• Magento "File was not uploaded"

  I'm currently using the magento admin interface, trying to upload an image in the "manage products" and I get the error "file was not uploaded" after I browse the file and click "upload file". I've looked on other forums and the main solution I saw were to make sure that php.ini has the following lines... magic_quotes_gpc = off short_open_tag = on extension=pdo.so extension=pdo_mysql.so I have Windows/IIS with ISAPI_Rewrite. Is there a max file upload size that I can change somewhere. I'm uploading pictures from my local desktop of size ~100kb. help!

  hi i am using netBeans editor to create desktop application , i did something wrong that generate three line of code in the initComponent() method related to connection with database. Then i removed the lines by opening the .java file in txt editor , but one of them keep coming back when i do anything with netBeans editor , So i want to delete this line from the netbeans itself . this is the line historyList = java.beans.Beans.isDesignTime() ? java.util.Collections.emptyList() : ((javax.persistence.Query)null).getResultList(); and this is its declaration private java.util.List<idetect.History> historyList;

• Applescript for a Newbie: Copy file to a new folder.

  Hi there! I've also posted this on the macnn forums, but thought I may get a better response here. I was hoping to find some help with using applescript (something I have never tried before, though I have a good knowledge of php etc) I need to create an applescript that will copy specified files from one folder to a newly created folder. These files need to be specified in the applescript. so something like: start fileToBeMoved = "Desktop/Test Folder 1/test.doc" newfoldername = "Test Folder 2" make newfolder and name it 'newfoldername' copy 'fileToBeMoved' to 'newfolder' end I'm so sorry for the rubbish description! • Windows Service Printing Behaviour

  Alright, I was tasked to develop a Windows Service that listens to a directory for files that are dropped in it, read them, delete them and print out a report. I installed the service on my work laptop (Win 7 x86) and a test machine (XP x86) under a User account at first. It would do everything as it should except the print the report. No errors, nothing. Then I made it run under Local System and it produced a "No printers found" exception. Converting the app to a Console Application and running on these machines gave the desired result. OK, so now I was assuming that there are security "stuff" involved. Then I installed the service on a Server 2008 x64 machine (under Local System) and it just worked. Can anybody explain to me why this is happening? Why does the service allow printing from Server OS but not from a Desktop OS or am I missing something very obvious?

• Ignoring all line feeds in a FreeMarker template

  I'm trying out FreeMarker, not for a web application but to generate text within a desktop application. I'd like to get the text without any linefeeds, however it always appends a linefeed. For example, this would produce "blah blah\n" <#if docType=1> blah blah <#if docType=2> more blah <#/if> Any ideas? Bunching it all into one line works, but is horrible. Thanks.

• Sql Server Compact Edition 3.5: Does the data persist in the database file?

  Hi guys, I have this question in which I have a SQL Server Compact Edition database for a desktop application. I am completely new to Sql Server Compact Edition. The question is, does the data inserted in the database persist even if the application is shut down or restarted? Coz I cant seem to find my data when using Sql Server Management Studio to manage the database. Am I missing anything/something? EDIT: Is SQL Server Compact Edition used for caching local data only? We cant use it like what we normally do on Sql Server Express for example managing data using Sql Server Management Studio?

• Java program runs smoothly in Netbeans but slowly in Eclipse and as an executed jar. WTF?

  A java program that does frequent swing/awt painting animation (but nothing more advanced than g.fillOval(...)) runs at a consistent 60fps in Netbeans, and at about 6fps when ran in Eclipse or executed as a jar file from a unix terminal. The program was developed in Netbeans and is run-of-the-mill desktop application (not webstart or japplet or ...). This is occurring in Ubuntu 10 with java 1.6. How is this possible? The universe no longer makes sense to me.

• VirtualBox: How to connect to Internet via wi-fi on Mac?

  I installed VirtualBox with a Win XP VM on my Mac running OS 10.7.5. My Mac only has a wi-fi connection to the internet. On the settings for the virtual host, I set: Attached to: Bridged Adapter Name: en1: Wi-Fi (AirPort) Adapter Type: Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM) Promiscuous Mode: Deny Mac Address: Cable Connected: true Those are the settings I see around the internet as being correct, but I still can't ping anything. On my Mac I have internet sharing via Ethernet enabled (not sure if that matters). When I start up my WinXP VM, it asks me to install a bunch of hardware which I don't have any drivers to. Do I need to install any ethernet card drivers in order for the internet to work? Thank you!!

• How to remove the file which has opened handles?

  PROBLEM HISTORY: Now I use Windows Media Player SDK 9 to play AVI files in my desktop application. It works well on Windows XP but when I try to run it on Windows 7 I caught an error - I can not remove AVI file immediately after playback. The problem is that there are opened file handles exist. On Windows XP I have 2 opened file handles during the playing file and they are closed after closing of playback window but on Windows 7 I have already 4 opened handles during the playing file and 2 of them remain after the closing of playback window. They are become free only after closing the application. QUESTION: How can I solve this problem? How to remove the file which has opened handles? May be exists something like "force deletion"? • How to uniquely identify a monitor?

  I'm working on a project where I take screenshots of individual monitors (TMonitor) and stream their images through network (remote desktop viewing). Suppose a monitor is added/removed (which I can recognize this already), I need to synchronize which monitor this happened to. Because, suppose there's 3 monitors, indexes 0, 1, 2. Monitor 1 is removed. I don't want to automatically change index 2 to 1, I want it to maintain an ID at all times. Is there any property I can recognize in the TMonitor class (Screen.Monitors[i]) to uniquely identify it?

• Hudson build fails when a user logs out of RDP session

  We are using Hudson to build mixed C++/Java projects with an Ant script. It is running in Tomcat 6, on a Win XP virtual machine. I have noticed recently that when a user logs off the machine (from a remote desktop session), builds that are currently running tend to suddenly fail without an error message. Has anyone encountered anything similar or have an idea what might be causing this effect? I can post additional information about our setup if needed, I'm just not sure what's relevant in this case.

I'm planning to develop it in .NET with an Oracle database, though my dilemma is that my professor says that if I do so, there would be a lot of support issues later on. He says .NET is more compatible with MS SQL and MS Access, and so is the trend, everyone does it.Is it true? I have learnt Oracle so I know of a few features which I wouldn't be able to implement on SQL comfortably because of lack of knowledge of SQL databases.I would love to learn the new syntax but again, I don't have much time to spare.

• Transforming a TXT file in a list, getting wrong

  I have a txt plain file that has a list of numbers. One number per line, like: 978-972-722-649-8 978-972-722-646-7 978-972-722-627-6 978-972-722-625-2 978-972-722-594-1 etc. This list is on a file called file.txt, was created and saved on TextEdit using Western (ISO Latin 1) encoding. Now I am trying to use Applescript to read this file and transform it on a list.   I'm a person that learns best from example. Currently, I'm diving into the field of Web Development after fifteen years of developing desktop apps. I'm still getting used to all the web technologies used for developing modern web sites and everywhere I look, I see cool little UI elements and question how they're implemented. So I thought I'd ask you, the web experts...the wexperts :) What are some straight forward or creative ways you could code this grid-breaking arrow... The basic layout for this page looks like... What would the html/css code look like? Would you split the image into multiple images or could you use a single image? I'm sure this is a really simple concept and it completely boggles me. • Positioning the dialog box in the centre of the screen

  I have a dialog box developed in mfc for a Windows CE device and want it to occupy the entire screen. I used the following code to center my dialog box on the lcd screen of the device: CWnd* pWnd = GetDesktopWindow(); CenterWindow(pWnd); However, I still get a tiny sliver of space on the left side of the dialog box, resizing the dialog merely makes it overflow on the right side of the LCD while the tiny space on the left remains (I can see the blue of the win CE desktop behind.) Are there any suggestions to solve this problem? I checked the margin settings for this dialog box in my .rc files and leftmargin and topmargin are both set to 0. I was wondering if I could get the coordinates of the centre of the screen and then place my window one or two points to the left to deal with the current offset. A messy approach I know!

• Running Firefox in the Windows service mode

  I'm writing a server running as a Windows service that by request invokes Firefox to generate a pdf snapshot of a webpage. I know it is a bad idea to run a GUI program in service mode, but the server nature of my program restricts from running it in the user mode. Running a user-level 'proxy' also is not an option, since there might be no interactive user logged-in on the machine with the server running. In my experiments Firefox successfully produced pdf when the service was running under a user account that was already logged-in. Obviously it didn't work in other cases: for Local System and user accounts that weren't logged-in. Under LocalSystem with 'Allow service to interact with desktop' option enabled I could see the Firefox started that reports that it's unable to find a printer. Since it wouldn't be practical to require an opened user session for the pdf server to run, is there any workaround for this except running the whole thing from a virtual machine?
