It should show column names in tinymce editor but it doesn't. But when i click another button on the same page it shows (becos session has the filename). On Upload button click page flow: Page load - AddScriptToPage is executed (registers scripts with no columns) Then AddScriptToPage in btnclick event is executed (registers scripts with columns) Why is this script not getting registered even though it is executed on vb code on uploadclick event? And why does it show up after another button click and not original button click that calls this event?

    Hi i need to pass my Request.Form as a parameter, but first i have to add some key/value pairs to it. I get the exception that the Collection is readonly. I've tried: System.Collections.Specialized.NameValueCollection myform = Request.Form; and i get the same error. and i've tried: foreach(KeyValuePair<string, string> pair in Request.Form) { Response.Write(Convert.ToString(pair.Key) + " - " + Convert.ToString(pair.Value) + "<br />"); } to test if i can pass it one by one to another dictionary, but i get: System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid. some help, anyone?     Whenever an unhandled exception occurs on our site, I want to: Send a notification email Clear the user's session Send the user to a error page ("Sorry, a problem occurred...") The first and last I've had working for a long time but the second is causing me some issues. My Global.asax.vb includes: Sub Application_Error(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) ' Send exception report Dim ex As System.Exception = Nothing If HttpContext.Current IsNot Nothing AndAlso HttpContext.Current.Server IsNot Nothing Then ex = HttpContext.Current.Server.GetLastError End If Dim eh As New ErrorHandling(ex) eh.SendError() ' Clear session If HttpContext.Current IsNot Nothing AndAlso HttpContext.Current.Session IsNot Nothing Then HttpContext.Current.Session.Clear() End If ' User will now be sent to the 500 error page (by the CustomError setting in web.config) End Sub When I run a debug, I can see the session being cleared, but then on the next page the session is back again! I eventually found a reference that suggests that changes to session will not be saved unless Server.ClearError is called. Unfortunately, if I add this (just below the line that sets "ex") then the CustomErrors redirect doesn't seem to kick in and I'm left with a blank page? Is there a way around this?

    I need to export a gridview to excel, I put the return html code from the gridview to a HtmlTextWriter and put this into the response. The result file work fine in excel, excel can parse the html and the result is readable, work perfect on excel 2003 and 2007, but in some machines with Excel 2008 (MACOS) excel shows only the raw html code and can't process this html code. Any idea to configure excel?     I have a controller action that is accepting sensitive data. public ActionResult TakeSensitiveData(SensitiveData data){ data.SaveSomewhere(); } To ensure the data is secure I want to be certain requests are made using HTTPS (SSLv3, TLS 1). One of the approaches I've considered using was the RequireHttpsAttribute on my action: [RequireHttps] public ActionResult TakeSensitiveData(SensitiveData data){ data.SaveSomewhere(); } However, upon testing this I fiddler revealed that an HTTP request made to the action is 302 redirected to HTTPS. My question is this: If I've made a request that is 302 redirected to HTTPS haven't I already sent the sensitive data over HTTP before the redirect?

    It seems most of the work is in business is applications like inventory, sales, banks, medical, human resources, government, insurance, document processing, file archiving etc. Would you agree? From my point of view business applications seem to occupy over 90% of the job offerings(because no one wants to work on those?). Furthermore, each big app I have worked on, the application itself sucked, like being paid in compensation for putting up with a bad code base and product. Seeing how those business apps seem to occupy most of the market, should one accept that this is just the sad reality of this business? Do you get to develop on projects that are more dynamic than those?

  • Redirect in Application_Error redundant if using customErrors?

    If I have a customErrors section in my Web.config that says to redirect to Error.html, then putting code in the Application_Error method in the Global.asax to redirect to Error.html is redundant is it not? Technically, I could bypass the Web.config by redirecting to a different page in the Application_Error method if I wanted to, but since I don't want to go to a separate page I don't think I need the code.
