    The scenario is i have a file and contains a string "the date and time is 2012-12-07 17:11:50" I had searched and found a command grep 'the date and time is' 2012-12-07.txt | cut -d\ -f5 it just displays the 5th word and i need the combination of 5th and 6th, so i tried grep 'the date and time is' 2012-12-07.txt | cut -d\ -f5 -f6 But its error. Now, how to grep the 5th and 6th word with one command I just need the output like 2012-12-07 17:11:50

    I have a project with a lot of tests failing, so it would be great for me to receive by email the number of failed tests compare from the latest build. What i need is just the info that appears in the project's page by the test results link: Latest Test Result (10 failures / -2) Is this possible? I've already tried the email-ext plugin, but it is not telling me that info (I can have the list of failing tests with output etc., but I really just need that info above). Any ideas?

    I have a function foo(i) that takes an integer and takes a significant amount of time to execute. Will there be a significant performance difference between any of the following ways of initializing 'a': a = [foo(i) for i in xrange(100)] , a = map(foo, range(100)) , and vfoo = numpy.vectorize(foo) vfoo(range(100)) ? (I don't care whether the output is a list or a numpy array). Is there some other better way of doing this? Thanks.

    Currently, I have osmething like this in all of my classes: # Import logging to log information import logging # Set up the logger LOG_FILENAME = 'log.txt' logging.basicConfig(filename=LOG_FILENAME,level=logging.DEBUG) This works well, and I get the output I want, but I would really like to have all this sort of information in one place, and be able to just do something like import myLogger and then start logging, and then hopefully be able to just go into that file and turn off logging when I need an extra performance boost.     Hi there, I'm loosing my hair trying to figure out why net.sf.json.JSONObject add extra backslash where it shouldn't on my java code : JSONObject obj = new JSONObject (); obj.element ("column_name", "<a href=\"#\" title=\"test\">Test !</a>"); will output : <a href=\"#\" title=\"test\">Test !<\/a> with an extra "\" near <\/a.     Hi all, I have an asp.net page that runs certain algorithm and returns it's output. I was wondering what will happen and how to handle a case where the algorithm due to a bug goes into infinite loop. It will hog the cpu and other sessions will be served very slowly. I would love to have a way to tell IIS, if processing Algo.aspx takes more than 5 seconds, kill it or something like that. Thanks in advance

I've found this technique both efficient (no allocations) and useful (streams!). Now that std::strstream is deprecated, how can I get the same speed+flexibility that I can get with this code?

It seems like "socket.puts data" in a client works, but "output = socket.gets" - not. I think problem is in a Python part. For big files tests run "Connection reset by peer". Is it buffer size variable by default somewhere in a Python?
