  • Unable to send mail to hotmail from rackspace cloud

    I'm having issue sending mail from postfix on a rackspace cloud instance for my domain. Hotmail says "550 SC-001 (SNT0-MC4-F35) Unfortunately, messages from 198.101.x.x weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list.     I have a list of people: Column A: person A, person A guest, person B, person C, person C guest, ... Column B: 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, ... So in column A there is the person's name, column B gives a person a unique ID (the same id for their guest so we know that they are together). Now pretend we have a list of 100 people (also note that not all persons have guests) and we have to seat them. We have a list of tables (for example 10 * 4 person table and 10*6 person tables). We have to randomize that each person is assigned to a table and the guest is seated on the same table. What is the best way to do this? (it is also needed that I can generate this 4 times in a row without the same results, so when during the 4 courses of the diner the person are switching tables but not losing their guest).

  • Localhost stop resolving/serving local site after a few clicks IIS 7.5

    previously I have searched tried to find the answer from a previous question, however Im not sure it was resolved. I could comment on the question to find more, so decided to post a new question. Previous question found (http://serverfault.com/questions/314333/localhost-stop-resolving-after-a-few-minutes-iis-7-5) So I set up a new website on Windows 7 IIS 7.5 ... I give it a host header and in the hosts file I add the entry for 127.0.0.1 and browse the site. After about the second or third time of trying to click around on the local site, it starts hanging ... just seems to be looking like its trying to load, but just eventually comes back in Firefox with "The connection was reset" (takes about 30-50 secs before this happens). I then used a program like CurrPorts, to view the ports that are listening, and for the initial request it all seems good. Now after the site is hanging, I dont see the hit coming through anymore. Its as if the browser loses touch with IIS or something. If I open a different browser, works fine for about 2 clicks or so, then same problem. Anyone know what could be causing this? Or how to resolve?

    Hey, So my kern.log and syslog files filled up with tons of the below messages: [514971.000109] phy0 - rt2x00usb_vendor_request: Error - Vendor Request 0x07 failed for offset 0x30c4 with error -108. I was curious as to the steps to take, commands to run, places to look to help diagnose this issue (and curious as to what caused it)? I'm guessing it's something usb elated. I had some issues with my printer earlier today so this might be related. Thanks, Alex

    I am curious to know why do companies hand you a blank paper and ask you to write code? This confuses me, because these days intellisense, google, stackoverflow etc are common sources to look up syntax and / or IDE gives you a colored indicator if your syntax is wrong. I usually get stressed out during these situations. I am curious to know opinions of other developers. I am posting this on this forum, hoping to get helpful feedback from other experienced developers.

  • How do you enable wobbly windows in ubuntu 11.04 without using compiz?

    I'm curious if there's a way to enable the more fun UI features in Ubuntu 11.04 that were available in previous versions. The effects I'm most curious about is the wobbly windows and the alt tab program switcher that looked like a rolodex. Those things were delightful. I've been reading about the compiz tool and since I'm a pretty noob user, I don't think I want to risk destroying my desktop for a chance to get these effects back. Any help would be appreciated.     Just tapping away and automatically made use of that one logic algorithm I always use, which you'll probably guess is: (not A) OR (not B) = not (A AND B) Curious if this is the case for just about everyone else, and more curious if there is a different algorithm that other programmers make use of that is just as if not more useful to them.   • transforming 1d (1column) into 5d(5column) matrix through copy paste or other

    Ex. I want to take the column with 12345..... and order 5 columns across as seen. next 5 numbers in column will be next row. However my code creates a 4 row gap in between each successive row. I dont know what additional logic (possibly if then statement) I can embed into do loop to may make it cleaner.     I would like to iterate a calculation over a column of values in a MySQL database. I wondered if Django had any built-in functionality for doing this.     Hello all, I have a ASPxGridView with DetailRow in this row there are three additional ASPxGridViews. Each detail ASPxGridView contains EmptyDataRow templates with link to create a new row: <a href="javascript:gridViewDetails1.AddNewRow();">AddNewRecord</a> When master ASPxGridView rows is 1 or 2 then new rows in detail grids adding fine, but if in master ASPxGridView rows about 10 or more then when I clicking on detail grids link to add new row the loading panel appers for unlimited time and FireBug-Net shows that status of POST is timeout and time is about 1 sec. How can I repair it? To AGoodDisplayName: are the detail row gridviews bound to anything? yes of course, inside the details row of master gridView there are 3 another gridView and each of them have a separate ObjectDataSource.     Hello everybody, I have a google map with my own map type: var currentProjection = new GMercatorProjection(maxLevels + 1); var mapBounds = new GLatLngBounds(new GLatLng(-9, -15), new GLatLng(9, 15)); var custommap = new GMapType(tilelayers, currentProjection, "Some project"); map.addMapType(custommap); map.setCenter(mapBounds.getCenter(), minLevels, custommap); When user clicks on map then context menu appears (singlerightclick event), from context menu user can add markers and I need a GLatLng value to add marker to the map but singlerightclick event contains only GPoint value. I try to use next statement: map.getCurrentMapType().getProjection().fromPixelToLatLng(pointValueFromEvent, map.getZoom()); but it wasn't helpfull (GLatLng value is outside of my map). I think it's because I use my own map type, how can I get GLatLng value to add the marker? Best regards, Alex.

I like it but it seems that unlike MSTest or mbunit etc... you cannot test internal methods So I am forced to make public some internal implementation in my interface so that i can test it. The webservice (.Net 1.1) uses HttpContext.Current.Request.UserLanguages[0] to determine the language to use. But the value of this member is alway null. So is there a way to pass the Accept-Language header along with something like "en-GB" set?

  • Handling large datasets with PHP/Drupal

    Hi all, I have a report page that deals with ~700k records from a database table. I can display this on a webpage using paging to break up the results. However, my export to PDF/CSV functions rely on processing the entire data set at once and I'm hitting my 256MB memory limit at around 250k rows. I don't feel comfortable increasing the memory limit and I haven't got the ability to use MySQL's save into outfile to just serve a pre-generated CSV. However, I can't really see a way of serving up large data sets with Drupal using something like: $form = array(); $table_headers = array(); $table_rows = array(); $data = db_query("a query to get the whole dataset"); while ($row = db_fetch_object($data)) { $table_rows[] = $row->some attribute; } $form['report'] = array('#value' => theme('table', $table_headers, $table_rows); return $form; Is there a way of getting around what is essentially appending to a giant array of arrays? At the moment I don't see how I can offer any meaningful report pages with Drupal due to this. Thanks

  • TCP/IP performance tuning under KVM/Qemu

    With more and more companies switching to public cloud services, I'm curious what you guys' thoughts are on TCP/IP tuning in the cloud. Is it worth bothering with? Given that you don't have access to the host-server, you're somewhat limited I presume Let's say for the sake of the argument that you're running three MongoDB-servers in a replica-set on FreeBSD or Linux that all sync over an internal network. I'd also be curious if anyone made any actual performance benchmarks to back up their arguments. I benchmarked the various network drivers available for KVM/Qemu here, but I'm curious what the gurus here suggest to tune further. I started playing around a bit with the tuning-recommendations as suggested over here, but interestingly enough I saw a decrease in performance, rather than an increase, but perhaps I didn't fully understand the tweaks. Update: I did a few more benchmarks and posted the result here. Unfortunately the result wasn't really what I expected.
