Identifying methods with a specified Id in D [migrated]

I want to have specific methods with a specific pattern recognized at compile time and registered along with a specified id trough mixins in a parent class. ex.: take a method 'X' from a class with a predetermined id:5, what I want is that, in a mixin in a parent class, method X will be registered as a delegate with its id to be called later on by its id. What would be the best way to specify the Id considering I want the id to be of type int and only the specified methods to be registered? should I (if it is even possible) do it with a custom annotation pretty much like the @property but with an argument, like: @autoregister(id) void method(...) if it is possible to do it this way, an example or a link to the documentation on how to do it would be nice since I didn't find it in the documentation.

The data that is entered in desktop application should be automatically synchronized with the website application. If I set the Scale3D as a default property, everything works as I expect. If I leave the actor spawned so I can see it, it is scaled. If I also "show collision", the collision displays correctly as well. Is there a prohibition against scaling collision shapes at runtime?

How to minimize the data loss when laying off a programmer?

I was just laid off and it was the standard process that is used in the US: call the person to talk to personnel, and remove access to the network while that is going on, then have someone help pack, always have someone with the person until they are escorted from the property. That is supposed to keep an unhappy developer from deleting or damaging software or data: to mimimize data loss. However, it still results in a lot of data loss, as all of the work the programmer was working on is dropped: software not checked in is possibly lost, documents not finished are lost, releases in process are slowed down or stopped, and a huge amount of knowledge could be lost. It seems the potential data loss is more than offset by the actual data loss. How can all losses, both potential and actual, be mimimized?

What is best way to create a cross fade effect?

While creating an Image Slider, cross-fade is one of most popular effects so far. Various slider on the internet use various techniques to create such effect. Major technique I have found so far are two: Some use a overlay and underlay div and fade in and out each others visibility. While others, create a div of exact size of the slider on the slider-initialization and play with its z-index property and then fade each other consequently. Disregarding them, what is a proper way or much better way to create a cross fade effect. P.S: I would love to read answer in form of algorithm.

Which is a better design pattern for a database wrapper: Save as you go or Save when your done?

I know this is probably a bad way to ask this question. I was unable to find another question that addressed this. The full question is this: We're producing a wrapper for a database and have two different viewpoints on managing data with the wrapper. The first is that all changes made to a data object in code must be persisted in the database by calling a "save" method to actually save the changes. The other side is that these changes should be save as they are made, so if I change a property it's saved, I change another it's save as well. What are the pros/cons of either choice and which is the "proper" way to manage the data?

Child to Parent linking - bad idea?

I have a situation where my parent knows about it's child (duh) but I want the child to be able to reference the parent. The reason for this is that I want the child to have the ability to designate itself as most important or least important when it feels like it. When the child does this, it moves it to the top or bottom of the parent's children. In the past I've used a WeakReference property on the child to refer back tot he parent, but I feel that adds an annoying overhead, but maybe it's just the best way to do it. Is this just a bad idea? How would you implement this ability differently?

PHP error log does not display script names nor does it display the errors' line numbers [migrated]

I think the title is self-explanatory, and my Google-fu isn't bringing up anything useful. I'm working on a new host, and my php error log only displays the error itself, not which script is the offender, nor which line number the error is occurring on. Makes it a tad difficult to debug, especially since there's only 1 error in the script. More info: I'm not using a custom error handler that I'm aware of. This is a standard Wordpress install. The error was [27-Aug-2012 19:22:36 UTC] PHP NOTICE: Trying to get property of non-object. Just no script name or line number in the error I found that Wordpress' error logging contained the information to debug the problem, but that doesn't explain why the log didn't contain line number or script.

Google Analytics account setup for multiple personal websites?

I have multiple personal websites that I develop and plan to develop more over time. The number of websites is currently greater than one but less than 50. Currently I have a single Google account with a single analytics account that has a web property for each of my sites. My understanding is that you can have up to 25 analytics accounts attached to a single google account and each of those 25 acccounts can have up to 50 web properties in them which would allow me to track up to 1,250 sites. I don't think I'll be hitting that number anytime soon, however are there other reasons to structure accounts differently, such as using a separate google account for each site and then adding myself as an administrator?

UpdatePanel, JavaScript postback and changing querystring at same time in SharePoint Search Page

Hi Guys, Been tearing my hear out with this one. Let me see if I can explain: I have a SharePoint results page on which I have a Search Results Core WebPart. Now I want to change the parameter in the querystring when I postback the page so that the WebPart returns different results for each parameter e.g. the querystring will be interactivemap.aspx?k=Country:Romania this will filter the results for Romania. First issue is I want to do this with javascript so I call: document.getElementById('aspnetForm').action = "interactivemap.aspx?k=Country:" + country; Nothing special here but the reason I need to call from Javascript is there is also a flash applet on this page from which the Javascript calls originate. When the javascript calls are made the page needs to PostBack but not reload the flash applet. I turned to ASP.Net AJAX for this so I wrapped the search results webpart in an update panel. Now if I use a button within the UpdatePanel to postback the UpdatePanel behaves as expected and does a partial render of the search results webpart not reloading the flash applet. Problem comes because I need postback the page from javscript. I called __doPostBack() as I have used this successully in the past. It works on it's own but fails when I first call the above Javascript before the __doPostBack() (I also tried calling click() on a hidden button) the code for the page is at the bottom. I think the problem comes with the scriptmanager not allowing a partial render when the form post action has changed. My questions are. .NET Framework generates strange DCOM error

Hello, I am creating a simple application that enables merging of key-value pairs fields in a Word and/or Excel document. Until this day, the application has worked out just fine. I am using the latest version of .NET Framework 4.0 (since it provides a nice wrapper API for Interop). terminating java applet thread on page unload

Hello, I have got a problem here in terminating the threads. The problem is that I am using applet thread to access JS DOM and manipulate innerHTML of a span to right the Thread Name as the innerHTML. It works fine until I keep refreshing the page but if I dont give it a sleep of like 200ms and go to another page which dont have any applet on it, it will give me an error in firebug console: document.getElementById("userName") is null What I am suspecting is, although I send an interrupt on stop and I have also tried the same by setting a flag variable of running in run while loop, the thread executes much faster than the time JVM takes to unload it and I get my page changed in browser but applet is still trying to find an element with id userName. Is that true? Is there any work around of it? Is there any way to know how many threads are running at the moment? Is there any kill all command to send on destroy()? I have searched a lot, seen all the API of java threads and applets, couldn't get this to work. mootools slideshow not working with JQuery. Need help !

But I noticed that menubar that i was using stopped working, it was supposed to drop horizontaly but it is not being displayed now. I have used jquery for it. Please see the source of the web page. Mule xml to soap problem

Hi, I'm not sure if there many Mule users on here but I'm hoping someone might be able to help me! I'm having a problem calling a webservice from Mule using Axis. I've created a fairly simple example where I have xml in a file being read by Mule, it's then transformed into a Document and sent to the webservice. I'm having a problem accessing the contents of an XML document. My goal is this: Take an XML source and parse it into a fair equivalent of an associative array, then store it as a persistable object. the xml is pretty simple: <root> <element> <category_id>1</category_id> <name>Cars</name> </element> <element> <category_id>2</category_id> <name>Boats</name> </element> </root> Basic java class below. I'm pretty much just calling save(xml) after http response above. However, I have been at this for days now. I can never seem to get all child nodes, or the name / value pair. When I print out the vector as a string, I usually end up with results like this: [{ = root, = element}] and that's it. No "category_id", no "name" Ideally, I would end up with something like [{1 = cars, 2 = boats}] Any help is appreciated. Thanks

WPF: Updating visibility of controls not updating the screen

I will preface this by stating that I am new to WPF programming and may be making multiple errors. Any insight that can be provided to help me improve in my skills are greatly appreciated. I am working with a WPF application and am looping through a list of objects that contain properties that describe a document that should be built on the fly and automatically printed. I am attempting to display a small grid in the interface that shows the document being built before it is printed. This serves two purposes: one, it allows the user to see work being done by the application. Two, it renders the items on the screen so that I can then have something to actually print since WPF appears to not be able to load an image for printing dynamicaly without displaying it on the screen. In my code, I am setting the various elements in the grid and setting the visibility to visible. However, the UI is not updating and the printed document doesn't look as intended since the image never shows up on the screen. Basically it builds a visual element for a page, prints an XPS version of it and then builds the next page and prints it, etc. Once all pages have been processed, the job is actually sent to the printer. The only purpose of this application is to let the user print these documents so there is not other task that they can do in the application while the documents print. I thought that putting this task in a background thread would help to update the UI but since I am trying to manipulate items directly on the UI thread it would appear that this option won't work for me. What am I doing wrong here and how can I improve the code so that I can get the behavior that I am trying to achieve?

iPad: Mobile Safari, HTML5 <video>, and jquery transitions

I'm building a simple proof-of-concept for an iPad-specific website that would use video transitions to bring users from section to section. For purposes of the proof of concept, each "section" is just an image with a semitransparent content text box positioned above it. There are just 2 sections, "home" and "contact", and they've got a transition video sandwiched between them via z-indexing. The idea for the proof of concept is that clicking on the "home" section causes it to disappear, followed by playback of the transition video, which (upon completion) disappears to reveal the "contact" section. Everything is working fine with this version of the demo on the iPad and on Safari for Windows and OS X. Here's the JS: var myVideo = document.getElementsByTagName('video')[0]; $('document').ready(function() { $('#home').click(function() { $(this).css('display','none'); myVideo.play(); myVideo.addEventListener('ended', function() { $('#transition').css('display','none'); }); }); }); What I'd like to do is use a jQuery fadeOut() effect to fade out the text box prior to starting the video when the "home" section is clicked. On the iPad, however, the text box fades out as expected and the home section disappears as well, but the video stubbornly refuses to start playing. I really don't know why this would be the case, but that's what's happening. I'd appreciate any advice you might have!
