• OpenVPN Configuration - Windows 7 client & debian server

  I recently formatted my Windows 7 computer and lost my client's config files for OpenVPN. I recovered the certificates and default config that were left on the server but I haven't managed to make the whole thing work again. I assume the server's config and routing table are OK because it was working before (although quite some time ago). The client gets an IP (10.8.0.6) from the server OpenVPN client is started as an administrator. But: I cannot ping the other one on either side. 'Gateway' value is empty on client's side (in the adapter's "status" window). Client has got no internet access when the link is up. Ideal configuration: I only want the client to be able to use the server's Internet access and access its resources (MySQL server in particular). I do not need or want the server to access the client's local network. The client needs to be able to access it's local network, although all Internet traffic should be redirected to the VPN link. I spent a considerable amount of time on this but it's still not working, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

• firefox, opera 'The connection was reset' on few POST method calls on Windows and Ubuntu

  my website works well with GET method, also few POST methods. Some pages with POST method doesn't work. Some pages with POST work. For example, login page uses POST that works fine. When I post the data on webpage, firefox says "Connecting..." and finally report connection timed out error. The same behavior happens with Opera as well. However Google Chrome works fine. At the server side, I use nginx 1.2.4 with HTTPS and uwsgi for python (flask framework) app. I use geotrust certificate. The same behavior happens with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 on firefox. I tried firefox in safemode, but no luck. Set auto-detect proxy settings. no luck. Cleared all cookies. no luck Anyone help me to fix this issue? I am posting ngix config. shame on me. • Help with OpenVPN setup on Windows Server 2003

  Hi all, Just wondering if someone can assist me further with the set-up of OpenVPN on my Windows Server 2003. I have configured Win Server as per the following guide: http://tinyurl.com/kxusv and I'm now at the stage of Creating the config files. I have a few questions that I need some assistance with. My server IP is 192.168.1.10 and my routers IP address is 192.168.1.1 (the router is a Netgear DGN2000). I have edited the server.ovpn file as per the following: push "dhcp-option DNS X.X.X.X" # Replace the Xs with the IP address of the DNS for your home network (usually your ISP's DNS) push "dhcp-option DNS X.X.X.X" # A second DNS server if you have one to include my ISP DNS and I have not edited anything else. Now my issue is with the client1.opvpn file as per the below: client dev tap #dev-node MyTAP #If you renamed your TAP interface or have more than one TAP interface then remove the # at the beginning and change "MyTAP" to its name proto udp remote YOURHOST.dyndns.org 1194 #You will need to enter you dyndns account or static IP address here. I'm also stuck on the second part 'route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 vpn_gateway 3' Should this be the router IP which is 192.168.1.1 and the subnet is 255.255.255.0 and that is all I need to alter? The final part that I'm stuggling with is Configuring the router. Basically I have a Netgear DGN2000 and as it mentions that the router should be configured to port forward port 1194 to the server’s IP address of 192.168.1.150 all I have been able to do is in 'Firewall Rules' and on 'Inbound Services', set the Service to 'Any(ALL) and Send to LAN Server point to 1923.168.1.150. I'm not sure if this is correct? It is the following stage of the help guide that I'm struggling with and really need some help with: You need to make sure the port you configured OpenVPN to listen on is forwarded on the router to the IP address of your server. On the WRT54G, port forwarding is configured in the “Applications & Gaming” section. Enter 1194 for the port, UDP for the protocol, and 192.168.1.150 for the IP address. Make sure the entry is enabled and then save the setting. Next, you need to add an entry to the router’s Routing Table. This will enable the router to properly route requests from the clients to the TAP interface of the server. On the WRT54G you would go to the “Setup” page and then the “Advanced Routing” section. Enter the follwing info to make the entry: Enter Route Name: openVPN Destination LAN IP: 192.168.10.0 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.252 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.150 Interface: LAN & Wireless Once the info has been typed in make sure you save the setting. Can anyone possibly guide me through setting this part up with my Netgear router. I see that once I have these 2 parts complete I'm there so I would really appreciate someone walking me through what is required in completing this. Much appreciated.

• WCF net.tcp windows service - call duration and calls outstanding increases over time

  I have a windows service which uses the ServiceHost class to host a WCF Service using the net.tcp binding. I have done some tweaking to the config to throttle sessions as well as number of connections, but it seems that every once in a while my "Calls outstanding" and "Call duration" shoot up and stay up in perfmon. It seems to me I have a leak somewhere, but the code I have is all fairly minimal, I'm relying on ServiceHost to handle the details. I'm only getting about ~150 clients so I don't think I'm coming up against my "300" limit. "Calls per second" stays constant at anywhere from 2-5 calls per second. The service will run for hours and hours with 0-2 "calls outstanding" and very low "call duration" and then eventually it will shoot up to 30 calls oustanding and 20s call duration. Any tips on what might be causing my "calls outstanding" and "call duration" to spike? Where am I leaking? Point me in the right direction?

  Hello everyone, I am using a Java Web Service which is developed by one of our vendor which I really do not have any control over it. I have written a WCF router which the client application calls it and the router sends the message to the Java Web Service and returns the data back to the client. The issue what I am encountering is, I am successfully able to call the Java web service from the WCF router, but, I am getting the following exceptions back. According to the files' properties, I am not the owner and cannot change the permissions. All of my other local gems are accessible without permissions problems, so this is odd. Both interfaces have static ip's, eth0 is connected to the Internet and eth1 is connected to our LAN. We have followed literally dozens of different tutorials with no success. Results are displaying in view with Kendo UI. When I'm trying to add new row (with Kendo UI 'Add new record' button), I get error 23505: 'Duplicate key violates unique constraint'. My guess is, that EF takes id to insert from the beginning, not the last one, because after 35 (it's number of rows in table) tries - and errors - adding works perfectly. Can someone help me to understand, what's wrong? • Deploying an HttpHandler web service

  I am trying to build a webservice that manipulates http requests POST and GET. Most online references show making a website, but really, all I want to do is respond when an HttpPost is sent. I don't know what to put in the website, just want that code to run. I have the website set up, I have the code for the handler in a .cs file, i have edited the web.config to add the handler for the file extension I need. Now I am at the step 3 where you tell IIS about this extension and map it to ASP.NET. Also I am using IIS 7 so interface is slightly different than the screenshots. This is the problem I have: 1) Go to website 2) Go to handler mappings 3) Go Add Script Map 4) request path - put the extension I want to handle 5) Executable- it seems i am told to set aspnet_isapi.dll here. Maybe this is incorrect? 6) Give name 7) Hit OK button: Add Script Map Do you want to allow this ISAPI extension? Click "Yes" to add the extension with an "Allowed" entry to the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions list or to update an existing extension entry to "Allowed" in the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions list. Yes No Cancel 8) Hit Yes Add Script Map The specified module required by this handler is not in the modules list. If you are adding a script map handler mapping, the IsapiModule or the CgiModule must be in the modules list. OK edit 2: Have just figured out that that managed handler had something to do with handlers witten in managed code, script map was to help configuring an executable and module mapping to work with http Modules. So I should be using option 1 - Add Managed Handler. In the applications folder (in IIS) so far I just have the MyHandler.cs and web.config (Of course also a file with the extension I am trying to create the handler for!) edit3: progress So now I have the code and the web.config set up I test to see If I can browse to the filename.CustomExtension file: HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. • Installed Perl DBI Module Can't Be Found

  I'm trying to setup a Perl development environment on my Mac laptop and have been having a really hard time getting it working. I thought I had everything configured correctly but when I try to run a sample script it is reporting errors with the DBI module and can't access the DB. After looking for fixes for Bad Request: 400, I found the real reason: the maximum message size. I know this question has been asked before in MANY places.   I'm having issues with getting DBI's IBM DB2 driver to work with mod_perl. DBI connect('SAMPLE','username',...) failed: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified at /data/www/perl/test.pl line 15 First of all, why is it using ODBC? The native DB2 driver is installed (hence it works as CGI). Running Apache 2.2.3, mod_perl 2.0.4 under RHEL5. This guy had the same problem as me: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg22909.html But I have no idea how he fixed it. What does mod_php4 have to do with mod_perl? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm having no luck with google. Update: As james2vegas pointed out, the problem has something to do with PHP: I disable PHP all together I get the a different error: Total Environment allocation failure! Did you set up your DB2 client environment? I believe this error is to do with environment variables not being set up correctly, namely DB2INSTANCE. However, I'm not able to turn off PHP to resolve this problem (I need it for some legacy applications). So I now have 2 questions: How can I fix the original issue without disabling PHP all together? How can I fix the environment issue? I've set DB2INSTANCE, DB2_PATH and SQLLIB variables correctly using SetEnv and PerlSetEnv in httpd.conf, but with no luck. Note: I've edited the code to determine if the problem was to do with Global Variable Persistence.

  Hi ! First time of here, so please bare with me. I have to following problem, using zend framework, specifically zend_nav to create a reusable menu to be passed in via the layout/layout.phtml page. • Unable to host WCF service correctly in IIS7

  I have a WCF Service library written in .NET 4.0. I have a WCF application (in order to host this service in IIS) within the same solution. It contains the WCF library assembly reference and a service.svc file pointing to the service from the library along with a web.config that is a replica of the WCF service library's app.config. The WCF application is set to host the service in IIS7 (the virtual directory has been set). The same solution contains an ASP.NET Webforms solution to which I have added a service reference pointing to the WCF service I hosted in IIS (as mentioned). When i start an instance of this ASP.NET Web application, I get a message saying that "The WCF service has been hosted" and the ASP.NET application can access the data from it correctly. However, when i try and access this data via a service reference added to an MVC 2 Web Application on the same machine in a different solution (pointing to the service hosted in IIS), I get a "The remote server returned an error: (405) Method Not Allowed." protocol exception . However, the MVC application is able to access the service data if I manually invoke an instance of the WCF Application that I was using to host the WCF Service Library from the other solution. I am using VS2010 Beta 2 as my development IDE. I have been stuck with this issue for a while now. Any help would be appreciated.   I want to know as to how to configure known types in WCF. For example, I have a Person class and an Employee class. The Employee class is a sublass of the Person class. Both class are marked with a [DataContract] attribute. I dont want to hardcode the known type of a class, like putting a [ServiceKnownType(typeof(Employee))] at the Person class so that WCF will know that Employee is a subclass of Person.   I have a Websphere Portal application containing several portlets for which I'm currently working on some changes. A week ago, the WAR file produced by Rational Application Developer could be installed on the Portal server with no problems. Yesterday I made some seemingly minor changes to two JSP files and their associated "pagecode" Java files, and attempting to update the WAR on the server (using the Portal Administration web interface) now produces an error message. The WAR upload works, and the system shows me the correct list of portlets in the WAR file, but clicking "Finish" gives me a page with the error message "EJPAQ1319E: Cannot install the selected WAR file. Explanation: A portlet application containing legacy portlets can only be updated with another portlet application that contains legacy portlets. The same is true for standard portlet applications. User Response: Modify the portlet.xml of the application such that it matches the original API type, standard or legacy and try again. However, the "portlet.xml" file has not changed in about a month, and I've done several WAR updates for this application in that time with no problems. The problem seems to be caused by the code changes I did yesterday, but I have no clue why a few lines of code would do this. Any ideas?

• WCF via SSL connectivity problems

  Hello, I am hosting a WCF service from inside a Windows service using WAS. When I set the service to listen on 127.0.0.1, I have connectivity from my local machine as well as from my network. However, when I set it to listen on my outbound interface port 443, I can no longer even see the wsdl by connecting with a browser. Strangely, I can connect to the service by using telnet. The cert I am using was generated for my interface by a CA, and I have successfully used this exact cert with this service before. When checking the application log, I see that the service starts without error and is listening on the correct interface. From this information, it seems to me that the config file is in a valid state, but somehow misconfigured for what I want. I have, however, previously deployed this same setup on other sites using this config file. In case it is helpful, below is my config file. • How to write specs with MSpec for code that changes Thread.CurrentPrincipal?

  I've been converting some old specs to MSpec (were using NUnit/SpecUnit). The specs are for a view model, and the view model in question does some custom security checking. We have a helper method in our specs which will setup fake security credentials for the Thread.CurrentPrincipal. This worked fine in the old unit tests, but fails in MSpec. Specifically, I'm getting this exception: "System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Type is not resolved for member" It happens when part of the SUT tries to read the app config file. If I comment out the line which sets the CurrentPrincipal (or simply call it after the part that checks the config file), the error goes away, but the tests fail due to lack of credentials. Similarly, if I set the CurrentPrincipal to null, the error goes away, but again the tests fail because the credentials aren't set. I've googled this, and found some posts about making sure the custom principal is serializable when it crosses AppDomain boundaries (usually in reference to web apps). In our case, this is not a web app, and I'm not crossing any AppDomains. Our pincipal object is also serializable. I downloaded the source for MSpec, and found that the ConsoleRunner calls a class named AppDomainRunner. I haven't debugged into it, but it looks like it's running the specs in different app domains. So does anyone have any ideas on how I can overcome this? I really like MSpec, and would love to use it exclusively. But I need to be able to supply fake security credentials while running the tests. The SetupFakeSecurityCredentials() method is simply setting Thread.CurrentPrincipal to an instance of our custom principal, where the prinipal has been populated will full-access rights. See reports!"/> </target> The test class have no constructors, but it has an inner class with default modifier. It also have an anonymouse inner class. Both inner classes gives the "Test class should have public zero-argument constructor error". I am using Ant version 1.7.1 and JUnit 4.7
