  • Are there any good sites for blogging about programming?

    - by Jacques Bosch
I have a few programming articles I would like to write, but I do not have a site of my own - yet ;). Is there a site that is specifically geared toward technical / programming topics, with great functionality and style? Or will I have to go with things like wordpress or blogspot? I would like a site that can track number of views and that has an intuitive commenting system. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    - by Ross
    I need my class to create a new blank record when the page opens up the problem I am having is when the page refreshes it keeps incrementing by 1, if I write a session to keep the variable the next time I go back it does not increment. Any ideas? if(!isset($_POST['record_no'])) { echo $_POST['record_no'] = $projects->insert__blank_project(); } else { print "already Set"; }

  • Find Specific Rows

    - by H07R0D
I'm trying to build a rather specific query to find a set of user_ids based on topics they have registered to. Unfortunately it's not possible to refactor the tables so I have to go with what I've got. Single table with user_id and registration_id I need to find all user_ids that have a registration_id of (4 OR 5) AND NOT 1 Each row is a single user_id/registration_id combination. My SQL skills aren't the best, so I'm really scratching my brain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Setting processor to 32-bit mode

    - by dboarman-FissureStudios
It seems that the following is a common method given in many tutorials on switching a processor from 16-bit to 32-bit: mov eax, cr0 ; set bit 0 in CR0-go to pmode or eax, 1 mov cr0, eax Why wouldn't I simply do the following: or cr0, 1 Is there something I'm missing? Possibly the only thing I can think of is that I cannot perform an operation like this on the cr0 register.

  • Get specific process memory space

    - by Saul Rennison
Hi, I have a pointer (void *) to a function and I want to know which process this function belongs to. I have no idea which way to go about it, but I think it's possible by using some form of VirtualQuery trickery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

  • New Bluetooth API question

    - by Ralphz
I have written a small app that puts my bluetooth in discoverable mode for a long time (G1 - API 1.6). I use that along with small program on windows to lock/unlock the computer if the phone is close by. Recently i try to port this app to my nexus one but it seems like i have to pop up the message every 300s to enable device to go to discoverable mode. does anyone know how i can suppress that? I'm ok with saying ok for the first time but not every 300s :)

  • Pulling changes between two separate Mercurial repositories

    - by Rob
I have two versions of a product and am using separate Hg repositories for each. I have made a change to one (v1.0) and I want to pull just that change into the v2.0 repository. How do I go about this? As far as I can tell, using hg pull -f -r xxxxx \\server\hg\v1.0 will pull in all changes up to the specified revision which isn't what I want. Is this possible or will I have to add the fix by hand?

  • How do I programmatically set Integrated Windows Authentication in IIS on a .NET web service?

    - by arc1880
I have a web service project that needs to be set to use Integrated Windows Authentication after installation. Normally, I would install the web service, then manually go to IIS and make sure the box is checked for Integrated Windows Authentication. There has to be a way to do this through code. I have looked up on using the Installer class. It looks like this is something I could use, but I have not found anything on setting properties programmatically in IIS.

  • liferay portal with asp.net

    - by harrisonmeister
Hi This is a java noob related question. Have been looking at Liferay portal technology, however I'm a dotnet (c# or vb) developer by day. Does anyone know if you can use the install of liferay to host dotnet code, not just by using the iFrame method of redirecting to a different site - that just sucks in my opinion Alternatively is the saner option to go down the port my skills back to java? Thanks Mark

  • Is PyOpenGL a good place to start learning opengl programing?

    - by Isaiah
I want to start learning OpenGL but I don't really want to have to learn another language to do it. I already am pretty proficient in python and enjoy the language. I just want to know how close it is to the regular api? Will I be able to pretty easily follow tutorials and books without too much trouble? I know C++ gives better performance, but for just learning can I go wrong with PyOpenGL? Thanks alot
