  Hi, I have a table, department , with several bit fields to indicate department types One is Warehouse (when true, indicate the department is warehouse) And I have another table, ManagersForWarehouses with following structure: ID autoinc WarehouseID int (foreign key reference DepartmentID from departments) ManagerID int (foreign key reference EmployeeID from employees) StartDate EndDate To set new manager for warehouse, I insert in this table with EndDate null, and I have a trigger that sets EndDate for previous record for that warehouse = StartDate for new manager, so a single manager appears for a warehouse at a certain time. I want to add two check constraints as follows, but not sure how to do this do not allow to insert into ManagersForWarehouses if WarehouseID is not marked as warehouse Do not allow to uncheck Warehouse if there are records in ManagersForWarehouses Thanks

  I want to get the difference of two values within a time frame. so I have a table like this Data Table TimeStamp DataValue 2010-06-01 21 2010-06-03 33 2010-06-05 44 So I want to first get all data over the last month which I can do with something like. ([TimeStamp] < GETDATE()-0 and ([TimeStamp] > GETDATE()-31) But I want to see how much value added on over the course of the month. So it started at 21 and went to 44. So I would expect this example to to return 23 (as in 44-21). How would I build a query like this?

Lets look at those example results: columnX 100 86 85 70 null null I get 6 rows for example, some of them are null, some of them are not null.   I have a scenario where: there are two (or more) tables that represent independent items. lets say Users and Companies Both of these tables need addresses stored. Each one can have one or more address In a normal 1 to many scenario Addresses table woudl just have a UserId or a CompanyId creating a normal 1 to many relationship. In this case i have a few approaches i can think of the Addresses table could have both a UserId and a CompanyId and only one would be used for each record. 2 keys could be used ObjectId and ObjectType So Object id would have a UserId or a CompanyId, and ObjectType woudl be User or Company Create an ObjectTable and add ObjectId to Users and Companies. Addresses would then have an OjbectId I do not really like any of these solutions. i am wondering what is the best approach here. On another note i will most likely user linqtosql for my data access layer.

  I need to group a set of rows based on the Category column, and also limit the combined rows based on the SUM(Number) column to be less than or equal to the @Limit value. For each distinct Category column I need to identify "buckets" that are <=@limit. If the SUM(Number) of all the rows for a Category column are <=@Limit then there will be only 1 bucket for that Category value (like 'CCCC' in the sample data). However if the SUM(Number)@limit, then there will be multiple bucket rows for that Category value (like 'AAAA' in the sample data), and each bucket must be <=@Limit. There can be as many buckets as necessary. Also, look at Category value 'DDDD', its one row is greater than @Limit all by itself, and gets split into two rows in the result set.   I create a query: Select * from HR_Tsalary where month='3' and year ='2010' the result is 473 records and I found 2 duplicate record, then I create another query to find duplicate record only: SELECT Emp_No, COUNT(*) FROM HR_Tsalary WHERE year = '10' AND month = '3'GROUP BY Emp_No HAVING COUNT(*) 1 the result is zero record from client side (thru Visual Basic Adodb code). But when I use same query from server the result is 2 records. Is there any different when create a query between from server side and client side?

  I have run into a very interesting problem trying to debug my custom php session handler. For some reason unknown to me I can set cookies all the way through the session handler right up until the very start of the write function. As far as I know session handler calls go in this order. open - read - write - close The open function sets a cookie just fine. function open($save_path,$session_name) { require_once('database.php'); require_once('websiteinfo.php'); mysql_connect($sqllocation,$sql_session_user,$sql_session_pass); @mysql_select_db($sql_default_db); date_default_timezone_set('America/Los_Angeles'); setcookie("test","test"); return TRUE; } The read function can set a cookie right up until the very moment it returns a value. function read($session_id) { $time = time(); $query = "SELECT * FROM 'sessions' WHERE 'expires' > '$time'"; $query_result = mysql_query($query); $data = ''; /* fetch the array and start sifting through it */ while($session_array = mysql_fetch_array($query_result)) { /* strip the slashes from the session array */ $session_array = $this->strip($session_array); /* authenticate the user and if so return the session data */ if($this->auth_check($session_array,$session_id)) { $data = $session_array['data']; } } setcookie("testcookie1","value1",time()+1000,'/'); return $data; } The very first line of the write function is setting another cookie and it cannot because the headers are already sent.   I'm trying to migrate a site from a joomla system to a drupal. The problem is that drupal needs filename and sourcepath in the same row, but joomla only has filename. I'm looking for a way to add sourcepath before the filename in all the rows in that column. I'm figuring it's the UPDATE statement that I should use, but I can't figure out how to construct the query.
