• Finding ASP.NET MVC User Control

  I'm creating a custom ActionResult class and I need it to be able to operate on a UserControl. All of the examples I've found so far pass in the full path like so: return MyResult("~/ControllerName/UserControlName.ascx", myModel); But I'd like it to operate the same way as calling View(), i.e. I just pass in the name and MVC determines the correct route: return MyResult("UserControlName", myModel); Is there a way I can find out the correct route to the control without specifying it manually?

  I use ack and I like it. However from time to time I need to search for something in my code base and I want to ignore all the files residing in test directory. Basically all the files which have test in their absolute path should be not included in the search. How do I achieve that? I am willing to have a custom bash script. Something like ack_no_test "application" - search for "application" in all files but ignore files residing in test directory

I need to use TreeSet and I can't use contains because they use compareTo, and equals/compareTo pair are implemented in an incompatible way and I can't change that.   I found myself needing a simple generic interface, and I wrote it, but it turned out to be pretty much the world's simplest interface. I was wondering if it already exists by some other name. I just want to make sure I'm not reinventing something that is already included with the .NET framework. interface IReceiver<T> { void Receive(T obj); } I can't really find a good list of "standard" interfaces that came with .NET. Does the structure of this interface look familiar to anyone? Have I reinvented something that is already standard? EDIT: I have a data object and a number of objects interested in receiving the data. Objects interested in receiving the data implement the interface, so that 'routing' lists and maps can send the data to them. The idea is full generalization in the routing, the routing will be data-driven.

• Ordered Data Structure that allows to efficiently remove duplicate items

  I need a data structure that Must be ordered (adding elements a, b and c to an empty structure, will make them be at positions 0, 1 and 2). Allows to add repeated items. This is, I can have a list with a, b, c, a, b. Allows removing all ocurrences of a given item (if I do something like delete(1), it will delete all ocurrences of 1 in the structure). I can't really pick what the best data structure could be in here. I thought at first about something like a List(the problem is having an O(n) operation when removing items), but maybe I'm missing something? What about trees/heaps? Hashtables/maps? I'll have to assume I'll do as much adding as removing with this data structure. Thanks

• Magento CSS not Loading in New Template

  I have posted on the template creator's site, as well as Magento support, but no one has responded. The CSS is not loading at all on the custom theme I have installed, which is supposedly compatible with the current version of Magento.   I have a class named SuperclassA, and an class named ClassA. ClassA inherits from SuperclassA. SuperclassA has got an property called something, so a very generic not-much-saying name. In ClassA, I want to have an property which maps to that something of SuperclassA. How could I do that? I want to make absolutely sure that any access to myBetterProperty results in accessing what's behind something. Assigning an value to myBetterProperty should result in assigning one to something, and vice versa. How to? Pointers set up in init? How would that look like? *self.myBetterProperty = &something; ? I'm not sure about that...

  I am trying to get current location of user using CLLocationCoordinate2D. I want the values in the format like CLLocationCoordinate2D start = {-28.078694,153.382844 }; So that I can use them like following: NSString *urlAddress = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://maps.google.com/?saddr=%1.6f,%1.6f&daddr=%1.6f,%1.6f", start.latitude, start.longitude, destination.latitude, destination.longitude]; I used CLLocation *location = [[CLLocation alloc]init ]; CLLocationDegrees currentLatitude = location.coordinate.latitude; CLLocationDegrees currentLongitude = location.coordinate.longitude; to get current lat & long. But I am getting 0.000 for both when I try to test. I am testing on iPhone 4s. If there is any sample code, it will be great.

• How to place a symbol (path) relative to the far end of svg text?

  I'm working on a program which generates SVG maps. Some of the map items have captions which need a symbol after them (like a plane symbol for an airport caption). If I have a text element thus <text x="30" y="30">Pericles</text> I can place another bit of text at the next character position by saying <text x="30" y="30">Pericles <tspan>!</tspan></text> but I'd like to draw my own symbol at that position with a <path> element. What I'm doing at the moment is having the generating program guess the extent of the text from tables of font metrics etc, but this isn't accurate enough to place the symbol consistently. Is there any way round this - like specifying a <marker> to be used when drawing the text, and using a tspan with an invisible dash in it or something to get the marker placed?

• Loading multiple embedded flash apps onto an HTML page- problem with ordering

  We need to load an embedded version of a site written in Flash, and not originally designed to load multiple instances of itself, on a HTML page. The specific issue is how to get them to load in order when embedded, given that they are all being opened by the same instance of the flash player. It's a complicated mapping application, and at the moment, the maps and data get intermixed as the session variables are overwritten by another instance starting to load before the previous one has finished. We need a way to have them load sequentially, one finishing before another starts to load. The most we can specify in the URL is an &order=1 or similar. We have PHP and SQL on the backend. Edit: The embedded versions are being loaded in an iFrame of a parent site. One php file loads one swf, as many times as the parent site desires.

• CListBox... double-clicking makes it scroll back to top?

  In a custom subclass of CListBox, if I scroll down it sometimes gets into a weird state where double-clicking on a list item causes the list to scroll all the way back to the top. I have no double-click handler so I'm a bit confused what might be going on, any ideas?

  I am trying to make a custom selection box for an image view I created and I am trying to use strokeRect: from NSBezierPath but it always seems to be transparent. Called the method set to set the color the blackColor and then also tried using olorWithDeviceRed:green:blue:alpha: but no matter what I have tried the rectangle created always seems to be transparent. Is there a better method to use to draw an empty rectangle?

• Usage examples of binary search

  I just realized that in my 4+ years of Java programming (mostly desktop apps) I never used the binary search methods in the Arrays class for anything practical. Not even once. Some reasons I can think of: 100% of the time you can get away with linear search, maps or something else that isn't binary search. The incoming data is almost never sorted, and making it sorted requires an extra sorting step. So I wonder if it's just me, or do a lot of people never use binary search? And what are some good, practical usage examples of binary search?
