• Allow access to printer between interfaces on Cisco ASA5510

  I have a Cisco ASA5510 where we have to separate networks on two separate interfaces. The networks have and should have nothing to do with each other except that network B needs to access a printer on network A. Network A: 192.168.137.0/24 Printer: 192.168.137.20 Network B: 192.168.0.0/24 I've added an incoming rule from Network A to the Printer IP in the ASDM interface but clients can't print. Our previous router was configured to let traffic through so the clients on Network B is already configured so it think it should work if the traffic is allowed. How do I let clients on Network B communicate with the printer?

• LDAP (slapd) ACL issue - can add but not modify entries

  I have an issue with the ACL configuration of an LDAP server (slapd). The following ACL entry is active as the first rule that applies: {0}to dn.subtree="ou=some,ou=where,ou=beneath,dc=the,dc=rain,dc=bow" attrs=entry,children by users write Now the strange thing that happens is that given that rule I can add an entry to the respective DN but if I want to modify it with the very same user, then I get 0x32 (LDAP_INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS) Can someone give me a hint what the problem could be?

• How do I add client computers to a Windows SBS 2008 domain?

  We have a LAN and the router is the DHCP server. We have a server with Windows SBS 2008, it has the IP address 192.168.1.2 while the router has the IP address 192.168.1.1. I have set "DNS Relay" on the router to 192.168.1.2. I have tried to add a client computer to the SBS domain by visiting http://connect from the client computer. But that page doesn't exist. I can visit http://192.168.1.2/ then the default startpage for IIS7 is shown. I'm logged in as a local Administrator on the computer that I tries to add to the domain. How do I add the client computer to the SBS 2008 domain? The router is an D-Link DFL 200, and I have now set the "DNS Relay" to "Use address of LAN interface" instead of a specific IP-address. But it doesn't work.

• Can I reactivate the cursor keys for modifying a cell reference in a formula?

  When I enter an Excel formula by hand avoiding the mouse, I can conveniently reference cells by using the arrow keys (-,<- etc.). For example, I can enter the formula =A2&B2 in cell C2 by entering =<-&<-<- The result looks like this: If I want to change from B2 to B3, I can just press the downward arrow on the keyboard at this time. How do I do the same thing later, after having left this cell (e.g. by pressing Enter)? In other words, how do I get the flashing dashed line back when re-entering a cell with F2?

• Starting old computer - nothing shown on screen at boot

  I'm trying to start an about 10 years old PC computer. But nothing is shown on the screen, and it beeps everytime I press a key on the keyboard. I can press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot the computer. The monitor is newer and seem to work with other computers. I don't see anything from POST/BIOS at start or later. I have tried to change to another graphic card, but it didn't change anything. What can I do to solve this problem? Update: I have now tried with another computer (the one where the "another graphic card" came from) and I got the same problem. I doesn't show anything on the screen. Both these computers had a GeForce2 MX 400 graphic card. I tried with another computer screen it didn't work - it was showing "signal out of range". So is the graphic card GeForce2 MX 400 too old for newer TFT-monitors? I tried with a third computer so I know that the monitors are working, and both monitors work fine with that computer.

• private subnet nat (openvpn / racoon)

  I have a openvpn subnet 10.8.0.0/24 running one server and one client (laptop). openvpn works fine. Browsing the web over openvpn from the laptop works also fine. Now on the server there is a private subnet with 10.7.8.128/28. The subnet is set up with racoon (IPSEC s2s vpn). The s2s vpn allows me to access the subnet 10.3.5.0/24 at the other s2s vpn end. Works all fine when I'm connected with ssh to my server. From my laptop i can ping 10.7.8.129 (the servers ipsec local ip) but i cannot reach the net 10.3.5.0/24. I tried to add a static route on my laptop 10.3.5.0/24 over gw 10.7.8.129 with no success. Any ideas how i do setup the nat / routing? Thanks

• Is there a way to automatically display the username on the Desktop background in Win7?

  We have computer used by multiple users running Win7. Unfortunately, people forget to log out, or they just use the session that is currently open, or they think that they're using their own session, but in the meantime, somebody else has logged on without logging out. To make it clear to people that they're using somebody else's session, I'd like to display the username of the person logged on (the one that's visible in the start menu) on the Desktop wallpaper; something like "John Doe's session". Is that possible?

• Windows XP computer reboots at start

  I have trouble with a Windows XP computer. After Windows is started and I can see the desktop background (sometimes I can use the system a few seconds), then the system is rebooted before I can do anything. I have used a Windows XP CD and runned chkdsk /r from the repair console. But it didn't help. I have also tried booting in "safe mode" but it didn't help. The C:\Windows\Minidump directory is empty. What can I do to solve this? UPDATE: I have now placed the harddrive in another computer and I have access to all data. Except from copying all data, is there anything I can make with the system so I can boot from the harddrive again? Is it "safe" to install windows on the same disk and directory - so I can access the data but not run the applications?

  I need to install pure-ftpd from source and need to do apt-get source pure-ftpd but I get this message: E: You must put some 'source' URIs in your sources.list I found some documentation about this for Debian on http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/apt-howto/ch-basico.en.html#s-sources.list but what URIs should I add to sources.list for Ubuntu and if I want the source for pur-ftpd? • Keyboard/Mouse not working when windows vista has reached login screen

  I currently have a problem with a system (vista home premium, 64bit). USB kbd/mouse will not work when windows has booted/loaded their drivers and Im stuck at the login screen with no working input devices. None of the available boot options after F8 will boot to working kbd/mouse. They work in the bios setup and they seem powered all the way until a few seconds before the login screen. Legacy USB devices is also enabled in the bios. They also work with the recovery dvd, but I am unable to start the device manager to check or uninstall the mouse/kbd drivers. Cant get devmgmt.msc nor devmgr.dll (with rundll32) to work. System repair does not detect the problem and there are no available restore points (it was disabled). Any ideas?

  I would like to list the group policies for local users on a machine I'm setting up. However, when I run gpresult /v /u localmachine\user I get the error that I do have to specify a server name, and when I run gpresult /v /s 127.0.0.1 /u localmachine\user I get the message user credentials for local system are ignored, and I get the group policies for the local administrator as a result. How do I get the settings for the users?

• Why my backup to USB Drive is too slow?

  I have tried several backup solutions for my data and none of them was good enough. I basically want to make a copy of my files to an attached USB Drive from time to time. I don't mind starting my backups manually, since the USB Drive is not always connected. My problem is that my data contains a lot of files (a huge amount), so backing up takes forever (more than 20 hours). Using "rsync" an other similar solutions is not working because the I/O needed to check the file for changes takes longer than the time to actually copy it. Any suggestions?

• WPF CommandParameter is NULL first time CanExecute is called

  I have run into an issue with WPF and Commands that are bound to a Button inside the DataTemplate of an ItemsControl. The scenario is quite straight forward. The ItemsControl is bound to a list of objects, and I want to be able to remove each object in the list by clicking a Button. The Button executes a Command, and the Command takes care of the deletion. The CommandParameter is bound to the Object I want to delete. That way I know what the user clicked. A user should only be able to delete their "own" objects - so I need to do some checks in the "CanExecute" call of the Command to verify that the user has the right permissions. The problem is that the parameter passed to CanExecute is NULL the first time it's called - so I can't run the logic to enable/disable the command. However, if I make it allways enabled, and then click the button to execute the command, the CommandParameter is passed in correctly. So that means that the binding against the CommandParameter is working. The XAML for the ItemsControl and the DataTemplate looks like this: <ItemsControl x:Name="commentsList" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=SharedDataItemPM.Comments}" Width="Auto" Height="Auto"> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Button Content="Delete" FontSize="10" Command="{Binding Path=DataContext.DeleteCommentCommand, ElementName=commentsList}" CommandParameter="{Binding}" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> So as you can see I have a list of Comments objects. I want the CommandParameter of the DeleteCommentCommand to be bound to the Command object. So I guess my question is: have anyone experienced this problem before? CanExecute gets called on my Command, but the parameter is always NULL the first time - why is that? Update: I was able to narrow the problem down a little. I added an empty Debug ValueConverter so that I could output a message when the CommandParameter is data bound. Turns out the problem is that the CanExecute method is executed before the CommandParameter is bound to the button. I have tried to set the CommandParameter before the Command (like suggested) - but it still doesn't work. Any tips on how to control it. Update2: Is there any way to detect when the binding is "done", so that I can force re-evaluation of the command? Also - is it a problem that I have multiple Buttons (one for each item in the ItemsControl) that bind to the same instance of a Command-object? My .jrxml-file compiles fine to a .jasper-file. How do I call JasperDesignViewer? I'm not using Ant. • How to create basic Adobe Illustrator files programatically?

  I need to create a really basic Adobe Illustrator file on the clipboard that I can paste in Adobe Illustrator or Expression Design. I'm looking for code samples on how to programaticaly generate Adobe Illustrator Files, preferably from C# or some other .NET language (but at the moment any language goes). I have found the Adobe Illustrator 3 File Format documentation online but it's allot to digest for this simple scenario. I don't want to depend on the actual Adobe Illustrator program (COM interop for instance) to generate my documents. Must be pure code. The code is for an Expression Studio addin, and I need to be able to create something on the clipboard I can paste into Expression Design. After looking at the formats Expression Design puts on the clipboard when copying a basic shape I've concluded that ADOBE AI3 i the best one to use (the others are either rendered images, or cfXaml that you cannot paste INTO Design). So based on this I can't use SWG which would probably been easier. Another idea might be to use a PDF component as the AI and PDF format is supposed to be compatible? I'm also finding some references to a format called "Adobe Illustrator Clipboard Format" (AICB), but can't find allot of documentation about it.

• Can't install ErlyBird on Netbeans 6.8

  I would like to use ErlyBird, so I downloaded the latest Netbeans (6.8), and then downloaded and unzipped ErlyBird. After that I imported the plugins in Netbeans, but during installation I was prompted with: Warning - could not install some modules: Erlang Project - The module named org.netbeans.modules.parsing.api was needed and not found. Erlang Editor - The module named org.netbeans.modules.parsing.api was needed and not found. Another module could not be installed due to the above problems. Is there a workaround to this?

• Emacs - Error when calling (server-start)

  I am currently using GNU Emacs 23.0.93.1 in Windows Vista SP1. In my .emacs file I make a call to (server-start) and that is causing an error with the message The directory ~/.emacs.d/server is unsafe.
