• virtualenvwrapper .hook problem

  I've used virtualenvwrapper, but I'm having problems running it on a new computer. My .bashrc file is updated per the instructions: export WORKON_HOME=$DEV_HOME/projects source /usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh But when source is run, I get the following: bash: /25009.hook: Permission denied bash: /25009.hook: No such file or directory This previous post leads me to believe the filename is being recycled and locked because virtualenvwrapper.sh uses $$. Is there any way to fix this?

• What is the difference between the various unistd.h under /usr/include in Linux ?

  Under the /usr/include directory in Linux i entered the command: find -type f -name unistd.h which gave the following output: ./unistd.h ./linux/unistd.h ./asm-generic/unistd.h ./bits/unistd.h ./asm/unistd.h ./sys/unistd.h my question is, what is the purpose of each unistd.h, since there is only one definiton of that file in the single unix specification ?   autoexp.dat does not seem to take affect in Visual Studio C++ 2005 debugger. I am not trying to add any custom rules. Just want commonly used stuff like stl::string, to display in a friendlier manner. Does anyone know. how I can accomplish this? Is this just question of specifying a path to the autoexp.dat file somewhere. The file is available under the Visual Studio installation directory.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to resolve this. Any ideas???

• chdir programmatically

  Friday, March 12, 2010 1:18 pm. In windows -- and probably unix for that matter -- using the chdir() function in a (32-bit) program doesn't change the directory when the program exits. (It does in a 16-bit windows program.) Does anybody know how to do that in a windows 32-bit program?

  I am trying to write a batch file that will examine a given directory, read each file for a given string "Example" and then delete any files that contain the string. The files are also System Files so I don't know what the exact extension is or if that matters (maybe you can just omit a file type filter and have it read all files?). Some of the files will be locked from reading as well so it needs to handle access denial errors if that occurs, not sure how batch files handle that.

• Managing conflicting ivy repositories (in eclipse)

  I've got eclipse workspaces for my full time job and my home test work that are both set up with ivy (and using ivyDE). However, I'm finding that I'm getting strange behaviour and conflicts between the different workspaces - issues like not being able to find certain dependencies, or not compiling etc. Is there a way in ivy or ivyDE to set the home .ivy2 directory so that I can split my workspaces? At the moment, I'm alternating different directories for my .ivy2 cache.

  Just installed the trial version of Visual Studio 2010 RTM. Now I keep getting : The name 'NoPanel' does not exist in the current context Errors (where no panel is just about any control in the .aspx file) also I got several errors trying to deploy pages and it would not send the .cs file over ...or pdfs in the Content directory (even though I had copy always set)... This is happening on a pair of mixed ASP.NET MVC and Webforms sites.
