  • Facebook/FBML: How to tell if a user is a fan of the fan page

    Hi, I'm working on a FBML fan page for a client. I need to perform a check to see if the current user is a fan of the page. I tried using the JavaScript API but I've found this is not compatible with FBML. I have looked through the FBML page on the developer wiki and found checks for practically everything else but no is user fan check. Any pointers in the right direction would be most appreciated. In theory, when you shrink the browser (forcing the table to shrink as well), a vertical scrollbar should appear INSIDE the second cell when the table becomes too small to fit all of the content. But in reality, the table just grows vertically, beyond the bounds set by the CSS height attribute(s). Hopefully I've explained this scenario adequately... Does anyone know how I can get this to work?

  • Using Selenium, how can I test a web UI that returns XML instead of HTML?

    I'm using Selenium to unit test my Perl cgi script and all works fine except in one case where my cgi script returns XML content to the web browser instead of returning HTML content. I'm new to Selenium and only pasted in their sample script to get started, but I can't seem to find a Selenium command in any of the documentation that will recognize that my XML response has been returned. The Selenium commands seem to assume that an HTML page is always being returned.

  • Is it ethical to let users see the request headers from visitors to a url shortening service?

    I'm currently in the progress of making a url shortening service that will let the creator see the http request headers that the browser has made when visitors visit the url. The visitors won't be made aware that they are being tracked, but obviously nothing is personally identifiable. Is there anything I should be made aware of ethically or legally that makes this a bad idea?

    Hello, I've set up two asp.net applications on a machine, their web.config files contain the same applicationName value in AspNetSqlMembershipProvider item so they share users and roles. The problem sequence is: user logs into application A, opens new tab in a browser logs into application B, his login in application A is signed out and vice versa. Should I use different approach to sharing login information between two applications? Thanks.

  • How to track $HOME with git

    Hello, I would like to track my $HOME dir with git. I've got many other git repos in other subdirs (eg $HOME/projects/repo_1 and so on), which shouldn't be tracked, since they already are. I have found git-home-history but it appears from the archive that the project is no longer actively developed. What approach do you recommended ? Is ghh mature enough? I am on a Mac but I am interested in cross platform solutions, too.     Hello, I'm using Telerik controls, specifically the numerical textbox where you can set a up-down arrow to increment/decrement values in a textbox. I am required to set the tab order to move to the next field but since there's a button on the up-down arrow, the browser will go through those buttons first then move to the next textbox field. How do you set the jquery to detect the next visible textbox/dropdown/etc input field and move to that on pressing the tab button instead of running through the buttons near it?

  • IIS displaying page differently when localhost is used in URL vs. hostname

    I'm having (yet another) strange problem with IIS. When viewing an ASPX page I've designed on my local machine by browsing to http://localhost/page.aspx the page looks as expected (and looks the same in IE, Firefox and Chrome. If I change localhost to my_hostname the page is rendered with a disabled vertical scroll bar. The behavior was first noticed when I published my site to our live server and saw the same discrepancy. After beating my head against the wall I tried what I described above and was able to duplicate my "problem". So with that, I turn to you guys. This wouldn't really be an issue (save for the cross-browser inconsistency) except that this screws up an "absolute"ly positioned <div> moving it partway off the screen instead of being centered like it should be (and is when viewed any other way except in IE when the address is anything but localhost).

  • Django resizing an image pre save using PIL

    Ugh, I hate having to ask a question on such a common feature, but. . . I'm using an ImageField in a form to upload a photo to S3. I want to resize the image before it is uploaded to S3. I'm trying to use PIL to test the dimensions and resize if necessary. The Image.open() part is throwing me though. It wants a filepath, and the ImageField from the form is only returning the actual file and filename. How can I resize the image before it's saved to S3? Before we get to this point, I'm not using sorl because I believe sorl is compatible with models using ImageFields. But the model associated with the saved S3 images holds just the url of the image on S3 as opposed to using ImageFields.

    Hey All. I need to do a mass 301 Redirect for all pages ending with .html for my site. I am looking to move all the old .html files to a sub-folder ir. RedirectMatch 301 (.*)\.html$ http://www.domain.com/folder/$1.html When I add this and refresh the browser I get a ton of folder/folder/folder now after the url ie domain.com/folder//folder/folder/folder.....   • MIT vs. BSD vs. Dual License

    My understanding is that: MIT-licensed projects can be used/redistributed in BSD-licensed projects. BSD-licensed projects can be used/redistributed in MIT-licensed projects. The MIT and the BSD 2-clause licenses are essentially identical. BSD 3-clause = BSD 2-clause + the "no endorsement" clause Issuing a dual license allows users to choose from those licenses—not be bound to both. If all of the above is correct, then what is the point of using a dual MIT/BSD license? Even if the BSD refers to the 3-clause version, then can't a user legally choose to only abide by the MIT license? It seems that if you really want the "no endorsement" clause to apply then you have to license it as just BSD (not dual). If you don't care about the "no endorsement" clause, then MIT alone is sufficient and MIT/BSD is redundant. Similarly, since the MIT and BSD licenses are both "GPL-compatible" and can be redistributed in GPL-licensed projects, then dual licensing MIT/GPL also seems redundant.

The view on the screen is refreshed, and shows the contents of the new folder correctly. However, the Combo Box up the top of the dialog still references the original IShellFolder object where the Context menu was initiated.   • Check firebird databases present

    Our software installer install firebird if it is not present on the system and, as we are pursuing Win certificate the uninstaller should remove it but, we want to make sure that even if it was the installer that put it there, if any new software is using it now with a new database, we would not remove it (Firebird). The question is: Is it possible to query the server and ask what are the databases running on it? This is it so that we can decide, automatically if we can remove the database or not. A few extra info: Our installer is Innosetup and it does a good job already - we just trying to make it smarter because of the "Developed by" or "Compatible with" windows logo.

    I have a View that outputs a page. Under Basic Settings I set a "title". When I load the page, I see that title as the page title (at top of the browser) - all good.     Hi, Is it possible to create a new thread in asp.net to do some processing, and then upon completion, set a flag so that when the user requests the next page, I can insert some extra text or code to perform some notification?
