    Hi, I am using jQuery.ajax function to make an ajax call to a page method in asp.net. I specifically set the content-type to "application/json; charset=utf-8". When I looked at the response in the firebug it says the content-type is html.     hey, in a html table i construct in each row an edit buttton like the following: retour.append("<input type=\"hidden\" id=\"id_"+nomTab+"_"+compteur+"\" value=\""+object.getIdDailyTimeSheet()+"\" name=\"hd_"+compteur+"\" />"); this is the hidden type then i do the following: retour.append("<button id=edit name=edit type=button onClick= editarow()>"); retour.append("<img src=edit.gif />"); retour.append("</button>"); retour.append("</td>"); here i am using the hidden type to differenciate between my rows with it. Now I am trying to get the parameter called here: value=\""+object.getIdDailyTimeSheet() in my servlet to do an update query based on the IdDailyTimeSheet. I didn't untill know find the way to get this value every time i click the edit button (i do its submit with the javascript). thanks for help.

    I have a method like: public T Get<T>(string key) { } Now say I want to return "hello" if the type is a string, and 110011 if it is type int. how can I do that? typeof(T) doesn't seem to work. I ideally want to do a switch statement, and return something based on the Type of the generic (string/int/long/etc). Is this possible?

  • Objective C - creating concrete class instances from base class depending upon type

    Just to give a real world example, say the base class is Vehicle and concrete classes are TwoWheeler and FourWheeler. Now the type of the vehicle - TwoWheeler or FourWheeler, is decided by the base class Vehicle. When I create an instance of TwoWheeler/FourWheeler using alloc-init method, it calls the super implementation like below to set the value of common properties defined in the Vehicle class and out of these properties one of them is type that actually decides if the type is TwoWheeler or FourWheeler. if (self = [super initWithDictionary:dict]){ [self setOtherAttributes:dict]; return self; } Now when I get a collection of vehicles some of them could be TwoWheeler and others will be FourWheeler. Hence I cannot directly create an instance of TwoWheeler or FourWheeler like this Vehicle *v = [[TwoWheeler alloc] initWithDictionary:dict]; Is there any way I can create an instance of base class and once I know the type, create an instance of child class depending upon type and return it. With the current implementation, it would result in infinite loop because I call super implementation from concrete class. What would be the perfect design to handle this scenario when I don't know which concrete class should be instantiated beforehand?

    So i have a situation where i have common base type but i need to map to a different view based on the child type. It looks like i can use a generic mapping class to handle the inheritance http://geekswithblogs.net/nharrison/archive/2010/07/09/inheriting-a-class-map-in-fluent-nhibernate.aspx But how can i conditionally map to a different view based on the child type? I see an EntityType property but it says its obsolete and will be made private in the next version. As an example i have a base class of ContactInfo is standard between contact types but the values come from different places depending on the contact type, this I'll handle through the sql view.

And I tested in GHCi, the function type is *Main> :t rho rho :: Integral b => b -> [b] If I define a function like this fun x = ((flip mod) x).(\a -> a^2-1) The type is *Main> :t fun fun :: Integral c => c -> c -> c My question is, how can Haskell deduce the function type to b - [b]?     Currently I am using standard Dvorak on Ubuntu 13.10 and Gnome 3.10. Unfortunately, writing Umlauts (ä,ö,ü) in German requires me to switch to QWERTY/QWERTZ frequently or forces me to not write those umlauts (which looks strange to German native speakers). Is there a way to use Dvorak Type 2, including the umlauts, but otherwise using the standard English layout on Ubuntu with Gnome? I'm a fast typer on standard English Dvorak and would like to avoid fully switching to German Dvorak as this would (at least temporarily) reduce my typing speed.

  • Windows 7 FTP Connection Ignores File Type Associations

    I have an FTP connection active through the Map Network Drive option in Windows 7 64-bit. When navigating the remote directory, I see no way to edit files. Windows is completely ignoring file-type associations and "opens" everything with my default browser. Is there any way that I can simply edit these files? I'm open to suggestions of other software as well, but from what I can see, NetDrive doesn't work with 64-bit.

Has anyone else experienced this? any solutions? also i'm unable to drag the slider in youtube (in firefox) to scan through videos.

    My broadband speed is sometimes lacking, and therefore it can be difficult to view Flash streams of programmes. So my idea is to start a Flash stream, let it run to completion no matter how long it takes, and then view the temporary .swf file. I've discovered the location of my Google Chrome temporary files. However, there is no file type associated with these files. Therefore, I'm wondering if the idea above will work, and how can I retrieve only .swf files?

    Hi all: I've been trying to programmatically copy custom content type and its custom columns from one web to another for some time now, and every time I get some sort of error or exception. After yet more tries, I received another strange and cryptic exception from Sharepoint after clicking onto a newly copied custom column in a custom content type. I checked the logs, and this is what I got: Failed to find the content type schema for ct-1033-0x1000blahblahblahcontenttypeId while caching feature data. Unknown SPRequest error occurred. More informationL 0x8000ffff Unable to locate the xml-definition for CType with SPContentTypeId '0x0100MorecontenttypeId', exception: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: Catastrophic failure(Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED)) ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8000FFFF): Catastrophic failure... ... at Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequestInternalClass.GetGlobalContentTypeXml(String bstrUrl, Int32 type, UInt 32 lcid, Object varIdBytes... It failed to find quite a few content type schema. I'm confused with what Sharepoint is trying to do here, and why a simple process of copying a custom content type from one web to another just wouldn't work in contrast to the information found on the web e.g. this. Appreciate any help to get over this problem. Thanks.

  • Explicit casting doesn't work in default model binding

    I am using ASP.NET MVC2 and Entity Framework. I am going to simplify the situation a little; hopefully it will make it clearer, not more confusing! I have a controller action to create address, and the country is a lookup table (in other words, there is a one-to-many relationship between Country and Address classes). Let's say for clarity that the field in the Address class is called Address.Land. And, for the purposes of the dropdown list, I am getting Country.CountryID and Country.Name. I am aware of Model vs. Input validation. So, if I call the dropdown field formLand - I can make it work. But if I call the field Land (that is, matching the variable in Address class) - I am getting the following error: "The parameter conversion from type 'System.String' to type 'App.Country' failed because no type converter can convert between these types." OK, this makes sense. A string (CountryID) comes from the form and the binder doesn't know how to convert it to Country type. So, I wrote the converter: namespace App { public partial class Country { public static explicit operator Country(string countryID) { AppEntities context = new AppEntities(); Country country = (Country) context.GetObjectByKey( new EntityKey("AppEntities.Countries", "CountryID", countryID)); return country; } } } FWIW, I tried both explicit and implicit. I tested it from the controller - Country c = (Country)"fr" - and it works fine. However, it never got invoked when the View is posted. I am getting the same "no type converter" error in the model. Any ideas how to hint to the model binder that there is a type converter? Thanks
