    I have a lot of Singleton implementation in asp.net application and want to move my application to IIS Web Garden environment for some performance reasons. CMIIW, moving to IIS Web Garden with n worker process, there will be one singleton object created in each worker process, which make it not a single object anymore because n 1. can I make all those singleton objects, singleton again in IIS Web Garden?

  • Accessing Unicode telugu text from Ms-Access Database in Java

    I have an MS-Access database ( A English-telugu Dictionary database) which contains a table storing English words and telugu meanings. I am writing a dictionary program in Java which queries the database for a keyword entered by the user and display the telugu meaning. My Program is working fine till I get the data from the database, but when I displayed it on some component like JTextArea/JEditorPane/ etc... the telugu text is being displayed as '????'. Why is it happening?. I have seen the solution for "1467412/reading-unicode-data-from-an-access-database-using-jdbc" which provides some workaround for Hebrew language. But it is not working for telugu. i.e I included setCharset("UTF8")before querying from the database. but still I am getting all '?'s. As soon as I got data from Resultset I am checking the individual characters, all the telugu characters are being encoded by 63 only. This is my observation. I guess this must be some type of encoding problem. I would be very glad if somebody provides some solution for this. Thanks in advance.

    I'm trying to parse some text using PyParser. The problem is that I have names that can contain white spaces. So my input might look like this: Joe Bob Jimmy Foo Joe decides to eat. Bob decides to not eat. Jimmy Foo decides to eat. How can I create a parser for the decides to eat line? If I create my name parser naively, meaning with alphabetic characters plus space characters, then it will match the entire line.

    Goodafternoon All! I have an issue in my application.My iphone application crashes at mid of running or during the application launch at times both in iPhone and simulator. I know that memory management is not proper or is it because os some other reason. My application is using a web service that pulls the data and displays it in the view,the working of web service is proper,because i see the data coming from the service in my app. Can anybody suggest how to manage memory properly (i.e,) where i have to release the objects,what are the objects that has to be released and the objects that should not be released.     Hi All, I am using Razor view engine in ASP.Net MVC 3 RC 2 this is part of my view city.cshtml (drastically simplified for the sake of simple example) <!-- in city.cshtml --> <div class="list"> @foreach(var product in SQL.GetProducts(Model.City) ) { <div class="product"> <div>@product.Name</div> <div class="category"> @foreach(var category in SQL.GetCategories(product.ID) ) { <a href="@category.Url">@category.Name</a> » } </div> </div> } </div> I want to cache this part of my output using OutputCache attribute. so I created an action ProductList with OutputCache attribute enabled <!-- in city.cshtml --> <div class="list"> @Html.Action("ProductList", new { City = Model.City }) </div> and I created the view in ProductList.cshtml as below <!-- in ProductList.cshtml --> @foreach(var product in Model.Products ) { <div class="product"> <div>@product.Name</div> <div class="category"> @foreach(var category in SQL.GetCategories(product.ID) ) { <a href="@category.Url">@category.Name</a> » } </div> </div> } but I still need to cache the category path output on each product. so I created an action CategoryPath with OutputCache attribute enabled <!-- in ProductList.cshtml --> @foreach(var product in Model.Products ){ <div class="product"> <div>@product.Name</div> <div class="category"> @Html.Action("CategoryPath", new { ProductID = product.ID }) </div> </div> } but apparently this is not allowed. I got this error.. OutputCacheAttribute is not allowed on child actions which are children of an already cached child action. I believe they have a good reason why they need to disallow this. but I really want this kind of nested Output Caching Please, any idea for a workaround?

  • FOP Encoding issue

    Hi Guys, I have a similar issue.. I have HTML stored in DB clob. I am retrieving that and converting to XHTML using TIDY.jar. Once i got XHTML then using FOP i am converting to XSL-FO. Finally XSL-FO is rendering in PDF. Previously everything is working fine with Linux-WAS5-java1.4. Recently we migrated the apps to Linux-WAS6-Java1.5. Now XHTML to XSL-FO is messing up everything. XSL-FO contains ???(Question marks) in the place of Euro, spase(nbsp), Agrave, egrave ..etc. I tried changing the JVM encoding to UTF-8 and also i have modified my servlet request and response to support UTF-8. I am helfless and unable to figure where exactly the issue is coming out. Can someone please check this and suggest me some solution. Thanks in advance

    Hi all, I want to edit the timeout value of 'Time to display recovery options when needed' without using the UI display option. To navigate, Right click on 'Mycomputer' - Properties - Advanced tab - click on SETTINGS of 'Startup and recovery' = 2nd displayed check box. The value thought to be in c:\boot.ini file, but it has value of other timeout 'Time to display other operating systems'. After some searching, i found that 'c:\windows\bootstat.dat' file holds the timeout value for 'Time to display recovery options when needed'... but, i am not able to decode the .dat file or edit that file.. any suggestions would he helpful for me..   • how to specify which child class this object belong to after retrieving from a hashmap?

    hi everyone, i have a parent class called Course, and two child class PostgradCourse and UndergradCourse. i have a hashmap HashMap courses; i store all the postgradCourse and undergradCourse objects in the hashmap. i want to retrieve an undergradCourse object from the hashmap using the key. Course course = courses.get(courseCode); then i want to call a method in the UndergradCourse class, setUnits() method course.setUnits(); but the compiler say cannot find symbol- method setUnit() im pretty sure the problem is the compiler is looking for a method setUnit() in the Course class instead of UndergradCourse class i did this but its not working UndergradCourse course = courses.get(courseCode); results in incompatible type so how can i retrieve undergradCourse object from the hashmap as an undergradCourse object instead of course object? so then i can call a method inside the child class thanks in advance
