  • IE has restricted this webpage from running scripts problem

    Hi, I would like to have some rotating sequential images on my home page of my website. I do not know how to do this and have found code on the internet for only displaying random images. The main problem is this. Every time the page loads I get a pop-up "to help protect your security, IE has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer". Please can someone help prehaps with an example to enable this to work without this pop-up Thanks Richard

    I just wonder is there's any way to fire any event via IE's event-triggering implementation - fireEvent. I've tried to use it but failed with all event except click. The only reason i've get interested with this issue it curiousity, thus, any answers like "just do not trigger events, it is a bad idea" - all such answers would be considered, well...not full))) thanks in advance

  • Background image flickering when mouseover - IE.

    Hello everyone, I have a contact form and I added an image as a background. The background image is flickering when I move the mouse over the fields in IE(6,7,8). If I remove the contact form (made with divs) everything is fine. I tried to build the form with table and I have the same problem. Any solution? Every idea is welcomed! Thanks!

  • CSS Unwanted padding in IE using floats.

    It's been a long day of designing and I ran into a problem today. The website www.dcninc.com/newtest/security_testing.php is a new design I'm working on at work right now. If you view it in Firefox you will notice there is no padding on the 2 right boxes (I did that on purpose to trouble shoot my problem) However if you view that same page in IE, it adds padding to the right side.     In IE8 (& maybe others), when I leave my page to go to another tab in IE and then come back to my page's tab, each time the cursor runs over an image it disappears until I refresh the page. I've heard of disappearing image bugs, but I couldn't find anything on this particular case, especially given this isn't a weird pre-IE8 bug. The div has a image background in CSS, it works fine on Firefox and Safari, but when i test it on IE the background is being removed.     I can't seem to get my <div> height in IE (7) to be shorter than 20px: <div style="background: green; height: 1px;"> </div> Using the above code (both with and without html and body tags) the height of the div cannot seem to drop below a certain value (I think it is 20px). Any ideas?

    Hi, I'm trying to make a jquery tooltip that appears when a user mouses over a link. In my case the link is using display:block style so that it covers a large area. It works perfectly in Chrome and Firefox but in Internet Explorer it doesn't work at all. The tooltip doesn't show, the browsers own tooltip shows etc...   • Dual hard drive Windows 7 system, modified the registry to get programs to install on second drive, now IE doesn't work

    I have a dual hard drive Windows 7 system, Windows is installed on an SSD (C:) and I modified the registry to try to force programs to install on second HDD drive (another letter). The registry edits are pretty simple, just a few keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion to change the drive letter. For the most part the system is very fast and works great, but IE doesn't work anymore. With IE10, it opens for a flash with a white window then closes. I tried installed IE11 which opens a white window for a few seconds, doesn't respond, then crashes. I've tried all the solutions I could find. This includes resetting the IE settings, "uninstalling" and re-installing IE, which is just turning it on and off in "Turn Windows Features on or off", copying the Program Files\Internet Explorer files onto both/either drives, changing the registry keys back to use C:, lots of rebooting, and safe mode. Nothing has worked. I don't see errors in the event viewer, but I might not know what to look for. Any ideas on how to get IE running? I don't need IE for daily browsing, I just need it for cross-browser testing on sites I build and on the rare occasion a page only works in IE. I don't really want to use a virtual machine, but would be ok with something standalone like tredosoft's, but I'm not aware of something like that for current versions of IE.

  • SSRS ReportViewer 2010 Iframe IE Problem

    Hello all, My problem relates to trying to include an SSRS (SQL Server) Report inside my MVC application. I've settled on the hybrid solution of having a WebForm with the ReportViewer Control in and then on my MVC View pages having an iframe reference this WebForm page. The tricky part is that the iframe needs to be dynamically populated with the report rather than using src due to posting parameters to the WebForm. It works perfectly in Firefox and Chrome, however IE throws a "Sys is Undefined" javascript error. Using src on the iframe works in IE, but I can't find a way to post parameters (don't want to use something like /Report.aspx?param1=test due to the possible length). Its a ASP.NET MVC 2 project, .NET 4, Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7 x74 if its any help.   • Jquery dependent dropdown doesn't work in IE

    I have a 3 dropdowns: countries, states, and cities. States and cities are dependent of the previous form and loaded via AJAX. In Firefox and Chrome everything is ok, but in IE (8 in my case) when I select a state, the cities dropdown isn't loaded. It is like IE don't detect the change. It is not a load problem, because I have tested with a simple alert box. Any help will be really appreciated.
