• How to completely wipe a previous ClickOnce installation?

  I have a curious problem: My app is distributed through ClickOnce. I recently installed three new clients on a new location. They worked. After an update however, all old clients worked fine, but the three new clients did not. As my code is swallowing an exception somewhere I have been unable thusfar to pinpoint where the error lies. When I XCopy the latest version of the app to the desktop of the three new client computers the program works fine. So, I thought uninstalling and reinstalling the program from the download location should fix the problem, but it does not! I can think of two explanations: The new location has some firewall/virusscanner in place that doesn't like the latest version of my app when it is run from a standard ClickOnce directory, but it allows execution from the desktop. Some old settings (the app uses user scoped and app scoped settings) remain in effect after the uninstall. When I find and check the user.config file for the app however, I find no incorrect setttings there. Thusfar, I have been unable to reproduce the error on any other machine. How can I solve this!?

  I used the Magento Connect downloader to install the blank theme extension, but I did not switch to it as I was unable to access any-page anymore. Instead, it started showing php errors for front-end and Magento generated security errors for admin. Frontend Error: Fatal error: Call to a member function toHtml() on a non-object in D:\xampp\htdocs\newpinch\app\code\core\Mage\Core\Model\Layout.php on line 529 Admin error on Log-in: There has been an error processing your request Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons. Error log record number: 1608724822 Link to the theme extension I installed. I didn't even change the theme from the default, can anyone please tell me what am I doing wrong. I just installed the theme and then clicked on "Return to admin" in Magento Connect but it was unable to go instead started refreshed the Magento Connect page, only this time without any CSS styling. The only page that still appears correctly is the admin log-in page. Please help me, I have already tried the forums at magentocommerce.com and their community sucks. 0 views & 0 replies. please help...

• Difficulty setting ArrayList to java.sql.Blob to save in DB using hibernate

  I'm trying to save a java ArrayList in a database (H2) by setting it as a blob, for retrieval later. If this is a bad approach, please say - I haven't been able to find much information on this area. I have a column of type Blob in the database, and Hibernate maps to this with java.sql.Blob. The code I'm struggling with is: Drawings drawing = new Drawings(); try { ByteArrayOutputStream bos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); ObjectOutputStream oos = null; oos = new ObjectOutputStream(bos); oos.writeObject(plan.drawingPane21.pointList); byte[] buff = bos.toByteArray(); Blob drawingBlob = null; drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); drawing.setDrawingObject(drawingBlob); } catch (Exception e){ System.err.println(e); } The object I'm trying to save into a blob (plan.drawingPane21.pointList) is of type ArrayList<DrawingDot>, DrawingDot being a custom class implementing Serializable. My code is failing on the line drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); with a NullPointerException. Help appreciated.

  I want to run Protovis javascript from Java and get the evaluated SVG code. (Incidentally, I know of examples that use Rhino to do this from the Google discussion group.)

• Mapping issue with multi-field primary keys using hibernate/JPA annotations

  Hi all, I'm stuck with a database which is using multi-field primary keys. I have a situation where I have a master and details table, where the details table's primary key contains fields which are also the foreign key's the the master table. Like this: Master primary key fields: master_pk_1 Details primary key fields: master_pk_1 details_pk_2 details_pk_3 In the Master class we define the hibernate/JPA annotations like this: @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE, generator = "idGenerator") @Column(name = "master_pk_1") private long masterPk1; @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.ALL) @JoinColumn(name = "master_pk_1", referencedColumnName = "master_pk_1") private List<Details> details = new ArrayList<Details>(); And in the details class I have defined the id and back reference like this: @EmbeddedId @AttributeOverrides( { @AttributeOverride( name = "masterPk1", column = @Column(name = "master_pk_1")), @AttributeOverride(name = "detailsPk2", column = @Column(name = "details_pk_2")), @AttributeOverride(name = "detailsPk2", column = @Column(name = "details_pk_2")) }) private DetailsPrimaryKey detailsPrimaryKey = new DetailsPrimaryKey(); @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name = "master_pk_1", referencedColumnName = "master_pk_1", insertable=false) private Master master; The goal of all of this was that I could create a new master, add some details to it, and when saved, JPA/Hibernate would generate the new id for master in the masterPk1 field, and automatically pass it down to the details records, storing it in the matching masterPk1 field in the DetailsPrimaryKey class. At least that's what the documentation I've been looking at implies. What actually happens is that hibernate appears to corectly create and update the records in the database, but not pass the key to the details classes in memory. Instead I have to manually set it myself. I also found that without the insertable=true added to the back reference to master, that hibernate would create sql that had the master_pk_1 field listed twice in the insert statement, resulting in the database throwing an exception. My question is simply is this arrangement of annotations correct? or is there a better way of doing it?

• Decrypting a string in C# which was encrypted with openssl in php 5.3.2

  maybe someone can clear me up. I have been surfing on this a while now. I used openssl from console to create a root certificate for me (privatekey.pem, publickey.pem, mycert.pem, mycertprivatekey.pfx). See the end of this text on how. The problem is still to get a string encrypted on the PHP side to be decrypted on the C# side with RSACryptoServiceProvider. Any ideas? PHP side I used the publickey.pem to read it into php: $server_public_key = openssl_pkey_get_public(file_get_contents("C:\publickey.pem")); // rsa encrypt openssl_public_encrypt("123", $encrypted, $server_public_key); and the privatekey.pem to check if it works: openssl_private_decrypt($encrypted, $decrypted, openssl_get_privatekey(file_get_contents("C:\privatekey.pem"))); Coming to the conclusion, that encryption/decryption works fine on the php side with these openssl root certificate files.   Hi, I'm using Hibernate with annotations (in spring), and I have an object which has an ordered, many-to-one relationship which a child object which has a composite primary key, one component of which is a foreign key back to the id of the parent object. The structure looks something like this: +=============+ +================+ | ParentObj | | ObjectChild | +-------------+ 1 0..* +----------------+ | id (pk) |-----------------| parentId | | ... | | name | +=============+ | pos | | ... | +================+ I've tried a variety of combinations of annotations, none of which seem to work. This is the closest I've been able to come up with: @Entity public class ParentObject { @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String id; @OneToMany(mappedBy="object", fetch=FetchType.EAGER) @IndexColumn(name = "pos", base=0) private List<ObjectChild> attrs; ... } @Entity public class ChildObject { @Embeddable public static class Pk implements Serializable { @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String objectId; @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String name; @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private int pos; ... } @EmbeddedId private Pk pk; @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="parentId") private ParentObject parent; ... } I arrived at this after a long bout of experimentation in which most of my other attempts yielded entities which hibernate couldn't even load for various reasons. The error I get when I try to read one of these objects (they seem to save OK), I get an error of this form: org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not initialize a collection: ... And the root cause is this: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Unknown column 'attrs0_.id' in 'field list' I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but the documentation is not clear on this matter, and I haven't been able to find any examples of this anywhere else. • How can I work around "Xcode could not locate source file"

  Hello, I'm working with the ID3 framework in Xcode (which has since disappeared off the face of the web - including google cache!). I'm testing out an import mp3 feature which allows them to edit the tags as they import them. One of the test cases is a corrupt or invalid mp3 with no proper id3 header. The problem I'm having is that when updating the tags of the invalid mp3 (updateFile:), the ID3 framework attempts to use id3V1Tag.m (I assume it falls back to this if it can't find the v2 tag) and this is where I get the Xcode error (whilst running the program, not building): Xcode could not locate source file: id3V1Tag.m (line: 299) Even in a release build this crashes the program, so it's not something I can really ignore. I've tried putting a try/catch block around it but it's not treated as an exception so doesn't get caught. The function to load the tag data for the file returns a BOOL but it appears this only returns false if the given file doesn't exist, so this doesn't help either. • The RSA key container could not be opened

  Hi, I've been developing an ASP.NET site on an older machine running XP home. I recently got a new Win 7 PC and moved all my project files across. When I try and run the project, I get this error message: "Failed to decrypt using provider 'MyRsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error message from the provider: The RSA key container could not be opened." I realised that I encrypted parts of my web.config file using a RSA encryption. This is where the problem now lies. I'm not sure how to get that key working again so that I can use it on my new machine. I exported the key from the older machine and imported it using: aspnet_regiis -pi "RSAProviderName" "C:\RSA_configkey.xml" This was imported successfully. I then ran the project, but the same error message came up. I figured it might be a permission thing, so I ran: aspnet_regiis -pa "RSAProviderName" "\Desktop" -full This was also successful, but I still get the error. From reading around, I've seen people use "ASPNET" instead of "\Desktop" (Desktop is my machine name). However, when I try and use "ASPNET", I get: No mapping between account name and security IDs was done. <Exception from HRESULT = 0x80070534 I can't work on the project until this is fixed, so any help is much appreciated. Given that I wish to create more correct heuristics when it comes to programming, I've been prompted to ask this question to the .NET gurus out there: Is interface casting faster than class casting? • Castle ActiveRecord / NHibernate Linq Querys with ValueTypes

  Given the following code for our Active Record Entites and ValueTypes Linq is not working for us. [ActiveRecord("Person")] public class PersonEntity : ActiveRecordLinqBase<PersonEntity> { string _name; [Property("Name", Length = 20, ColumnType = "string", Access = PropertyAccess.FieldCamelcaseUnderscore)] public Name Name { get { return NameValue.Create(_name);} set { _name = value.DataBaseValue; } } ... } public abstract class Name : IValueType { string DataBaseValue {get;set;} ... } public class Namevalue : Name { string _name; private NameValue(string name) { _name = name; } public static NameValue Create(string name) { return new NameValue(name); } ... } We tried to use linq in the following way so far with no success: var result = from PersonEntity p in PersonEntity.Queryable where p.Name == "Thomas" select p; return result.First(); // throws exception Cannot convert string into Name We tried and implemented a TypeConverter for Name, but the converter never got called. Is there a way to have linq working with this ValueTypes? Update: Using NHibernate.UserTypes.IUserType it sortof works. I Implemented the Interface as described here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1565056/how-to-implement-correctly-iusertype I still had to add a ConversionOperator from string to Name and had to call it Explicitly in the linq Statement, even though it was defined as implicit. var result = from PersonEntity p in PersonEntity.Queryable where p.Name == (Name)"Thomas" select p; return result.First(); //Now works

• Updating Database from DataSet

  I am having trouble updating my Database from my code using a DataSet. I'm using SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008. Here is what I've done so far. I have created a table in SQL Server called MyTable which has two columns: id nchar(10), and name nchar(50). I have then created a datasource in my VB.net project that consists of this table using the dataset wizard and called this dataset MyDataSet. I run the following code on a button click: Try Dim myDataSet As New MyDataSet Dim newRow As MyDataSet.MyTableRow = myDataSet.MyTable.NewMyTableRow newRow.id = "1" newRow.name = "Alpha" myDataSet.MyTable.AddMyTableRow(newRow) myDataSet.AcceptChanges() Catch ex As Exception MsgBox(ex.Message) End Try when I run this and check the rows in SQL Server it returns 0 rows What have I missed? How can I add these rows / save changes in a dataset to the database? I have seen other examples that use a TableAdapter but I don't think I want to do this, I think I should be able to achieve this just using a DataSet. Am I mistaken? Help is greatly appreciated!

• Entity Framework Update Error in ASP.NET Mvc with related entity

  I have run into a problem which have searched and tried everything i can to find a solution but to no avail. I am using the same repository and context throughout the process I have a booking entity and a userExtension Entity Below is my image i then get my form collection back from my page and create a new booking public ActionResult Create(FormCollection collection) { Booking toBooking = new Booking(); i then do some validation and property assignment and find an associated BidInstance toBooking.BidInstance = bid; i have checked and the bid is not null. finally i get the user extension file from the Current IPRINCIPAL USER as below UserExtension loggedInUser = m_BookingRepository.GetBookingCurrentUser(User); toBooking.UserExtension = loggedInUser; The Code to do the getUserExtension is : public UserExtension GetBookingCurrentUser(IPrincipal currentUser) { var user = (from u in Context.aspnet_Users .Include("UserExtension") where u.UserName == currentUser.Identity.Name select u).FirstOrDefault(); if (user != null) { var userextension = (from u in Context.UserExtension.Include("aspnet_Users") where u.aspnet_Users.UserId == user.UserId select u).FirstOrDefault(); return userextension; } else{ return null; } } It returns the userextension fine and assigns it fine. i originally used the aspnet_users but encountered this problem so tried to change it to the extension entity. as soon as i call the : Context.AddToBooking(booking); Context.SaveChanges(); i get the following exception and im completely baffled by how to fix it Entities in 'FutureFlyersEntityModel.Booking' participate in the 'FK_Booking_UserExtension' relationship. 0 related 'UserExtension' were found. 1 'UserExtension' is expected. then the final error that comes to the front end is: Metadata information for the relationship 'FutureFlyersModel.FK_Booking_BidInstance' could not be retrieved. Make sure that the EdmRelationshipAttribute for the relationship has been defined in the assembly. Parameter name: relationshipName.. But both the related entities are set in the booking entity passed thruogh PLEASE HELP Im at wits end with this

• SSL HandShakeException: No_Certificate. Using IBM's J9 JVM and Apache Tomcat

  I am developing a mobile application that is to run on a Windows Mobile PDA. The application is written in Java and to run it we are using the J9 JVM from IBM. The application communicates with an Apache Tomcat server over HTTP and we are trying to set it up now to use SSL. I have generated public/private keys for both the client and the server, exported their self signed certificates and imported them into the respective keystores. Initially I tried to just get it working using only server side authentication and that was successful. But I am now trying to get mutual authentication by setting clientAuth="true" in the server.xml file in the apache conf directory. I have enabled the SSL logging on the server and when the client connects the server reports an SSLProtocolException: handshake alert: no_certificate.   I'm doing some maintenance on an older web application written in Monorail v1.0.3. I want to unit test an action that uses RenderText(). How do I extract the content in my test? Reading from controller.Response.OutputStream doesn't work, since the response stream is either not setup properly in PrepareController(), or is closed in RenderText(). • feedparser fails during script run, but can't reproduce in interactive python console

  It's failing with this when I run eclipse or when I run my script in iPython: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe2 in position 32: ordinal not in range(128) I don't know why, but when I simply execute the feedparse.parse(url) statement using the same url, there is no error thrown. This is stumping me big time. • How to transfer objects through the header in WCF

  I'm trying to transfer some user information in the header of the message through message inspectors. I have created a behavior which adds the inspector to the service (both client and server). But when I try to communicate with the service I get the following error: XmlException: Name cannot begin with the '<' character, hexadecimal value 0x3C. I have also get exception telling me that DataContracts where unexpected. Type 'System.DelegateSerializationHolder+DelegateEntry' with data contract name 'DelegateSerializationHolder.DelegateEntry:http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/System' is not expected. Consider using a DataContractResolver or add any types not known statically to the list of known types - for example, by using the KnownTypeAttribute attribute or by adding them to the list of known types passed to DataContractSerializer. The thing is that my object contains other objects which are marked as DataContract and I'm not interested adding the KnownType attribute for those types. Another problem might be that my object to serialize is very restricted in form of internal class and internal properties etc. Can anyone guide me in the right direction. What I'm I doing wrong?
