  • Hibernate - Batch update returned unexpected row count from update: 0 actual row count: 0 expected:

    - by Sujee
Hi All, I get following hibernate error. I am able to identify the function which causes the issue. Unfortunately there are several DB calls in the function. I am unable to find the line which causes the issue since hibernate flush the session at the end of the transaction. The below mentioned hibernate error looks like a general error. it doesn't even mentioned which Bean causes the issue. Anyone familiar with this hibernate error? Looking forward your help. Thanks in advance. Sujee. org.hibernate.StaleStateException: Batch update returned unexpected row count from update: 0 actual row count: 0 expected: 1 at org.hibernate.jdbc.BatchingBatcher.checkRowCount(BatchingBatcher.java:93) at org.hibernate.jdbc.BatchingBatcher.checkRowCounts(BatchingBatcher.java:79) at org.hibernate.jdbc.BatchingBatcher.doExecuteBatch(BatchingBatcher.java:58) at org.hibernate.jdbc.AbstractBatcher.executeBatch(AbstractBatcher.java:195) at org.hibernate.engine.ActionQueue.executeActions(ActionQueue.java:235) at org.hibernate.engine.ActionQueue.executeActions(ActionQueue.java:142) at org.hibernate.event.def.AbstractFlushingEventListener.performExecutions(AbstractFlushingEventListener.java:297) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultFlushEventListener.onFlush(DefaultFlushEventListener.java:27) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.flush(SessionImpl.java:985) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.managedFlush(SessionImpl.java:333) at org.hibernate.transaction.JDBCTransaction.commit(JDBCTransaction.java:106) at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager.doCommit(HibernateTransactionManager.java:584) at org.springframework.transaction.support.AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.processCommit(AbstractPlatformTransacti onManager.java:500) at org.springframework.transaction.support.AbstractPlatformTransactionManager.commit(AbstractPlatformTransactionManag er.java:473) at org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionAspectSupport.doCommitTransactionAfterReturning(Transaction AspectSupport.java:267) at org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionInterceptor.invoke(TransactionInterceptor.java:106) at org.springframework.aop.framework.ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed(ReflectiveMethodInvocation.java:170) at org.springframework.aop.framework.JdkDynamicAopProxy.invoke(JdkDynamicAopProxy.java:176)

  • Lazy loading in Hibernate

    - by Steve
My Java Web application uses Hibernate to perform ORM. In some of my objects, I use lazy loading to avoid getting data until I absolutely need it. The problem is that I load the initial object in a session, and then that session is destroyed. When I later attempt to resolve the lazy-loaded collections in my object I get the following error: org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: common.model.impl.User.groups, no session or session was closed I tried associating a new session with the collection and then resolving, but this gives the same results. Does anyone know how I can resolve the lazy collections once the original session is gone? Thanks... --Steve

  • How Can I switch the session storage according to the client on Ruby on Rails 2.3.5

    - by mojalin
Hi! I have a question about sessions on ruby-on-rails. We have a several options about session storage such as cookie, active_record_store, etc.. I primarily use the cookie storage, but, there are some client which doesn't support cookie function. In that case, I have to make that client to use the "active_record_store". My rails version is 2.3.5. I found out that even though I use the active_record_store, the cookie is still available. In my situation, both session storage might be available. So, I want to make the framework to primarily use the cookie, when the cookie is available. On the other hand, the client doesn't support the cookie, secondly to use the active_record_store. I think this function requires some override to the framework, but I don't know how to do it. Do you have any idea for that? Thank you very much in advance.

  • Oracle 9i Session Disconnections

    - by mlaverd
[Cross-Posting from ServerFault] I am in a development environment, and our test Oracle 9i server has been misbehaving for a few days now. What happens is that we have our JDBC connections disconnecting after a few successful connections. We got this box set up by our IT department and handed over to. It is 'our problem', so options like 'ask you DBA' isn't going to help me. :( Our server is set up with 3 plain databases (one is the main dev db, the other is the 'experimental' dev db). We use the Oracle 10 ojdbc14.jar thin JDBC driver (because of some bug in the version 9 of the driver). We're using Hibernate to talk to the DB. The only thing that I can see that changed is that we now have more users connecting to the server. Instead of one developer, we now have 3. With the Hibernate connection pools, I'm thinking that maybe we're hitting some limit? Anyone has any idea what's going on? Here's the stack trace on the client: Caused by: org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: could not execute query at org.hibernate.exception.SQLStateConverter.handledNonSpecificException(SQLStateConverter.java:126) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.exception.SQLStateConverter.convert(SQLStateConverter.java:114) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.exception.JDBCExceptionHelper.convert(JDBCExceptionHelper.java:66) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.doList(Loader.java:2235) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.listIgnoreQueryCache(Loader.java:2129) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.list(Loader.java:2124) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.loader.hql.QueryLoader.list(QueryLoader.java:401) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.hql.ast.QueryTranslatorImpl.list(QueryTranslatorImpl.java:363) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.engine.query.HQLQueryPlan.performList(HQLQueryPlan.java:196) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.list(SessionImpl.java:1149) [hibernate3.jar:na] at org.hibernate.impl.QueryImpl.list(QueryImpl.java:102) [hibernate3.jar:na] ... • Metacity malfunction preventing custom Gnome session from launching?

    - by QuietThud
When I try to run Metacity in Ubuntu2D(12.04), I get the following message: alisa@ubuntu:~$ metacity Window manager warning: Screen 0 on display ":2.0" already has a window manager; try using the --replace option to replace the current window manager. I get the same message when running Compiz from the command line in 3D (it opens fine through the GUI (same thing for AWN)). I understand that these should be the default managers for the respective sessions. I'm trying to create a custom Gnome session using the following instructions: unity launcher-free session. Here is what I've put into my .session file: [GNOME Session] Name=Custom Unity2D Session RequiredComponents=gnome-settings-daemon; RequiredProviders=windowmanager;panel; DefaultProvider-windowmanager=metacity DefaultProvider-panel=unity-2d-panel FallbackSession=ubuntu-2d DesktopName=GNOME Since I'm having problems identifying my default, and the code refers to Metacity, I figured this may be relevant to my inability to load the custom session (it shows up on my login screen, but won't launch). I tried specifying Metacity as my default manager by adding exec metacity to the .xinitrc file, and I tried running metacity --replace, but neither worked. How do I determine my current default window manager, what should the default be, and how do I re-assign it? Also, please let me know if you think there may be other issues affecting my custom session. I am new to Linux, so list anything you think might be helpful. Thank you!

  • Hibernate between OS X and Bootcamp Win 7

    - by Willem
Wouldn't it be great if someone wrote a guide or an app which allowed you to switch instantly between OS X and Windows using Hibernate in both OS:s? Windows 7 already has an option "Hibernate" which allows you to boot back to your OS X partition, but OS X does not exactly offer the same. However, there are possibilities here. It seems that the recent Mac's have 3 different kinds of sleeping mode: Sleep: Low power consumption, RAM still active. Legacy Safe Sleep: No power consumption(?), writes RAM to disk and shuts down (is this the same as Hibernate?) Safe Sleep: Writes RAM to disk and enters sleep mode. If battery level drops too low it goes into Hibernate (is this Hibernate the same as #2 in this list? This is the Hibernate I will be referring to int he rest of this post) It seems that I am unable to force my MacBook Pro (Late 2011) OS X 10.7.3 into a true hibernate using either command line or apps that are supposed to do this. I believe the Mac should show that white loading bar whilst waking up if it was truly put into hibernate (which it does not). But I can get this white bar to show by letting my battery level drop to 0% so there is obviously a system function for it (obviously, duh! :). When Win 7 goes into hibernate it shuts down completely and you can then boot into OS X on startup. On OS X however, hibernate forces you to wake up into OS X. Can you hack this so that you're allowed to select boot partition after OS X hibernates? Would it be possible to use the true hibernate system functionalities of Win 7 and OS X to create a kind of instant switching between the two? Imagine this on a quick SATA-3 SSD like my 180GB Intel 520. Thanks / Willem

  • How does this Singleton-like web class persists session data, even though session is not updated in

    - by Micah Burnett
    Ok, I've got this singleton-like web class which uses session to maintain state. I initially thought I was going to have to manipulate the session variables on each "set" so that the new values were updated in the session. However I tried using it as-is, and somehow, it remembers state. For example, if run this code on one page: UserContext.Current.User.FirstName = "Micah"; And run this code in a different browser tab, FirstName is displayed correctly: Response.Write(UserContext.Current.User.FirstName); Can someone tell me (prove) how this data is getting persisted in the session? Here is the class: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; public class UserContext { private UserContext() { } public static UserContext Current { get { if (System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["UserContext"] == null) { UserContext uc = new UserContext(); uc.User = new User(); System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["UserContext"] = uc; } return (UserContext)System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["UserContext"]; } } private string HospitalField; public string Hospital { get { return HospitalField; } set { HospitalField = value; ContractField = null; ModelType = null; } } private string ContractField; public string Contract { get { return ContractField; } set { ContractField = value; ModelType = string.Empty; } } private string ModelTypeField; public string ModelType { get { return ModelTypeField; } set { ModelTypeField = value; } } private User UserField; public User User { get { return UserField; } set { UserField = value; } } public void DoSomething() { } } public class User { public int UserId { get; set; } public string FirstName { get; set; } } I added this to a watch, and can see that the session variable is definitely being set somewhere: (UserContext)System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["UserContext"]; As soon as a setter is called the Session var is immediately updated: set { HospitalField = value; //<--- here ContractField = null; ModelType = null; }

  • Java: Tracking a user login session - Session EJBs vs HTTPSession

    - by bguiz
If I want to keep track of a conversational state with each client using my web application, which is the better alternative - a Session Bean or a HTTP Session - to use? Using HTTP Session: //request is a variable of the class javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest //UserState is a POJO HttpSession session = request.getSession(true); UserState state = (UserState)(session.getAttribute("UserState")); if (state == null) { //create default value .. } String uid = state.getUID(); //now do things with the user id Using Session EJB: In the implementation of ServletContextListener registered as a Web Application Listener in WEB-INF/web.xml: //UserState NOT a POJO this this time, it is //the interface of the UserStateBean Stateful Session EJB @EJB private UserState userStateBean; public void contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent sce) { ServletContext servletContext = sce.getServletContext(); servletContext.setAttribute("UserState", userStateBean); ... In a JSP: public void jspInit() { UserState state = (UserState)(getServletContext().getAttribute("UserState")); ... } Elsewhere in the body of the same JSP: String uid = state.getUID(); //now do things with the user id It seems to me that the they are almost the same, with the main difference being that the UserState instance is being transported in the HttpRequest.HttpSession in the former, and in a ServletContext in the case of the latter. Which of the two methods is more robust, and why?

  • Why does every thread in my application use a different hibernate session?

    - by Ittai
Hi, I have a web-application which uses hibernate and for some reason every thread (httprequest or other threads related to queueing) uses a different session. I've implemented a HibernateSessionFactory class which looks like this: public class HibernateSessionFactory { private static final ThreadLocal<Session> threadLocal = new ThreadLocal<Session>(); private static Configuration configuration = new AnnotationConfiguration(); private static org.hibernate.SessionFactory sessionFactory; static { try { configuration.configure(configFile); sessionFactory = configuration.buildSessionFactory(); } catch (Exception e) {} } private HibernateSessionFactory() {} public static Session getSession() throws HibernateException { Session session = (Session) threadLocal.get(); if (session == null || !session.isOpen()) { if (sessionFactory == null) { rebuildSessionFactory();//This method basically does what the static init block does } session = (sessionFactory != null) ? sessionFactory.openSession(): null; threadLocal.set(session); } return session; } //More non relevant methods here. Now from my testing it seems that the threadLocal member is indeed initialized only once when the class is first loaded by the JVM but for some reason when different threads access the getSession() method they use different sessions. When a thread first accesses this class (Session) threadLocal.get(); will return null but as expected all other access requests will yeild the same session. I'm not sure how this can be happening as the threadLocal variable is final and the method threadLocal.set(session) is only used in the above context (which I'm 99.9% sure has to yeild a non null session as I would have encountered a NullPointerException at a different part of my app). I'm not sure this is relevant but these are the main parts of my hibernate.cfg.xml file: <hibernate-configuration> <session-factory> <property name="connection.url">someURL</property> <property name="connection.driver_class"> com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver</property> <property name="dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServerDialect</property> <property name="hibernate.connection.isolation">1</property> <property name="hibernate.connection.username">User</property> <property name="hibernate.connection.password">Password</property> <property name="hibernate.connection.pool_size">10</property> <property name="show_sql">false</property> <property name="current_session_context_class">thread</property> <property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">update</property> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache">false</property> <property name="hibernate.cache.provider_class">org.hibernate.cache.NoCacheProvider</property> <!-- Mapping files --> I'd appreciate any help granted and of course if anyone has any questions I'd be happy to clarify. • Save chromium browser's session

    - by Anwar Shah
How to manually save session in chromium-brower. I have a Notebook with damaged battery (only gives 5~6 minutes of backup, planning to buy a new one), and in our country "Load Shedding" (power outages) is quite common. So, I had to close my session before shutting down my laptop. When I re-open chromium, there is no tab with previous session. The question is: How can i manually save my session before closing the laptop?

  • XFCE session with GNOME in background

    - by 100rabh
Hi askUbuntu I recently installed XFCE on my Ubuntu 10.04 and it runs finely but with an issue. Everytime I login into my XFCE session I see the background image of GNOME session and after few seconds it disappears which gives me the impression that XFCE session is running over an already running GNOME session. If that is really the case then it might also be eating into my system's RAM which could be a bug. All helps and suggestions are welcome.

  • How to configure path to mappings to be used in hibernate.cfg.xml with maven (hbm2cfgxml)

    - by user342358
Hi, can any one tell me how to force maven to precede mapping .hbm.xml files in the automatically generated hibernate.cfg.xml file with package path? My general idea is, I'd like to use hibernate-tools via maven to generate the persistence layer for my application. So, I need the hibernate.cfg.xml, then all my_table_names.hbm.xml and at the end the POJO's generated. Yet, the hbm2java goal won't work as I put *.hbm.xml files into the src/main/resources/package/path/ folder but hbm2cfgxml specifies the mapping files only by table name, i.e.: <mapping resource="MyTableName.hbm.xml" /> So the big question is: how can I configure hbm2cfgxml so that hibernate.cfg.xml looks like below: <mapping resource="package/path/MyTableName.hbm.xml" /> My pom.xml looks like this at the moment: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>hibernate3-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.2</version> <executions> <execution> <id>hbm2cfgxml</id> <phase>generate-sources</phase> <goals> <goal>hbm2cfgxml</goal> </goals> <inherited>false</inherited> <configuration> <components> <component> <name>hbm2cfgxml</name> <implemetation>jdbcconfiguration</implementation> <outputDirectory>src/main/resources/</outputDirectory> </component> </components> <componentProperties> <packagename>package.path</packageName> <configurationFile>src/main/resources/hibernate.cfg.xml</configurationFile> </componentProperties> </configuration> </execution> </executions> </plugin> And then the second question: is there a way to tell maven to copy resources to the target folder before executing hbm2java? At the moment I'm using mvn clean resources:resources generate-sources for that, but there must be a better way. Thanks for any help.

  • Session Bean returning another Remote Session Bean reference [JBOSS]

    - by mrlinx
Hi all, I have a Stateless Session Bean in my JBoss Server that contains a function returning an instance of another Session Bean (this one is stateful). My problem arises because this returned object doesn't seem to keep its persistence model (the EntityManager is null). What is the right way to return from a Session Bean another Session Bean, keeping its remote "connection"?

  • Is it a missing implementation with JPA implementation of hibernate??

    - by Jegan
Hi all, On my way in understanding the transaction-type attribute of persistence.xml, i came across an issue / discrepency between hibernate-core and JPA-hibernate which looks weird. I am not pretty sure whether it is a missing implementation with JPA of hibernate. Let me post the comparison between the outcome of JPA implementation and the hibernate implementation of the same concept. Environment Eclipse 3.5.1 JSE v1.6.0_05 Hibernate v3.2.3 [for hibernate core] Hibernate-EntityManger v3.4.0 [for JPA] MySQL DB v5.0 Issue 1.Hibernate core package com.expt.hibernate.core; import java.io.Serializable; public final class Student implements Serializable { private int studId; private String studName; private String studEmailId; public Student(final String studName, final String studEmailId) { this.studName = studName; this.studEmailId = studEmailId; } public int getStudId() { return this.studId; } public String getStudName() { return this.studName; } public String getStudEmailId() { return this.studEmailId; } private void setStudId(int studId) { this.studId = studId; } private void setStudName(String studName) { this.studName = stuName; } private void setStudEmailId(int studEmailId) { this.studEmailId = studEmailId; } } 2. JPA implementaion of Hibernate package com.expt.hibernate.jpa; import java.io.Serializable; import javax.persistence.Column; import javax.persistence.Entity; import javax.persistence.GeneratedValue; import javax.persistence.Id; import javax.persistence.Table; @Entity @Table(name = "Student_Info") public final class Student implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name = "STUD_ID", length = 5) private int studId; @Column(name = "STUD_NAME", nullable = false, length = 25) private String studName; @Column(name = "STUD_EMAIL", nullable = true, length = 30) private String studEmailId; public Student(final String studName, final String studEmailId) { this.studName = studName; this.studEmailId = studEmailId; } public int getStudId() { return this.studId; } public String getStudName() { return this.studName; } public String getStudEmailId() { return this.studEmailId; } } Also, I have provided the DB configuration properties in the associated hibernate-cfg.xml [in case of hibernate core] and persistence.xml [in case of JPA (hibernate entity manager)]. create a driver and perform add a student and query for the list of students and print their details. Then the issue comes when you run the driver program. Hibernate core - output Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.InstantiationException: No default constructor for entity: com.expt.hibernate.core.Student at org.hibernate.tuple.PojoInstantiator.instantiate(PojoInstantiator.java:84) at org.hibernate.tuple.PojoInstantiator.instantiate(PojoInstantiator.java:100) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.AbstractEntityTuplizer.instantiate(AbstractEntityTuplizer.java:351) at org.hibernate.persister.entity.AbstractEntityPersister.instantiate(AbstractEntityPersister.java:3604) .... .... Could anyone please let me know if you have encountered this sort of inconsistency? Also, could anyone please let me know if the issue is a missing implementation with JPA-Hibernate? ~ Jegan

  • Reuse another ASP.NET session (set Session ID)

    - by queen3
My problem is that when I open web application from Outlook in a separate IE window, the ASP.NET session is lost. This is (as described in several places) because in-memory cookie is lost. So it goes like this: User works with ASP.NET web application in Outlook, and this stores some info in ASP.NET session User clicks Print to open new IE window with print-ready data The new window has different ASP.NET session ID and can't access old data. I think, maybe, if I pass ASP.NET session ID to new IE window, I can somehow "attach" to that session? Tell ASP.NET that this is the one that I need to be current?

  • Hibernate : Foreign key constraint violation problem

    - by Vinze
I have a com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException in my code (using Hibernate and Spring) and I can't figure why. My entities are Corpus and Semspace and there's a many-to-one relation from Semspace to Corpus as defined in my hibernate mapping configuration : <class name="xxx.entities.Semspace" table="Semspace" lazy="false" batch-size="30"> <id name="id" column="idSemspace" type="java.lang.Integer" unsaved-value="null"> <generator class="identity"/> </id> <property name="name" column="name" type="java.lang.String" not-null="true" unique="true" /> <many-to-one name="corpus" class="xxx.entities.Corpus" column="idCorpus" insert="false" update="false" /> [...] </class> <class name="xxx.entities.Corpus" table="Corpus" lazy="false" batch-size="30"> <id name="id" column="idCorpus" type="java.lang.Integer" unsaved-value="null"> <generator class="identity"/> </id> <property name="name" column="name" type="java.lang.String" not-null="true" unique="true" /> </class> And the Java code generating the exception is : Corpus corpus = Spring.getCorpusDAO().getCorpusById(corpusId); Semspace semspace = new Semspace(); semspace.setCorpus(corpus); semspace.setName(name); Spring.getSemspaceDAO().save(semspace); I checked and the corpus variable is not null (so it is in database as retrieved with the DAO) The full exception is : com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException: Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (`xxx/Semspace`, CONSTRAINT `FK4D6019AB6556109` FOREIGN KEY (`idCorpus`) REFERENCES `Corpus` (`idCorpus`)) at com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createSQLException(SQLError.java:931) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.checkErrorPacket(MysqlIO.java:2941) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.sendCommand(MysqlIO.java:1623) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.sqlQueryDirect(MysqlIO.java:1715) at com.mysql.jdbc.Connection.execSQL(Connection.java:3249) at com.mysql.jdbc.PreparedStatement.executeInternal(PreparedStatement.java:1268) at com.mysql.jdbc.PreparedStatement.executeUpdate(PreparedStatement.java:1541) at com.mysql.jdbc.PreparedStatement.executeUpdate(PreparedStatement.java:1455) at com.mysql.jdbc.PreparedStatement.executeUpdate(PreparedStatement.java:1440) at org.apache.commons.dbcp.DelegatingPreparedStatement.executeUpdate(DelegatingPreparedStatement.java:102) at org.hibernate.id.IdentityGenerator$GetGeneratedKeysDelegate.executeAndExtract(IdentityGenerator.java:73) at org.hibernate.id.insert.AbstractReturningDelegate.performInsert(AbstractReturningDelegate.java:33) at org.hibernate.persister.entity.AbstractEntityPersister.insert(AbstractEntityPersister.java:2158) at org.hibernate.persister.entity.AbstractEntityPersister.insert(AbstractEntityPersister.java:2638) at org.hibernate.action.EntityIdentityInsertAction.execute(EntityIdentityInsertAction.java:48) at org.hibernate.engine.ActionQueue.execute(ActionQueue.java:250) at org.hibernate.event.def.AbstractSaveEventListener.performSaveOrReplicate(AbstractSaveEventListener.java:298) at org.hibernate.event.def.AbstractSaveEventListener.performSave(AbstractSaveEventListener.java:181) at org.hibernate.event.def.AbstractSaveEventListener.saveWithGeneratedId(AbstractSaveEventListener.java:107) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.saveWithGeneratedOrRequestedId(DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.java:187) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultSaveEventListener.saveWithGeneratedOrRequestedId(DefaultSaveEventListener.java:33) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.entityIsTransient(DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.java:172) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultSaveEventListener.performSaveOrUpdate(DefaultSaveEventListener.java:27) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.onSaveOrUpdate(DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.java:70) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.fireSave(SessionImpl.java:535) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.save(SessionImpl.java:523) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.save(SessionImpl.java:519) at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTemplate$12.doInHibernate(HibernateTemplate.java:642) at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTemplate.execute(HibernateTemplate.java:373) at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTemplate.save(HibernateTemplate.java:639) at xxx.dao.impl.AbstractDAO.save(AbstractDAO.java:26) at org.apache.jsp.functions.semspaceManagement_jsp._jspService(semspaceManagement_jsp.java:218) [...] The foreign key constraint has been created (and added to database) by hibernate and I don't see where the constraint can be violated. The table are innodb and I tried to drop all tables and recreate it the problem remains... EDIT : Well I think I have a start of answer... I change the log level of hibernate to DEBUG and before it crash I have the following log insert into Semspace (name, [...]) values (?, [...]) So it looks like it does not try to insert the idCorpus and as it is not null it uses the default value "0" which does not refers to an existing entry in Corpus table...

  • Hibernate annotated many-to-one not adding child to parent Collection

    - by Rob Hruska
I have the following annotated Hibernate entity classes: @Entity public class Cat { @Column(name = "ID") @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Id private Long id; @OneToMany(mappedBy = "cat", cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch = FetchType.EAGER) private Set<Kitten> kittens = new HashSet<Kitten>(); public void setId(Long id) { this.id = id; } public Long getId() { return id; } public void setKittens(Set<Kitten> kittens) { this.kittens = kittens; } public Set<Kitten> getKittens() { return kittens; } } @Entity public class Kitten { @Column(name = "ID") @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Id private Long id; @ManyToOne(cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch = FetchType.EAGER) private Cat cat; public void setId(Long id) { this.id = id; } public Long getId() { return id; } public void setCat(Cat cat) { this.cat = cat; } public Cat getCat() { return cat; } } My intention here is a bidirectional one-to-many/many-to-one relationship between Cat and Kitten, with Kitten being the "owning side". What I want to happen is when I create a new Cat, followed by a new Kitten referencing the Cat, the Set of kittens on my Cat should contain the new Kitten. However, this does not happen in the following test: @Test public void testAssociations() { Session session = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession(); Transaction tx = session.beginTransaction(); Cat cat = new Cat(); session.save(cat); Kitten kitten = new Kitten(); kitten.setCat(cat); session.save(kitten); tx.commit(); assertNotNull(kitten.getCat()); assertEquals(cat.getId(), kitten.getCat().getId()); assertTrue(cat.getKittens().size() == 1); // <-- ASSERTION FAILS assertEquals(kitten, new ArrayList<Kitten>(cat.getKittens()).get(0)); } Even after re-querying the Cat, the Set is still empty: // added before tx.commit() and assertions cat = (Cat)session.get(Cat.class, cat.getId()); Am I expecting too much from Hibernate here? Or is the burden on me to manage the Collection myself? The (Annotations) documentation doesn't make any indication that I need to create convenience addTo*/removeFrom* methods on my parent object. Can someone please enlighten me on what my expectations should be from Hibernate with this relationship? Or if nothing else, point me to the correct Hibernate documentation that tells me what I should be expecting to happen here. What do I need to do to make the parent Collection automatically contain the child Entity?

  • Hibernate - PropertyNotFoundException: Could not find a getter for ...

I have a class that looks like the following: public class MyClass { private String dPart1; public String getDPart1() { return dPart1; } public void setDPart1(String dPart1) { this.dPart1 = dPart1; } } My hibernate mapping file maps the property as follows: <property name="dPart1" not-null="true"/> I get the following error: org.hibernate.PropertyNotFoundException: Could not find a getter for dPart1 in class com.mypackage.MyClass at org.hibernate.property.BasicPropertyAccessor.createGetter(BasicPropertyAccessor.java:282) at org.hibernate.property.BasicPropertyAccessor.getGetter(BasicPropertyAccessor.java:275) at org.hibernate.mapping.Property.getGetter(Property.java:272) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.PojoEntityTuplizer.buildPropertyGetter(PojoEntityTuplizer.java:247) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.AbstractEntityTuplizer.<init>(AbstractEntityTuplizer.java:125) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.PojoEntityTuplizer.<init>(PojoEntityTuplizer.java:55) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.EntityEntityModeToTuplizerMapping.<init>(EntityEntityModeToTuplizerMapping.java:56) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.EntityMetamodel.<init>(EntityMetamodel.java:302) at org.hibernate.persister.entity.AbstractEntityPersister.<init>(AbstractEntityPersister.java:434) at It appears that hibernate doesn't like my capitalization. How should I fix this?

  • Turning off hibernate logging console output

I'm using hibernate 3 and want to stop it from dumping all the startup messages to the console. I tried commenting out the stdout lines in log4j.properties but no luck. I've pasted my log file below. Also I'm using eclipse with the standard project structure and have a copy of log4j.properties in both the root of the project folder and the bin folder. ### direct log messages to stdout ### #log4j.appender.stdout=org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender #log4j.appender.stdout.Target=System.out #log4j.appender.stdout.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout #log4j.appender.stdout.layout.ConversionPattern=%d{ABSOLUTE} %5p %c{1}:%L - %m%n ### direct messages to file hibernate.log ### log4j.appender.file=org.apache.log4j.FileAppender log4j.appender.file.File=hibernate.log log4j.appender.file.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout log4j.appender.file.layout.ConversionPattern=%d{ABSOLUTE} %5p %c{1}:%L - %m%n ### set log levels - for more verbose logging change 'info' to 'debug' ### log4j.rootLogger=warn, stdout #log4j.logger.org.hibernate=info log4j.logger.org.hibernate=debug ### log HQL query parser activity #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.hql.ast.AST=debug ### log just the SQL #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.SQL=debug ### log JDBC bind parameters ### log4j.logger.org.hibernate.type=info #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.type=debug ### log schema export/update ### log4j.logger.org.hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl=debug ### log HQL parse trees #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.hql=debug ### log cache activity ### #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.cache=debug ### log transaction activity #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.transaction=debug ### log JDBC resource acquisition #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.jdbc=debug ### enable the following line if you want to track down connection ### ### leakages when using DriverManagerConnectionProvider ### #log4j.logger.org.hibernate.connection.DriverManagerConnectionProvider=trac5

  • ASP.Net Session data lost between pages

    - by Ananth
Hi, i came across a weird behavior today w/ my web application. When I navigate from a page to another, I lose one particular session variable data. I'm able to launch the app in firefox and able to see that the session data is not lost. I use Response.Redirect(page2, false) to redirect to another page. Below code was used to track session variables System.IO.StreamWriter sw = new System.IO.StreamWriter(@"c:\test.txt", true); for (int i = 0; i < Session.Count; i++) { sw.WriteLine(Session.Keys[i] + " " + Session.Contents[i]); } sw.Close(); Can anyone help me in this? Any help is appreciated. ~/Ananth
