  • How do I structure my tests with Python unittest module?

    - by persepolis
I'm trying to build a test framework for automated webtesting in selenium and unittest, and I want to structure my tests into distinct scripts. So I've organised it as following: base.py - This will contain, for now, the base selenium test case class for setting up a session. import unittest from selenium import webdriver # Base Selenium Test class from which all test cases inherit. class BaseSeleniumTest(unittest.TestCase): def setUp(self): self.browser = webdriver.Firefox() def tearDown(self): self.browser.close() main.py - I want this to be the overall test suite from which all the individual tests are run. import unittest import test_example if __name__ == "__main__": SeTestSuite = test_example.TitleSpelling() unittest.TextTestRunner(verbosity=2).run(SeTestSuite) test_example.py - An example test case, it might be nice to make these run on their own too. from base import BaseSeleniumTest # Test the spelling of the title class TitleSpelling(BaseSeleniumTest): def test_a(self): self.assertTrue(False) def test_b(self): self.assertTrue(True) The problem is that when I run main.py I get the following error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "H:\Python\testframework\main.py", line 5, in <module> SeTestSuite = test_example.TitleSpelling() File "C:\Python27\lib\unittest\case.py", line 191, in __init__ (self.__class__, methodName)) ValueError: no such test method in <class 'test_example.TitleSpelling'>: runTest I suspect this is due to the very special way in which unittest runs and I must have missed a trick on how the docs expect me to structure my tests. Any pointers?

  • How to display video on html page in firefox

    - by Manish
    I did looked at this question, but the asker didn't got any reply. Still, I'm giving it a try. I want to embed a video file on a html page. The code works fine on IE but doesn't work on firefox. The code: <object id="WMPlay" width="640" height="480" classid="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6" codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,70" standby="Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components..." type="application/x-oleobject"> <param name="URL" value="XYZ.wma" /> <param name="AutoStart" value="false" /> <embed name="WMplay" width="640" height="480" type="application/x-mplayer2" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/Downloads/Contents/Products/MediaPlayer/" src="XYZ.wma" allowchangedisplaysize="True" showcontrols="1" autostart="false" showdisplay="1" showstatusbar="1"> </embed> </object> Can someone please tell what am I missing? • How to zoom IFRAME content only without using a frame set?

    - by Baskaran
I need to zoom frame content only. Here in my web page I used zoom: 0.75; height: 520px; width: 800px;. If I increase the zoom value it means that the frame size will be increased. <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE> New Document </TITLE> <STYLE> #frame { width: 800px; height: 520px; border: 1px solid black; } #frame { zoom: 0.75; -moz-transform: scale(0.75); -moz-transform-origin: 0 0; } </STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <IFRAME id="frame" src="http://www.google.com"></IFRAME> </BODY> </HTML> In the above sample HTML page I want to zoom the content of the IFRAME without changing the size of that IFRAME.

  • Pre-formatting text to prevent reflowing

    - by mattjn
I've written a fairly simple script that will take elements (in this case, <p> elements are the main concern) and type their contents out like a typewriter, one by one. The problem is that as it types, when it reaches the edge of the container mid-word, it reflows the text and jumps to the next line (like word wrap in any text editor). This is, of course, expected behavior; however, I would like to pre-format the text so that this does not happen. I figure that inserting <br> before the word that will wrap would be the best solution, but I'm not quite sure what the best way to go about doing that is that supports all font sizes and container widths, while also keeping any HTML tags intact. I figure something involving a hidden <span> element, adding text to it gradually and checking its width against the container width might be on the right track, but I'm not quite sure how to actually put this together. Any help or suggestions on better methods would be appreciated.

  • How to do word wrapping.

    Hi, I have created a table in PHP but the cells size is not fixed it expends when the input is long. Here is the Code. echo "<div style=\"overflow-y: scroll; white-space: nowrap; height: 190px;\">\n"; echo "<table cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"1\" align=\"center\" width=\"100%\" id=\"clients\">\n"; echo "<tr bgcolor=\"2b2d5d\">\n"; echo "<th align=\"left\" style=\"color: FFFFFF; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal; font-family: Arial; padding: 5\">&nbsp;</th>\n"; echo "<th align=\"left\" style=\"color: FFFFFF; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal; font-family: Arial; padding: 5\">Name</th>\n"; echo "<th align=\"left\" style=\"color: FFFFFF; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal; font-family: Arial; padding: 5\">Address</th>\n"; echo "<th align=\"left\" style=\"color: FFFFFF; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal; font-family: Arial; padding: 5\">Phone</th>\n"; echo "<th align=\"left\" style=\"color: FFFFFF; font-size: 12px; font-weight: normal; font-family: Arial; padding: 5\">Fax</th>\n"; I want to fixed the cells width please need help. • CSS3PIE issues in IE6 and 8

    - by Gordon
I'm using CSS3PIE to apply some rounded corners to elements in Internet Explorer that will get them by stylesheet in other browsers. I've run into some issues with it though. In IE8, I discovered that any element that had the PIE behaviour would behave strangely. The container would jump a few pixels to the right, but the content would stay in its original position, giving the appearance that the content had all shifted left relative to its container. This would be especially problematic on elements with no or small amounts of padding. I was able to hack my way around the problem in IE8 by using X-UA-Compatible, but I'd rather avoid this solution if at all possible. I don't have access to IE9 for testing but my understanding hacks like PIE aren't necessary and it would be wasteful to force a compatibility mode in a browser that doesn't need it. I have worse issues in IE6, with the PIE layout breaking down completely on a list that is set up to use display:inline; zoom:1; list items (to simulate inline-block, which works in IE8 and the other browsers). Here the borders of the list items get rendered in completely the wrong place. So ideally, I'd like to have PIE work properly in IE6, and in IE8 without having to resort to compatibility mode. As far as IE6 goes, a graceful fallback where PIE is just not applied will do. IE7 is the only browser where the page displays as intended. I can't provide an example page just at the moment unfortunately, I can add one later though. Follow up: Here are some screen grabs made with IE Tester. I'm hoping they will make things a little more clear for everybody. As you can see, IE7 is fine. However, in IE8, the containers are offset to the left relative to their content, and in IE6 the list elements (with the rounded 1 pixel border) are a complete mess! Full size versions for IE8, IE7 and IE6 are also available

  • Problem with floating divs in IE8

  • Flex/Actionscript image display problem.

    - by IanH
    I'm trying to extend the Image class but hit a problem that I can't get past. I have a private image (img) that loads an image and a function that takes that image and copies it onto the parent. The debug function "copyit2" displays the image fine (so I know it's loaded OK). But the function "copyit" doesn't work - it just displays a white rectangle. I can't see how to make copyit work so that the original image is copied to the BitmapData and then subsequenty copied onto the parent? (The idea is to do some processing on the Bitmap data before it is displayed, although this isn't shown here to keep the example simple.) I suspect it is something to do with the security of loading images, but I'm loading it from the same server as the application is run from - so this shouldn't be a problem? Thanks for any help anyone can provide. Ian package zoomapackage { import flash.display.Bitmap; import flash.display.BitmapData; import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.events.MouseEvent; import flash.geom.Matrix; import flash.geom.Point; import flash.geom.Rectangle; import flash.net.*; import mx.controls.Image; import mx.events.FlexEvent; public dynamic class Zooma extends Image { private var img:Image; public function copyit():void { var imgObj:BitmapData = new BitmapData(img.content.width, img.content.height, false); imgObj.draw(img); var matrix:Matrix = new Matrix(); this.graphics.beginBitmapFill(imgObj, matrix, false,true); this.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, this.width , this.height); this.graphics.endFill(); } public function copyit2():void { this.source = img.source; } public function Zooma() { super(); img = new Image(); img.load("http://localhost/Koala.jpg"); } } }

  • li + float crashes IE6

    - by DMin
I know. The dreaded ugly browser we don't want to support, but, it seems it couldn't be simpler to crash this thing. The URL The images gallery is a Joomla Plugin(Sigplus) and works fine with all other standard browsers. In IE it was not showing correctly, all the images were showing in one line vertically one below the other. But the browser would not hang or crash and the gallery worked as well. This is a Joomla plugin and I didn't want to mess with how it works, so, for IE I added a simple rule in the header : <!--[if lt IE 7]> <style> li { float:left; margin-right:5px; } </style> <![endif]--> This fixed the issue and the gallery shows up as it should. But, as you scroll down, as you reach the last row of images IE hangs and crashes. I tried deleting the last 5 images thinking it was something to do with the images themselves. But now it hangs on the current last row and crashes. Know what it could be?

  • Is there an equivalent for ActiveRecord#find_by equivalent for C#?

    - by Benjamin Manns
I'm originally a C# developer (as a hobby), but as of late I have been digging into Ruby on Rails and I am really enjoying it. Right now I am building an application in C# and I was wondering if there is any collection implementation for C# that could match (or "semi-match") the find_by method of ActiveRecord. What I am essentially looking for is a list that would hold Rectangles: class Rectangle { public int Width { get; set; } public int Height { get; set; } public String Name { get; set; } } Where I could query this list and find all entries with Height = 10, Width = 20, or name = "Block". This was done with ActiveRecord by doing a call similar to Rectangle.find_by_name('Block'). The only way I can think of doing this in C# is to create my own list implementation and iterate through each item manually checking each item against the criteria. I fear I would be reinventing the wheel (and one of poorer quality). Any input or suggestions is much appreciated.

  • Publishing WCF .NET 3.5 to IIS 5.1

    - by Adam
I've been developing a WCF web service using .NET 3.5 with IIS7 and it works perfectly on my local computer. I tried publishing it to a server running IIS 5.1 and even though I can view the WSDL in my browser, the client application doesn't seem to be connecting to it correctly. I launched a packet sniffing app (Charles Proxy) and the response for the first message comes back to the client empty (0 bytes). Every message after the first one times out. The WCF service is part of a larger application that uses ASP .NET 3.5. That application has been working fine on IIS 5.1 for awhile now so I think it's something specific to WCF. I also tried throwing an exception in the SVC file to see if it made it that far and the exception never got thrown so I have a feeling it's something more low level that's not working. Any thoughts? Is there anything I need to install on the IIS5 server? If so how am I still able to view the WSDL in my browser?

  • Fast, Unicode-capable, cross-platform programmer's text editor that shows invisibles like ZWSP?

    - by Roger_S
Our publishing workflow includes Windows and Linux machines (there are some Macs too, but not in the critical-path workflow). Many texts include both English and Khmer and are marked-up in XML. XML Copy Editor is the best cross-platform open-source XML editor I've discovered. It utilizes the Scintilla editing component, which is generally good with Unicode but which does not enable non-printing or invisible characters like U+200B (zero-width space) and U+200C (zero-width non-joiner) to be displayed. Khmer does not separate words with a space character as Western languages do, so ZWSP is used in electronic texts to enable applications to break lines easily. Ideally I'd edit the markup and the content in a single editor, but XML awareness is less important at times than being able to display invisibles. (OpenOffice.org Writer and Microsoft Word are the only two apps I know that will display ZWSP. They are not suitable for the markup and text manipulations that need to be done to prepare manuscripts for publication, unfortunately, although I guess they're fine for authoring.) I tried out a promising editor last week, but a search-and-replace regex operation that took under a second in TextPad 4.7.3 lasted over twenty seconds. So I want to mention that speed and the ability to handle large (up to 150mb) files is also a concern. Is there a good, fast, free or not too expensive text editor, with versions on Windows and Linux and maybe mac too, Unicode-aware and capable of displaying invisibles like ZWSP? That has syntax highlighting, can handle large files and is customizable enough that I won't tear my hair out in frustration? Thanks, Roger_S

  • Creating Thumbnails with CFImage Aborting Because of Server Load?

    - by nephilite
I am uploading in image via a form and I want to, in addition to saving the image, save a variety of thumbnails in both png and jpg format. To do this I am using the code below. The initial image uploads fine but then, after spinning for a moment I get an error of: "Request aborted due to heavy system load." (from my host crystaltech), and none of the thumbnails have made it through. I've tried it with even just one resize (and no converts) and it still fails. What am I doing wrong? • How can I get an NPC to move randomly in XNA?

    - by Fishwaffles
I basically want a character to walk in one direction for a while, stop, then go in another random direction. Right now my sprites look but don't move, randomly very quickly in all directions then wait and have another seizure. • CSS "Cover" - No scroll bars?

    - by Lynda
I am using the cover property to create a background image that fills the background and resizes with the browser. But I run into one issue, the page has a lot of content and no scroll bars appear for me to scroll down! Here is the code I am using: body{ background: url(path.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed; -webkit-background-size: cover; -moz-background-size: cover; -o-background-size: cover; /* Cover for IE 7/8 */ filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='path.jpg', sizingMethod='scale'); -ms-filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='path.jpg', sizingMethod='scale'); /* End Cover for IE 7/8 */ background-size: cover; background-color: transparent !important; position:fixed; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height:100%; max-width:2500px; max-height:1500px; z-index:1; } If I remove position:fixed; I get the scroll bars back but the background image disappears. What is the best way to tackle this and have both scroll bars and the background cover image? Note: I am using jQuery and would use a JS answer if it works (though I prefer a CSS only answer.)

  • TCP Message Structure with XML

    - by metdos
Hello Everybody, I'm sending messages over TCP/IP and on the other side I parse TCP message. For example this is one of the sent messages. $DKMSG(requestType=REQUEST_LOGIN&requestId=123&username=metdos&password=123)$EDKMSG Clarification: $DKMSG( //Start )$EDKMSG //End requestType //Parameter REQUEST_LOGIN //Parameter Value Now I also want to add an Xml file to my message. I'm considering this option: $DKMSG(requestType=REQUEST_LOGIN&xmlData= <Item id="56D@MIT" type="SIGNAL"> <Label> <Text>56D</Text> <X1>10</X1> <Y1>40</Y1> <RotateAngle>90</RotateAngle> </Label> <X1>0</X1> <Y1>20</Y1> <Width>35</Width> <Height>10</Height> <Source>sgs3lr</Source> </Item> )$EDKMSG There are problems with this way: 1-)It doesn't seem right to me. 2-)I have to handle delimeter "=" with much more care or I need to change it in parameters. What are your suggestions, thanks.

  • Why do I get errors when using unsigned integers in an expression with C++?

    - by neuviemeporte
Given the following piece of (pseudo-C++) code: float x=100, a=0.1; unsigned int height = 63, width = 63; unsigned int hw=31; for (int row=0; row < height; ++row) { for (int col=0; col < width; ++col) { float foo = x + col - hw + a * (col - hw); cout << foo << " "; } cout << endl; } The values of foo are screwed up for half of the array, in places where (col - hw) is negative. I figured because col is int and comes first, that this part of the expression is converted to int and becomes negative. Unfortunately, apparently it doesn't, I get an overflow of an unsigned value and I've no idea why. How should I resolve this problem? Use casts for the whole or part of the expression? What type of casts (C-style or static_cast<...)? Is there any overhead to using casts (I need this to work fast!)? EDIT: I changed all my unsigned ints to regular ones, but I'm still wondering why I got that overflow in this situation.

  • Why pseudo-elements :before and :after appear in front of my DIV element and not behind?

Is there any specific reason for this behaviour? Here is an example: EXAMPLE The Javascript part is a bit messy but i'm still working on it. Also I've noticed that if I delete all the JS part I don't have anymore this problem, but I don't think there is anything in the code that should modify the slideshow DIV SOLVED: The problem is in the javascript part where I have: $('.slideshow').css('-webkit-transform', 'rotate(0deg)'); Removing this line solved the problem. I guess that pseudo-elements :before and :after are not compatible with the property transform.

  • Dynamic editor upload into web page. Need advice

    - by Andrew Florko
Hello everybody, I am writing intranet site for tracking employees science activities in organization. There lots of editable information on each personal page (science degree, publications & so on) so I upload editor per request (user clicks "edit" and modal dialog with html editor: set of textboxes/comboboxes/autocomplete features & validation logic appears). Editor is html layout that is wrapped with jquery dialog plugin + some logic, written as javascript functions that should be invoked from the callee page (onsubmit, validate, afterLoad editor events). There are also attributes (editor preferrable with and height) that are passed to callee page also. Currently I send these functions & attribute as ... function onsubmit() { }; function validate() { } var width = 640; var height = 800 ... code that is embedded into the request page. Function calls and editor markup wrap with jquery plugin completed in the callee page. It works, but I have some try { call editor event handler } catch { } stuff in callee page (because not every editor provides these functions) and some attributes (editor width & height for instance) that are loaded as variables declared in javascript. Please, suggest, is there a better approach to build & use custom editors for my situation. Thank you in advance!

  • Dynamic table memory usage

    - by Dan
    I use a dynamic table: <html> <body> <button id="button">Build table</button> <div id="container"> <script type="text/javascript"> window.onload=function(){ var table = null; var row = "<tr><td>111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111</td>" + "<td>222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222</td>" + "<td>333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333</td></tr>"; var data = null; for (var i = 0; i < 2000; i++){ data += row; } var obj = document.getElementById("button"); obj.onclick=function buildTable(){ document.getElementById("container").innerHTML = "<div><table><tbody>" + data + "</tbody></table></div>"; }; }; </script> </body> </html> Using chromes task manager, each time new data is loaded the memory usage increases considerably and doesn't go down, so after some time the app consumes a lot of memory and requires the browser to be closed. Is there any change in the code I can use to solve this or is it a browser side problem?

  • YouTube API, jQuery attr won't swap element attributes (I think) in IE, but works in FF

    - by Anthony
JavaScript (jQuery) function display_youtube(new_url) { $('#movie_url').removeAttr('value'); $('#embed_url').removeAttr('src'); $(document).ready(function() { $('#movie_url').attr('value', new_url); $('#embed_url').attr('src', new_url); $('#shade').css('display', 'block'); $('#youtube_player').css('display', 'block'); $('#exit_youtube').css('display', 'block'); }); } HTML <object width="720" height="480"> <param id="movie_url" name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_eaToCSn7yU?f=user_uploads&app=youtube_gdata&autoplay=0" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /> <embed id="embed_url" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_eaToCSn7yU?f=user_uploads&app=youtube_gdata&autoplay=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="720" height="480" /> </object> Hyperlink <a href="javascript:display_youtube('http://www.youtube.com/v/_eaToCSn7yU?f=user_uploads&app=youtube_gdata&autoplay=1');">Click Here for Fun!</a> What I've done is parsed YouTube's API for the videos on my user channel. The hyperlink above is php generated, meant to trigger the above JavaScript function, and swap the url from attributes contained in ids "movie_url" and "embed_url". Works just like it should in FF, but IE will only perform the .css commands. My guess? IE doesn't like me assigning IDs to PARAM and EMBED, perhaps? What do you think?
