    I am coming from MS-ACESS world and their programing habits, There was nice utility to make form from table, You can simply hit right click on table and make form for it. Now I looking for something similar for Visual Studio and WinForms. I am trying to develop simple application for which I need to have more then 30 forms for handling data, till now I designed database tables, keys and sprocs in SQL2008 and before I start coding forms for handling data, I asking You for main guidelines how to save my time while coding forms.

    I get a crash like this: #0 0x2c58def0 in raise () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 #1 0x2d9b8958 in abort () from /lib/libc.so.0 #2 0x2d9b7e34 in __malloc_consolidate () from /lib/libc.so.0 #3 0x2d9b6dc8 in malloc () from /lib/libc.so.0 I guess it is a heap corruption issue. uclibc does not have mcheck/mprobe. Valgrind does not seem to MIPS support and my app (which is multi-threaded) depends on hw specific drivers. Any suggestions to check the consistency of the heap and to detect corruption?

  • creating a .sh file programmatically under windows and running it on a linux system from cygwin

    i want to write program, in windows, which will write a .sh file, then connect to a linux machine via cygwin and ssh, and execute that .sh file. I've had to use dos2unix to convert .sh files that I created in windows to run under linux. Obviously if I am executing a script with ssh it will have to be linux formatted to work. so I need to know how to create a linux appropriate .sh file using c or openoffice basic or vBA. thanks!

    Is there a way to link an existing .exe file with other C++ source files during compilation? What I'm actually trying to do is to compress and decompress some files in my console program using LZMA(7zip) SDK but unfortunately it's very difficult to use for a newbie. There is a command line version of LZMA called 7za.exe and I am wondering if I can somehow embed it into my program and use it like a function. It can be easily used with system() function (which seems to be a very dangerous thing to use) but then if I send my program to someone who doesn't have 7za.exe in the right folder it won't work. I came across CreateProcess() function in windows.h header files but it seems to achieve what system() does in a more proper and advanced way. I don't know if it can actually link the exe file like an object file during compilation

    I need to run a set of tests against the same ruby version and same gemset but with different versions of a .so library. Therefor I need to have two ruby installations (for the same version 1.8.7), each one pointing to a different set of .so files. How can I do that? Gemset usage is already too late because library binding is done when rvm install installs a ruby version.

  • PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists is very slow if category doesn't exists

    I have kind of library which uses a bunch of its own perf counters. But I want my library works fine even if that perf counters weren't installed. So I've created wrappers aroung PerformanceCounter and on the first use check if PerfCounter exists or not. If they exists then I'm using native PerformanceCounter instead I'm using a wrapper which do nothing. So to check perf counter existence I use PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists The problem is that if there isn't such category then PerformanceCounterCategory.Exists call takes (on my machine) about 10 seconds! Needless to say it's too slow. What can I do?     Hi- I have a website created in VS 2008 using asp.net v3.5. My requirement is to add both Routing and Infragistics controls the website. But noticed, I can have only one of these working - not both. My infragistics control works if I remove the following from web.config But by removing it- routing would not work.     I'm having a look at Entity Framework and everything I'm reading takes a data centric approach to explaining EF. By that I mean that the fundamental relationships of the system are first defined in the database and objects are generated that reflect those relationships. Examples Quickstart (Entity Framework) Using Entity Framework entities as business objects? The EF documentation implies that it's not necessary to start from the database layer, e.g. Developers can work with a consistent application object model that can be mapped to various storage schemas When designing a new system (simplified version), I tend to first create a class model, then generate business objects from the model, code business layer stuff that can't be generated, and then worry about persistence (or rather work with a DBA and let him worry about the most efficient persistence strategy). That object centric approach is well supported by ORM technologies such as (n)Hibernate. Is there a reasonable path to an object centric approach with EF? Will I be swimming upstream going that route? Any good starting points?

    I am using Google Calendar as a storage engine for a calendar system I am building, however, I am using a single Google user account with multiple calendars, i.e. each user on my system has their own calendar within the one user account. I'm able to create a calendar per user just fine, but I would like to have FullCalendar retrieve the events for display purposes, without manually getting the magic cookie url from Google Calendar settings.   • GIT clone repo across local file system

    Hi all, I am a complete Noob when it comes to GIT. I have been just taking my first steps over the last few days. I setup a repo on my laptop, pulled down the Trunk from an SVN project (had some issues with branches, not got them working), but all seems ok there. I now want to be able to pull or push from the laptop to my main desktop. The reason being the laptop is handy on the train as I spend 2 hours a day travelling and can get some good work done. But my main machine at home is great for development. So I want to be able to push / pull from the laptop to the main computer when I get home. I thought the most simple way of doing this would be to just have the code folder shared out across the LAN and do: git clone file://192.168.10.51/code unfortunately this doesn't seem to be working for me: so I open a git bash cmd and type the above command, I am in C:\code (the shared folder for both machines) this is what I get back: Initialized empty Git repository in C:/code/code/.git/ fatal: 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Git/code' does not appear to be a git repository fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly How can I share the repository between the two machines in the most simple of ways. There will be other locations that will be official storage points and places where the other devs and CI server etc will pull from, this is just so that I can work on the same repo across two machines.   • Unicode characters not showing in System.Windows.Forms.TextBox

    These characters show fine when I cut-and-paste them here from the VisualStudio debugger, but both in the debugger, and in the TextBox where I am trying to display this text, it just shows squares. ??\r\n???????,3-9 ?????????,???2 ?,???3 ?;10 ????4 ???????????,???2 ??\r\n??\r\n??????????,???????\r\n I thought that the TextBox supported Unicode text. Any idea how I can get this text to display in my application?

  • datagrid doesn't refresh on changed data

    Hi. I have 2 datagrids with data that binds at loadtime in xaml. Then I have a button that inserts a row in the database, but rows aren't added to the datagrids when I press the button. I would like a fix that doesn't just add a gridrow, but actually refreshes the data and fetches the new row from the db. I'm using riaservices, so if that opens up to any tools that can help me, please let me know? thx in advance :D
