  • Lucene stop words not removed during searching need a substitute for AnalyzingQueryParser

    - by iamrohitbanga
    I have created a Lucene index with the following analyzer. public class DocSpecAnalyzer extends Analyzer { private static CharArraySet stopSet;// = new HashSet<String>(Arrays.asList());//STOP_WORDS_SET; static { stopSet = new CharArraySet(FDConstants.stopwords, true); // uncommenting this displays all the stop words // for (String s: FDConstants.stopwords) { // System.out.println(s); // } } /** * Specifies whether deprecated acronyms should be replaced with HOST type. * See {@linkplain https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-1068} */ private final boolean enableStopPositionIncrements; private final Version matchVersion; public DocSpecAnalyzer(Version matchVersion) { this.matchVersion = matchVersion; enableStopPositionIncrements = StopFilter.getEnablePositionIncrementsVersionDefault(matchVersion); } public TokenStream tokenStream(String fieldName, Reader reader) { StandardTokenizer tokenStream = new StandardTokenizer(matchVersion, reader); tokenStream.setMaxTokenLength(DEFAULT_MAX_TOKEN_LENGTH); TokenStream result = new StandardFilter(tokenStream); result = new LowerCaseFilter(result); result = new StopFilter(enableStopPositionIncrements, result, stopSet); result = new PorterStemFilter(result); return result; } /** Default maximum allowed token length */ public static final int DEFAULT_MAX_TOKEN_LENGTH = 255; } Now when I search for documents for a query containing stop words, i get hits for stop words also. It is because of http://lucene.apache.org/java/2_9_2/api/contrib-misc/org/apache/lucene/queryParser/analyzing/AnalyzingQueryParser.html not handling stop words. Is there a substitute? Update: forgot to mention that I need to do a fuzzy search. that is why i am using an AnalyzingQueryParser. Update portion of code that invokes AnalyzingQueryParser AnalyzingQueryParser parser = new AnalyzingQueryParser(Version.LUCENE_CURRENT,"description", analyzer); // fuzzy matching preparation String fuzzyStr = TextQuery.prepareFuzzy(tq.text, fuzzyDist); Query query = parser.parse(fuzzyStr); TopScoreDocCollector collector = TopScoreDocCollector.create(numHits, true); searcher.search(query, collector);

  • Xcode 3.2: Build & Analyze never finds any issues

    - by GamingHorror
I've used the Clang Static Analyzer from the command line before. I wanted to try Xcode's built-in version via Build & Analyze. I never get any negative results even though i specially prepared my code with very obvious issues Clang was always able to point out: // over-releasing an object: [label release]; [label release]; // uninitialized vars, allocating but not freeing an object NSString* str; int number; CCLabel* newLabel = [[CCLabel alloc] initWithString:str fontName:str fontSize:number]; [newLabel setPosition:CGPointZero]; The result is always the same: a green checkbox, no issues. I read that C++ code can cause issues. I'm running this with cocos2d that includes box2d. Could this be a cause? Did anyone get results from Build & Analyze with the cocos2d engine? What else could it be? I also tried enabling the Static Analyzer Build Settings and then Build but the result was the same. I have restarted Xcode, cleaned all targets and emptied Xcode caches to no avail.

  • My boss is feuding with his boss. My workload is expanding What should I do?

    - by steve
These two have always had a somewhat shaky relationship when they were on the same level. The other guy was recently promoted to director and now my boss reports to him. On the surface, they appear to get along when they get together, but my boss despises the man and badmouths him every chance that he gets (to peers, subordinates, etc). He believe that the director is setting him up to fail. The Director and upper management is holding my boss responsible for the not-so-great performance by the team as of late. He's been playing games to make my boss look bad. Due to lay offs, we don't have the manpower to deliever the results that we did before...but expectations have not lowered...and my boss is taking the heat for it. Now he's on the warpath and starting to micromanage. He's giving everyone more work. He's forcing us midlevel guys to take responsibility for the level one techs' performance. I'm spending less and less time coding....and more time babysitting vendors, techs, etc. I'm not so sure that's a bad thing because I'm sorta burnt out on coding, but I don't really care for the idea of having to be responsible for others poor performance....isn't that the manager's job? Anyway, do you guys have any suggestions on dealing with the situation?

  • SPARC T3-1 Record Results Running JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Day in the Life Benchmark with Added Batch Component

    - by Brian
Using Oracle's SPARC T3-1 server for the application tier and Oracle's SPARC Enterprise M3000 server for the database tier, a world record result was produced running the Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications Day in the Life benchmark run concurrently with a batch workload. The SPARC T3-1 server based result has 25% better performance than the IBM Power 750 POWER7 server even though the IBM result did not include running a batch component. The SPARC T3-1 server based result has 25% better space/performance than the IBM Power 750 POWER7 server as measured by the online component. The SPARC T3-1 server based result is 5x faster than the x86-based IBM x3650 M2 server system when executing the online component of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.1 Day in the Life benchmark. The IBM result did not include a batch component. The SPARC T3-1 server based result has 2.5x better space/performance than the x86-based IBM x3650 M2 server as measured by the online component. The combination of SPARC T3-1 and SPARC Enterprise M3000 servers delivered a Day in the Life benchmark result of 5000 online users with 0.875 seconds of average transaction response time running concurrently with 19 Universal Batch Engine (UBE) processes at 10 UBEs/minute. The solution exercises various JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications while running Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 and Oracle Web Tier Utilities 11g HTTP server in Oracle Solaris Containers, together with the Oracle Database 11g Release 2. The SPARC T3-1 server showed that it could handle the additional workload of batch processing while maintaining the same number of online users for the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Day in the Life benchmark. This was accomplished with minimal loss in response time. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.1 takes advantage of the large number of compute threads available in the SPARC T3-1 server at the application tier and achieves excellent response times. The SPARC T3-1 server consolidates the application/web tier of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.1 application using Oracle Solaris Containers. Containers provide flexibility, easier maintenance and better CPU utilization of the server leaving processing capacity for additional growth. A number of Oracle advanced technology and features were used to obtain this result: Oracle Solaris 10, Oracle Solaris Containers, Oracle Java Hotspot Server VM, Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1, Oracle Web Tier Utilities 11g, Oracle Database 11g Release 2, the SPARC T3 and SPARC64 VII+ based servers. This is the first published result running both online and batch workload concurrently on the JD Enterprise Application server. No published results are available from IBM running the online component together with a batch workload. The 9.0.1 version of the benchmark saw some minor performance improvements relative to 9.0. When comparing between 9.0.1 and 9.0 results, the reader should take this into account when the difference between results is small. Performance Landscape JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Day in the Life Benchmark Online with Batch Workload This is the first publication on the Day in the Life benchmark run concurrently with batch jobs. Oracle offers 70 JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application modules to support a diverse set of business operations. Oracle's Day in the Life (DIL) kit is a suite of scripts that exercises most common transactions of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, including business processes such as payroll, sales order, purchase order, work order, and other manufacturing processes, such as ship confirmation. These are labeled by industry acronyms such as SCM, CRM, HCM, SRM and FMS. The kit's scripts execute transactions typical of a mid-sized manufacturing company. The workload consists of online transactions and the UBE workload of 15 short and 4 long UBEs. LoadRunner runs the DIL workload, collects the user’s transactions response times and reports the key metric of Combined Weighted Average Transaction Response time. The UBE processes workload runs from the JD Enterprise Application server. Oracle's UBE processes come as three flavors: Short UBEs < 1 minute engage in Business Report and Summary Analysis, Mid UBEs > 1 minute create a large report of Account, Balance, and Full Address, Long UBEs > 2 minutes simulate Payroll, Sales Order, night only jobs. The UBE workload generates large numbers of PDF files reports and log files. The UBE Queues are categorized as the QBATCHD, a single threaded queue for large UBEs, and the QPROCESS queue for short UBEs run concurrently. One of the Oracle Solaris Containers ran 4 Long UBEs, while another Container ran 15 short UBEs concurrently. The mixed size UBEs ran concurrently from the SPARC T3-1 server with the 5000 online users driven by the LoadRunner. Oracle’s UBE process performance metric is Number of Maximum Concurrent UBE processes at transaction rate, UBEs/minute. Key Points and Best Practices Two JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Application Servers and two Oracle Fusion Middleware WebLogic Servers 11g R1 coupled with two Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Web Tier HTTP Server instances on the SPARC T3-1 server were hosted in four separate Oracle Solaris Containers to demonstrate consolidation of multiple application and web servers. • GUI tool for packet replay

    - by superuser
Is there a freeware Windows/Linux GUI packet replay tool that has the advanced features of tcpreplay (http://tcpreplay.synfin.net/) or bittwist (http://bittwist.sourceforge.net)? I'm particularly interested in the following features: Open pcap files for editing and injecting into arbitrary network Change source and destination addresses/ports of UDP packets Change packet timing (with millisecond resolution) Edit packet contents, including modifying its length Has graphical front end for Windows or Linux (or Mac OS X) I've scanned a couple lists of potential tools (here and here), but nothing really fits my requirements. The closest tool might be Ostinato (http://code.google.com/p/ostinato/), but it doesn't appear to open packet capture files. Thanks for any help!

  • Ntop monitoring - Hosts visible with no SPAN/mirroring

    - by Cory J
I am attempting to use ntop to monitor traffic over a Cisco Catalyst switch. I was assuming that in order to see any of the traffic, I'd have to use monitor, as described here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_tech_note09186a008015c612.shtml. Howver, before I did anything on the switch, I simply plugged my ntop server in and fired up ntop. To my suprise, I instantly see 3+ pages of hosts, and thousands of packets. How is ntop seeing this? I have verified that no monitoring exists on the switch (run as en): cs1.pvdc#show monitor No SPAN configuration is present in the system. My ntop server is Ubuntu 8.04, I haven't done ANY configuration, I just installed the ntop package. This is also a fresh Ubuntu install. Is there anything else on my switch besides "monitor" that might cause my switch to mirror all its traffic like this? I've tried plugging ntop into different ports with the same results. UPDATE: It appears to be more then just broadcast traffic showing up in ntop, for example, I can see when my IPs have talked to the DNS server or generated HTTP traffic. If my switch is misconfigured, can anyone point me in the right direction towards rectify this? Not a Cisco expert.

  • Using tshark to generate traffic logs every X seconds

    - by Sridhar Iyer
I'm trying to use tshark to maintain a running history of all the packets that are going through an interface, for say 30 seconds. I want it to be human readable. This is a linux machine, and without mucking too much into the netstack source (which I can do if push comes to shove), I was wondering if I can use tshark to this. tshark has a -b duration:10 -b files:2 which I can use to generate a rotating set of 2 files, but I don't know which format it is printing the file in or how to read it.

  • Confusion about TCP packet analysis terms

    - by Berkay
I'm analyzing our network and have some confusion about the terms: this is the 2-packet output from source to destination. from these i have to get some features as describe, pls make me clear... packets with at least a bytes of TCP data payload: it seems tcp.len0; The minimum segment size (confusion is headers are included or or not) The average segment size observed during the lifetime of the connection, the definition: is calculated as the value reported in the actual data bytes divided by the actual data pkts reported. Total bytes in IP packets, should be ip_len value. Total bytes in (Ethernet) The total number of bytes sent probably related to frame.len and frame.cap_len these two terms are describes as, also make me clear about these two terms. frame.cap_len: Frame length stored into the capture file frame.len: Frame length on the wire

  • Convert from port numbers to protocol names in wireshark

i'm simply using tshark -r botnet.pcap -T fields -E separator=';' -e ip.src -e tcp.srcport -e ip.dst -e tcp.dstport '(tcp.flags.syn == 1 and tcp.flags.ack == 0)' to see the all initiated "legal TCP" connections. However, i need the destination port number conversion to "http" "netbios" etc. i'm not using -n option, but still i get: 128.3.45.128;62259;208.233.189.150;80 This is what i'm trying to get: 128.3.45.128;62259;208.233.189.150;http or 128.3.45.128;62259;208.233.189.150;80;http is better option for me. any idea from tshark users? or any other tool suggestions?

  • Debugger for Iptables

    - by chris_l
Hi, I'm looking for an easy way to follow a packet through the iptables rules. This is not so much about logging, because I don't want to log all traffic (and I only want to have LOG targets for very few rules). Something like Wireshark for Iptables. Or maybe even something similar to a debugger for a programming language. Thanks Chris

  • Is there an Installer Analyser tool that can list what Registry Keys will be created?

    - by EvoGamer
I can think of 3 ways to achieve my goal: Create a clean VPC, install a given piece of software, and compare the before and after states. Somehow reverse-engineer the installer. Somehow redirect the output of the installer in question so that all registry calls and copy/move file commands are recorded, but not executed. The first option can be done manually, or potentially automated, but I feel it's rather OTT for my needs. The second could cause all sorts of licencing issues, not to mention it may not always return a correct result. Also, without delving into hex editing, I can't think of a way that it would be possible to do manually (some installers - eg Anti-Virus software - may react unfavourably on automated attempts to investigate the installer). The third option shows the most promise, although if the first could be stripped down into a lightweight throwaway environment, it would work pretty much the same way. However, I'm not sure how to do it. So my question is: What tools are available (if any) and/or how could I find out this information manually? I'm not looking to reverse-engineer anything (if I can help it), but I just want to know exactly what changes are being made to my PC by a given piece of software.

  • How to detect an iPhone connecting a network?

    - by JayCrossler
I've noticed through watching Wireshark that when an iPhone connects to a wifi network, it sends out a few IGMP/MDNS packets to 224.0.0.251 (LAN broadcast, I think). Is there any easy way to watch for these packets and then either run a script or send an event? Or, is the best way to just run a packet sniffer? Any simple ones that can send events or execute curl commands when a filter is triggered? When I run nc -u -l 5353 I get: My-Name-iPhonelocal??? x???)?? ??cc^C Can I do something like: nc -u -l 5353 | grep iPhonelocal | execute command...

  • Monitor number of bytes transferred to/from IP address on port.

    - by Mike
Can anyone recommend a linux command line tool to monitor the number of bytes transferred between the local server and a specified IP address/port. The equivalent tcpdump command would be: tcpdump -s 0 -i any -w mycapture.trc port 80 host google.com which outputs : 46 packets captured 131 packets received by filter 0 packets dropped by kernel I'd like something similar that outputs: 54 bytes out, 176 bytes in I'd like it to work on RHEL and be free/open-source. It would be good if there was an existing tool which I was just missing too!

  • In Wireshark's Protocol Hierarchy Statistics screen, is the total byte count of a capture the sum of the Bytes column or just the top line (Frame)?

    - by Howiecamp
Part 1 - I'm looking at Wireshark's Protocol Hierarchy Statistics screen (sample below), is the total byte count of the capture the sum of the Bytes column or just the top line (Frame)? I'm 99% that it's the latter because of protocol rollup but I wanted to conform. Part 2 - From Wireshark documentation on this screen, "Protocol layers can consist of packets that won't contain any higher layer protocol, so the sum of all higher layer packets may not sum up to the protocols packet count. Example: In the screenshot TCP has 85,83% but the sum of the subprotocols (HTTP, ...) is much less. This may be caused by TCP protocol overhead, e.g. TCP ACK packets won't be counted as packets of the higher layer)." Can you explain this?

  • Configure server on network to analyze traffic

    - by Strajan Sebastian
I have the following network: http://i.stack.imgur.com/rapkH.jpg I want to send all the traffic from the devices that connect to the 192.168.0.1 router to the 192.168.10.1 router(and eventually to the Internet), by passing through the server and an additional router. Almost 2 days have passed and I can't figure what is wrong. While searching on the Internet for some similar configuration I found some articles that are somehow related to my needs, but the proposed solutions don't seem to work for me. This is a similar article: iptables forwarding between two interface I done the following steps for the configuration process: Set static IP address 192.168.1.90 for the eth0 on the server from the 192.168.1.1 router Set static IP address 192.168.0.90 for the eth1 on the server from the 192.168.0.1 router Forwarded all the traffic from 192.168.0.1 router to the server on eth1 interface witch seems to be working. The router firmware has some option to redirect all the traffic from all the ports to a specified address. Added the following rules on the server(Only the following, there aren't any additional rules): iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth1 -j MASQUERADE iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -m state -–state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o eth1 -j ACCEPT I also tried changing iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -m state -–state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT into iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT but still is not working. After adding the following to enable the packet forwarding for the server that is running CentOS: echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 After a server restart and extra an extra check to see that all the configuration from above are still available I tried to see again if I can ping from a computer connected to 192.168.0.1/24 LAN the router from 192.168.1.1 but it didn't worked. The server has tshark(console wireshark) installed and I found that while sending a ping from a computer connected to 192.168.0.1 router to 192.168.1.1 the 192.168.0.90(eth1) receives the ping but it doesn't forward it to the eth0 interface as the rule tells: iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT and don't now why this is happening. Questions: The iptables seem that don't work as I am expecting. Is there a need to add in the NAT table from iptables rules to redirect the traffic to the proper location, or is something else wrong with what I've done? I want to use tshark to view the traffic on the server because I think that is the best at doing this. Do you know something better that tshark to capture the traffic and maybe analyze it?

  • What is the best way/tool to analyze raw data(network stats) from Simulation?

    - by user90500
After running a simulation(using a simulator(QualNet)) of a simulated network I end up with ip stats stored in a database, I then extract the data to a csv file So now I have 750mb of raw network stats(time stamp, packet id, source ip, source port, protocol, etc). What are the common ways of analyzing large amounts of data like above, if you want to know things like packet loss, throughput, delay, congestion, etc.

  • Is the scope of what Xcode's "Build and Analyze" will catch as a leak supposed to be this limited?

    - by Ranking Stackingblocks
It doesn't care about this: NSString* leaker() { return [[NSString alloc] init]; } I thought it would have been smart enough to check if any code paths could call that function without releasing its return value (I wouldn't normally code this way, I'm just testing the analyzer). It reports this as a leak: NSString* leaker() { NSString* s = [[NSString alloc] init]; [s retain]; return s; } but NOT this: NSString* leaker() { NSString* s = [[NSString alloc] init]; // [s retain]; return s; } which seems particularly weak to me. Does it only analyze within the local scope? If the tool can't pick up on things like this, how can I expect it to pick up on actual mistakes that I might make?

  • How can I fix this clang warning: "Object with +0 retain counts returned to caller where +1 (owning)

    - by mipadi
I have a piece of Objective-C code that looks like the following: - (NSString *)copyData:(NSData *)data { NSString *path = [[[self outputDirectory] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"archive"] stringByAppendingPathExtension:@"zip"]; NSLog(@"Copying data to %@", path); [data writeToFile:path atomically:NO]; return path; } The code is called from an initializer that looks like this: - (id)initWithData:(NSData *)data { if ((self = [super init]) != nil) { NSString *path = [self copyData:data]; // Line 41 (referenced in warning, shown below) return [self initWithContentsOfFile:path]; } return self; } When running the clang static analyzer, I get the following warnings for the path variable: Potential leak of an object allocated on line 41 and stored into 'path' Object with +0 retain counts returned to caller where +1 (owning) retain count is expected I'm confused. My understanding is that stringByAppendingPathComponent should not return an autoreleased string, so it should have a net retain count of 0. (Obviously I don't want to retain it.) I've tried altering copyData: to return the following, but it didn't get rid of the warning: return [[path retain] autorelease]; So what's the deal with this warning?

  • LLVM/Clang bug found in convenience method and NSClassFromString(...) alloc/release

    - by pirags
I am analyzing Objective-C iPhone project with LLVM/Clang static analyzer. I keep getting two reported bugs, but I am pretty sure that the code is correct. 1) Convenience method. + (UILabel *)simpleLabel { UILabel *label = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(100, 10, 200, 25)]; label.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = YES; [label autorelease]; // Object with +0 retain counts returned to caller where a +1 (owning) retain count is expected. return label; } 2) The [NSClassFromString(...) alloc] returns retainCount + 1. Am I right? Class detailsViewControllerClass = NSClassFromString(self.detailsViewControllerName); UIViewController *detailsViewController = [[detailsViewControllerClass alloc] performSelector:@selector(initWithAdditive:) withObject:additive]; [self.parentController.navigationController pushViewController:detailsViewController animated:YES]; [detailsViewController release]; // Incorrect decrement of the reference count of an object is not owned... Are these some Clang issues or I am totally mistaken in these both cases?
