  • Unable to authenticate Windows XP clients agains Snow Leopard Server PDC after 10.6.2 upgrade

    I have setup a Snow Leopard Server 10.6.1 as a PDC without problems to authenticate Windows XP clients. Joining a Windows XP client to the SLS PDC Domain and log in from a Windows XP client to the SLS PDC Domain are working. After the update to Snow Leopard Server 10.6.2 the authentication is broken. opendirectory_smb_pwd_check_ntlmv1 gave -14090 [eDSAuthFailed] By changing the Windows XP "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level" policy to NTVLM2 responses only the authentication agains a SMB share is possible, but trying to join SLS PDC Domain is still not possible. opendirectory_smb_pwd_check_ntlmv2 gave -14090 [eDSAuthFailed] Any ideas? Is anyone else having similar authentication difficulties?

  • Nginx, Varnish, ESI - Will that work?

  • can't open Evolution mail in Ubuntu

    I have an issue with Evolution mail in Ubuntu. Evolution opens up, starts downloading emails asoon as I click on something in Evolution it closes down, I know there are about 2000 mails that need to be downloaded. And sometimes Evolution comes back again and if I click something in evolution it disappears again. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10. This happened since I added two extra email accounts? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thx

  • Handling email bounces

    I have a website with approx 60 000 registered users, now the server sends out emails to these users eg Birthday mailers etc. Now the problem is I get a lot of bounces. Is there a way to manage these bounces, email addresses that do not exist anymore to capture them. I'm running Centos.

  • Can't FTP into server

    I need to FTP in from one server to another If I FTP using my local PC using Krusader I'm able to FTP into the server but if I ssh into one server and I'm trying to FTP to the server using the same ftp credentials I get message [Resolving host address...] I know this address is correct since I can ping it from the server I use the following command lftp 'open -u username,password server' If I use the same command to ftp to a different server it works. Any help advise will be greatly appreciated.

  • PowerDNS, updating serial

    I recently wrote script that automatically enteres new Sub Domain records into the PDS mySql database. Now if I enter the entry mannually using Zone Admin my sub domain works 100%. Now if I add it using a simply SQL insert string eg "insert into records (domain_id, name,type,content,ttl,prio) values("; it does not work, I got told that I need to update the SOA serial which I do but it just does not want to take effect. I do the following date(Ymd)."01" and this does not work, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

  • Chrome in Linux Ubuntu stays in Full screen mode

    I've recently installed the latest version of Chrome for Linux on my Ubuntu 9.10 installation. The only problem is is that it stays in Full Screen mode no matter what I do. I pressed F11 but it does not want to return to normal mode. I even completely uninstalled it using synaptic package manager en re-downloaded it and still nothing. Any suggestions will be welcome.

  • Thunderbird loses all settings if PC is being shut down abnormally

    If my PC shut downs suddenly with power dips etc I loose all my Thunderburd settings and mail in Thunderbird, although the Profiles folder still exists. I had a look in the profiles text file and that file looks unchanged. Are there things I could try to solve this issue? I do not know what do do? Any help will be greaatly appreciated.   • Why is cpu power management not working in Server 2012 with Hyper-V?

    We've been using Server2008R2 with Hyper-V for a couple of years now and chose it at the time because of its ability to make use of Intel SpeedStep and AMD PowerNow! Now with Server 2012 and Hyper-V V3, all power management abilities seem to be gone. The CPUs are always at full speed and our servers need twice the energy as before while idling. (Yes, the CPU P-states are enabled in the BIOS) Is this by design? Is there a workaround to enable cpu power management again? Despite the great new features of Hyper-V 3, this would be a show-stopper for us since we are very concerned about energy consumption.

    I have a web server that we use, apache, centos5, php I have a file called 'include.php' that I need to include in multiple sites. Eg. I have a site called testsite.co.za, now in the index.php i want to include the include.php file, the include.php is not in the root of testsite.co.za, Now i created another folder includes in the web root directory which contains include.php my code looks as follows in testsite.co.za/index.php require_once '../includes/include.php'; if i run testsite.co.za it can't detect include.php. Is there a certain server setting I need to change in order to include this file?   • PS/2 mouse and USB keyboard combination with Windows 7 isn't possible?

    I have a PS/2 keyboard, and a PS/2 mouse - I'm using an Ubuntu/Win7 (x86) combo. Yesterday I replaced the keyboard with a new USB one. Until a restart everything was fine, but after it, the cursor couldn't be moved. I opened the device manager, and it displayed Code 10 - This device will not start. If I place my PS/2 keyboard back, restart, then the mouse will work fine. I tried the USB keyboard, PS/2 mouse combo in Ubuntu, and it works there - so it is a Windows-only problem. I downloaded the mouse's driver (it's a Netscroll 200 Laser) - nothing changed. Please help me! Thanks!

  • Alternative to middle click for Linux in Parallels on a MacBook?

    I'm running Ubuntu on Parallels on a MacBook, and there is no middle-click on the MacBook trackpad - which is annoying because it means you can't do X's paste action. Is there an alternative? I'm hoping there is a keyboard binding to X's paste or better a way to bind a keyboard key/combination to the middle-click action. Edit: I know about the emulate three-button mouse option, but that won't work for me because the trackpad only allows you to click one button at a time

  • Fan is spinning too fast just in Windows - software?

    I've recently replaced my fans (CPU, GPU, and bought a CHA fan). The GPU remained the same, but I've seen it when it was spinned 2 times faster, than it usual... but it is rarely. The problem is, that the CPU fan in Windows (especially 7) spinned too much, 'cos it keeps in under 40°C, and it is spinning with 3300-3600 RPM, which is too high I think. If I swich to Ubuntu, it keeps on ~40-45°C with with 2500-2800 RPM, which is a big difference in numbers, and in noise. I'm looking for a manual fan control solution, or just reduce the Windows' multipliers of fan speed control, somehow... I was bought the new fans because of the lower noise (and it does it, but not with 3.6k RMP). Thank you!

  • I get a 403 when requesting a JS file from CloudFront

    This is new to me so please excuse me if I have no idea what I'm talking about (: I'm trying to set up my own CDN with CloudFront and S3 through a subdomain by adding a CNAME to that subdomain to point to the CloudFront. It seems like I get a 403 when trying to load the file, this is the original s3 link : https://s3.amazonaws.com/chaoscod3r_aws_cdn/libs/polyfills/json3_polyfill.js ; which seems to be working after setting the permission to everyone to open / download. But when trying to use the subdomain to request the file : http://cdn.chaoscod3r.com/libs/polyfills/json3_polyfill.js ; it seems like I get that 403. Could anyone help me out with this one ?

  • Setting up Virtual Host in Fedora Core 15 using apache

    I'm trying to setup a couple of Virtual Host files on my Localhost PC running Fedora Core 15. Now I get this working, but now onloy one Virtual Host site works, and if I type in 127.0.0.1/test/testApp.php which is not related to the Virtual Host site , I get redirected to the Virtual Host site. Here's what I did. I created a new folder called virtualhosts in /etc/httpd/ where all my host files are stored in the following format site.conf In /etc/conf/httpd.conf I enabled NameVirtualHost *:80 and included the host files at the bottom of the config page like this Include virtualhosts/*.conf In /etc/hosts I added the line 127.0.0.1 website No when I run sudo httpd -t I get Syntax OK I restart apache and then the Virtualhost works, but as soon as I add other hosts and only use 127.0.0.1 as above it still links to the original host. Am I doing anything wrong here or left out something?     Emaroo is a free utility for browsing most recently used (MRU) lists of various applications. Quickly open files, jump to their folder in Windows Explorer, copy their path - all with just a few keystrokes or mouse clicks. tl;dr: Emaroo 1.4.0 is out, go download it on www.roland-weigelt.de/emaroo   Why Emaroo? Let me give you a few examples. Let’s assume you have pinned Emaroo to the first spot on the task bar so you can start it by hitting Win+1. To start one of the most recently used Visual Studio solutions you type Win+1, [maybe arrow key down a few times], Enter This means that you can start the most recent solution simply by Win+1, Enter What else? If you want to open an Explorer window at the file location of the solution, you type Ctrl+E instead of Enter.   If you know that the solution contains “foo” in its name, you can type “foo” to filter the list. Because this is not a general purpose search like e.g. the Search charm, but instead operates only on the MRU list of a single application, you usually have to type only a few characters until you can press Enter or Ctrl+E.   Ctrl+C copies the file path of the selected MRU item, Ctrl+Shift+C copies the directory If you have several versions of Visual Studio installed, the context menu lets you open a solution in a higher version.   Using the context menu, you can open a Visual Studio solution in Blend.   • Managing a file-based public maven repository

    I am looking for an easy way to manage a public file-based Maven repository. While we are using the open-source version of Artifactory internally, we now want to put a file-based repository of our published artifacts (and their dependencies) on a separate machine that is publicly available. There are several ways how to do this, but none of them seems ideal: Use Maven Dependency plugin: if it is configured correctly and executed with the goal dependency:copy-dependencies for the release-module of our project, it creates a local repository structure that is fine, but this structure does not contain the meta-data.xml files, nor the hash-sums. Use Artifactory to export repo: AFAIK Artifactory only allows to export a repository as a whole. This would include the non-published modules from our project (which would then need to be deleted manually). Also, all dependencies are sitting in another repository, so this needs to be done twice, and many dependencies are not even required by a published artifact (only by artifacts that are still for internal use only). Nevertheless, this method would also include the meta-data.xml files and the hash-sums for all files. To set up an initial version of the repository, I used a mixture of both methods: I first created the Maven repository for all required dependencies via dependency:copy-dependencies and then wrote a script to cherry-pick the meta-data.xml files (etc.) from Artifactory. This is terribly cumbersome, isn't there a better way to solve this? Maybe there is another Maven 3 - plugin that I am unaware of, or some other command-line tool that does the job? I basically just need a simple way to create a Maven repository that contains all artifacts a given artifact depends on (and no more), and also contains all meta-data expected in a remote repository. Any ideas?
