  • CSS Margin Issue

    - by jiewmeng
    i have an issue with my css where if i use margin: 0 instead of margin-top: 0, for header p, the header { margin: 0 0 20px; } will be as good as not there. isit supposed to be like that? if i see what happens in firebug, its because the margin-bottom of header collapsed into the next sibling, the section. html <header> <h1>ToDo List</h1> <p>HTML5 Offline Capable Web Application</p> </header> css header { font: 24px/1em Notethis; color: #666; margin: 0 0 20px; } header h1 { font: 60px/1.4em Hetilica; margin: 0; } header p { margin-top: 0; }

  • cakePHP - ACL tutorial & SQL Error: 1104

    - by vector
Greetings! I run into a problem/bug in production environment with SQL Error: 1104 when deploying a project secured with the ACL tutorial. The full error: SQL Error: 1104: The SELECT would examine more than MAX_JOIN_SIZE rows; check your WHERE and use SET SQL_BIG_SELECTS=1 or SET SQL_MAX_JOIN_SIZE=# if the SELECT is okay [CORE/cake/libs/model/datasources/dbo_source.php, line 666] I've build a small site, worked through the ACL tutorial from the official cake book and locally everything is spiffy. dev. setup consists of: XAMPP: myslq 5.1.33, php 5.3 cakePHP 1.2.7 prod. setup: mysql 5.0.33 php 5.2.2 One of the differences I noticed with mysql setup between local and production servers, is that SQL_BIG_SELECTS is disabled on the production server ( and I don't have privileges to change that, posted a support ticked, didn't hear anything yet) Is there anything I can do about this from my end? Thanks in advance.

  • Cant access log files in production.

    - by Sid
I was trying to run my application and check for some output on the production.log. However Rails throws this error. Apache log Rails Error: Unable to access log file. Please ensure that /var/www/somefolder/someapp/log/production.log exists and is chmod 0666. The log level has been raised to WARN and the output directed to STDERR until the problem is fixed. I have performed the necessary chmod 666 production.log to make it work but I realized that the file is under root access. So my file permissions are -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 20845 2010-03-18 01:18 production.log Im not sure how to allow Rails to access this file. Im fairly new to managing linux production env so I request you to excuse my ignorance.

  • Funny characters in my db

    - by hdx
My web app is breaking when I try edit a certain content type and I'm pretty sure it is because of some weird characters in my database. So when I do: SELECT body FROM message WHERE id = 666 it returns: <p>⢠<span></span></p><p><br /></p><p><em><strong>NOTE:</strong> Please remember to use your to participate in the discussion.</em></p> However when I try to count how many documents have those characters postgres complains: foo_450_prod=# SELECT COUNT(*) FROM message WHERE body LIKE'%â¢%'; ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xe2a225 HINT: This error can also happen if the byte sequence does not match the encodi Does anybody know what the issue is and how I can query for those funny characters? Thanks in advance!

  • Puzzle: Overload a C++ function according to the return value

    - by Motti
We all know that you can overload a function according to the parameters: int mul(int i, int j) { return i*j; } std::string mul(char c, int n) { return std::string(n, c); } Can you overload a function according to the return value? Define a function that returns different things according to how the return value is used: int n = mul(6, 3); // n = 18 std::string s = mul(6, 3); // s = "666" // Note that both invocations take the exact same parameters (same types) You can assume the first parameter is between 0-9, no need to verify the input or have any error handling.

  • Actionscript 3 svg XML parsing bug?

    - by Mahir
    Hey I get two different results when using the for each loop below. As far as I can tell there's no difference aside from attributes in the two XML literals. for each (var pathXML:XML in svg.path) { // do stuff... trace(pathXML.@stroke) } // This one works, the loop iterates once over the single path element... var svg:XML = <svg> <path stroke="#00FF00" /> </svg> // This one doesn't, the loop just exits. var svg:XML = <svg version="1.1" id="Layer_1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" x="0px" y="0px" width="612px" height="792px" viewBox="0 0 612 792" enable-background="new 0 0 612 792" xml:space="preserve"> <path fill="#FFFFFF" stroke="#000000" d="M160.333,372.444c0,0,17.778-115.555,60-63.333s27.778-106.666,78.889,40" /> </svg>

  • Getting a PasteScript error when I try to serve an existing Pylons app.

    - by Sarah
I'm trying to serve an existing Python 2.5 Pylons application on OS X Snow Leopard. I've already installed Python 2.5 and set it as the default Python installation, installed paster, and installed the version of Pylons the app needs (0.9.6.1) as well as other eggs... but when I cd to the main folder and do "paster serve development.ini" I get the following: File "/usr/local/bin/paster", line 5, in <module> from pkg_resources import load_entry_point File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Extras/lib/python/pkg_resources.py", line 2603, in <module> File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Extras/lib/python/pkg_resources.py", line 666, in require File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Extras/lib/python/pkg_resources.py", line 565, in resolve pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: PasteScript==1.7.3 I definitely have done "easy_install PasteScript==1.7.3" and I still get this error. Is there something really obvious I'm missing? Help? Thanks in advance.

  • Drupal does not recognize my website has been installed

    - by Marcos Buarque
After a successful Drupal install, I was trying to follow the security recommendations and reverted the settings.php file to 444 permissions (read, read, read). Then, all of a sudden, right after doing that, Drupal does not recognize the installation process was completed. It went back to the install screen. Worst of all. I did chmod back to 666 (write, write, write) but it does not work any more. When I move forward as if I was going to install Drupal again, he tells me he does not have permissions to create the files folder under sites/default... But since the installation has already been completed... the files folder is already there... I am puzzled... Could it be some sort of server caching? Since this is one of my first adventures with a Linux server, I am a bit confused. Any help appreciated... Thanks.

  • css problem with unordered lists (as usual with IE)

    - by Emin
    I am using un-ordered lists that nests some divs to show the desired output on screen. I am using css to style them and they seem to look perfect on chrome and firefox. But in IE(8) it looks there is a problem which I was unable to locate. I am using the below CSS <style type="text/css"> .ur_container {width:980px; padding: 0; margin: 0;} .ur_container ul.bx_grp {list-style-type: none; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; } .ur_container ul.bx_lnx {list-style-type: none; padding: 5px; margin: 0px; } .bx_grp {border:1px solid #c5c5c5; background-color: yellow; margin:0; padding:0;} .bx_grp_header {background-color: #d6d6d6; border-bottom:1px solid #acacac;} .bx_grp_title {float: left; font: bold 11px Arial; padding:5px;} .bx_grp_options {float: right; font: 10px Arial; padding: 5px;} .bx_grp_options a{color: #125B93; text-decoration: none; } .bx_lnx {padding:0px; background-color: red;} .bx_lnx_header {font:11px Arial; color:#333;} .bx_lnx_title {float: left;} .bx_lnx_refno {background-color:#333; color: fff; padding: 1px; margin-right: 5px; } .bx_lnx_options {float: right;} .bx_lnx_options a {color: #258CF4; text-decoration: none;} .bx_lnx_url {font: 9px Arial; color: #999; margin-top: 4px; } .bx_lnx_notes {} .bx_lnx_notes span {background-color: #FDFFCC; color: #666; font: 9px Arial; padding:2px;} .bx_lnx_tags {} .bx_lnx_tags span {background-color: #efefef; border-bottom: 1px solid #ccc; color: #666; font: 9px Arial; padding: 1px 2px 1px 2px; margin-right: 5px;} </style> Against the following HTML <div class="ur_container"> <ul class="bx_grp" id="grp_1"> <li> <div class="bx_grp_header"> <span class="bx_grp_title">Personal File</span> <span class="bx_grp_options"><a href="#">rename</a> &bull; <a href="#">make private</a> &bull; <a href="#">hide</a href="#"> &bull; <a href="#">delete</a></span> <div style="clear: both;"></div> </div> </li> <li> <ul class="bx_lnx" id="lnx_1"> <li> <div class="bx_lnx_header"> <span class="bx_linx_title"><span class="bx_lnx_refno">#3103</span>How to file personal files</span> <span class="bx_lnx_options"><a href="#">edit</a> &bull; <a href="#">move</a> &bull; <a href="#">delete</a></span> </div> </li> <li class="bx_lnx_url">http://www.google.com</li> <li class="bx_lnx_notes"><span>search google for this</span></li> <li class="bx_lnx_tags"><span>personal</span><span>file</span><span>google</span></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> Which produces this output in Chrome and Fireworks and the following in IE The yellow and red colors was used in order to show that is being going wrong.   • How can I make the output from tapply() into a data.frame

    - by James Thompson
    I have a data.frame in R that looks like this: score rms template aln_id description 1 -261.410 4.951 2f22A.pdb 2F22A_1 S_00001_0000002_0 2 -231.987 21.813 1wb9A.pdb 1WB9A_4 S_00002_0000002_0 3 -263.722 4.903 2f22A.pdb 2F22A_3 S_00003_0000002_0 4 -269.681 17.732 1wbbA.pdb 1WBBA_6 S_00004_0000002_0 5 -258.621 19.098 1rxqA.pdb 1RXQA_3 S_00005_0000002_0 6 -246.805 6.889 1rxqA.pdb 1RXQA_15 S_00006_0000002_0 7 -281.300 16.262 1wbdA.pdb 1WBDA_11 S_00007_0000002_0 8 -271.666 4.193 2f22A.pdb 2F22A_2 S_00008_0000002_0 9 -277.964 13.066 1wb9A.pdb 1WB9A_5 S_00009_0000002_0 10 -261.024 17.153 1yy9A.pdb 1YY9A_2 S_00001_0000003_0 I can calculate summary statistics on the data.frame like this: > tapply( d$score, d$template, mean ) 1rxqA.pdb 1wb9A.pdb 1wbbA.pdb 1wbdA.pdb 1yy9A.pdb 2f22A.pdb -252.7130 -254.9755 -269.6810 -281.3000 -261.0240 -265.5993 Is there an easy way that I coerce this output back into a data.frame? I'd like for it to have these two columns: d$template mean I love tapply, but right now I'm cutting and pasting the results from tapply into a text file and hacking it up a bit to get the summary statistics that I want with appropriate names. This feels very wrong, and I'd like to do something better!

  • how could I pass closure problems in order to increment a global var

    - by hyptos
I have a simple goal, I would like to increment a variable but I'm facing the closure problem. I've read why this s happening here How do JavaScript closures work? But I can't find the solution to my problem :/ let's assume this part of code I took from the link. function say667() { // Local variable that ends up within closure var num = 666; var sayAlert = function() { alert(num); //incrementation } num++; return sayAlert; } I would like to increment num within the function and to keep the changes to num. How could I do that ? Here is the JsFiddle where I have my problem, I can't figure out how to increment my totalSize and keep it. http://jsfiddle.net/knLbv/2/ I don't want a local variable that ends up with closure.

  • Iscroll Wrapper doesnt get a height

    - by MCSell
    I got the following code: <div data-role="content" height="100%" data-iscroll> <div class="homebutton_zeile"> <a id="picture_home" href="#pictrues"> <div class="homebutton_all"> <div class="homebutton_name">Picture</div> <div class="homebutton_picture"> <img src="images/picture.png" alt="image" style="position: relative;"> </div> </div> </a> </div> </div> </div> My Classes of CSS .homebutton_zeile{ width: 100%; height: 30%; } .homebutton_all{ width: 30%; height: 90%; float:left; margin-left: 2%; margin-top:15px; } .homebutton_picture{ position: relative; width: 100%; height: 85%; float: left; background-color: #AAC7BD; border: 1px solid black; border-radius: 15px; box-shadow:8px 8px 8px #666; } .homebutton_name{ text-align:center; position: relative; top:-10px; width: 100%; height: 15%; margin-left: auto; text-decoration:none; color:black; } I am Using: iscroll.js jquery 1.8.2 jquery mobile 1.2.0 jqery mobile iscrollview. And if its needed to know jstorage.js and fastclick.js But the div above is not getting a height at the wrapper of iscroll. There is also a login before and this page will be shown automatically after the login after a $.mobile.changePage("#home"); function. I tried to do it as first page before the function of changePage and it gave me the same effect. If i put a   for example after the <div data-role="content" height="100%" data-iscroll>&nbps; The Wrapper get a height of 15px for the &nbps; but not for the images inside.

  • VMWare Fusion: "No Permission to access this virtual machine"

    - by Craig Walker
I had a VMWare Fusion VM backed up on my home network file server (Ubuntu). I wanted to run it again, so I copied it back to my Macbook. When I tried to launch it in VMWare, I got an error message: No permission to access this virtual machine. Configuration file: /Users/craig/WinXP Clean + Scanner.vmwarevm/WinXP Pro Test.vmx The permissions look fine to me: The bundle directory is 777 The bundle files (including the listed .vmx) are all 666 User is craig (my current user); group is staff. I changed the group to wheel at the suggestion of this page, but that didn't help. Finder shows read & write for craig, staff, and everyone on the bundle directory The bundle dir is also not locked Finder also shows rw and unlocked for the .vmx file The parent directory is also rw & unlocked Disk Utility permissions check doesn't show any problems with any of the associated files It sure looks like I should have wide open access to run this VM; why is Fusion complaining?

  • supervisord launches with wrong setuid

    - by friendzis
I am trying to test a pilot system with nginx connecting to uwsgi served application controlled by supervisord running on ubuntu-server. Application is written in python with Flask in virtualenv, although I'm not sure if that is relevant. To test the system I have created a simple hello world with flask. I want nginx and uwsgi both to run as www-data user. If I launch uwsgi "manually" from root shell I can see uwsgi processes runing as appropriate user (www-data). Although, if I let supervisor launch the application something strange happens - uwsgi processes are runing under my user (friendzis). Consequently, socket file gets created under wrong user and nginx cannot communicate with my applicaion. note: the linux server runs as Hyper-V VM, under Windows Server 2008. Relevant configuration: [uwsgi] socket = /var/www/sockets/cowsay.sock chmod-socket = 666 abstract-socket = false master = true workers = 2 uid = www-data gid = www-data chdir = /var/www/cowsay/cowsay pp = /var/www/cowsay/cowsay pyhome = /var/www/cowsay module = cowsay callable = app supervisor [program:cowsay] command = /var/www/cowsay/bin/uwsgi -s /var/www/sockets/cowsay.sock -w cowsay:app directory = /var/www/cowsay/cowsay user = www-data autostart = true autorestart = true stdout_logfile = /var/www/cowsay/log/supervisor.log redirect_stderr = true stopsignal = QUIT I'm sure I'm missing some minor detail, but I'm unable to notice it. Would appreciate any suggestions.

  • Need Routing help (tagged/untagged)

    - by TheCleaner
I really need some help trying to figure some "basic" routing. My brain is fried from being sick for a week and I'm not thinking clearly. Picture below describes my "setup". I'm trying to accomplish routing a user from their workstation to the Juniper SSG520 and then "OUT" through the internet connection. I can't move the connection as it is physically located where the user's switch is. Here's what I CAN do at this point: I can ping from the Juniper SSG520 eth3/3 to 6x.xxx.253.116 from 6x.xxx.253.114 I can ping from the x450 in the top right to 6x.xxx.253.112 from 6x.xxx.253.116 What I CANNOT DO: I cannot ping from the SSG520 eth3/3 to 6x.xxx.253.112 from 6x.xxx.253.114 (basically from the Juniper box to the gateway. I've tried changing port 1 in the x450 VLAN 666 as tagged but when I do that then I can't even ping from the Juniper SSG520 eth3/3 to the VLAN on the x450 (6x.xxx.253.116). I need to route traffic out the eth3/3 interface on the SSG520 THROUGH the 2 x450 Switches and out the internet connection. The caveat is that the 2 x450 switches are connected via fiber over distance and have tagged VLANs in them for the routing. Thoughts? http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/7752/drawing1.jpg

In read benchmark, results are similar: dd of=/dev/null if=DD bs=8M count=10000 iflag=direct 10000+0 records in 10000+0 records out 83886080000 bytes (84 GB) copied, 79,5918 s, 1,1 GB/s If remove iflag=direct obtain 150MB/s... I don't understand this huge differences, on other machines y don't have this behavior. Can I have some kernel parameter misconfigured? Thanks!

I have followed this tutorial about setting up an OpenVPN Server on Windows Server - and a client on Windows (in this case Windows 8).
