  • Store the cache data locally

    Hello, I develops a C# Winform application, it is a client and connect to web service to get data. The data returned by webservice is a DataTable. Client will display it on a DataGridView. My problem is that: Client will take more time to get all data from server (web service is not local with client). So I must to use a thread to get data. This is my model: Client create a thread to get data - thread complete and send event to client - client display data on datagridview on a form. However, when user closes the form, user can open this form in another time, and client must get data again. This solution will cause the client slowly. So, I think about a cached data: Client <---get/add/edit/delete--- Cached Data ---get/add/edit/delete---Server (web service) Please give me some suggestions. Example: cached data should be developed in another application which is same host with client? Or cached data is running in client. Please give me some techniques to implement this solution. If having any examples, please give me. Thanks.

    Dear all I'm assigning session variables by filling the $_SESSION - Array throughout my script.   • How do you store sets in Cassandra?

    I'd like to convert this JSON to a data model in Cassandra, where each of the arrays is a set with no duplicates: var data = { "data1": { "100": [1, 2, 3], "200": [3, 4] }, "data2": { "k1", [1], "k2", [4, 5] } } I'd like to query like this: data["data1"]["100"] to retrieve the sets. Anyone know how you might model this in Cassandra? (The only thing I came up with was columns whose name was a set value and the value of the column was an empty string, but that felt wrong.) It's not OK to serialize the sets as JSON or some other string, which would make this much easier. Also, I should note that it's OK to split data1 and data2 into separate ColumnFamilies, it's not necessary that they're keys in the same one.

Where's the difference between UInt32 and unsigned int? And I assume that an unsigned long is bigger than an unsigned int?

    I want to read a file from Disk in a swift file. It can be a relative or direct path, that doesn't matter. How can I do that? I've been playing with something like this let classesData = NSData .dataWithContentsOfMappedFile("path/to/classes.json"); And it finds the file (i.e. doesn't return nil) but I don't know how to manipulate and convert to JSON, the data returned. It isn't in a string format and String() isn't working on it.

  • Pro ASP.Net MVC 3 Entity Framework Sports Store tutorial

    Following the tutorial in the book "Pro ASP.Net MVC 3 Entity Framework" in Chapter 9 - Image Uploads section; asks that the Product class be updated with two new columns - public byte ImageData, and public string ImageType. It also directs that the database be updated with these two columns via the server explorer. After these updates, the discussion directs that the Entity Framework Conceptual Model be updated via the SportsStore.EDMX file. This file does not exist in the source code for the project, and was not used in the project to begin with. Obvious errata for the book. Adding the ADO.NET Entity Data Model to the Project then overrides the EFProduct reposistory (conceptual model used throughout the project) which inherits from the interface IProductsRepository; and results in errors within the mapping. If the project is debugged after the columns are added, an error is thrown related to the new added columns. Has anyone resolved this issue in the project? I haven't found any solutions so far. But I didn't figure out how to do this with OpenNetCF and mapitdotnet isn't available anymore on the sourceforge site (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mapidotnet/). I only found it on the svn directory, but there are no dlls.

  • how could I store data within a GUID

    I have an application that I want to represent a users session (just small pieces of data here and there) within a GUID. Its a 16 HEX characters (so 16^16 possible values) string and I want to 'encode' some data within that GUID. How can I achieve this? I am really after any ideas and implementations here, Ive not yet decided on the best mechanism for it yet. I would also like encryption to be involved if possible... Thanks a lot Mark

  • Way to store a large dictionary with low memory footprint + fast lookups (on Android)

    I'm developing an android word game app that needs a large (~250,000 word dictionary) available. I need: reasonably fast look ups e.g. constant time preferable, need to do maybe 200 lookups a second on occasion to solve a word puzzle and maybe 20 lookups within 0.2 second more often to check words the user just spelled. EDIT: Lookups are typically asking "Is in the dictionary?". I'd like to support up to two wildcards in the word as well, but this is easy enough by just generating all possible letters the wildcards could have been and checking the generated words (i.e. 26 * 26 lookups for a word with two wildcards). as it's a mobile app, using as little memory as possible and requiring only a small initial download for the dictionary data is top priority. My first naive attempts used Java's HashMap class, which caused an out of memory exception. I've looked into using the SQL lite databases available on android, but this seems like overkill. What's a good way to do what I need?

    I'm having some problems with using constants from a namespace. If I define the constant and try to use as it, PHP seems unable to find it. For example, in my file with the constants I have code along the lines of the following: namespace \my\namespace\for\constants; const DS = DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR; Then in the consuming file I have: namespace \some\other\namespace; use \my\namespace\for\constants\DS as DS; echo (realpath (DS . 'usr' . DS 'local')); However, instead of echoing '/usr/local' as expected I get the following notice and an empty string. Notice: Use of undefined constant DS - assumed 'DS' If I change the code as follows: use \my\namespace\for\constants as cns; echo (realpath (cns\DS . 'usr' . cns\DS 'local')); I get the expected result, but it's obviously quite a bit less convenient than just being able to pull the constants in directly. You can alias a class/interface/trait in a namespace, are you not able to alias a constant too? If you can do it, then how?

  • Which open source repository or version control systems store files' original mtime, ctime and atime

    I want to create a personal digital archive. I want to be able to check digital files (some several years old, some recent, some not yet created) into that archive and have them preserved, along with their metadata such as ctime, atime and mtime. I want to be able to check these files out of that archive, modify their contents and commit the changes back to the archive, while keeping the earlier commits and their metadata intact. I want the archive to be very reliable and secure, and able to be backed up remotely. I want to be able to check files in and out of the archive from PCs running Linux, Mac OS X 10.5+ or Win XP+. I want to be able to check files in and out of the archive from PCs with RAM capacities lower than the size of the files. E.g. I want to be able to check in/out a 13GB file using a PC with 2GB RAM. I thought Subversion could do all this, but apparently it can't. (At least, it couldn't a couple of years ago and as far as I know it still can't; correct me if I'm wrong.) Is there a libre VCS or similar capable of all these things? Thanks for your help.

Problem Statement : We Have many tables where we want to give certain number of custom fields. The number of required custom fields is known, but what kind of attribute is mapped to the column is available to the user E.g. I am putting down a hypothetical scenario below Say you have a laptop which stores 50 attribute values for every laptop record. Each laptop attributes are created by the some admin who creates the laptop. A user created a laptop product lets say lap1 with attributes String, String, numeric, numeric, String Second user created laptop lap2 with attributes String,numeric,String,String,numeric Currently there data in our design gets persisted as following Laptop Table Id Name field1 field2 field3 field4 field5 1 lap1 lappy lappy 12 13 lappy 2 lap2 lappy2 13 lappy2 lapp2 12 This example kind of simulates our requirement and our design Now here if somebody is lookinup records for lap2 table doing a comparison on field2, We need to apply TO_NUMBER. select * from laptop where name='lap2' and TO_NUMBER(field2) < 15 TO_NUMBER fails in some cases when query plan decides to first apply to_number instead of the other filter. QUESTION Is this a valid design? What are the other alternative ways to solve this problem One of our team mates suggested creating tables on the fly for such cases.     The world contains agents at different locations, with only a single agent at any location. Each agent knows where he's at, but I also need to quickly check if there's an agent at a given location. Hence, I also maintain a map from locations to agents. I have a problem deciding where this map belongs to: class World, class Agent (as a class attribute) or elsewhere. In the following I put the lookup table, agent_locations, in class World. But now agents have to call world.update_agent_location every time they move. Note that it's only used from inside Agent objects, but I don't know if that would remain the case forever.
