  I have been using Outlook for Mac 2011 for last 2 years. Now I want to list out all the people in my email correspondences (sent and inbox) and send them one email. Where can I find the database of everyone's email address in my Mac? The mail will have to have email addresses one after another like this: [email protected], [email protected] all in the format which is accepted in outlook and which can be emailed immediately. I need to basically tag all my email address to send them one email.

• new SBS 2011 Standard problems

  Brand new SBS 2011 install. I went to remove the DHCP server role. It went into a "Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turn off your computer." Been there for hours. Finally, decided to power off and restart. After boot up, the same window and message appear and it just sits there spinning. "Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turn off your computer." I'd love to get this installed before the end of the day but it doesn't look like that's possible. Any ideas on how to get passed this?

• SBS 2011 on different subnet than domain computers

  The setup is as follows: SBS 2011 in datacentre on subnet A Domain PCs at another location on subnet B There is a site-to-site VPN. The domain PCs have joined the domain and have the SBS as their primary DNS server. The domain PCs can ping the DC but the problem is that the DC cannot ping any of the remote subnet (subnet B) SBS --Switch -- Router A ------------------- Router B -- Switch -- Domain PCs What is strange is that router A can ping any host on the subnet B. Another host on Subnet A can also ping any host on subnet B. It's only the DC which cannot ping anything to that specific remote subnet B. I did a tracert from the SBS to router B. The packet reaches Router A from the SBS but then it fails. Am I missing some specific settings that needs to be done when SBS is on a different subnet than its member pcs ?

• Unable to add CRM 2011's Organization service as Service Reference to VS project

  I have problem accessing Organization Service when I try to add it as a Service Reference in Visual Studio. However, I can Access the Service in browser. I have tried to add OrganizationData service and there is no issue with that. An Error occurred while attempting to find service at 'http://xxxxxxxx/xxxxx/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc'. Error Details There was an error downloading 'http://xxxxxxxx/xxxxx/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/$metadata'. The request failed with HTTP status 400: Bad Request. Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://xxxxxxxx/xxxxx/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc'. • Embedded Spotlight does not function in Outlook 2011

  I have a rather strange problem. I manage a network of about 35 Mac, and we all recently switched from Mail.app to Outlook 2011 (Please don't debate this, I've already had this conversation ad nauseum) We are using network home directories (NHD) server from a Windows file server over the SMB protocol. The problem I'm having is Spotlight does not function inside of Outlook. But ONLY inside of Outlook. The global Spotlight can find all email and contacts with Outlook, but the embedded Spotlight cannot. As a test, I took one of my users and switched them from a network home directory to a portable home directory (PHD) (this means the home folder was copied to the local hard drive). This resulted in a working Spotlight within Outlook, as soon as I switched the user back to an NHD, however, it stopped working. I have already tried erasing the Spotlight index and killing the process to force re-indexing. I have exhausted all Spotlight troubleshooting, and since the global is working that is obviously not the issue. I believe it has something to do with the Spotlight plugin Microsoft wrote that is located in /Library/Spotlight. Any ideas?

• Active Directory Corrupted In Windows Small Business Server 2011 - Server No Longer Domain Controller

  I have a rather bad problem with my Windows SBS 2011. First of all, I'll give the background to what caused the problem. I was setting up a new small business server network. I had my job about finished. The server was working great, all the workstations had joined the domain, and I had all my applications and data moved to the server. I thought I was done. But then it happened. I tried adding one more computer to the domain, and to my dismay the computer name was set to the same name as the server. Apparently when a computer joins a domain with the same name as another machine that is already on the domain, it overrides the first one. For normal workstations, this is not a big deal, you just delete the computer from AD and rejoin the original computer to the domain. However, for a server that is the domain controller it is a whole different story. Since the server got overridden in AD, it is no longer the domain controller. The DNS service is not working and all kinds of other services are failing also. So the question is, what are my options? I am embarrassed to admit it, but since this is a new server one thing I did not have setup yet was backup. So I have no backups to work from. I am worried that things are broken enough that I might need to do a reinstall. However, I already have several days worth of configuration into this server, so I would obviously prefer if there was a fix that would prevent me from needing to do a reinstall. All the server components are there and installed correctly, but they are misconfigured (I think it is basically just Active Directory). So I have the feeling that if I did the right thing I could solve the issue without a reinstall. Is there anyway to rerun the component that installs the initial configuration to "convert" the base windows server 2008 r2 install into a SBS? In other words in the program files folder there is an application called SBSsetup.exe, is there anyway to rerun this and have it reconfigure AD, etc. to work with SBS? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  Is there anyway to have emails automatically placed into folders where the original email resides? Situation: I sort my emails into various folders based on clients. However, when a new email comes in that was a reply to a previous it goes to my inbox versus going into the client folder. I know the typical answer is "just create a rule for that client". The problem with that is my clients change often, and creating a new rule that often is infeasible. I was hoping there might be some way to have a "follow source email" option. That way, when I move email A into folder X, all subsequent replies to email A will automatically be placed in folder X. Any ideas?

• Multiple Selections from Dropdown in Word 2011 Form

  Anyone know if there is a way to setup a Word form to allow the user to select multiple items from a dropdown list that are then displayed? For example, I need to setup a form to identify applicability of specific procedures to various levels of our organization. Since the listing of all departments under all divisions can be pretty lengthy, I was hoping for the ability to check off a division and then have a dropdown list on the same line to select the applicable departments (so the selections are specific to that division and not all listed on the form if that division is not applicable). First, I'm not seeing how to create a dropdown that would allow multiple selections. Beyond that, I don't know if that form element alone would then display all selected items or if that would require another element of some type. Anyone have any suggestions on this? Then, she asked: - Libre office is the default, right? - Right. - So, if someone gives me a document, by default it will open on Libre Office. Can you make it open on Microsoft Office by default instead? So, even if I get it working via Wine, can I do what she requested or is it an impossible task?

  When you click help, you don’t want to wait for your computer to bring it to you.  Here’s how you can speed up the help dialog in Windows and Office. If you have a slow internet connection, chances are you’ve been frustrated by the Help dialog in Windows and Office trying to download fresh content every time you open them. This can be great if the updated help files contain better content, but sometimes you just want to find what you were looking for without waiting.  Here’s how you can turn off the automatic online help. Use Local Help in Windows Windows 7 and Vista’s help dialog usually tries to load the latest content from the net, but this can take a long time on slow connections. If you’re seeing the above screen a lot, you may want to switch to offline help.  Click the “Online Help” button at the bottom, and select “Get offline Help”. Now your computer will just load the pre-installed help files.  And don’t worry; if there’s a major update to your help files, Windows will download and install it through Windows Update.   Stupid Geek Tip: An easy way to open Windows Help is to click on your desktop or Start Menu and press F1 on your keyboard. Use Local Help in Office This same trick works in Office 2007 and 2010.  We’ve actually had more problems with Office’s help being tardy. Solve this the same way as with Windows help.  Click on the “Connected to Office.com” or “Connected to Office Online” button, depending on your version of Office, and select “Show content only from this computer”. This will automatically change the settings for Help in all of your Office applications.   One of the main new features being touted in Office 2010 is the ability to upload documents to the Web for sharing and collaboration. Today we look at using Office Upload Center to help manage your uploaded documents. Microsoft Office Upload Center  When you upload an Office 2010 document to the web, a handy tool to manage them is the Office Upload Center. It’s a way to see what is being uploaded or what might have failed to reach the servers. It lets you know if a document failed to upload for some reason. In this case it looks like the incorrect credentials were entered when signing into Windows Live. Click on the Resolve button to get a list of actions you can take to get things corrected.   You can access the Upload Center from the icon which appears on the System Tray when uploading documents. Right-click the icon to control notifications, pause uploads, and access its settings. In the Settings section you can choose how Upload Center displays notifications, select the number of days to keep files in Cache, and delete currently cached files. If you find yourself uploading several documents to the web during the day, the Office Upload Center is a nice feature for managing them.   Earlier, I have written about SQL SERVER – Server Side Paging in SQL Server 2011 – A Better Alternative. I got many emails asking for performance analysis of paging. Here is the quick analysis of it. The real challenge of paging is all the unnecessary IO reads from the database. Network traffic was one of the reasons why paging has become a very expensive operation. I have seen many legacy applications where a complete resultset is brought back to the application and paging has been done. As what you have read earlier, SQL Server 2011 offers a better alternative to an age-old solution. This article has been divided into two parts: Test 1: Performance Comparison of the Two Different Pages on SQL Server 2011 Method In this test, we will analyze the performance of the two different pages where one is at the beginning of the table and the other one is at its end. Test 2: Performance Comparison of the Two Different Pages Using CTE (Earlier Solution from SQL Server 2005/2008) and the New Method of SQL Server 2011 We will explore this in the next article. This article will tackle test 1 first. Test 1: Retrieving Page from two different locations of the table. Run the following T-SQL Script and compare the performance. This is very interesting as when the the OFFSET changes, PAGE IO is increased or decreased. In the normal case of the search engine, people usually read it from the first few pages, which means that IO will be increased as we go further in the higher parts of navigation. I am really impressed because using the new method of SQL Server 2011,  PAGE IO will be much lower when the first few pages are searched in the navigation. Test 2: Retrieving Page from two different locations of the table and comparing to earlier versions. In this test, we will compare the queries of the Test 1 with the earlier solution via Common Table Expression (CTE) which we utilized in SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008. If you carefully look at both the comparisons, the PAGE IO is much lesser in the case of the new technique introduced in SQL Server 2011 when we read the page from the beginning of the table and when we read it from the end. I consider this as a big improvement as paging is one of the most used features for the most part of the application. The solution introduced in SQL Server 2011 is very elegant because it also improves the performance of the query and, at large, the database.   Im using Mac excel 2011 and I can't seem to get Macro to work. What I am trying to do is that in Worksheet (1st) I am trying to get all of the data entered in the Cases Table at the bottom to all be automatically inserted into the table in the "Cases" worksheet when I click on the "Update" button. But instead I keep getting a pop up saying runtime error and then it asks if I want to End, debug or something else. I just don't know if it is because I am not using Mac Excel correctly as I am used to using windows because I believe my code is correct in the VBA editor to get the button working. Anone who is able to use Mac excel 11 can they check to see if they can use the file provided to see i the button works? If anyone has windows excel then please feel free to check to see if it works on there as well. If it is a coding problem then can you please let me know. • Schedule Auto Send & Receive in Microsoft Outlook

  If you use Outlook as your email client, you might want to schedule how often it checks for new messages. Today we show you how to schedule how often auto send/receive occurs. If you’re busy during the day and need to keep up with your emails, you might want want Outlook to check for new messages every few minutes. Here we’ll show how to schedule it in Office 2010, 2007, and 2003 for a busy inbox where you want to keep on top of your important emails. Outlook 2010 To schedule Auto Send/Receive in Outlook 2010, click on the File tab then Options. The Outlook Options window opens…click on Advanced and scroll down to Send and receive and click on the Send/Receive button. In the Send/Receive Groups window under Setting for group “All Accounts” check the box Schedule an automatic send/receive every…minutes. It is set to 30 minutes by default and you can change the minutes to whatever you want it to be. If you’re busy and want to keep up with your messages you can go as low as every one minute. You can also get to the Send/Receive groups by selecting Send/Receive tab on the Ribbon and then Define Send/Receive Groups. Outlook 2007 To select the send/receive time intervals in Outlook 2007, open Outlook and click on Tools \ Options. Click on the Mail Setup tab, check the box next to Send immediately when connected then the Send/Receive button.   Now change the schedule to automatically send/receive. You can also access the Send/Receive Groups section by going to Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings and Define Send/Receive Groups. Outlook 2003 In Outlook 2003 click on Tool \ Options… Click on the Mail Setup tab then check Send immediately when connected, then the Send/receive button. Then set the amount of time between send/receive attempts. If you live out of Microsoft Outlook and want to keep up with messages, setting the automatic send/receive minutes will keep you up to date.
