So I ordered one, and have connected three monitors, but I can only enable two at a time. It can be both of the ones connected by DisplayPort, or one of the ones connected by DisplayPort and the one connected by VGA. Does anyone know whether it really is possible to enable all three at once, and if so, how?

  Recently I put my second monitor on my computer. I have now two connections on my ATI graphic card: a VGA and newly added a DVI one. like this: Sine that, I need to start my computer with monitors powered ON, because if I do it after, thay does not "get up" and says that is "no video entry". Also, if I switch OFF my monitors when computer works, switching ON lets them in the sleep state... How can I fix this issue.

• Matching monitors

  Does anyone know a good matching monitor setup for multiple displays? Looking for 1920 x 1200 with IPS panel as the main screen and some 1600 x 1200 monitor for the side but no single manufacturer seems to make monitors that match like this. Do you all just deal with the resolution and size differences in multi setups or has anyone found decent IPS panel setups that match (size / vertical resolution)? Three 1920x1200 seems like overkill, that's why I was looking for 4:3 monitors for the sides.

  I have three 23" monitors attached to 2 cards: Geforce GT 220 (1gb) Geforce 8400 GS (512mb) My System is quad core (Q8300 @ 2.50Ghz) 6GB Ram 64-bit windows 7 professional I have 2 monitors connected to the GT 220 and they work perfectly. I have 1 monitor (was hoping to attach another one) to the 8400 The monitor atatched to the 8400 is quite slow and jerky. What can i do to improve the performance? I disabled aero theme, didn't make much difference (if any)

• Mouse curser gets "weird" when I move it between different monitors

  I'm using a Windows 7 64-bit machine with two monitors side by side. Sometimes when I have a fullsreen application running on my main monitor and I am moving the mouse curser between the two monitors, the curser gets corrupted. You cannot see that it is a curser anymore. To fix it I have to restart the computer. Has anyone heard about this problem before? How do I fix it without rebooting?

• Use 3 monitors w/built-in intel adapter + two old nvidia PCI cards on 10.10?

  I'd like to move from windows with my current workstation. The only thing holding me back is that I have 3 monitors connected to the system and I really take advantage of the real estate when working. I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 on the system and one of the monitors is up and running just fine. This monitor is connected to the built-in Intel adapter. I also have two old nVidia GeForce4 MX 4000 (nv19pl) cards in my two PCI slots with two monitors connected to them respectively. I installed the legacy (and proprietary) nVidia drivers (the nvidia-96 package) that claims to support these old cards. Now the question is how to get X configured to use all adapters (using two different drivers) so I can use all three monitors (and is this even possible)? From what I've read, it looks like I'll have to write an xorg.conf file since the nVidia driver doesn't support the auto-magic configuration supported by other drivers. On this site: http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config it says that on 10.10 I just need to write an xorg.conf "containing only those sections and options that you need to override Xorg's autoconfigurated settings". So, does this mean I can get away with only including the nVidia-specific configuration stuff and all else will get auto-configured? Or, will providing a config with a "Device" section overrule the auto-magic from detecting/using the Intel adapter? I ran the included nvidia-xconfig to generate a basic, nVidia-specific xorg.conf but I'm hesitant to reboot with it in place, suspecting I'll have a screwed up display. Also, is there any way (any tool or command) to generate an xorg.conf from the current, auto-configured running state of an X session? If I have to write a full, complete config, I'd rather start with one that includes everything that's been auto-detected thus far (and merge it with my nVidia version). Anyhow, any info and thoughts are greatly appreciated (as are answers).

  I'm a little confused on the jargon: does Multiple Render Targets (MRT) refer to outputting from a pixel shader to multiple elements in a struct? That is, when one says "MRT is to write to multiple textures", are multiple elements interleaved in a single output texture, or do you specify multiple discrete output textures? By the way, from what I understand, at least for DX9, all the elements of this struct need to be of the same size. Does this restriction still apply to DX11?

  I am looking to add a third monitor to my workstation. I currently have 2 monitors connected to a geforce gt 120. I am wanting to find the cheapest solution on adding another monitor, I have a old ati x300 laying around and wanting to know if I would be able to use that to power the other monitor and if it would conflict with my other graphic card (I am not a gamer).   From other posts here, I understand that it might be possible to use up to 3 monitors on this card. My understanding (from the other posts here as well) is that since I have a HDMI output, I do not have a 'DisplayPort', right ? Mine has indeed 3 ports: DVI, HDMI and VGA. Can I have dual-monitor using both the HDMI and DVI ports simulataneously (I am not looking for Eyefinity, but simply extended desktop). Currently I am using dual monitor with DVI and VGA but will replace my 17 inches next week with a new (larger) one that has both VGA and DVI, so I intend to use both monitors connected digitally. I intend to purchase a cable ''HDMI to DVI''(MM) to do so on the second monitor. Optimal resolution on the one I intend to keep (22 inches) : 1680 x 1050, primary monitor. New one (24 inches) has an optimal resolution of 1920 x 1080. Am I running for problems ? Thanks, Rob

• HP DV5T laptop problems using Adobe in multiple monitors

  I have a dualview arrangement of two monitors that works just fine for 90% of my applications. However, any time I open Adobe Acrobat Reader to the larger monitor, it fails to permit enlarging of the window to fill the entire screen. In other words, it seems Adobe crops the PDF view at about the size of the smaller of the two monitors, despite Acrobat being present in the larger monitor. I'm using nVideo graphics on the laptop, and connecting to the larger monitor through the docking port of a docking station. Any ideas how to get the Acrobat to be aware that it has more screen real-estate and use it fully?

• Remote sessions limited to two of many monitors?

  I have 3 monitors attached to my local PC arranged in a triangle. My goal is to have the top monitor display local content, while displaying a remote session across the bottom two. I have gotten this to work with span and RDP, but I am looking for a software that would allow the remote sessions to be restricted to a number of monitors of my choosing, rather than spanning. Does this software exist? I've looked extensively. If there is a hack or something that might do it, I'm totally down for getting my hands dirty.

• Shared volume for data (multiple MDF) and another shared volume for logs (multiple LDF)

  I have 3 instances of SQL Server 2008, each on different machines with multiple databases on each instance. I have 2 separate LUNS on my SAN for MDF and LDF files. The NDX and TempDB files run on the local drive on each machine. Is it O.K. for the 3 instances to share a same volume for the data files and another volume for the log files? I don't have thin provisioning on the SAN so I would like to not constaint disk space creating multiple volumes because I was adviced that I should create a volume (drive letter) for each instance, if not for each database. I am aware that I should split my logs and data files at least. No instance would share the actual database files, just the space on drive. Any help is appretiated.

  how is latency affected when multiple domains are using one single static IP address ? The scenario is in shared web-hosting By latency meaning the DNS lookup the client has to do. As far as I understand it, the browser would hit the root servers to try to figure out the IP Address and it belongs where and then when it comes to the correct server, it probably looks up some sort of table to determine which site names much and show that site as such via browser to the user. Is my understanding correct or backwards or what ?

• Two VGA monitors on Lenovo IdeaCentre H520 Desktop

  I recently bought a Lenovo IdeaCentre H520 computer and two VGA LED monitors. This particular PC has a dedicated NVIDIA Geforce GT630 video card and an integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 video card. Both cards have VGA out. The Geforce card also has a HDMI out. I have installed Windows 8 and I can't seem to use both cards. I have connected both monitors, one to the VGA out of the Geforce card and one to the VGA out of the integrated card. I looked through the BIOS options for Video and I can only select the dedicated one, the integrate one or the Auto option. This kinda sucks. I was wondering what kind of options I have available. I have a VGA female to DVI A male adaptor, I was wondering if it could work if I can hook it to a DVI A female to HDMI male adaptor and plug one monitor into the VGA out of the Geforce video card and the other through both adapters to the HDMI out. Any chance this could work? I was looking online for a VGA to HDMI live cable but it's kind of expensive.

I do not want to use Server Name Indication (SNI) as described here, and I'm only concerned with the important top-level Apache directives.   My only issue that is stopping me from moving to Linux is the dual monitor support. If I use TwinView, maximizing an application causes it to take over both monitors, not maximize in the current monitor the way it works in Windows. If I use two separate X windows, certain programs default to a specific monitor with no way of moving it to the other desktop. Has anyone else had these issues? Are there any detailed dual monitor resources.for Linux/Ubuntu I can read?

  I'm using VS2010, which has the cool feature of allowing you to drag panels out of the main IDE window. I like to drag some of the panels off to one of my other monitors. Unfortunately, after each run/debug session, VS2010 seems to forget where I had the panels, and dumps them right in the middle of the IDE window, and I have to move it again.   I've got a USB hub with 4 ports, and I've plugged 2 usb keyboards and 2 usb mouses. They work very fine. I've setup'ed 2 monitors too, so I was thinking about the possibility of the mouse and keyboards works independent one of another. I want two mouse pointers (I think each with different colors) and 2 keyboard cursors. I think it a nice idea, but I don't know if this is possible... :( PS: My OS is Windows7
