  I have an object that needs to be serialised as XML, which contains the following field: List<String> tags = new List<String>(); XStream serialises it just fine (after some aliases) like this: <tags> <string>tagOne</string> <string>tagTwo</string> <string>tagThree</string> <string>tagFour</string> </tags> That's OK as far as it goes, but I'd like to be able to rename the <string> elements to, say, <tag>. I can't see an obvious way to do that from the alias documentation on the XStream site. Am I missing something obvious?

• Code/Approach Golf: Find row in text file with too many columns

  Given a text file that is supposed to contain 10 tab-delimited columns (i.e. 9 tabs), I'd like to find all rows that have more than 10 columns (more than 9 tabs). Each row ends with CR-LF. Assume nothing about the data, field widths, etc, other than the above. Comments regarding approach, and/or working code would be extremely appreciated. Bonus for printing line numbers of offending lines as well. Thanks in advance!

  I have a django app with models as follows: A Question model An Answer model, with a ForeignKey back to the Question. (A question can have multiple answers.) A Flag model, with a ForeignKey to the Answer. (An answer can be flagged as inappropriate.) All of the above also have a user field, defining the user that created that object. I'm trying to get a list of all Questions with answers from the current user which have been flagged. I tried this: Question.objects.filter(answer__user=user).\ filter(answer__flag__isnull=True).distinct() … but I believe that will return a list of Questions with answers from the current user and with answers which have been flagged, but will not necessarily guarantee that it is the user's answer that has been flagged. Is there an easy way to do this? Basically, I want to make the answer part of the filter refer to the same answer on both of them. Please let me know if something is unclear.

  We are using a FormAssembly page to collect feedback - it's hosted within an IFrame on the side of our site's master page. The thing is, that some parts of our site are HTTPS - viewing and posting the form is ok in HTTPS, but the problem comes with the "thank you" page - we are using the configurable custom thank you page (configured within FormAssembly iteself). Is there are way we can send the desired response page up (perhaps via a hidden field within the posted form?) - this way we can send the HTTPS link for the HTTPS version of the form and the normal HTTP link for the HTTP form? • Help getting ActiveScaffold to work properly

  Hey there I was curious about the ActiveScaffold Rails plugin, but somehow I can't get it to work properly. I've followed the steps which are described on http://activescaffold.com/tutorials/ . The table and everything shows up and when I click on "Create new", the dialog pops up. However, when I fill out the form and click "Create", I just get "500 Internal server error". In the server log, it says "NameError (wrong constant name ###):", with ### being what I entered in the first form field. If I don't enter anything in the form, it says "NoMethodError (undefined method `new_record?' for #):"... So what am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance for your help :)

  I need auto-logoff system in my application. if user not using the application more than thirty minutes.they should log in again. this is what i need. lastAccessTime should be lesser than 30 minutes. if lastAccessTime exceeds than 30 minutes user should login again with their credentials. (currently i auto log off using Lastaccesstime field in My user table (database) and compare lastaccesstime with current time for every page loads, I do not think this is right way.) is their any way to achieve?   I have a CSV file I need to clean up. This is a one-time thing so I'd like to do it in Notepad++ if possible. The CSV file has two fields, one of which is wrapped in quotes. I'd like to remove any Carriage Returns from within the quoted field. I was trying to use this pattern but can't get it quite right... (.*)\"(.*)\n(.*)\"(.*) Also correct me if I am wrong, but I presume the "replace with" value would be something along the lines of: \1\2\3\4 Thanks in advance. I'm also open to alternate solutions such as a quick and dirty PERL script.

  Assuming a decent understanding of assembly on common CPU architectures (eg: x86), how can one explore a potential path (career, fun and profit, etc) into the field of reverse engineering? There is so little educational guides out there so it is difficult to understand what potential uses this has today (eg: is searching for buffer overflow exploits still common, or do stack monitoring programs make this obselete?). I am not looking for any step by step program, just some relevant information such as tips on how to efficiently find a specific area of a program. Basic things in the trade. As well as what it is currently being used for today. So to recap, what current uses does reverse engineering yield today? And how can one find some basic information on how to learn the trade (again it doesn't have to be step-by-step, just anything which can through a clue would be helpful).

  Hi Guys, Apologies for the newbie question. My client wishes me to make a small change to the gridview on his http://www.flogitdonegal.com/SearchPage.aspx page. Note the way the Title column is a hyperlink to view more information. This comes from a 'BriefDescription' field in the database. How can I add 250 chars from the 'FullDescription' underneath the Title in the same cell, but I dont want it be a hyperlink. Essentially it will be 2 fields coming into the same column.   Hi there, I'm aware of several question on this forum relating to this. But I'm not talking about splitting tables for the same entity (like user for example) Suppose I have a huge options table that stores list options like Gender, Marital Status, and many more domain specific groups with same structure. I plan to capture in a OPTIONS table. Another simple option is to have the field set as ENUM, but there are disadvantages of that as well. http://www.brandonsavage.net/why-you-should-replace-enum-with-something-else/ OPTIONS Table: option_id <will be referred instead of the name> name value group Query: select .. from options where group = '15' - Since this table is expected to be multi-tenant, the no of rows could grow drastically. - I believe splitting the tables instead of finding by the group would be easier to write & faster to execute. - or perhaps partitioning by the group or tenant? This number is actually a PK in another table, and I need to extract this out so I can implement a proper FK relationship. Here's an example of what would currently reside in the column: Some Text Goes Here - (305) Followed By Some More Text So, what I'm looking to do is extract the '305' from the column, and hopefully end up with a result that looks something like this (pseudo code) SELECT <My Extracted Value>, Original Column Text, Id FROM dbo.MyTable It seems to me that using a Regex match in my query is the most effective way to do this. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

  Hi, I have moodle1.9 installed on my system and writing some custom reports. I want to retrieve list of students registered for a particular course. I have user profile field usercategoryid through which i figure out for which category he has enrolled. Course belongs to a particular category. Through mdl_user_info_data table i retrieve the category for a particular user. I have written a query to retrieve the users who have registered for a particular category for e.g. Financial Planning 2010. But the issue is that i now want users who have registered for a particular course for e.g. Insurance Planning. There is a relation between course and course category but i am unable to find out the table where course and user information is linked. Please help me on this Thanks

  There are numerous login forms with the little check box "Remember my password" so that the next time you visit the website, the browser automatically fills up the password field for you. But I have noticed a behavior in modern browsers, such as Chrome/Firefox, which shows up a notification bar to save the user name/passoword even though that particular web page does not have any "remember password" check box. so my questions are: If I have to put the "remember password" check box in a login form, what do I have to do when the user checks it? I mean, do I have to store the password in browser cookies (or Local Storage)? If so, should the password be encrypted or plain text? The "Save password" notification bar is a browser's functionality or is there any way to invoke it from the web page?

  We've started using the ASP.NET recaptcha control and it works fine. but one of the requirements we have is that all outbound traffic goes over Https. I know that recaptcha supports https, but It's not clear how to configure (or even if it is configurable) when using the ASP.NET plugin option. has anyone got any experience of this? I'll expand a little on what I've found so far.... The Recaptcha package contains 3 public classes RecaptchaControl, RecaptchaValidator and RecaptchaResponse RecaptchaControl is an Asp.NET control, the recaptcha specific methods on there seem to be concerning themes/look and feel. An instance of the Validator has a RemoteIP field (which I presume would represent the verification server), but I can't a way of binding that to the control. RecaptchaResponse seems to more or less represent an enum with possible responses (valid/invalid/failed to connect).

• how to have separate keys per record in mongo_mapper + Rails

  When I'm adding a record in mongodb I can specify whatever keys I want and it will store it in the db. The problem is that it will remember those keys for the next time I insert another record. so for example if I do the following: Product.create :foo => 123 and then Product.create :bar => 456 I get :foo => nil field in the 2nd record. This is definitely not a limitation of mongodb itself, since if I restart the rails console and create yet another record with different set of columns, it will not add the columns from the 1st 2 records. So it seems like mongomapper remembers all the keys used and inserts them all into all records, even if values are not provided. The question is obviously: how do I disable this crazy attributes explosion? Basically I want only the 'permanent' keys that I specify in the model to be in every record, but all the 'extra' attributes to be specified per record and not to mess the consequent records.

  This question is an extension of a previous one I have asked. I have a table (2014_05_31_transformed.Video) with a schema that looks like this. I have put up the JSON returned by the BigQuery API describing it's schema in this gist. I am trying to create a view against this table with an API call that looks like this: { 'view': { 'query': u 'SELECT deleted_mod_time FROM [2014_05_31_transformed.Video]' }, 'tableReference': { 'datasetId': 'latest_transformed', 'tableId': u 'Video', 'projectId': 'redacted' } } But, the BigQuery API is returning this error: HttpError: https://www.googleapis.com/bigquery/v2/projects/124072386181/datasets/latest_transformed/tables?alt=json returned "Invalid field name "deleted_mod_time.usec". Fields must contain only letters, numbers, and underscores, start with a letter or underscore, and be at most 128 characters long." The schema that the BigQuery API does not make any distinction between a TIMESTAMP data type and a regular nullable INTEGER data type, so I can't think of a way to programmatically correct this problem. Is there anything I can do, or is this a bug with BigQuery's view implementation?
