  • Follow cursor location from kile to evince.

    I know the title is probably not very clear, so I'll try to be as clear as possible here. I'm running xubuntu on my netbook, and I'm using kile for my latex editing. Since kile is native to kde, I had to manually set it to open pdfs and dvis on evince instead of okular. Now, last time I played around with LaTeX I was using TeXnic center on windows, and it had a very neat feature. Whenever I hit "QuickBuild", not only would it open the output .dvi file, but it would also show me exactly the piece of text I was editing. That is, if I were editing line 13 of the 7th of my document, when I compiled it, the dvi viewer would automatically take me to line 13 on the 7th page of the document, so I wouldn't have to scroll all the way down to it every time I compiled the .tex file. I'm guessing this is a pretty standard feature, and kile probably supports it. But since I don't know what it's called, I'm trying to be clear as to what I'm talking about. Problem is, this feature is not working for me right now, and I'm guessing it's either because evince does not support it, or because I have to manually configure it. Which one is it? And how do I manually configure it, if that's the case?

  • Printer options follow Office documents

    One person (John) creates an Office document, and prints this document to his HP printer which is using HP Universal Printing PS (v4.7) driver. He has got Job Storage (Personal job) enabled for this printer, with custom username and a personal PIN. He later sends this document in an e-mail to his colleagues. Another person (Anne) opens the document, and tries to print the document to her HP printer (also using HP Universal Printing driver), but is not able to fetch it on the printer. The Job Storage options from Johns computer follows the Office Excel document, so Anne has to change this manually to her username and her PIN before she can print. What on earth is causing this, and how do we fix it?

  • Windows XP Does Not Follow CNAME Shares

    I am supporting a mix of Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 desktops in my Active Directory network, and I am having an odd issue with XP and CNAME records. Say I have a record in my DNS for a server with an A name of something like STORAGE.company.local and give it a CNAME of NAS.company.local. I can go onto an XP and 7 computer, and ping NAS and it will automatically resolve to STORAGE.company.local. If I am on Windows 7 and go to run and enter \\STORAGE or \\NAS, it will go to that server in Explorer. If I do the same in XP, STORAGE will work but NAS will not. It just times out Is there some setting buried in XP to make this work properly?

  • IE6 does not follow 302 redirect - displays 404 instead

    One of our clients has reported that they are experiencing 404 (file not found) errors when attempting to navigate a website that we support. The behaviour only appears to affect her - other users on the same machine can navigate the website fine, but the problem follows her from one PC to another. I've had a good look through the IIS server logs and have identified the requests in question. The normal request pattern is as follows: POST /page.aspx - 80 - ... 401 1 0 POST /page.aspx - 80 DOMAIN/user ... 302 0 0 GET /anotherPage.aspx Request=833f80a5-f34c-4b0e-addb-d73e1ee1663a 80 - ... 401 1 0 GET /anotherPage.aspx Request=833f80a5-f34c-4b0e-addb-d73e1ee1663a 80 DOMAIN/user ... 200 0 However, requests for the affected user do not include a request for the redirected page, nor an entry for the 404, i.e.: POST /page.aspx - 80 - ... 401 1 0 POST /page.aspx - 80 DOMAIN/user ... 302 0 0 ... other unrelated requests Can anyone suggest what might trigger this behaviour, and how I might investigate the cause or prevent it from occuring? I read here that the Allow META refresh option in IE6 might trigger this behaviour, but I have not been able to replicate the behaviour by modifying this setting only.

    I have a LAMP server (Ubuntu 12.10) setup on my development machine. It is a T60 modified with an SSD. The server base is in /var/www. Apache has the following config: DocumentRoot /var/www <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None </Directory> <Directory /var/www/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews SymLinksIfOwnerMatch AllowOverride all Order allow,deny allow from all </Directory> I'm currently developing a SilverStripe CMS featured site. The folder for the server is /var/www/sfk/. The framework and all cms relavant features are in their respective folders. The only folder that need to be modified would be the /var/www/sfk/mysite folder. Because of that I want to keep the mysite folder under my home directory and symlink it into the server folder.     I have a custom script that is querying a metric port for an application that I'm running and submitting parsed values to ganglia via gmetric. The script runs every minute, so I submit the data to ganglia using the following gmetric options: /usr/sbin/gmetric -g ec2 -s positive -t uint32 -d 600 -n "$NAME" -v $VALUE -x 60 But for some reason there are still gaps in the graphing data: Is there something in my formatting that is preventing the dmax/ttl of the last metric received from being honored? Is there anyone who does custom metric collection that has run into this problem before that can shed some insight or provide some tips as to how to best correct this?

"you need to run your own private dns with artificial records for example pandora.com you also need a real dns to fall back on. now that all requests for these sites are going to your US located box you can open up port 80 on squid and listen for the traffic. your cache_peer settings should allow you to map each domain to their real ip. The trafic now flows initially from your US located box to the service but then the server responds it responds directly to the host. no magic here. I won't share the fine details as it probably best serves all to not over exploit this." Did you mean we need to 1. Setup Forward-only DNS on a US-based server/ip? 2. Setup cache_peer and cache_peer_domain in Squid, I got this. 3. Any iptables rule, prerouting, postrouting rules needed to accomplish this? Appreciate your expert advice. Cheers, Don

    I am trying to design tables to buildout a follower relationship. Say I have a stream of 140char records that have user, hashtag and other text. Users follow other users, and can also follow hashtags. I am outlining the way I've designed this below, but there are two limitaions in my design. I was wondering if others had smarter ways to accomplish the same goal. The issues with this are The list of followers is copied in for each record If a new follower is added or one removed, 'all' the records have to be updated.     In Javascript code, I would like to programmatically cause the browser to follow a link that's on my page. Simple case: <a id="foo" href="mailto:[email protected]">something</a> function goToBar() { $('#foo').trigger('follow'); } This is hypothetical as it doesn't actually work. And no, triggering click doesn't do it. I am aware of window.location and window.open but these differ from native link-following in some ways that matter to me: a) in the presence of a <base /> element, and b) in the case of mailto URLs. The latter in particular is significant. In Firefox at least, calling window.location.href = "mailto:[email protected]" causes the window's unload handlers to fire, whereas simply clicking a mailto link does not, as far as I can tell. I'm looking for a way to trigger the browser's default handling of links, from Javascript code. Does such a mechanism exist? Toolkit-specific answers also welcome (especially for Gecko).

    Dear experts, I wanted have a dynamic division of content follow you with the cursor in the web browser space. I often experience a lag on the browser as a drag my mouse from one place to another. Is there a way to accomplish this easier and faster and more intuitive. I know you can use the cursor image technique but thats something I'm looking to avoid. Thanks in advance.

The service forms the URL, and then internally creates the HTTPURLConnection. If I can grab hold of the connection I would be able to set the followRedirect to true. But not getting a handle of the same. Its urgent, any help would be highly appreciated.

But what to do with this kind of links: <a href="http://example.com"><img src="…"></a> Is there any way to follow such links? The text attribute of this type of links is simply '[IMG]', so AFAIK, there is no way to differentiate such links. Any help would be appreciated.

  • SlickGrid V2.0 Column name/id does not follow column when dragging

    I have an application (using SlickGrid) where I need to get the column name or id at any time when user clicks on a cell (this pulls up a menu specific to the data in that column/cell). Grid works fine initially but if the column is moved (drag/drop), the column name/id does not follow the drop but remains mapped to it's initial column position. Has anyone else seen this and, if so, how did you fix it? Thanks

    Hello there, is it possible to follow a link by it's class name instead of the id, text or title? Given I have (haha, cucumber insider he?) the following html code: <div id="some_information_container"> <a href="edit" class="edit_button">Translation here</a> </div> I do not want to match by text because I'd have to care about the translation values in my tests I want to have my buttons look all the same style, so I will use the CSS class. I don't want to assign a id to every single link, because some of them are perfectly identified through the container and the link class Is there anything I missed in Cucumber/Webrat? Or do you have some advices to solve this in a better way?   • Line of code doesnt follow sequential execution

    I am trying to institute code reviews at my company, and recently we had our first code review meeting. During the meeting, several positive suggestions were made and I added TODO comments in my code for following up. After reading suggestions on here on best practices for code reviews, I would like to follow up on all the items I corrected at the start of the next meeting. Is there a way to add a similar type of comment to the code such as FOLLOWUP so that I can quickly highlight through those code segments in the next meeting?

  • A follow up on type coercion in C++, as it may be construed by type conversion

    This is a follow up to my previous question. Consider that I write a function with the following prototype: int a_function(Foo val); Where foo is believed to be a type defined unsigned int. This is unfortunately not verifiable for lack of documentation. So, someone comes along and uses a_function, but calls it with an unsigned int as an argument. Here the story takes a turn. Foo turns out to actually be a class, which can take an unsigned int as a single argument of unsigned int in an explicit constructor. Is it a standard and reliable behavior for the compiler to render the function call by doing a type conversion on the argument. I.e. is the compiler supposed to recognize the mismatch and insert the constructor? Or should I get a compile time error reporting the type mismatch.
