  I basically want a OpenSolaris NAS (ZFS goodies) but I'd like to integrate it with AD, so that when I create a new user in AD, his roaming profile is created in the NAS. That means all his ACLs have to work (I know they're compatible), etc. The tutorials I found don't actually work, so any help would be much appreciated.

• nginx: how do I add new site/server_name in nginx?

  I'm just starting to explore Nginx on my Ubuntu 10.04. I installed Nginx and I'm able to get the "Welcome to Nginx" page on localhost. However I'm not able to add a new server_name, even when I make the changes in site-available/default file. Tried reloading/restarting Nginx, but nothing works. One interesting observation. "http://mycomputername" in browser works. So somehow there is a command like 'server_name $hostname' somewhere over-riding my rule. • MySQL Database synchronizing with local and remote with c#

  I've posted this here as its more of a mysql questions than c#, I have written some software that runs a local instance of mysql when it first starts, now once mysql is up I would like to synchronize the data between the remote database table and the local database table that the software runs (it shouldn't sync any other databases / tables as there are a lot). I have replication setup to synchronize the entire database to another server which works unless the server goes down then it never comes back up, so based on that I don't think replication will work as when the software is closed it also closes MySQL. So what would be the best method of synchronizing the remote and local databases?

• Where's Windows XP standard MIDI SoundFont?

  I'm trying to find the standard SoundFont used in WindowsXP's MIDI Wavetable Synthesizer. I don't know if I get this right, but there seems to be a set of Roland Sound Canvas samples used in XP's wavetable synthesizer. I looked for a SoundFont based on these samples, but either there is none in my Windows installation, or the MIDI playback works in a different way. Anyone has an idea where to look for it?

• Adding user to chroot environment

  I've created a chroot system in my Ubuntu using schroot and debrootstrap, based on minimal ubuntu. However whenever I can't seem to add a new user into this chroot environment. Here is what happens. I enter schroot as root and add a new user.(Tried both adduser and useradd commands) The username lists up in /etc/passwd file and I can 'su' into the new user. So far so good. When I log out of schroot, and re-enter schroot, the user I created has vanished!! There is no mention of that user in /etc/passwd either. How do I make the new user permanent?

  I'm trying to run mysqld inside chroot environment. Herez the situation. When I run mysqld as root, I can connect to my databases. But when I run mysql using init.d scripts, mysql gives me an error. $ mysql --user=root --password=password ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111) So I guess, I need to change file permissions of some files. But which ones? Oh and in case you are wondering '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' is owned by 'mysql' user. • Excel 2007 - combination of If and vlookup formula

  i have a cell that refer to more than 1 worksheet and display the result (value) when it found the product from the 2 sheets. SheetA has 2 columns which column A is the value and column B is that product name, SheetB only has product name. • My Laptop Beeps when I try to USB boot install

  I tried to boot install Ubuntu using my laptop (without CD Drive) using a USB drive, then it goes to the boot selection menu (the one with the Ubuntu logo installation options). I selected Install then my laptop just beeps - 1 short beep, after that it stops then nothing installs, it just stays at the installation menu, can someone please help? Laptop Specs Neo Notebook (forgot the model version) 2GB RAM running Win XP SP3 150GB Hard Drive memory Would really appreciate if someone helped, I just used the normal 12.04 installer.

  I am using the Logging Application Block (of Microsoft Enterprise Library) to log exceptions in the Event Viewer that occur in my WPF XBAP application. If I run the XBAP in the debugger from Visual Studio, an Event Source entry for my application is automatically created in the Registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\MyApp This occurs at the point ExceptionPolicy.HandleException() is called. However, if I run the XBAP outside of the IDE directly from the file system or from its published location, the Registry entry isn't added. Therefore, no logging takes place. I can only assume this is a security issue with running XBAP applications and they do not have access to write to the Registry. Is this a setting within my project? Any idea on why this might be happening? Any help much appreciated.
