    hi, I am working on screen scraping, its easy when filteration in query string, but the problem in AJAX based filteration, e.g. here is an sample URL When you open this page, enter hotel name and click Go, Ajax filter work and show the result accordingly or you click on Next Page, it will shown next record using AJAX based. please suggest me, how to handle these kind of issues when working in Screen Scraping?   • page posting issue when working in Screen Scraping

    Hi, I am working on screen scraping and done successfully in 3 websites, I have an issue in last website here is my url, When I hit with my parameter, it is showing result on next page, simply posting to other page and showing the result fine on other page Here is My Test However, when I hit from my application, since here I don't have an option to post, it only fetch html of requested page that is obviously my above mention HTML test link, that actually have parameter in URL to get the result. How can I handle this situtation? Please give me hint.   • Version control of software refactoring

    What is the best way of doing version control of large scale refactoring? My typical style of programming (actually of writing documents as well) is getting something out as quickly as possible and then refactoring it. Typically, refactoring takes place at the same time as adding other functionality. In addition to standard refactoring of classes and functions, functions may move from one file to another, files get split and merged or just reordered. For the time being, I am using version control as a lone user, so there is no issue of interaction with other developers at this stage. Still, version control gives me two aspects: Backup and ability to revert to a good version "in case". Looking at the history tells me how the project progressed and the flow of ideas. I am using mercurial on windows using TortoiseHg which enables selections of hunks to commit. The reason I mention this is that I would like advice on the granularity of a commit in refactoring. Should I split refactoring from functionality added always in committing? I have looked at the answers of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/68459/refactoring-and-source-control-how-to but it doesn't answer my question. That question focuses on collaboration with a team. This one concentrates on having a history that is understandable in future (assuming I don't rewrite history as some VCS seem to allow).

  • Client-Server Networking Between PHP Client and Java Server

    Hi there, I have a university project which is already 99% completed. It consists of two parts-website (PHP) and desktop (Java). People have their accounts on the website and they wish to query different information regarding their accounts. They send an SMS which is received by desktop application which queries database of website (MySQL) and sends the reply accordingly. This part is working superbly. The problem is that some times website wishes to instruct the desktop application to send a specific SMS to a particular number. Apparently there seems no way other than putting all the load to the DB server... This is how I made it work. Website puts SMS jobs in a specific table. Java application polls this table again and again and if it finds a job, it executes it. Even this part is working correctly but unfortunately it is not acceptable by my university to poll the DB like this. :( The other approach I could think of is to use client-server one. I tried making Java server and its PHP client. So that whenever an SMS is to be sent, the website opens a socket connection to desktop application and sends two strings (cell # and SMS message). Unfortunately I am unable to do this. I was successfully to make a Java server which works fine when connected by a Java client, similarly my PHP client connects correctly to a PHP server, but when I try to cross them, they start hating each other... PHP shows no error but Java gives StreamCorruptedException when it tries to read header of input stream. Could someone please tell what I can try to make PHP client and Java server work together? Or if the said purpose can be achieved by another means, how? Regards, Yasir

    Hi, Till now I've been testing my web (usually written in PHP) as well as desktop applications (normally Java or C#) manually. Now I read somewhere on the net about automated tests. I tried searching to know about it in details but almost all searches end up at things like PHPUnit. Could someone please put some light on the theory behind automated tests? How a software can be tested automatically? Any limitations etc? Or may be you can tell me a place where I can read about this. Regards

    i working on a c++ string library that have main 4 classes that deals with ASCII, UTF8, UTF16, UTF32 strings, every class has Print function that format an input string and print the result to stdout or stderr. my problem is i don't know what is the default character encoding for those streams. for now my classes work in windows, later i'll add support for mac and linux so if you know anything about those stream encoding i'll appreciate it. thank you.

    I have implement Form Authentication <location path="Admin"> <system.web> <authorization> <deny users="?"/> <allow roles="Admin" /> <deny roles="systemAdmin"/> </authorization> </system.web> </location> Since in above mentioned rights, Admin can have access to Admin folder and systemAdmin can't have. I have make custom Accessdenied page where I am showing message to user he has not permission to access this page Now the issue is, If systemAdmin try to hit Admin folder page, he will be redirected to AccessDenied.apsx page. (please Note: both user are authenticated, 1 user have permission to some folder and other user have permission to other folder. I don't want to put check in each page) where to specify accessdenied page redirection ? Thanks

    How can I create View on Linked Server db. For Example I have a linked server [0.0.0.0] on [1.1.1.1]. Both db servers are SQL Sserver 2005. I want to create View on [1.1.1.1] using table on linked server. EDIT: On creating using full name, [0.0.0.0].db.dbo.table, I am getting this error. SQL Execution Error. Executed SQL statement: SELECT * FROM 0.0.0.0.db.dbo.table (YOu can see brackets are not there.) Error Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider Error Message: Incorrect syntax near '0.0'. --- part of IP address. I am just creating this in ManagementStudio, not using it because it is not created yet. I Have changed IP. In image you can see there are not brackets around IP but I given it and on error these brackets are removed. Thanks.

    I have a window having multiple tabs. Each tab having different grids. I want to save all changes on any tab on any grid in bulk. I mean I have one save button which will save all changes in any grid on any tab. I think DataTables will work fine here. Can you suggest me that it is good to use DataTables to ADD/Edit data and save data in bulk using these DataTables OR is there any better way to achieve this. My DAL is generated from LLBLGen Pro (ORM) but you are open to suggest me a solution. Thanks.   • Automatically generating Regex from set of strings residing in DB C#

    Hello Everyone i have about 100,000 strings in database and i want to if there is a way to automatically generate regex pattern from these strings. all of them are alphabetic strings and use set of alphabets from English letters. (X,W,V) is not used for example. is there any function or library that can help me achieve this target in C#. Example Strings are KHTK RAZ given these two strings my target is to generate a regex that allows patterns like (k, kh, kht,khtk, r, ra, raz ) case insensitive of course. i have downloaded and used some C# applications that help in generating regex but that is not useful in my scenario because i want a process in which i sequentially read strings from db and add rules to regex so this regex could be reused later in the application or saved on the disk. i m new to regex patterns and don't know if the thing i m asking is even possible or not. if it is not possible please suggest me some alternate approach.
