  • What's the most simple way to retrieve all data from a table and save it back in .NET 3.5?

    I have a number of tables containing some basic (business related) mapping data. What's the most simple way to load the data from those tables, then save the modified values back. (all data should be replaced in the tables) An ORM is out of question as I would like to avoid creating domain objects for each table. The actual editing of the data is not an issue. (it is exported into Excel where the data is edited, then the file is uploaded with the modified data) The technology is .NET 3.5 (ASP.NET MVC) and SQL Server 2005. Thanks.

    I have a simple webpage which generates a random quote from my database upon refreshing the page. I wish to implement some AJAX and JQuery in order to generate quotes via the button rather than having to refresh the page. I have done some research but I am not sure how to implement this in Codeigniter. My current code is below...   • Database design to hold multiple iteration measurements

    Hi All. I am new to sqlite and SQL in general. I am keen to switch from flat-files to sqlite for holding some measurement information. I need a tip on how to better layout the database, since I have zero experience with this. I have a ~10000 unique statistic counters that are collected before and after each test iteration. Max number of iterations are 10, though it could be less. I was thinking the following: CREATE TABLE stat_names(stat_id, stat_name); CREATE TABLE stats_per_iteration(stat_id, before_iter_1, after_iter_1, before_iter_2, after_iter_2, ...); stat_names table would hold mapping of a full counter to a uniq stat_id. stats_per_iteration table would hold mesurement data 1 + 10 * 2 columns. stat_names.stat_id = stats_per_iteration.stat_id OR maybe I should have a separate table for each iteration? Which would results in 1 + 10 tables in database. Thanks!

  • Deserialize JSON, sometimes value is an array, sometimes "" (blank string).

    I am trying to deserialize a field: "presenters":[{...},{...}] but some of the rows come back with only: "presenters":"" When the serializer gets to the row with that empty string I get: Error converting value "" to type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[DataPrototype.Model.Presenter]'. Am I right in thinking that I need a JsonConverter that will change the empty string into an empty List?

  • URL Routing to Default Page

    Hi everyone, I have an asp.net 4.0 web forms app setup with url rereouting. In development, my app's URL looks perfect. I have a page called enrollnow.aspx that responds to the routing, so if I type in localhost/enrollnow/abc, my app responds as expected. Once promoted into my staging environment however, the URL is off. I have a domain, and a virtual dir created off of my domain called "enrollnow". So basically, my URL outside of development is: mydomain.com/enrollnow/enrollnow/abc - where the first enrollnow is the directory, the second enrollnow is the page name, and the abc is my route value. Is there any way I can have the "default page" respond, so the second enrollnow (which is enrollnow.asp) isnt required? Perhaps I can rename my enrollnow.aspx page to default.aspx, or I can change the mapping in my routetable? Heres my routetable, incase that helps. thanks! A particular area of functionality has many users which can access many areas. The permissions on the area are setup via roles (habtm) The user/roles association is also habtm The permissions (read, write, delete, etc) are habtm towards roles. How would that be best done with rails/activerecord?

    I'm using Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 2. I created two tables A and B using SQL developer. Table A has a FK to table B. Using the Entities from Tables function, I created two JPA files from it. A has @ManyToOne annotation on FK. And also B has @OneToMany annotation to A. I don't want this. Can I remove this @OneToMany annotation automatically? public class A implements Serializable { ... @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name = "FIELD_B") private B b; ... } public class B implements Serializable { ... @OneToMany(mappedBy = "B") private List<A> assetList; ... } I don't need @OneToMany mapping.

    I have two models, Worker and Project, and they are connected with has_many through association. I manage to find all the projects which are related to a specific worker by writing the following code: worker=Worker.find_by_id("some_id") worker.projects but I want the projects that I get to be only active projects (in the project model I have a status field) I tried to do something like worker.projects(:status_id=>'active') but it didn’t work for me. Can somebody tell me how I can do this?

  • How to correctly migrate urls from custom asp.net solution to Wordpress?

    I have a web site built using asp.net with ugly URLs like /DisplayContent.aspx?id=789564. I know how to migrate the database, but the Wordpress urls will be (naturally) different. Can I simply write some mapping or do I have to include a rewrite rule for each subpage (300 pages) in .htaccess? Should I provide a rewrite rule for each existing page that would transform a full old url to the known new url, like for example: /DisplayContent.aspx?id=789798 -> /2010-5-10/Title-Of-The-Post Even if I manage to migrate the URLs, the structure of the HTML for the new content will naturally be different. How does this affect SEO? Should I run asp.net and wordpress side by side and issue the redirects from the asp.net application? What is the most efficient solution to this kind of migration of URLs without doing PHP programming?
