table. The ruby script should be able to switch to UPDATE instead of INSERT when this kind of error occured: PGError: ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint CMIIW, sequel seems cannot catch this exception??   • Is is possible to parse a web page from the client side for a large number of words and if so, how?

    I have a list of keywords, about 25,000 of them. I would like people who add a certain < script tag on their web page to have these keywords transformed into links. What would be the best way to go and achieve this? I have tried the simple javascript approach (an array with lots of elements and regexping/replacing each) and it obviously slows down the browser. I could always process the content server-side if there was a way, from the client, to send the page's content to a cross-domain server script (I'm partial to PHP but it could be anything) but I don't know of any way to do this. Any other working solution is also welcome.

  • What happens to a class in PHP once its been instantiated?

    Hi I'm just playing around with some PHP and was wondering what happens when an object from a class is created within another PHP script? I assume once its created and been processed their is no way of then going back and 'playing' around with it from another script? The idea is i'm trying to create a kind of deck of cards using a card class, each card has specific data that is added to each individual object to make it unique, suit, value etc. Once its created i need to be able to go back to specific cards to use them. In java i'd have an arraylist of card objects, i'm not sure how to approach the same area in PHP. Thanks.

    Hello people, http://www.atwebresults.com/php_ajax_image_upload/ I am using this script for so-called AJAX file upload but which is actually based on opening of iframe and then submitting form from it. What my problem is, I am using this script in a form which will have some other fields too. So after uploading the image, when I click submit at the end of the form, the form is submitted to the file which was opened in iFrame. As I am not an expert in JS, can you guys help me with this? I tried changing the action attribute and tried to completely remove the form too, but nothing helped.
