  • How to handle data concurrency in ASP.NET?

    Hi! all I have an application, that is accessing by number of users at the same time. Those users, who are accessing the application getting the same id. Here what i am doing in the code is, when they are creating new user i am getting a max id from DB and increasing the value to 1. So that they are getting same ID. so that i am facing concurrency in this situation. How to solve this problem. I need to display different numbers when the users click on NewUser. I am using SQL server 2008 and .NET 3.5 and C#.NET Thanks in advance.

    I use rails 3.2.2 and autocomplete, I m selecting customer by name and formating it in a following way format.json { render :json = @customers.map{ |c| "#{c.name}:#{c.phone1}:#{c.email}" } } so, i need to parse json properly an display in a way i want for example I want write name in but make phone smaller and bold ,display it in different color.   • How to delete data in DB efficiently using LinQ to NHibernate (one-shot-delete)

    Hello, producing software for customers, mostly using MS SQL but some Oracle, a decision was made to plunge into Nhibernate (and C#). The task is to delete efficiently e.g. 10 000 rows from 100 000 and still stay sticked to ORM. I've tried named queries - link already, IQuery sql = s.GetNamedQuery("native-delete-car").SetString(0, "Kirsten"); sql.ExecuteUpdate(); but the best I have ever found seems to be: using (ITransaction tx = _session.BeginTransaction()) { try { string cmd = "delete from Customer where Id < GetSomeId()"; var count = _session.CreateSQLQuery(cmd).ExecuteUpdate(); ... Since it may not get into dB to get all complete rows before deleting them. My questions are: If there is a better way for this kind of delete. If there is a possibility to get the Where condition for Delete like this: Having a select statement (using LinQ to NHibernate) = which will generate appropriate SQL for DB = we get that Where condition and use it for Delete. For example, if the name was missing from the PrimaryContact instance the error would read "primary contact name is required". My current solution is to create a validation service that checks the model state for field errors then remove said errors and add them back using the specific language I'd like.

    I have a many-to-many relationship between two entities; Item and Tag. I'm trying to create a predicate to take the selectedItem and return a ranking of items based on how many similar tags they have. So far I've tried: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"SUBQUERY(itemToTag, $item, $item in %@).@count > 0", selectedItem.itemToTag]; Any other iterations that have failed. It currently only returns the selectedItem in the list. I've found little on Subquery. Is there a guru out there that can help me refine this? Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Most efficient way to save tile data of an isometric game

    Hello, I'm working on an isometric game for fast browsers that support <canvas>, which is great fun. To save information of each tile, I use a two-dimensional array which contains numbers representing a tile ID, like: var level = [[1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 0], [0, 1, 1, 2, 0, 1], [0, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1]]; var tiles = [ {name: 'grass', color: 'green'}, {name: 'water', color: 'blue'}, {name: 'forest', color: 'ForestGreen'} ]; So far it works great, but now I want to work with heights and slopes like in this picture: For each tile I need to save it's tile ID, height and information about which corners are turned upward. I came up with a simple idea about a bitwise representation of all four corners, like this: 1011 // top, bottom and left corner turned up My question is: what is the most efficient way to save these three values for each cell? Is it possible to save these three values as one integer?

    I wish to send text between processes. I have found lots of examples of this but none that I can get working. Here is what I have so far: for the sending part: COPYDATASTRUCT CDS; CDS.dwData = 1; CDS.cbData = 8; CDS.lpData = NULL; SendMessage(hwnd, WM_COPYDATA , (WPARAM)hwnd, (LPARAM) (LPVOID) &CDS); the receiving part: case WM_COPYDATA: COPYDATASTRUCT* cds = (COPYDATASTRUCT*) lParam; I dont know how to construct the COPYDATASTRUCT, I have just put something in that seems to work. When debugging the WM_COPYDATA case is executed, but again I dont know what to do with the COPYDATASTRUCT. I would like to send text between the two processes. As you can probably tell I am just starting out, I am using GNU GCC Compiler in Code::Blocks, I am trying to avoid MFC and dependencies.

    I'm posting a form with javascript and it seems to be changing a value that I've entered in. I see this in fiddler. If get rid of the javascript and click the button above, it goes through how it should. Why is JQuery changing my text?

    I've got an IR sensor which writes its current information to a token which I then interpret in a C# application. That's all good -- no problems there, heres my code: SetLabelText(tokens [1],label_sensorValue); sensorreading = Int32.Parse(tokens[0]); sensordistance = (mathfunctionhere); Great. So the further away the IR sensor is from an object, the lower the sensor reading (as less light is reflected back and received by the sensor). My problem is in interpreting that length. I can go ahead and get lets say "110" as a value when an object is 5 inches away, and then "70" as a value when an object is 6 inches away. Now I want to be able to calculate the distance of an object using these constants for any length. Any ideas?

    Hi, I have a program (C#) with a list of tests to do. Also, I have two thread. one to add task into the list, and one to read and remove from it the performed tasks. I'm using the 'lock' function each time one of the threads want to access to the list. Another thing I want to do is, if the list is empty, the thread who need to read from the list will sleep. and wake up when the first thread add a task to the list. Here is the code I wrote: ...   • remove schema from linq datacontexts

    When I add stored procedures to a linq datacontext, by default visual studio prefixes the stored procedure with the sql schema that it is in. Is there any way to stop this? In our environment, the stored procedures may be moved to other schemas over time, and we will default the schema based on the sql user used to connect. Do I have to do this manually or can I somehow turn off the schema prefixes?

    Having had a quick look at the Flex docs I can't seem to find any reference to providing audio content to be played from a custom (possibly encrypted - don't worry, it's not that evil) container format. Is this possible and if so, could someone point me in the right direction. Or if that's not possible, some way to hook into the disk/network (disk is much more important in this case) I/O of the sound playing mechanism to provide a supported container in memory from a custom wrapper.

  • NHibernate Linq queries not returning data saved in the same transaction

    Hi, I have a situation where I am using NHibernate in a WCF service and using a TransactionScope for the transaction management. NHibernate enlists in the ambient transaction fine, but, any changes I make and save inside the transaction, are not visible to any queries I make while still in that transaction. So if I add an entity and session.save() it, then further on in the code, there is a linq query against that entities table, the entity I just added is not returned. Strangely this seems to work fine if I use explicit NHibernate transactions in my tests. Anyone have any ideas as to why and what I can do about it? Many thanks Andrew

    Hi I have application with TabBar that control several views. In one view i control connection to different servers.Each server provides different set of items. I display these items in UITableView on other view. I create table view like this UITableView * aTableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(X,Y,Width,Height) style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; [[self view] addSubview:aTableView]; aTableView.da taSource = self; The problem is that Table view displayed ok first time , but if i go back to view number one and change server(changing list of items that should be displayed in table view), table view becomes invisible for some reason. If i tap on the screen in place where it should be, its becomes visible again. Ive tried to call to reloadData and setNeedDisplay in viewWillAppear of the UIViewController that hosts this table view, but without success. Any advice? Thanks

  • Can you automatically create a mysqldump file that doesn't enforce foreign key constraints?

    When I run a mysqldump command on my database and then try to import it, it fails as it attempts to create the tables alphabetically, even though they may have a foreign key that references a table later in the file. There doesn't appear to be anything in the documentation and I've found answers like this that say to update the file after it's created to include: set FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 0; ...original mysqldump file contents... set FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 1; Is there no way to automatically set those lines or export the tables in the necessary order (without having to manually specify all table names as that can be tedious and error prone)? I could wrap those lines in a script, but was wondering if there is an easy way to ensure I can dump a file and then import it without manually updating it.
