    Using double variable = inputFile.nextDouble(); Gives the mismatch error and I can't figure out why... Anyone know what's up? The input file is just a bunch of doubles like 5.0... Okay here is the code snippet String fileName; Scanner scanner = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("\nEnter file name that contains the matrix and vector: "); fileName = scanner.nextLine(); Scanner inputFile = new Scanner(fileName); double a1 = inputFile.nextDouble(); the input file is a plain text document .txt in this format 5.0 4.0 -3.0 4.0 2.0 5.0 6.0 5.0 -2.0 -13.0 4.0 12.0 I don't understand why it wouldn't take those as doubles... As far as what its expecting the format of the file to be... I suppose binary? isn't that the default? I didn't specify in the code...

  • [cli/linux] get plain text from raw emails (not attachments extraction)

    Hi, having a raw email as input (i.e. the text between "DATA" and "." sent by a smtp client) I need to extract the mail content (which I know is always text only) as plain text. This means decoding transfer encoding (if any: could be base64 or quoted-printable), merging mutiparts (if any), and stripping headers. I tried various tools that would do that: mewdecode, uudecode, uudeview... I only managed to get this last one to work, but it won't output anything if the mail is not MIME encoded and it stores its output in an unpredictable (nor forceable) filename, so it's hard to use it in a not-interactive shell script. Since this is a pretty common job (every mail client have to do that), it's weird it's so complicated. Do you have some hints? (Actually, forcing uudeview to output in a certain file would be good enough). Thank you!

    Using Perl's XML::LibXSLT necessitates that I use XSLT 1.0, which means that I am stuck without XSLT 2.0 features. Is there a way that I can still pad text cleanly in a plain-text output from my processing? What I want is: <values> <headers> <header>Header 1</header> <header>Header 2</header> </headers> <value> <one>First value 1</one> <two>First value 2</two> </value> <value> <one>Second value 1</one> <two>Second value 2</two> </value> .... <value> <one>Nth value 1</one> <two>Nth value 2</two> </value> </values> To become Header 1 Header 2 First value 1 First value 2 Second value 1 Second value 2 ....     For many years I have been building emails that get sent out by my webapps that are Multi-part with a text part & an email part to allow users of plain text only email clients to default to the text version. However I have recently been developing a rather complex email that doesn't translate so well to text, so in 2011 is there really any need to provide a textual alternative. How many people out there are actually still only able to see plain text emails?

  • Converting plain text in SQL to hyperlink in Access

    Hello, I've just started a new job my first since leaving University and as part of this my first task is to convert a wholly Access 2003 database to an Access front-end, SQL back-end. The Access database consists of a series of front end forms to add or review staff data, as part of this there is hyperlinks pointing to a photograph of the employee and there CV located on a shared drive. These were saved as hyperlinks within the Access DB. I have since converted the data in the Access DB to SQL and stored it in a database for me to test on, now as part of the data conversion the photo and CV locations were converted to nvarchar from hyperlink. I've done this using SSMA. My issue now is that I need to have these text links displayed and working as hyperlinks on the front end hidden behind the words "Photo" and "CV", but am unsure as to how to go about this, as in the past I've only ever used SQL and not Access. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated and if I've not been clear in any areas please feel free to ask questions and I'll try to clear anything up for you.

In order to get insert or update we need to use ObjectSet< but it will not support in my case. Ideally it will be kind of proxy class which will support all the futures however highly customizable i.e. only the columns we want to expose to the outer world

  • Plain-English tutorial on artificial neural networks?

    I've Googled, StackOverflowed, everything, and I cannot seem to find a tutorial I can understand. I understand the concept of genetic algorithms, and how to implement them, (Though I haven't tried) but I cannot grasp the concept of neural networks. I know vaguely how they work... And that's about it. Could someone direct me to a tutorial that could help someone who has not even graduated middle school yet? Sure, I'm several years ahead of the majority of people my grade, but I don't understand summation, (which I apparently need if I don't want a simple binary output) vectors, and other things that I apparently should know. Is there a simple, bare-bones tutorial for neural networks? After I learn the basics, I'll proceed to more difficult ones. Preferably, they would be in Java. Thanks!

  • Not sure whether to use haXe of just plain flash

    Hi Guys, A local sports clothing company has hired me to make them a flash based jersey colour picker sort of thing. They are wanting it so users can check out what particular designs would look like with certain colours. Now, I'm by no means a great developer (I'm 16, but I know my way around javascript, flash and a bit of AS2) but I've taken notice of haXe recently and think it might be a good project to write in it and compile to a swf. I'm not sure if I should just use flash, or if I should use haXe. Is anybody able to iterate on the strengths and weaknesses of using haXe or flash please? Thanks in advance! P.S. I do have a copy of flash (supplied by school), so that doesn't concern me.

    I've written a WCF IDispatchMessageInspector, so I can log incomming and outgoing messages. But I'm not sure how to get a nicely-formatted XML string to log.
