• What can't the NDK be used for?

  From the official NDK site: The Android NDK... provides headers and libraries that allow you to build activities, handle user input, use hardware sensors, access application resources, and more, when programming in C or C++. If you write native code, your applications are still packaged into an .apk file and they still run inside of a virtual machine on the device. The fundamental Android application model does not change. Yet, it is always described as a companion tool to the Android SDK and as a toolset that allows to "implement parts of your applications using native-code languages such as C and C++". My understanding from this is that, unlike the Java based SDK, the NDK is not designed to implement certain parts of an Android application. Is this correct? If so, what parts doesn't the NDK allow implementing?

  I have this widget: $this->setWidget('slug', new sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice(array('model' => 'MyTable', 'method' => 'myMethod', 'key_method' => 'myMethod', 'add_empty' => 'Select option'))); Ok, what should I do to translate the "Select option"? I can't use the __() helper inside the form, and adding that string into my XLIFF file doesn't translate it automatically. If it can't be done, what workaround should I implement? I can't find any way, and neither can't find any tip in the official documentation. Thanks!

  hello, i want to make a notification function, and i need fields from 2 different models. how can i access those fields? in my notification view i wrote this data = Notices.objects.filter(last_login<date_follow) where last_login belongs to the model class User , and date_follow to Follow but it is not a proper and correct way of accessing those variables. How can i access them? I need to compare the two dates for realising the notifications that one did not see since his last login. Thanks!

  I've set the Data Annotation for date, it works when I use the EditorFor but when I use the DisplayFor it is not working. The date is come from a collection of data. • Checking for duplicates with nested forms

  I'm making a rails 3.2.9 app that allows users to create pages and they can embed youtube videos through a nested form. I'm trying to figure out how to make it so that I can prevent duplicate video records from being stored in my db. So I have a Video model that takes the youtube url and just parses out the video id and stores that instead of the full user submitted youtube url, which may have extraneous url query parameters. So here's the situation that I'm trying to figure out: There's page1 with video1 - url: 123 and video2 - url: abc Then another user creates page2 and submits video3 - url: def and video4 - url: 123 Currently each page has_many videos. But I think I should change it to a many-to-many relationship. But how would I make it so that the url submitted as video4 in the nested form points to video1? Also I how would I make a nested form that creates objects that are connected through a join table?

Basically I want to make a list of user_ingreds where the user can't edit the data but can remove the record from the list via a button - however the fields_for builder doesn't recognize a direct call to to the fields in user_ingreds model (ie, builder.user_id throws and error.

• Error handling with Python + Pylons

  What is the proper way to handle errors with Python + Pylons? Say a user sets a password via a form that, when passed to a model class via the controller, throws an error because it's too short. How should that error be handled so that an error message gets displayed on the web page rather than the entire script terminating to an error page? Should there be any error handling in the controller itself? I hope I am explaining myself clearly. Thank you.

  Hi, I have a jQuery Model windows which contains a form. On creating of the page, I'm able to see the fields although in my dialog, i have set autoOpen to false. • SQL Query taking too long

  I am trying to optimize the SQL query listed below. It is basically a search engine code that retrieves products based on the products name. It also checks products model number and whether or not it is enabled. This executes in about 1.6 seconds when I run it directly through the phpMyAdmin tool but takes about 3 seconds in total to load in conjunction with the PHP file it is placed in. I need to add a category search functionality and now that is crashing the MySQL server, HELP! • How Many HABTM relationships in cakephp is too many?

  Hi all, I'm struggling with deciding how many HABTM relationships I really need in my cakephp app. I guess I don't quite get what "has" truly means. I don't want to have more HABTM tables than necessary. Here's what I have in my database: Users Properties Leases Payments Repairs user HABTM properties, user HABTM leases, user HABTM users, user HABTM repairs, property hasMany repairs, property hasMany leases, lease hasMany repairs. Also, I have two aliases for my users model (manager and tenant). This is one of the reasons I ended up with so many HABTM relationships, but I'm not sure it's necessary. Do I have too many user HABTM relationships? Would it be better to just have cake recurse through my models? Thanks!

The app is based on screen-flows , i.e each screen is defined with some visual elements with some buttons which have async events associated with them(consuming web services basically). The buttons also have functionality to go back and forth between screens and jump to any screen. I want to define all of the visual elements and the functionality of the events in a XML file. Thus the model, view and controller are all in the XML. Does any framework allow this like Pure MVC? Where can I find some examples of this kind of functionality that I want?

  I have a very annoying issue and I would love a solution. The problem: I followed the MDSN tutorial- http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/mvc-4/getting-started-with-aspnet-mvc4/adding-a-model Then I tried this guide according to my needs and I set up a database GAMES.MDF.   Then, I deleted the database and set it up again, is supposedly work (I can write and read data), but There is no such database in the APP_DATA folder. Like it keeps it somewhere in my PC and reuse it.   I even tried a new project and it did not work, works but not in the library, and it even uses the data I created before. I even deleted the DB from SQL Server Management Studio 2008. Does anyone know what the hell? How do I delete it permanently, not to remain any trace of him?   Thank you.  Ido

• Tool to maintain a Data Mapping between two systems

  We have XML interfaces between multiple systems. An Enterprise Domain Model is missing in the overall architecture, hence the terms Product/Customer/User means different things to different systems. We currently use excel sheets to map the elements in incoming XML to what the actual Field means within our system. Additionally, it contains the values of Mandatory/Optional and length of each field. We call this the Data Dictionary. Any changes to the XML go through rounds of deliberation and updates to Word and Excel documents. Is there a better way to do this? Any tool/GUI based approach which all systems and owners can view?

  Hello, I have an application with Rails 2.3.5. And Im trying to use AS latest version, I have used it previously but cant make it work here. I have my ingredient_categories Controller, where i put class Administration::IngredientCategoriesController < ApplicationController layout "default" active_scaffold :ingredient_categories end I have this set up on routes to be :active_scaffold=true I have a model also called ingredient_category, and in the views folder (inside administration/ingredient_categories, and /ingredient_categories) i have nothing as it is usual. And Im getting over and over again: Template is missing Missing template ingredient_categories/list.html in view path themes/aqueouslight:app/views I had an error before asking me for a list.erb, which I created and put <%= render :active_scaffold = 'ingredient_categories', :label = 'Categorias' % And now this error of the list.thml... Cant make it work! dont know whhy really... whould be SO simple and its burning my head now.. Thanks!

  Hi! This question follows this: handling to onchange event of AutoCompleteTextField in wicket I'm trying to use the AutoCompleteTextField with a custom class as the generic type, and to add an AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior. What I mean is I want to have a AutoCompleteTextField<SomeClass> myAutoComplete = ...; and after that add a AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior: myAutoComplete.add(new AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior("onchange") { @Override protected void onUpdate(AjaxRequestTarget target) { System.out.println( "Value: "+getValue() ); } }); The problem is that for some reason, adding that behavior makes the form try to set the model object with a String (even though the AutoCompleteTextField has a generic type of SomeClass), causing a ClassCastException when the onchange event fires. Is there a way to use AutoCompleteTextField without it being AutoCompleteTextField<String>? I couldn't find any example.   Basically, I am attempting to render an external website (the url of which is stored in the database) into a page in my Ruby on Rails app. I have a field in my model 'search' called 'search' that contains web addresses with the form 'www.example.com' or 'example.com'. I am trying to use a link_to_function call with replace_html to replace the 'maincontent' div with an iframe tag using the value of 'search' in the current instance as the src for the tag. My current attempt is the very ugly code below. I'd be grateful for either of the following types of responses: How can I rewrite the concatenation string to work correctly? How can I get the same effect (replacing the current content of the "mainContent" div with an iframe tag using a different method?
