  I'm thinking of buying a wildcard SSL cert from clickSSL : http://www.clickssl.com/rapidssl/rapidsslwildcard.aspx That would be a rapidssl certificate, and I was looking into my firefox options to see if RapidSSL is in the list of recognized Authorities. My certificate manager doesn't mention RapidSSL anywhere. Am I looking for the wrong name, e.g. is rapidssl recognized by browsers under a different name? I want to be sure that this certificate is working in all major browsers (including IE6)

• Enabling Multiple Monitor Support from Terminal Services/Remote Desktop over Citrix

  Our Remote Desktop/Terminal Services solution where I work relies on Citrix for machines not connected via the VPN. We're using Citrix Xen server (I'm pretty sure) and I'm going to try to connect to a Windows 7 Host (my work computer) and I think the RDC client runs on a Win2003 host (exposed via Citrix). Is it possible to take advantage of Windows 7 multiple monitor support for RDC with this setup? Would I need to try getting my Citrix guys to have a different host machine for the RDC (Win2008, or Win7?)? I'm probably going to connect using the OS X Citrix client, but I'd be willing to BootCamp/Fusion up a Windows instance to work remotely, as well. I really want to be able to use multiple monitors remotely. It does "span" multiple montiors currently (I have a 3000x1024 desktop, for example) but I'd rather it be "true" multiple monitor instead of one giant desktop, if possible.

  Hey all, quick question. Our current legacy system was built using multiple distinct databases (about ten of them). These are all part of the same discreet system, and a large number of SPs and functionalty span multiple databases. There are also key relationships that span (for example, a header table may be in database A with history, etc. in database B). When deploying multiple copies of our app to the same server therefore, we have to use multiple instances (because the database names are coded into so many sprocs). We're evaluating the idea of taking these ten databases (about 30gb total with individual sizes ranging from 100mb to 10gb) and merging them into a single database. Currently, we have our databases spread accross multiple spindles for better IO. The question I have is whether or not there is any performance loss or benefit of having 10 different databases vs. 10 different database files? i.e. rather than having three databases (A, B, and C) Disk D: A.mdf (1gb) Disk E: B.mdf (4gb) Disk F: C.mdf (10gb) Disk G: A_Log.ldf, B_Log.ldf, C_Log.ldf have one database (X) Disk D: X1.mdf (5gb) Disk E: X2.mdf (5gb) Disk F: X3.mdf (5gb) Disk G: X1_log.ldf,X2_log.ldf,X3_log.ldf Thanks! -Bob

  I want to use multiple backgrounds in css, which are currently supported by Firefox 3.61, Chrome/Safari, supposedly Opera10.5 (doesn't run on gnu/linux). Is there any way to circumvent this behavior and set up two separate spans on the same card? Additionally, can you set up distinct display groups if they're on different cards? I will have the opportunity to test several of these cards in one machine very shortly, but I'm curious if anyone has any experience. EDIT: I can confirm that you can make multiple spans on multiple cards (as long as they don't cross cards, obviously) (If the answers are different for FirePro/FireMV cards and Radeon cards, that is helpful and relevant knowledge - I doubt it, though.)

  A colleague and I were speaking about browsers (using a browser control object in a project), and it appears as plain as day that all browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE, Opera) display the same characteristic or side-effect from their usage and that being 'Leaking Memory'. Can someone explain why that is the case? Surely as with any form of code, there should be proper garbage collection? PS.   My client's new website is example.com, the old website is example.co.uk. I've re-pointed the A Records to the new website (so as to leave the emails alone) and put in 301 redirects from old pages to new pages. But, my client is upset as he (and he thinks many of his clients) have the old website cached in their browsers and won't know how to clear their browser cache. Is there anything I can do to overcome this and if not, what sort of time will browsers finally stop using their cached pages so I can at least go back to my client and tell him that his clients will finally start to see the new website?

• Why would image thumbnails not be showing in all search engines in all browsers?

  For over a week now, when I search for a word at Google, it correctly gives me some preview image thumbnails: But when I click on "images", it doesn't show me any thumbnails: The same thing happens at Bing.com, when I search Bing itself it gives me some thumbnails on the general search result page: But when I click on "images", it doesn't show me any thumbnails: The same thing happens at Yahoo: If I click on one of the broken thumbnails, it shows me the picture fine: Thumbnails at youtube also work fine: It seems each search engine is hanging on different URLs as shown above: t1.gstatic.com ts3.mm.bing.net thm-a02.yimg.com so it doesn't seem to be the problem of one specific URL not sending thumbnails, it is just a problem with search engine image thumbnails in general. Also, this happens in every browser I try: Explorer, Firefox, Chrome. What could be the problem? Is it my computer, some setting somewhere, my router, my Internet provider (T-Online, Germany)? Has anyone ever had this problem and solved it?
