Hi all I have a site that supports two languages. The way the user changes the language is by clicking on a language link that will change his session language from A to B and return him to the same page. The problem that I am facing is that Google doesn't index the other language since it is seeing that the language link is the same as the page link but with changes in the parameters. So is there a way to inform google of the language, or should I add the language in the url, i.e. www.example.com/A/home?

Hi! Is it possible to get two "editions" of a website both indexed by the major search engines (Google/Yahoo/Bing/Teoma) which differ in content language only and are hosted under different TLDs? Say English content is available at "http://domain.com/", German content at "http://domain.de/". Now, if e.g. Google.com is used I want it to list the "domain.com" entry and vice versa. Is "Duplicate Content" an issue here? Thanks so much for advising me!

I'm trying to import a CSV file that looks like this: POSTAL_CODE_ID,PostalCode,City,Province,ProvinceCode,CityType,Latitude,Longitude 1,A0E2Z0,Monkstown,Newfoundland,NL,D,47.150300000000001,-55.299500000000002 I was able to import this file in my datastore if I import Latitude and Longitude as floats, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to import lat and lng as a GeoPt. (For example, a query for Game would return instances of Chess and Backgammon). Is there any way to accomplish this using Objectify? HTML5 Search Input: No Background Image in Chrome?

I have been pulling my hair out trying to get Chrome to style my search input with a background image. Firefox has no problem, but I fear it's because it treats the input as a regular text input. Is this simply not possible? Try this as a demo: <input type="search" /> ?input[type="search"] { background: transparent url(http://google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/srpr/logo1w.png) no-repeat 0 0; }?????? If it worked correctly, it should put Google's logo (or part of it) as the background image for the "Search" input. But as you will see when you look at this in Chrome, it DOES NOT WORK. Any ideas, or is this just one of HTML5's quirks? :\

UnicodeDecodeError from a GET-parameter in webapp2

I'm getting a UnicodeDecodeError when recieving a GET-parameter from webapp2 that contains unicode characters, and then using it to do a NDB query. I get the same error message when manually running a unicode() on the parameter in the handler, so there either seems to be a problem in webapp2's URL routing or I've missed something. Preferably, all GET-parameters should be converted to unicode before getting passed into the handler so I don't need to do manual conversions in all of my handlers. I actually think it's worked before in an earlier version. The full error message read: UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 1: ordinal not in range(128) The GET-parameter contains the following string: göteborg. It looks fine when I raise an Exception on it, but gives me an error when I (or NDB) use unicode() on it. EDIT: In NDB, it fails on the following code: File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\google_appengine\google\appengine\api\datastore_types.py", line 1562, in PackString pbvalue.set_stringvalue(unicode(value).encode('utf-8')) Thanks.

I'm following the demo code from article of phpsqlgeocode.html In the db, I inserted some Chinese addresses, which is utf8 encode. Hey, I am trying to use the MaxMind GeoLite Country database on the Google App Engine. However, I am having difficulty getting the Java API to work as it relies on the InetAddress class which is not available to use on the App Engine. However, I am not sure if there is a simple workaround as it appears it only uses the InetAddress class to determine the IP of a given hostname. In my case, the hostname is always an IP anyway. What I need is a way to convert an IP address represented as a String into a byte array of network byte order (which the addr.getAddress() method of the InetAddress class provides). This is the code the current API uses, I need to find a way of removing all references to InetAddress whilst ensuring it still works! I am trying to get a list of Products that share the Category. NHibernate returns no product which is wrong. Uploading file to DropBox causing UnlinkedException

I am currently working on android project and trying to enable DropBox functionality. I've selected the access type to App Only, and I can successfully authenticate and it creates an Apps directory and inside that creates a directory with the name of my app. When I then try to put a file in the DropBox directory it goes into the DropBoxException catch and in the logcat prints com.dropbox.client2.exception.DropboxUnlinkedException. I've done a google and from what I've seen this happens if the apps directory has been deleted and so authentication is required to be re-done, but this isn't the case, I have deleted it and I am putting the file straight after doing the authentication. Below is the code that retrieves the keys and stores the file on dropbox. Apt-Get Update: failure to fetch; can't connect to any sources

I realize there are dozens of "apt-get update: failure to fetch" questions (I read through all I could find), but my present circumstance is unique to 12.04 and it affects all sources; not just launchpad. Additionally, I've tried several different servers in Europe and the U.S. as well as the "main server" (wherever that is) and they all yield the same result: I can't connect to any software sources. Additionally, I'm fairly certain the problem stems from the upgrade from 11.10-12.04 I performed this morning, as updates worked immediately before. Updates from the Update Manager worked fine and I could download some things (mutter) from the Software Center without incident, which makes me think I can connect to some subset of the Ubuntu servers (however, several other Ubuntu servers--like extras--and some canonical servers are listed as 'unable to connect').
