  • Microsoft launches two new Data Centres for Azure in US to meet growing demand

    In order to meet the growing demand for Windows Azure in US, Microsoft has launched two new data centres in US – East US and West US. With the addition of these two data centres the number of Azure data centres across the globe has grown to 8 and 4 among them are located in US. The two new data centres are providing Computer and Storage resources and few enthusiastic customers already deployed their applications. The other services like SQL Azure and AppFabric will be offered by these data centres in the coming months. The addition of new data centres is a good sign to Microsoft as the customer demand for their Cloud offering is growing.   • Managing multiple reverse proxies for one virtual host in apache2

    I have many reverse proxies defined for my js-host VirtualHost, like so: /etc/apache2/sites-available/js-host <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName js-host.example.com [...] ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass /serviceA http://192.168.100.50/ ProxyPassReverse /serviceA http://192.168.100.50/ ProxyPass /serviceB http://192.168.100.51/ ProxyPassReverse /serviceB http://192.168.100.51/ [...] ProxyPass /serviceZ http://192.168.100.75/ ProxyPassReverse /serviceZ http://192.168.100.75/ </VirtualHost> The js-host site is acting as shared config for all of the reverse proxies. This works, but managing the proxies involves edits to the shared config, and an apache2 restart. Is there a way to manage individual proxies with a2ensite and a2dissite (or a better alternative)? My main objective is to isolate each proxy config as a separate file, and manage it via commands. First Attempt I tried making separate files with their own VirtualHost entries for each service: /etc/apache2/sites-available/js-host-serviceA <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName js-host.example.com [...] ProxyPass /serviceA http://192.168.100.50/ ProxyPassReverse /serviceA http://192.168.100.50/ </VirtualHost> /etc/apache2/sites-available/js-host-serviceB <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName js-host.example.com [...] ProxyPass /serviceB http://192.168.100.51/ ProxyPassReverse /serviceB http://192.168.100.51/ </VirtualHost> The problem with this is apache2 loads the first VirtualHost for a particular ServerName, and ignores the rest. They aren't "merged" somehow as I'd hoped.

  • Use a Free Tool to Edit, Delete, or Restore the Default Hosts File in Windows

    The hosts file in Windows contains mappings of IP addresses to host names, like an address book for your computer. Your PC uses IP addresses to find websites, so it needs to translate the host names into IP addresses to access websites. When you enter a host name in a browser to visit a website, that host name is looked up in DNS servers to find the IP address. If you enter IP addresses and host names for websites you visit often, these websites will load faster, because the hosts file is loaded into memory when Windows start and overrides DNS server queries, creating a shortcut to the sites. Because the hosts file is checked first, you can also use it to block websites from tracking your activities on the internet, as well as block ads, banners, third-party cookies, and other intrusive elements on webpages. Your computer has its own host address, known as its “localhost” address. The IP address for localhost is 127.0.0.1. To block sites and website elements, you can enter the host name for the unwanted site in the hosts file and associate it with the localhost address. Blocking ads and other undesirable webpage elements, can also speed up the loading of websites. You don’t have to wait for all those items to load. The default hosts file that comes with Windows does not contain any host name/IP address mappings. You can add mappings manually, such as the IP address 74.125.224.72 for www.google.com. As an example of blocking an ad server website, you can enter the following line in your hosts file to block doubleclick.net from serving you ads.   • Communication between WCF service [library] and Self-host [Winform]

    Introduction: I have a WCF service library and a self-host Winform. Service features is File explorer including (copy, move, delete, new folder, delete... etc) and Task Manager (run, kill, update list). Then now I want to add other features like chatting between self-host and client, send an image from client to self-host so when it received, it is shown in a pictureBox in a new form. Till now I have two endpoints for (Task Manager, File Manager) that runs under one service "MainService". And I set up all the connections using DotNet 4.0 WCF Configuration and Wizards, and I'm using netTcpBinding. Problem: I need to know how to communicate with between WCF service lib and self-host, so I can append a received chat from client on self-host form's textbox TextBoxChat. And also call a client callback from self-host when Send button clicked, to send the message from self-host textbox TextBoxMessage. Let's say this's self-host ChatForm So is it possible to do that in WCF? I would prefer to run ChatEndpoint under MainService, so all Endpoints use one port.

  • WCF (REST) multiple host headers with one endpoint

    I have an issue with a WCF REST service (.NET 4) which has multiple host headers, but one end point. The host headers are for example: xxx.yyy.net xxx.yyy.com Both host headers are configured in IIS over HTTPS and redirect to the same WCF service endpoint. I have an Error Handling behavior which logs some extra information in case of an error. The problem is that the logging behavior only works for one of both URLs. When I first call the .net URL, the logging is only working for requests on the .net URL. When I first call the .com URL (after a Worker Process recycle), it’s only working on requests on the .com URL.   • Linux Fiber Channel Host Setup Basic

    I've been googling for about 4 hours now with no luck. I am trying to setup a Linux server running Oracle Server 6.3 as a Fiber Channel host. And then connect it to a Dell Compellent Fibre Channel Host contain a 500GB Volume. The Oracle server itself contains two Brocade 815 FC HBAs. I've discovered their WWN(I think) via cat /sys/class/fc_host/host1/port_name 0x100000051efc3d85 cat /sys/class/fc_host/host2/port_name 0x100000051efc3d9f The next part is where I am at a loss. I've used iSCSI before...is FC the same deal where you have an initiator and a target? If so where do I specific that in linux? I'm also new to Fiber Channel as a protocol, so i am unsure what is needed to make a transaction? WWN and port ID? Similar to IP:Port combination in the Ethernet world. I've read alot regarding using systool, multipath, fc_transport commands, however none of these is recognized as a valid command from Oracle Server 6.3 Appreciate the guidance and assistance. With more than 3,000 styles of shoes to design, develop and market, Skechers upgraded to Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management and PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management to increase operational efficiencies and improve controls by establishing an integrated, industry-specific platform. An Oracle customer since 1997, Skechers implemented PeopleSoft Enterprise Real Estate Management to meet the rapid growth of its retail stores worldwide. The company is the first customer to go live on the Real Estate Management module and worked closely with Oracle to provide development insight. Skechers also implemented Oracle Fusion Governance, Risk, and Compliance applications. This deployment enabled the company to leverage its existing corporate governance and compliance efforts throughout the global enterprise and more effectively manage the audit processes across multiple business units, processes and systems while reducing audit costs. Next, Skechers leveraged Oracle Financial Analytics, a pre-built Oracle Business Intelligence Application and PeopleSoft Enterprise Project Costing and PeopleSoft Enterprise Contracts to develop a custom Royalty Management dashboard, providing managers with better financial visibility to the company’s licensing contracts. The company switched to Oracle Database and moved database hosting and management to Oracle On Demand to reduce maintenance, implementation and system administration costs. As a result, Skechers is also achieving a better response time and is delivering a higher level of 24x7 support. Below are the steps... 1)Go to Start ----> Run  2)Type services.msc  3)In services.msc search for "Windows Firewall" and Right Click on "Windows Firewall"---->Select Stop. 4)Access the Weblogic URL  If the issue is resolved after disabling firewall, Request your  OS System Admin to open the port 7001 at the firewall end to access the application
