  • GlassFish v2.1 -- getting Application Client and Eclipselink to work together?

    We are trying to use Eclipselink 1.1 with Glassfish v2.1. Following the instructions on: http://wiki.glassfish.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=FaqEclipseLinkGlassFishV2 I adapted the instructions for the appclient script on linux by adding the lines: APPCPATH=$APPCPATH:$AS_INSTALL/lib/eclipselink-1.1.1.jar export APPCPATH to the appclient shell script. This however is not working. On running the application client (using Glassfish's webstart), I get the error: WARNING: "IOP00810257: (MARSHAL) Could not load class org.eclipse.persistence.indirection.IndirectList" Anyone else succeed in getting GF v 2.1 to work with eclipselink? or any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? I found this bug report: http s://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=8204 (New users can't post more than 1 link, so remove the space between 'http' and 's'.) Where Tim Quinn (tjquinn) said: App client container support for persistence is not yet in place I think this refers only to Glassfish v3, and it should be working in Glassfish v2. Is this correct?     I am creating an excel report in vb.net using the office interop. When the report is completed I am saving the excel file on the C drive. The users have asked to save file anywhere they want not just the c drive. Can someone give me some code to popup an opend file dialog in asp.net? I want the dialog to popup in a saveAs in ASP.NET. I know how to do it in win forms, but I am creating an excel report in asp.net and calling the worksheet objects SaveAs property that excepts a fileName. So right now I just hardcode a file name in there. The users want to choose a file location

Since this is an asp.net I need the user to pick a local filepath to put the file on. If I pass any path to this function its gonna try to write it to the directory specified on the server where the code is. I would like this to popup and let the user select a place on their local machine to put the file....     I have been asked to create import functionality in my application. I am getting an excel worksheet as input. The worksheet has column headers followed by data. The users want to simply select an xls file from their system, click upload and the tool deletes the table in the database and adds this new data. I thought the best way would be too bring the data into a datatable object and do a foeach for every row in the datatable insert row by row into the db. My question is what can anyone give me code to open an excel file, know what line the data starts on in the file, and import the data into a datable object?

  • 'Step Into' is suddenly not working in Visual Studio

    All of a sudden, I have run into an issue where I cannot step into any code through debugging in Visual Studio. The step over works fine, but it refuses to step into (F11) any of my code. This was working before, now all of a sudden it does not. I've tried some things below, but I still had no success: Delete all bin files in every project in my solution, clean solution, re-build solution. Build projects in solution indivdualy Restart machine It an ASP.NET C# application consuming a WCF sevice locally. It is in debug mode. I have a breakpoint set on the page consuming the service. The breakpoint hits, but it will not step into the service code. The ASP.NET site and the service code is all in the same solution. This all of a sudden does not work, it did work before. How can I fix this problem? Adding a breakpoint to the service project I get a warning: Breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document. I deleted all the bin folders for all the projects and re-built them one by one. They all succeeded, but still I am getting the symbols won't load on any breakpoint I put into any project in the solution other than the ASP.NET project where the breakpoint works. I was able to debug step into all the projects before, this is an all of a sudden thing. Information from the output window..     What is the best way to create a web service that returns a set of x,y coordinates? I am not sure on the object that is the best return type. When consuming the service I want to have it come back as xml preferibly something like this for example: <TheData> <Point> <x>0</x> <y>2</y> </Point> <Point> <x>5</x> <y>3</y> </Point> </TheData> If someone has a better structure to return please help I am new at all this.

The problem here is lblEmpl.Visible=true never gets hit because this code doesnt cause a postback to the server. Even if I put the line of code lblEmpl.Visible=true at the top of the click event the line executes fine, but the page is never updated. How can I fix this?

    I have an arraylist that holds a subset of names found in my database. I need to write a query to get a count of the people in the arraylist for certain sections i.e. There is a field "City" in my database from the people in the arraylist of names I want to know how many of them live in Chicago, how many live in New York etc. Can someone help me how I might set up an sql statement to handle this. I think somehow I have to pass the subset of names to sql somehow.

  • WPF MediaPlayer doesn't play M4A?

    I am trying to use a MediaPlayer instance to play M4A files. For those of you that aren't familiar, MediaPlayer is the non-XAML version of a MediaElement. There are pretty much the same, but I don't want any XAML, so I use a MediaPlayer instead. Anyways, it plays some M4A files just fine. The NaturalDuration of other M4A files is 0, but it still plays. The remaining files don't play at all and the exception thrown is "Media file download failed." Playing all these songs using Windows Media Player works perfectly. Isn't the MediaPlayer and MediaElement classes built upon the same framework as WMP? I'm confused as to why it isn't working. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nick

  • onload Event in embedded SVG not calling function in attached script. Scope Issue?

    Hi So I've got an XHTML page with a script - not inline > <script type="text/javascript" > src="../global/js/scripts.js"></script> and an embedded (I tried embed and object, same behavior) SVG document with a onload="CheckIfLoaded(evt)" attribute. The problem is firefox doesn't call the CheckIfLoaded() function in scripts.js. Firebug gives me "CheckIfLoaded() is not defined" with no reference to any line numbers. I can't find any information regarding the scope of javascript functions with respect to embedded content. Curiously, it works fine in IE. I could of course add a reference to the script into the SVG file as well but I believe that will result in the client downloading the scripts file twice and in addition I have 1000+ svg files and I'd really rather not add one line to all of them, although I suppose I could write a batch file or whatever if I have to. Any one know more about this? Thanks, Nick
