• Clean way to display/hide a bunch of buttons based on a ComboBox selection

  I'm writing a standalone application in VB.NET using Visual Studio 2005. I want to display/hide a bunch of Buttons based on the selected value of a ComboBox. Each selection would have a different set of Buttons to display, and I'd like to have them arranged in a nice grid. Driving a TabControl with the ComboBox value would be the kind of behavior I want, but I don't want it to look like a TabControl to the user because it might be confusing. Is there a way to do this? Basically, I'd like Selection1 of the ComboBox to show Buttons 1-4, Selection2 to show Buttons 5-11, Selection3 to show (maybe) Buttons 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8, etc., have them arranged nicely, and have the GUI show only the ComboBox and the buttons.   Hi all. I've some data that i'd like to publish just on one website, ie. it should not be reused on other websites. The data is a set of numbers that change every day, our journalists work to get hard gather it. Is there any way to hide, crypt, etc. the data in a way that it cannot be reused by others? But to show it in a graph in the same time? I found the ASCII to HEX tool that could be used for (http://utenti.multimania.it/ascii2hex/). I wonder if you can suggest other ways. (Even if I have to completely change the strategy.) Many thanks!

• Hide div when clicking outside

  I've searched and search not only google but also here and still have to find a solution that will work. I have a div that is hidden by default, then toggled by clicking on a link. I also want it to hide when you click outside of the div. Simple, I thought, but nothing I've tried had worked yet. I would like both ID's to be unique (between the tables as well) - I mean, I would like to save auto incremenet, and if I UNION both table I still have uniqness. How can I do that? Is there a possibility to save auto increment when mysql is off?

  As usually seemingly simple things take days to resolve, maybe someone could point me to a solution but after 2 days I give up on the following problem; In html, in a form I have a button that is supposed to trigger loading of data through ajax call: <button type="" class="btn" onclick="getData(); return false;">Show Data</button> in javascript: $(document).ajaxStart(function() { $("#qloader").show(); }).ajaxStop(function() { $("#qloader").hide('slow'); });? and in html div with id qloader is defined with 100% width and height and spinner centered as the background, z-index above other: <div id="qloader" class="myLoader" >&nbsp;</div> Now, when page loads, ajax call is executed to get initial data, qloader div is brought up and it shows the spinner - animated, after ajax call finishes, qloader is hidden by ajaxStop. Next, when I click on a button (show data) to initiate another ajax call, ajaxStart is triggered, but it does not show qloader, it waits until ajaxStop is triggered and then in a blink of eye it shows qloader and hides it. I suspected that ajaxStart is not executed, so I put alert before $("#qloader").show(), then alert would be displayed and after that qloader WOULD be displayed BUT spinner animation would be suspended - no spinning, and after ajaxStop it would get hidden. Without alert in ajaxStart trigger, in subsequent ajax calls div is not shown until just before ajaxStop is triggered. It works fine for the first ajax call, but for subsequent ajax call triggered by click on form button it does not work. Any idea what is wrong with this setup?

• Pure CSS3 show/hide full height div with transition

  Dear Stackoverflow readers, I've been breaking my head over something I've seen at Tympanus, and I can't figure out how to properly do such a thing. In this link: http://tympanus.net/Tutorials/FullscreenBookBlock/ you can see that the menu is completely hidden, and only visible when you click on an icon. It has a lovely transition, and it basically roughly sums up what I'm trying to accomplish. The only difference with the above example is that I don't want to completely hide this full-height element, and I'd like to accomplish the above effect with a hover instead of having to click a button. So in an ideal world you'd see a vertical bar, and when you hover over that bar (or click on it with your finger if you're on a tablet), it "opens up" and shows you the full content inside the opened div. Now, I can make a decent bit in html5 and css3, but the above explained effect that I'm trying to accomplish has given me serious headaches, hehe. Does anyone happen to know a tutorial I might have missed that does this exact thing? p.s.: I have tried to take apart Tympanus' html/css, but with the page-fold effect that's also implemented in it I can't seem to figure it out, hence my hope for someone here to help me on my way :)

How can I hide the tr and if its there the tr with the notes_row class below it without affecting the other rows using jquery? So if someone clicked cell3 the tr that link is in is hidden then if there is a notes table row below it, it hides that as well.

• jQuery to hide and show divs with an indicator

  Using the jQuery below to toggle the hiding and showing of divs of text: how would I add some sort of indicator - like an up and down arrow as a graphic - to the titles when the divs are either open and closed? What's the best way to do that? Two images? A CSS sprite? And most importantly: how would that be integrated into the JS? I've looked at other jQuery that assigns a random number to each div and then determines which are open and which are closed and toggles one of two images. But I'm using php in a WordPress loop to show a posts, and that gives problems with incrementing in the loop, so there must be an easier way that doesn't require changes in the name of the title div. • How to Create Auto Playlists in Windows Media Player 12

  Are you getting tired of the same old playlists in Windows Media Player? Today we’ll show you how to create dynamic auto playlists based on criteria you choose in WMP 12 in Windows 7. Auto Playlists In Library view, click on Create playlist dropdown arrow and select Create auto playlist. On the New Auto Playlist window type in a name for the playlist in the text box. Now we need to choose our criteria by which to filter your playlist. Select Click here to add criteria. For our example, we will create a playlist of songs that were added to the library in the last week from the Alternative genre. So, we will first select Date Added from the dropdown list. Many criteria will have addition options to configure. In the example below you will see that we have a few options to fine tune.   We will filter all the songs added to the library in the last 7 days. We will select Is After from the first dropdown list. Then select Last 7 Days from the second dropdown list. You can add multiple criteria to further filter your playlist. If you can’t find the criteria you are looking for, select “More” at the bottom of the dropdown list.   This will pull up a filter window with all the criteria. Select a filter and then click OK when finished.   From the Genre dropdown, we will select Alternative. If you’d like to add Pictures, Videos, or TV Shows to your auto playlists you can do so by selecting them from the dropdown list under And also include. You will then be able to select criteria for your pictures, videos, or TV shows from the dropdown list.   Finally, you can also add restrictions to your music such as the number of items, duration, or total size. We will limit the duration of our playlist to one hour by selecting Limit Total Duration To… Then type in 1 hour…Click OK.   Our library is automatically filtered and a playlist is created based on the criteria we selected. When additional songs are added to the Windows Media Player library, any of new songs that fit the criteria will automatically be added to the New Songs playlist. You can also save a copy of an auto playlist as a regular playlist. Switch to Playlists view by clicking Playlists from either the top menu or the navigation bar. Select the Play tab and then click Clear list to remove any tracks from the list pane.   Right-click on the playlist you want to save, select Add to, and then Play list. The songs from your auto playlist will appear as an Unsaved list on the list pane. Click Save list. Type in a name for your playlist. Your auto playlist will continue to change as you add or remove items from your Media Player library that meet the criteria you established. The new saved playlist we just created will stay as it is currently. Editing a Auto playlist is easy. Right-click on the playlist and select Edit. Now you are ready to enjoy your playlist. Conclusion Auto playlists are great way to keep your playlists fresh in Windows Media Player 12. Users can get creative and experiment with the wide variety of criteria to customize their listening experience. • Turning off auto indent when pasting text into vim

  Unfortunately, I am not an experienced vim user. But, I am making the effort to learn it. When I paste code into my document from the clipboard, I get extra spaces at the start of each new line: line line line I know you can turn off auto indent but mine doesn't seem to work because I have some other settings conflicting or something (which look pretty obvious in my .vimrc but don't seem to matter when I take them out). Can someone please show me the way to turn this off when I paste code but still have vim auto indent when I am writing code?   I have some bulk data in a text file that I need to import into a MySQL table. The table consists of two fields .. ID (integer with auto-increment) Name (varchar) The text file is a large collection of names with one name per line ... (example) John Doe Alex Smith Bob Denver I know how to import a text file via phpMyAdmin however, as far as I understand, I need to import data that has the same number of fields as the target table. Is there a way to import the data from my text file into one field and have the ID field auto-increment automatically? Thank you in advance for any help.

  As per the Q&A here, I'd like to implement a similar auto-versioning system for a web app running in JBoss 5. Is there anything already out there to do this sort of thing, or will I need to write something myself? To be clear: I am not using PHP. Not knowing much about PHP, I'm not sure what the Tomcat/JBoss analogs of PHP's .htaccess, etc. are. If I do have to write my own auto-versioning, where would I start? The principle is clear to me - rewriting the URL using the file's timestamp, but I don't know much about URL rewriting with JBoss/Tomcat.

According to mysql manual you can restart the value of an auto increment column like this: mysql ALTER TABLE tbl AUTO_INCREMENT = 100; However, this is not possible: mysql ALTER TABLE tb2 AUTO_INCREMENT = (SELECT MAX(id) FROM tbl1); I need to perform something like this because I'm filling the tables using a script. Is there another way to achieve it?

• MySQL: Changing order of auto-incremented primary keys?

  Hi, I have a table with a auto-incremented primary key: user_id. For a currently theoretical reason, I might need to change a user_id to be something else than it was when originally created through auto-incrementation. This means there's a possibility that the keys will not be in incremental order anymore: PK: 1 2 3 952 // changed key 4 5 6 7 I'm wondering whether this will cause problems, and whether MySQL reads something special to the incremental order of the keys, given that they should have come to existence in incremental order (which persists even when some rows are deleted). Assuming there are no associated foreignkey issues, or that these are under control, is there a problem with "messing with" the order of MySQL's autoincremented keys? Thank you.

It works in all browsers. The only issue I'm running into is that in IE6 the video keeps playing and in other browsers it stops the video your watching and loads the one you clicked on. I looked into using the .remove object or the .append to a div, but I can't seem to get that to work and if it does work will it play nice with IE6. Try it out and maybe solve my issues.

• Hide Soft Keyboard Not Working ...

  I'm developing on the Droid Incredible (and have tested on a 1.5 AVD Emulator as well), and one of the tabs in my tab widget consists of a listview and a row with an EditText and a Send button (for a chat feature). I am using the following to close the soft keyboard once I click Send, but it's not working. This is identical to code I've found elsewhere that people have upvoted as correct. See anything I'm missing? // in Button's onClick(): EditText chatTextBox = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.chat_entry); // Handle button click ... chatTextBox.setText(""); InputMethodManager imm = (InputMethodManager)getSystemService(Context.INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE); imm.hideSoftInputFromInputMethod(chatTextBox.getWindowToken(), InputMethodManager.HIDE_IMPLICIT_ONLY); I also tried changing the flag to 0. No luck. Anyone know what's up??

  I have made simple jQuery script that should show div element when hovering mouse over another div (image). Here is my code: jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery("#slider").hover(function(){ jQuery("#slider .hovercontent").fadeTo('fast', 1); },function(){ jQuery('#slider .hovercontent').fadeTo('slow', 0); }); }); Here is url for page: http://asiakas.henripylvas.com/henripylvas/ This works flawless on FF, Chrome, Safari and Opera but when using IE8 or 9 image in #slider div disappear. What is wrong? Tried to search answer for this but no luck. Thanks.

  I have 3 images on top of each other. The first one is a normal .jpg image, the second a greyscale version and the 3rd is some kind of effect i add with a transparent .png Now what i want is that, if i move the mouse over those images, the greyscale image is hidden or replaced by another image and afterwards visible again.
