  • How to avoid LinearAlloc Exceeded Capacity error android

    The application gets crashing every-time, when am running eclipse saying LinearAlloc exceeded capacity (5242880), last=208 This is happening, when am creating AsyncTask, thats strange this is happening everytime . when am commenting and running its running. I am receiving the following exception: "The operation has timed out." Using ports 25, 465, and 587 Hard coding the config settings in the c# code instead of using the web.config Sending and telneting from multiple network locations to ensure the firewall/ISP was not blocking it Ensured that POP was enabled in the GMail settings (according to Google this should turn on the ability to send using SMTP) Changing the send from and replyTo address to ensure they match the account (apparently a GMail necessity). I am able to send and receive email fine through the GMail interface for both of my email accounts. I have also tried the settings and solutions offered in Question # 757987 to no avail.   • Search and display buisness locations on MKMapView

    Hello, I'm trying to find a way to search for a business, such as "grocery stores" and display them on a google map around the users current location. This used to be pretty simple with the old URL style of launching the apple map location but I can't find out how to do it with the MKMapView. I understand that I'll need to use the MKAnnotations classes but my problem is with finding the data. I've tried plugging in the URL below to get the info from google but the size of the data seems way too large. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=grocery&mrt=yp&sll=37.769561,-122.412844&z=14&output=kml Is there an easy way to just set a property that tells the MKMapView to search for a keyword and display all matching business around my current location? Or does anybody know how to get this information from google?

    Recently Google announced that they are supporting OAUth for Gmail IMAP/SMTP. I browsed through their multiple documentations, but still I am confused about if they support OAuth for installed applications. 1. In this documentation they say: Note: Though the OAuth protocol supports the desktop/installed application use case, Google only supports OAuth for web applications. But they also have a document for OAuth for installed applications. 2. When I read the OAuth specification pointed by them, it says (in section 11.7): In many applications, the Consumer application will be under the control of potentially untrusted parties. For example, if the Consumer is a freely available desktop application, an attacker may be able to download a copy for analysis. In such cases, attackers will be able to recover the Consumer Secret used to authenticate the Consumer to the Service Provider. Also I think the disclaimer in point 1 above is about Google Data APIs, and surely IMAP/SMTP is not a part of them. I understand that for installed applications I can have a setup like: Have a small web-app at say example.com for my application. This web-app talks to Google gets the access token. The installed application talks to example.com only to get the access token. Installed application then talks to Google with the access token. I am now confused. Is this the only way?

    How is that for a lot of acronyms! I am having trouble testing GWT's RPC mechanism using GWT's GWTTestCase. I created a class for testing using the junitCreator tool included with GWT. I am attempting to test using the built in Google App Engine using the created "hosted mode" testing profile created by junitCreator. When I run the test, I keep getting errors saying things like Starting HTTP on port 0 HTTP listening on port 49569 The development shell servlet received a request for 'greet' in module 'com.google.gwt.sample.stockwatcher.StockWatcher.JUnit.gwt.xml' [WARN] Resource not found: greet; (could a file be missing from the public path or a <servlet> tag misconfigured in module com.google.gwt.sample.stockwatcher.StockWatcher.JUnit.gwt.xml ?) com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.StatusCodeException: Cannot find resource 'greet' in the public path of module 'com.google.gwt.sample.stockwatcher.StockWatcher.JUnit' I hope that someone somewhere has successfully run junit test (using GWTTestCase or just plain TestCase) that will allow for the testing of gwt RPC. If this is the case, could you please mention the steps you took, or better yet, just post code that works. Thanks.

    Dear fellow Programmers, I try to use the following google map webservice in order to locate greek addresses: http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=??ad?µ?a? 16&sensor=false and it does not work. If I hit the same exactly address but written with latin alphabet characters: maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=akadimias 16&sensor=false, it works and returns the right result.     HI, I have a visualization function in GWT which calls for two instances of the same panels - two queries. Now, suppose one url is A and the other url is B. Here, I am facing an issue in that if A is called first, then both A and B works. If B is called first, then only B works, A - times out. If I call both times A, only the first time A works, second time it times out. If I call B twice, it works both times without a hitch. Even though the error comes at timed out, it actually is not timing out - in FF status bar, it shows till - transferring data from A, and then it gets stuck. This doesnt even show up in the first time query. The only difference between A and B is that B returns very fast, while A returns comparitively slow. Sooo, i am confuzed now. What do I have to call, import, add, use in code.... to make this work? I am using Google Api2.2, Api level 8.   • Eclipse will not show 2.3 emulator for android compatibility package code

    I am trying to learn fragments to modernize an app I originally wrote for android 1.5 that uses Date Picker Dialog. I am using the android-support-v4 library. When I run the code in Eclipse Juno 20120614-1722 it only shows android 4.0 emulators and there is a red X beside my Samsung phone running 2.3.5. When I push the package to phone, the code runs.     I'm working on comparison for several different methods of implementing (real or fake) multithreading in JavaScript. As far as I know only webworkers and Google Gears WorkerPool can give you real threads (ie. spread across multiple processors with real parallel execution). I've found the following methods: switch between tasks using yield() use setInterval() (or other non-blocking function) with threads waiting one for another use Google Gears WorkerPool threads (with plugin) use html5 web workers I read related questions and found several variations of the above methods, but most of those questions are old, so there might be a few new ideas. I'm wondering - how else can you achieve multithreading in JavaScript? Any other important methods? UPDATE: As pointed out in comments what I really meant was concurrency. UPDATE 2: I found information that Silverlight + JScript supports multithreading, but I'm unable to verify this.   • Will rel=canonical break site: queries ?

    Our company publishes our software product's documentation using a custom-built content management system using a dynamic URL namespace like this: http://ourproduct.com/documentation/version/pageid Where "version" is the version number to which the documentation applies, and "pageid" is a unique string which identifies that page in our back-end content management system. For example, if content (e.g. a page about configuration best practices) is unchanged from version 3.0 and 4.0 of our product, it'd be reachable by two different URLs: http://ourproduct.com/documentation/3.0/configuration-best-practices http://ourproduct.com/documentation/4.0/configuration-best-practices This URL scheme allows us to scope Google search results to see only documentaiton for a particular product version, like this: configuration site:ourproduct.com/documentation/4.0 But when the user is searching across all versions, we don't want Google to arbitrarily choose one of the URLs to show in results. Instead, we always want the latest version to show up. Hence our planned use of rel=canonical so we can proscriptively tell Google which URL we want to show up if multiple versions are being searched. (Users who do oddball things like searching 2 versions but not all of them are a corner case, so we don't care which version(s) show up in that case-- the primary use-cases we care about is searching one version or searching all versions) But what will happen to scoped searches if we do this? If my rel=canonical URL points to version 4.0, but my search is scoped to 3.0, will Google return a result? Even if you don't know the answer offhand, do you know a site which uses rel=canonical to redirect across folders in a URL namespace. If so, I could run a few Google searches and figure out the answer.

We are currently not in a position to deploy our application on top of App Engine because of limitations in the java frameworks (jboss seam 2.2.0) we are using to build our j2ee application. We would eventually want to deploy our production application on top of Google App Engine, but what are the short term options (java based open source products) which provides comparable functionality to Google App Engine's Image API and will have an easier migration path at a later point in time.

  • Possible to access gdata api when using Java App Engine?

    I have a dilemma where I want to create an application that manipulates google contacts information. The problem comes down to the fact that Python only supports version 1.0 of the api whilst Java supports 3.0. I also want it to be web-based so I'm having a look at google app engine, but it seems that only the python version of app engine supports the import of gdata apis whilst java does not. So its either web based and version 1.0 of the api or non-web based and version 3.0 of the api. I actually need version 3.0 to get access to the extra fields provided by google contacts. So my question is, is there a way to get access to the gdata api under Google App Engine using Java? If not is there an ETA on when version 3.0 of the gdata api will be released for python? Cheers.
