• mac cron can't use the shell correctly

  I've set up cron to run a simple hello world shell script, but it's giving me an error that Google isn't helping me resolve. I've got to be missing something really simple! Here's my crontab: [email protected] SHELL=/bin/bash 30 * * * * * $HOME/hello.sh Here's hello.sh: #!/bin/bash echo HELLO WORLD! I get this error email: /bin/bash: 555: command not found I have tried setting shell to /bin/sh but it makes no difference. I still get an analogous error message.

  When I try to publish an InfoPath 2007 form, I get the following message: To use this feature, Microsoft Office 2007 must be set as the default e-mail program. However, Outlook is configured as default e-mail program already. Any ideas? I verified that Microsoft Outlook is the default e-mail program in two ways: I went to Control Panel Internet Settings - ... - Default Programs I tried and entered mailto:myown-e-mail-address in Firefox and it opened Outlook.

I want to block certain bots via robots.txt and I am confused as to which part of the User-Agent string to use, especially for more obscure bots.   I'm sure most webmasters have recived a mail like this: Creating [insert item here] is not working! When you check it out there is no general problem with the function but rather the user has discovered an edge case. Almost every mail I get is like this and in the long run it gets a bit annoying to always have to ask the user for more information. Is there anything I can do to get my users provide more useful feedback? Right now I have a mailto: for the webmaster mail in the page footer. I was thinking of changing this so that they have to report through a form on the site. Anyone got any experience with this? Do you get better/more reports by having a feedback form instead of giving the users the email?

  I have several frequent Cron jobs that are run via Rake and the output of those jobs are e-mailed (via a MAILTO). Due to the fact that these tasks load the Rails environment (which includes Erubis) they always prints out "** Erubis 2.6.5" on startup. This means that an e-mail is always generated since Cron receives output. Is there any way to configure Erubis to cease printing this startup message to the console?

• How can I have a web link perform an action in a specific desktop application?

  The specific situation is I have a .zip file that I want to open with a certain application. However, I don't want all ZIP files associated with that application. I think the answer is that instead of saying, "download this zip file, and open it with application X" I could have the browser basically go well my desktop application to go fetch it on its own (the same way directives like itunes: mailto: or aim: do things like launch the itunes store, add buddies, etc).
