  I have been struggling with the following error the last couple of days can you please help! I generated my server and client code using the wsdl2java tool from a wsdl 2.0 file. When invoking the webservice I am getting the following error: org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: The endpoint reference (EPR) for the Operation not found is /axis2/services/MyService/authentication/?username=Denise345&password=xxxxx and the WSA Action = null My service is displayed on the axis2 webpage with all available methods.   I've tried to parse the following json response with both the JQuery getJSON and ajax: [{"iId":"1","heading":"Management Services","body":"<h1>Program Overview</h1><h1>January 29, 2009</h1>"}] I've also tried it escaping the "/" characters like this: [{"iId":"1","heading":"Management Services","body":"<h1>Program Overview <\/h1><h1>January 29, 2009<\/h1>"}] When I use the getJSON it dose not execute the callback. However, I have hope that I may have missed something that would allow me to get this data via JSON. Does anyone have any ideas?

• How to read from path in wpf comboboxitem and write into path of binding

  Hi, I tried to make up an example to show my problem. My combobox has a list of objects as itemssource. In my example it's a list of Persons. In the combobox i want to show the first name and the last name of the person. But i want to save the last name of the person in the "owner" property of the house-object. My guess was that i bind the SelectedValue to my property and the SelectedValuePath to the name of the property in the comboboxitem. I already googled and tried a view other versions but nothing worked. If i use SelectedItem instead of SelectedValue with the same binding at least the value of the "tostring" function get's written in the property. Sadly that solution doesn't fit in the Rest of my Program because i don't want to override "ToString".   I am working on implementing a non web.config approach of WCF services using the factory attribute on the .svc file per Rick Strahl's blog post: Factory="System.ServiceModel.Activation.WebScriptServiceHostFactory" Locally, I am running IIS7 in Visual Studio 2008 and have no problem, but when I deploy to my web server (currently running IIS6), I am getting an authentication error in the event log: Exception: System.ServiceModel.ServiceActivationException: The service '/Services/ResourcesService.svc' cannot be activated due to an exception during compilation. The exception message is: IIS specified authentication schemes 'IntegratedWindowsAuthentication, Anonymous', but the binding only supports specification of exactly one authentication scheme. Valid authentication schemes are Digest, Negotiate, NTLM, Basic, or Anonymous.   I am a bit perplexed on how to catch a specific error type of Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException, I'll explain why, and I've included a code sample below for you guys to see. As you know there are 2 ways to interact with MOSS. The object model (only runs on MOSS Server) Web Services (can be run on a remote machine querying the MOSS server) So as per code sample I'm using web services to query MOSS, because of this I don't have sharepoint installed on the remote server running these web services and without MOSS installed its impossible to reference the SharePoint DLL to get the specific error type : Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException. If I can't reference the DLL then how the heck am I supposed to catch this specific error type? • JQuery ajax call to httpget webmethod (c#) not working

  I am trying to get an ajax get to a webmethod in code behind. The problem is I keep getting the error "parserror" from the JQuery onfail method. If I change the GET to a POST everything works fine. Please see my code below. • How to parse nagios status.dat file?

  I'd like to parse status.dat file for nagios3 and output as xml with a python script. The xml part is the easy one but how do I go about parsing the file? Use multi line regex? It's possible the file will be large as many hosts and services are monitored, will loading the whole file in memory be wise? I only need to extract services that have critical state and host they belong to. Any help and pointing in the right direction will be highly appreciated. • TimoutException occurs over a network but not locally

  I have a program with three WCF services and when I run them locally (i.e: Server and Clients are all on localhost) everything works. However when I test them across a network I get a TimoutException on two services but not the other. I've disabled the firewalls on all the machines involved in the test. I can both ping the server and access the wsdl "You have created a service" webpage from the client The service that works uses a BasicHttpBinding with streaming and the two which don't work use WSDualHttpBinding. The Services that use WSDualHttpBinding both have CallbackContracts. I apologise for the vagueness of this question but I'm not really sure what code to include or where to even start looking for the solution to this.   My organisation is getting into the SOA world (a bit late, but that's what it's like here!) and we're looking into the ESB Toolkit 2.0 (we already have BizTalk Server 2009). We're keen on implementing UDDI (specifically, the UDDI Services v3.0 that ships with BTS 2009), but we're low on actual UDDI experience. We want to manage the ever-burgeoning number of web services we have across all our environments. What are the best practices for implementing UDDI? For example:- Would you implement a single highly-available resilient UDDI server that hosts all services and bindings, including test environment versions? Or would you implement separate UDDI repositories for test and production environments? I'm aware of the Oasis Technical Note v2.0 on WSDL and UDDI, but does anyone actually implement that? I.e. the abstract parts of the WSDL as tModels, the implementation parts of the WSDL as bindings? Would you go to the effort of capturing non-web service endpoints in UDDI, or just use it for WSDL? What are the "gotchas"?

• How to use Guice in Swing application

  I have a Swing application that I would like to convert from spaghetti to using dependency injection with Guice. Using Guice to provide services like configuration and task queues is going great but I'm now starting on the GUI of the app and am unsure of how to proceed. The application is basically a JFrame with a bunch of tabs in a JTabbedPane. Each of the tabs is a separate JPanel subclass that lays out the various components and needs services to perform actions when certain buttons are pressed. In the current application, this looks somewhat like this: @Inject public MainFrame(SomeService service, Executor ex, Configuration config) { tabsPane = new JTabbedPane(); // Create the panels for each tab and add them to the tabbedpane somePanel = new SomeTabPanel(service, ex, config); tabsPane.addTab("Panel 1", somePanel); someOtherPanel = new SomeOtherTabPanel(service, ex, config); tabsPane.addTab("Panel 2", someOtherPanel); ... do more stuff } Obviously, this doesn't exactly follow DI best practices. I don't want to have to @Inject the tabs because that would get me a constructor with dozens of parameters. I do want to use Guice to inject the required dependencies into whatever tab objects I need without me having to pass all of those dependencies to the tab constructors. All of the dependencies for the tab objects are services that my Module knows about, so basically all I think I want to do is to ask Guice for the required objects and have them constructed for me.

So far I looked at the Knopflerfish documentation (Link 1, Link 2) to get an idea of how much of the Core and Compendium specs are actually implemented. The core specification seems to be fully implemented, although there are some inconsistent statements about the Security Layer and the Declarative Services. What makes me wonder is how much of all the Compendium specs are implemented: Remote Services Log Service Http Service Device Access Configuration Admin Service Metatype Service Preferences Service User Admin Service Wire Admin Service IO Connector Service Initial Provisioning UPnP Device Service Declarative Services Event Admin Service Deployment Admin Auto Configuration Application Admin DMT Admin Service Monitor Admin Service Foreign Application Access Blueprint Container Tracker XML Parser Service Position Measurement and State Execution Environment To find out more I downloaded (Download page) the source code of Knopflerfish and had a look at it. It looks like some parts of the spec are implemented through the "original" framework provided by the OSGi Alliance (org.osgi.*). One example is the UPnP package: Does this mean that missing parts which are not directly implemented by Knopflerfish are added through the "original" OSGi framework? And does this also apply to other frameworks like Felix or Equinox?

• Best practice for structuring a new large ASP.NET MVC2 plus EF4 VS2010 solution?

  Hi, we are building a new web application using Microsoft ASP.NET MVC2 and Entity Framework 4. Although I am sure there is not one right answer to my question, we are struggling to agree a VS2010 solution structure. The application will use SQL Server 2008 with a possible future Azure cloud version. We are using EF4 with T4 POCOs (model-first) and accessing a number of third-party web-services. We will also be connecting to a number of external messaging systems. UI is based on standard ASP.NET (MVC) with jQuery. In future we may deliver a Silverlight/WPF version - as well as mobile. So put simply, we start with a VS2010 blank solution - then what? I have suggested 4 folders Data (the EF edmx file etc), Domain (entities, repositories), Services (web-services access), Presentation (web ui etc). However under Presentation, creating the ASP.NET MVC2 project obviously creates it's own Models folder etc and it just doesn't seem to fit too well in this proposed structure. I'm also missing a business layer (or does this sit in the domain?). Again I am sure there is no one right way to do it, but I'd really appreciate your views on this. Thanks

• BitBlt ignores CAPTUREBLT and seems to always capture a cached copy of the target...

  I am trying to capture screenshots using the BitBlt function. However, every single time I capture a screenshot, the non-client area NEVER changes no matter what I do. It's as if it's getting some cached copy of it. The client area is captured correctly. If I close and then re-open the window, and take a screenshot, the non-client area will be captured as it is. Any subsequent captures after moving/resizing the window have no effect on the captured screenshot. Again, the client area will be correct. Furthermore, the CAPTUREBLT flag seems to do absolutely nothing at all. I notice no change with or without it. Qt's documentation states that: The grabWindow() function grabs pixels from the screen, not from the window, i.e. if there is another window partially or entirely over the one you grab, you get pixels from the overlying window, too. However, I experience the exact opposite... regardless of the CAPTUREBLT flag. I've tried everything I can think of... nothing works. Any ideas?

• WCF RIA Silverlight deployment issues

  It seems the world is awash with people having problems deploying RIA WCF services, and now I'm one too. I've already tried a bunch of things, but to no avail. I need WCF RIA to support a Silverlight 3 application I've built. The short story is, using the new WCF RIA services (Nov 09?) I open VS 2008, create new project (silverlight application), enabling ".NET RIA services". Add new item to web project - Linq2SQL dbml file (from SQL 2005 DB prepared earlier) and compile. I add a new item to the web project - domain service (link the tables I need) and compiled. Using the domain context I "Load" data with a standard RIA get query in the MainPage and add a TextBlock to display returned data. Build & run (cassini) - success. Using VS to publish to IIS on local PC - success. Using VS to publish to test server (IIS6) - browse to location and the Silverlight app loads but Fiddler tells me I've got a 404 on all the the WCF .svc requests. Use Fiddler to "launch IE" on the service request and it's true - 404. I have already run aspnet_regiis, ServiceModelReg and added mime types for .xap, .xaml, .xbap and .svc. I have included the System.Web.Ria and System.Web.DomainServices DLL with copy local true. I need help with either a) a solution b) an approach to find a solution

I followed the instructions (or so I thought) and the code signing claims to be done right, however when I try to verify the tool shows an error. I have no idea what it means and no idea how to fix this. Any comments would be appreciated. • How can I anchor a textbox in wpf ?

  I have a window with tabs. On one of the tabs, I have a layout like below. (In fact it is more complicated, I have 4 text boxes in a row, and I have more rows.) How can I make the 3rd textbox have the width of the label + the width of the text box above, that is, to have them properly aligned ? The problem is that WPF widens the 3rd textbox, when I type text into it. Using hardcoded numbers for the sizes defeats the whole purpose of WPF. I could do that way 10 times faster in Windows Forms than in WPF. • clientaccesspolicy.xml not being requested via HTTPS

  I have a silverlight app that has been using http to communicate w/self-hosted WCF services during development. I am now securing the services via https. I am getting an error I had back at the beginning of the project: "An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI 'https://localhost:8303/service'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details." My clientaccesspolicy.xml file is setup to allow access from http://* and https://*. The only difference is using http vs https. The issue is I can usually see (via Fiddler) the clientaccesspolicy.xml file being requested, but now I cannot. I'm assuming it is failing because of this. Any ideas?

• AMF data is incomplete with Flex Service

  Hello everybody. I am bussy with a Flex Project with a data services. Flash builder installed Zend Framework with Zend_Amf. When i run the project i get the error NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Failed. With chalers i say that Zend_Amf give the error: AMF data is incomplete (0 bytes of 0 bytes). Please check the recording limits in the Recording Settings. I don't know what the problem means. I have searched on google, but i haven't found a good result. • DDD and Client/Server apps

  I was wondering if any of you had successfully implemented DDD in a Client/Server app and would like to share some experiences. We are currently working on a smart client in Flex and a backend in Java. On the server we have a service layer exposed to the client that offers CRUD operations amongst some other service methods. I understand that in DDD these services should be repositories and services should be used to handle use cases that do not fit inside a repository. Right now, we mimic these services on the client behind an interface and inject implementations (Webservices, RMI, etc) via an IoC container. So some questions arise: should the server expose repositories to the client or do we need to have some sort of a facade (that is able to handle security for instance) should the client implement repositories (and DDD in general?) knowing that in the client, most of the logic is view related and real business logic lives on the server. All communication with the server happens asynchronously and we have a single threaded programming model on the client. how about mapping client to server objects and vice versa? We tried DTO's but reverted back to exposing the state of our objects and mapping directly to them. I know this is considered bad practice, but it saves us an incredible amount of time) In general I think a new generation of applications is coming with the growth of Flex, Silverlight, JavaFX and I'm curious how DDD fits into this.
